I've known quite a few schizophrenics (as well as people who were probably just going through routine drug psychosis) in my life and they ALL had a habit of fixating on music videos and incessantly posting them on their socials and via messages. When I was younger and used to drink too much I would also do this. What is it about an unstable schizoid mind that gravitate so magnetically to music videos?Or am I tripping and there's no connection (there is)?
i used to really like music videos when i was really young and then fan edits but i stopped paying attention to those around the release of the lily chou chou hazel far apart fan edit and many of my favorites are deleted and it feels like a part of my soul is missing when i cant see them. i think the synchronization of the imagery and sound creates a really encompassing sensation that ‘reveals’ the connections between the song and the visual media that is really satisfying for schizos. like training wheels
training wheels for ‘revealing’ connections between apparently disparate events/objects/media
>>43146712Music is filled with metaphor, symbolism, and emotional evocation. The schizophrenic mind is too disorganized to understand this and literatizes everything.

>>43146712Music is very emotionally evocative for me, and I find it enjoyable in a ways that porn, drugs, booze, television, movies, sports, food, books, video games, etc can’t really come close to.I absorb a ton of depressing information all day, every day, from screens and other people, so it’s kinda nice to change gears and go look at a video of an attractive woman with a nice singing voice do a cool dance. What makes you feel good, or happy? Do you know why?
>>43146742That's the best observation so far itt
>>43146748posted any good music videos recently?
>>43146748Tf do u even mean by this cuh
>>43146742>>43146736both of this hit the nail on the head.most of what seems schizo is syntheses lacking analysis.
>>43146712Schizophrenia is when you drown in symbolism/hidden meanings that you can't make sense of
>>43146742This, and the constantly-active fear impulse of the schizophrenic mind makes whatever the schizo sees as affirmative to whatever the schizo was already afraid of.
A small percentage of schizophrenics are psychotic, and not everyone who's psychotic is schizophrenic. Functioning schizos can process symbolism just fine without hyperfixation. This thread has more to do with psychosis.
>>43146712Surprisingly true for this one truly insane schizo i know who obsessively posts ai music videos with 2 views each. Other than that its not a phenomenon that i know of tho
