What purpose does the feeling of pure horror play in our evolution except for turning us into easy pray? When we sense a sudden threat we can dive into a fight or flight response but true fear just puts us into a state of confusion and inaction, chock maybe? Whats the purpose other then letting the aggressor have its way with us?
I have felt fear a couple of times. Once when i had a bad trip around people I didn’t know or trust and it made me wanna hide in a closet. The second time was after a psychosis when i could no longer understand what was real and it felt like literally anything and everything could happen at any second (a weird feeling that is hard to explain)

losing your mind in such situations is simply not natural for adult humans. it's merely a result of growing in sterile, unnatural conditions such as civilization. if you were living like an animal for life - you would never lost control over your body like that.
"freezing" is fine tho. some animals do that to to trick predators

Humans are uniquely cursed with the ability of imagination. We imagine future suffering. Like slowly being torn apart by predators, or burning in hell.

It's a maladaptation. Fainting goats have the same fear response, it's not beneficial.
I think it's because we don't have to deal with predators often, so we stopped showing fear responses that much. Makes it harder for women to tell if a man has this mutation, thus it spreads.
If we had natural predators it would be less common, because these mutants would die off or be recognized as dysgenic.

This is it. Get exposed to "total fear" a few times and you'll stop being paralyzed by it. This should have happened when you were a kid.

Fawning, playing dead, comatose states. Idk if that helps or not.

go do MMA/Boxing/Kickboxing and ask the guy you spar with to shout at you like a madman as if he's trying to kill you. You won't be freezing no more.
