does anyone else feel lately that the internet is extremely...empty?
I subscribe to the dead internet theory heavily, however I also think that with the influx of short videos on every platform- that itself has been a big proponent as to what you call empty.I grew up in the mid to late 90s so I remember the internet seemingly being just a cool hobby, but now it's more money oriented. The quaint little homey village essentially turned into a concrete jungle.
>>43143146It’s fuller. But not with more people but with more bots. Bots just talking to bots.
>>43143146The internet isn't empty. The users are dead inside. This give the appearance of no life.
>>43143207Yeah this is kind of it. There is virtually no OC or nothing original at all anymore. There's not even really humour. If you go into random threads on any board or any where really on the internet nobody is joking, no wit, no anything. It's just dry dead pan lifeless discussion.
>>43143146https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoTQPoz9_AsHope my boy Luke answers your question
yeah i feel /x/ is empty
>>43143218>There's not even really humour. If you go into random threads on any board or any where really on the internet nobody is joking, no wit, no anything. It's just dry dead pan lifeless discussion.try reddit for that
>>43143250This smarmy sarcastic female bitchiness and troll mentality really ruined a lot of the internet. All the cat batting over identity and ego. The internet was anonymous for a reason. Now faggots wear their gay little masks and call themselves the shit. But they only smell bad.
>>43143263they have a hole in them that needs to be filled. do with this information what you will
>>43143146The culture war being mainstream is actively hostile towards a creative culture (instead favoring dogmatic allegiance in everything you say or do), bot spam is just icing on the already falling apart cake.People do make interesting stuff still, but they aren't the "winners" of this new internet culture. Rotting in your chair and picking fights with randos is the new ideal.
>>43143146The internet has been pretty mid lately.
>>43143146ironically after the singularity this site is the only place where it's easy to tell the penumatics vs the NPCs/Bots/LLMsif you mean you haven't been seeing many posts on your social media sites it's because either you're about to be hit by the black hole (time speeding up) or people are literally shifting out of your timeline
>>43143223He's not totally wrong, but he's forgetting that the Internet (art) is a reflection of society, and society has always fractured itself for a nearly infinite number of reasons, and yes, if you want to interact with any of it, you the individual must submit to regulations. The difference today, the real difference, is that instead of a hundred thousand well thought out blogs, you have millions of half-baked youtube video;et al because the content-cash-machine demands fast turnover. So, it's the fault of money-chasers and ironically the fault of those who wish to be seen and heard.Hear of any great blogs lately? No, not unless you got lucky by searching a niche section of your already niche topic. For example, I recently found a real blog on an older film. The blogger was rightfully complaining about the altered DVD of said film. It wasn't very long, yet it was a breath of fresh air. Could be have made a video? Certainly, but like that Luke guy there just said, youtube wants long videos now and real content makers know this, so they don't bother filling the micro-niches now.
The biggest reason the Internet is turning bad is because bad people want to punish anyone who goes against their message and the internal mechanisms that help such people have gotten more robust. So instead of a wide open marketplace with town criers and regular people being content to let everyone have their say, we're instead being controlled by people who loved being controlled. Why? For money mostly in the end. The novelty of the Internet has worn off and now we are at the pure extraction phase. Now, I'm not demonizing someone who wants to make an honest buck, but I am saying that often people are now allowing themselves to be controlled in the HOPES of making a buck, regardless of how awful or how helpful that content may be.Personally, if a great effort has been made and there's good discussion, then some money to be made isn't a bad thing. However, more often than not you got people willingly destroying a niche for everyone, just so they can make a literal buck. I said literal. That's how bad it is. We got so many people willingly shoving themselves into a little box (censoring themselves) in the hopes that maybe they can extract a little something here and there. People see that and copy it, or they are reviled by it and refuse to participate it. Both perpetuate the "empty Internet" phenomena. tl;dr don't censor and don't do *everything* for a buck can help.
Sorry for the typos. The funny part I suppose is that I feel somewhat like a sucker for even making those previous two long posts because chances are high some soulless moron will come along and pretend that they thought it out, then shit out a video on YT or tik tok complete with annoying ADD-style edits and over-edits to appeal to those with actual ADD/ADHD.
>>43143146Yeah because I scared all the lames off.
