I almost never visit /x/, but I genuinely believe there is something spiritual/metaphysical going on with this event. Something even looks deeply wrong with Ethan, physically, in the recent episodes of his podcast. It all makes me scared to even think about.

Well duh, the real manipulation is coming from the reaction channels covering the story.

You see, the demographics they’re targeting are chronically online anyway. Engagement bait isn’t the goal. Firstly, the story never changes, so what you’re seeing is reactionary channel curating the reaction to a very objective situation. This will cause a complete collapse of trust in terms of gender biased reporting. So people are picking up on just how bad the dating situation is, it’s quite cold.
Now why do you see this? Ethan was a very prominent troll online and upset a ton of people, so things will heavily favor the engagement surrounding the karma surrounding this guy I watch, all while watching a very manipulative women destroy a (justifiably toxic) relationship, every story needs a victim and villain, if there isn’t an obvious one(everyone in this scenario isn’t likeable to the general public) the narrative will morph to accommodate this for viewers.
This will cause a problem because the audience can’t help themselves.
