Collecting graveyard dirt from the grave of my great grandparents on Halloween as an amulet: good or bad idea?
Going to have a picnic and clear off the headstone and leave an offering of tobacco and rum and say some prayers, light a candle. I didn’t know them but there was generational trauma/ abuse in my family I’ve worked to overcome. Family was traditionally Catholic.

>Generational trauma
If it didn't happen to you there's nothing to overcome. Don't lie to yourself. That's worse than whatever hocus pocus shit you're up to. Which does nothing btw.

No I mean my dad yelled and was violent and his parents were violent drunks and so on. He did his best with what he had, was better than his father, I’ll try to be better than him. I heard my grandma was molested and she wound up getting postpartum depression and tried to drown him in the bathtub, that’s the kind of thing I mean

If you don’t really know whether or not they were decent people, I’d be worried about binding yourself to some dark energy OP

Why no ouija session?