>>43147092This is a good topic because it feels paranormal when it isn't, but maybe that's what makes it paranormal. We know something abnormal is happening, but it feels so normal.Take /tv/ for instance. Over there it's not common for many users to demonize others just for having physical content. They then pretty much act like there's a magical torrent fairy that provides them their pirated goods (not making a moral judgement here either way) and they lash out hideously at anyone who doesn't find their shortsightedness to be the apex of intelligent thought and that they are the most witty people of all-time.They want all the nice things, but they don't want the nice people that used to be behind those nice things. After that, the nice people who make the nice things go away from the Internet, or they become read-only, like someone who comments on youtube videos only, or who just makes short videos and disables comments. The solutions present themselves.
*not uncommon for many users;etcDone now. Thanks for reading my actual mini-blog on OP's topic.
>>43143250Reddit has never been funny, and has always relied on bots and alt accounts who spam extremely shitty puns and just go "God bad haha trannies good lol omg orange man"

>>43143146Jesus foretold that the hearts of men would grow cold with inequity in the final days. He indicated that He would return in two thousand years. Jesus died on the cross for our sins 33 AD + 2000 = 2033 - 7 year Tribulations = 2026. Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, the Rapture will likely be on the 31st, the same day Noah rose into the air in the ark with the rising water. Everything in the bible mirrors other historical events, Noah was 600 years old when he rose into the sky in the ark, the Bride of the Church will rise any day now when Earth is 6,000 years old.>>43143207

>>43143146The best way to avoid the enshittification of the internet is to join hobby communities that have a barrier to entry, which will filter the dumb fuck Youtubers/Twitch streamers/viewers out. The problem is AI made it relatively easy to pretend you have expertise and invade those communities. The natural conclusion is the honest people leave, the shitters remain./x/ has some interesting people but it's near impossible to put a barrier to entry as you can't really have some mystical vetting process, so it's destined to enshittification, currently protected only by its niche status, and even then has been subject to /pol/ tourists on the regular. If I could find some way to filter the shitters from good faith discourse on /x/ then god bless. If you find yourself in a Discord server with like, 30 people who are all on the same page, count your blessings and shut off invites until some solution is found. Rather than Dead Internet Theory, the larger internet culture is trying to assimilate anything smaller than it. And I'd rather die than turn into some dumb fuck drama Twitch streamer or the sycophants.
>>43147567This is by far the worst outcome. The idea of everyone just hiding away in separate little caves defeats the very idea of what the net was originally for.
>>43147348It's a timeline bifurcation split
>>43147348He did not say he'd return in 2000 years, and Jesus doesn't appear first, the antichrist appears first, and there is no rapture. It's not in the Bible.
>>43143218>>43143250Reddit isn't humour, its more like a never ending amateur comedy hour, with lame jokes galore
>>43147728Agreed, but the alternative is getting outnumbered by bad faith astroturfers, or people that want to leech off a community but not be a part of the community (ai/tech bros). As of yet, an alternative solution hasn't been found, at least not a generic one.Maybe once the AI bubble pops, not as many people can afford to spam or hijack these communities. Maybe after the economy crashes there will be less political extremists astroturfing communities once it's clear their belief system is a failed one. Maybe things naturally heal over time. But until then these isolated caves are more like bunkers. You do not open the doors to a /pol/fag, a plebbitor, ai spam, etc, unless you're fine with that being the majority.
>>43147348>Jesus foretold that the hearts of men would grow cold with inequity in the final days.Anyone could just assume that and be 'proven right' given how shitty this world is.The Bible is just a list of excuses and redirecting the blame onto retarded meat puppets when our lives are being simulated by these retarded angles in a matrix. >>43148424That thread is trvke, after Covid there was a time I just started saying “the world is dead”.We are in a Great Depression, but different. The scam economy has been pushed into the spotlight, and everyone has sorta become a scam artist by necessity. >>43143171>>43143207These, it’s not empty of people, it’s empty of individuals. On /x/ you see some very unique folk, describing singular or rare experiences. Most other places you see members of different crowds, all following the crowd, chasing the dragon, spouting the slogans, encountering any one of them is nearly the same as encountering another. You can see on /pol/ people get dragged into this, if you watch the maga or ukrain fighting from afar and take yourself out of it, you can just watch 2 people go back and forth in every thread, spouting a slogan, posting some video of someone getting blown up or suiciding or trump being gay or feigning trump is based for something that is dumb, or whatever, and it’s obvious these should be ignored, but some people get sucked into it.
>>43143146OP is unaware of bots. Sure are a lot of people around here.OP discovers bots. Where did all the people go?
>>43148424The amount of people in my village has only increased, but they're all faceless. They don't show up anywhere, maybe at the store, I don't know anyone who knows them, they live in developer neighbourhoods and sit there. But I'm talking about something bigger, the lack of any conscious thought wherever I go, it is so tiresome to constantly hear the same braindead takes. It wouldn't be so bad if they kept to themselves, they have the right to a differing opinion. The problem is they insist on sharing their dogshit point of view with everyone and cover their ears when met with any arguments.I don't know if other conscious people are just keeping quiet and trying not to stand out, or if there are just none.I feel tired.
>>43151599If you say anything original, people just look at you weird as they're conditioned to shut anything down to feign wisdom. Say anything that a "politically minded adult" didn't consider and watch them short circuit live. See how everyone hates artists these days but the moment they make something that hits everyone wants to leech off of them.People are so afraid of being wrong that nothing new is explored, and brings across that NPC vibe.
>>43143218>nobody is joking, no wit, no anythingThat's not true, come on.
>>43143218I always try to make OC in the threads I frequent.I agree with the general sentiment of your post, and that's why I try to breathe life into those little communities, the last remnants of something great that we used to have. Sure, sometimes it's a miss, but sometimes I'll see an anon repost my image, and it feels like I added instead of just taking. I have a collage saved of a bunch of (you)s I got for one edit. I didn't make it to post anywhere, I didn't do it for clout, but it made me happy that I made others laugh and I wanted to save it as a reminder.
>>43143146What the fuck is the point of being on the main protocol for internet? The only things that matter are walled off gardens on here, and those are targeted by feds/shills (paid & slaves) who spam it with bot & ai trolling, as well as CSAM. The websites that aren't walled off, are full of psyops. About 80 percent of comments you see on this protocol are bullshit. They're psyops made by feds & shills, who are often portraying both the enemy they wanna smear, as well as their own side. You can post something about veganism, and the feds will spend thousands of dollars upholding third party corporations that pay for people to go online and pretend to be vegan extremists and "concerned citizens/organizations" posting about the harms and dangers of a vegan diet. This shit happens all the time to just about everything the government hates. >Inb4 not my 4chan!!!4chan is as heavily monitored and controlled as Facebook is. Maybe even more. It's even better because they can have the agents act anonymously, pretending to be retarded or crazy to shit up your thread. That and or derail it into something off topic and controllable..IE; Idpol (racism/sexism/hyper-identity LGBT/Identity-ism)They are spending thousands of dollars to promote AI specifically on here and creating memes to induce psychosis in the average Anon. Most of you people are being programmed to kill and don't even know it.

>>43143250>if you want humor go to redditanon really thinks 4chan is srs bsnsTrying way too hard for confirmation killed the internet. How did you even post without getting caught for spam detection?
>>43152020The last part of that post got a bit off the rails to what I was saying. But I mentioned the last two (AI/MEMES) because psychological wars are, in the modern world, memetic wars. Idpol is just another variant on meme warfare. It's just the easiest variant because, when you get people obsessed with their "brand", you can get them to completely disengage from reality entirely. Meme warfare, when used as the most refined variant of idpol, is successful because it takes philosophy and turns it into a bite sized model. It makes extremely complex subjects and ideas into something profoundly simple and thus, infectious. Clavicular is an excellent example of this. Alot of people hate the guy, but people far outside of the original black pill community he was embedded in, now subscribe to his ideology. Chud and maxxing have become part of standard lexicon. This gets into AI. Technology is not inherently neutral. Technology is a material form of ontology. It's trying to reveal something about reality. Different cultures have had different philosophies of technology as such. The philosophy of it, within a Christian society (much of the world), is that it's revealing existence is a kind of divine machine. That machine is meant to produce suffering. Now guess what else? Christianity is a meme religion. It's idpol, all the way down. It's such successful idpol and memes that it split off from its original founder to be made purely into a meme cult.So the philosophy of what technology does in a Christian society isn't just that it reveals the divine machine (that produces suffering). It's also that it controls the flow and production of memes. Ai is the height of Christian technology. It produces memes and is designed to reveal and maximize untold suffering. Glowies share it on here and promote it's usage because they're hoping to cause a memetic virus to grow in 4chan and infect the entire world into using their evil technology.

I lived the 00's internet era. And it was so much more fun. It totally is an objective truth that sites like YT have been dumbed down on purpose, we can't even rate the videos anymore like we used to, they only shows the likes and hide the dislikes. Man, why is the case that thigns become a worse version of what they used to be? Why is the case that very seldom the opposite happens, something which is good and becomes even better?
