First of all some caveats:1. Results may vary.2. This is compatible with all religions.3. Many of you already know this. I'll talk about the practice more than the theory.4. I'm not selling anything, this is free information sharing.5. Mercury is called Spirit in classical Alchemy. I use the term differently and I'll show why.6. These ideas have not been created by me and come from many, far more illustrious sources. I have merely found a particular distillation that has worked for me.About me:>almost 30>balding and obese>life-long depression >likely undiagnosed ADHD>last 6 years spent as a recluse>socially anxious (fawning when forced to interact)>one year on SSRIs (literal venom by the way)>almost committed self-deletion a month agoThen I come across some knowledge in the least likely of places: youtube pick up artists. If you are like me, your "bullshit meter" is probably spiking. It was a video about how to become a magnet for chicks and make them lust after you. I rolled my eyes, but clicked out of curiosity. The video was actually an hour long dissertation on the teachings of Gurdjieff (some of you might have even seen this video in your home feed). He was a fascinating mystic with some rather unorthodox ideas. I don't subscribe to most of them, but his three methods to obtain a "soul" made something click inside me. They made perfect sense and seemed to translate into practice all the airy philosophical knowledge I had gathered across the years. According to Gurdjieff, most people are machines and don't have a soul (literal NPCs), but that soul can be obtained by putting in the work. I want you to pay attention to these three techniques:1. Sexual Transmutation2. Self-remembering3. Intentional Suffering (many people misunderstand this)[Continues...]
>>43128127==1. Sexual Transmutation==This is basically semen retention. But it's not semen retention out of prudishness or a distorted idea of purity. It's semen retention in order to build up sexual energy, which is in essence creative energy. If you're a skeptic, just think about what semen is used for: it is used to create life, which is the only thing within ourselves that makes us similar to God, or whatever cosmogonic power you believe in. Secondly, there's a psychological element to it which is of utmost importance in this process. Your semen is valuable because you are valuable. To waste it on your toilet is a pure act of self-disrespect. The objective is to cultivate this energy, feel the warmth, feel the erotic and use it in a way that is a bit more spiritually salient than emptying your balls like an animal. It's not a lifelong commitment and sexual intercourse with the right person can even contribute to your sexual energy, just like intercourse with the wrong person can have the same effect of jacking off. You can tell instinctively by how you feel after sex. I felt drained every time with my ex, which has probably contributed in part to my current state. Furthermore, it physiologically increases your testosterone and cleans your dopamine receptors.
>>43128134==2. Self-remembering==You've heard a thousand times how good meditation is for you, but you've never done it consistently. Neither have I. Well, self-remembering is easier to do (can be done anywhere and anytime) and it is, in my experience, far superior. Most people act on autopilot and they forget about the Ego (the real 'I'). Defining the Ego, which in men can also be called the WILL, is crucial. Randomly, as you are going about your day (working or walking or talking with someone) keep doing whatever you're doing, but pay attention to:- Your emotions (neutral is very rare, try finding your actual emotional state)- Your senses (what you're smelling, touching, hearing etc.)- Your physical sensations (cold, muscular pain, dry mouth etc.)- Your thoughts (the random things you were thinking about, your worries etc.)Keep this state of observation for as long as you can. By observing your mind and body, you subconsciously realize that someone is doing the observing: that is your TRUE SELF. It's the one thing that separates you from animals. After reading this, you will likely start doing this without even noticing. You will be shocked by how much of your life is spent in auto-pilot.
>>43128134==3. Intentional suffering==Don't whip yourself, that's not what this means. It is choosing the hardest path when the easier option is available. It is going against your animal instinct that maximizes pleasure and minimizes suffering. If the previous exercise individuated the WILL, this one defines it. According to Gurdjieff, doing this creates literal warmth inside you, a friction. To the animal this feels uncomfortable, for the sovereign Man this is inebriating. In psychology, this is also called the "locus of control". The animal way has an external locus of control (I can't do this because of this external reason), whereas Man should have an internal locus of control (I choose not to do this or I will do this anyways). So the idea is: whatever makes you uncomfortable, do that thing. If you can't, do something else but you must use your WILL to do it. WILL is not a verb, it is a literal part of you. It is the only true part of yourself.ALL OF THESE TECHNIQUES ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE. You cannot do one, but not the other. They only work when done together. Of course while Gurdjieff defined them, he did not invent them. They are present in one way or another in a lot of esoteric and mystical traditions, the closest being mystical Christianity. An important point is that the objective is ABSOLUTELY NOT to eliminate pleasure. It is the opposite of that. You have to use the lust accumulated from the sexual transmutation and imagine life itself as a divine feminine. Lust for life, make love with life. Savour every smell, taste and sight. You will find that your animalistic mechanic behaviour almost never lets you enjoy the sensual pleasures of life. Don't eat slop and distract yourself with youtube. Smell the food, look at the food, let your tongue touch the food and then taste it slowly. Focus completely on every action you are taking.
>>43128146== The Mind ==As I've said, I don't agree with Gurdjieff on everything. The one who got the closest to understanding the human machine, in my opinion, was Jung and especially his intuition that alchemy, and the esoteric in general, are manuals about the transmutation of the self from lead to gold. You are divided in the three primes:- Sulphur (the Ego, the Will, the Spirit, the Soul)- Mercury (the Mind, the Messenger, the Trickster)- Salt (the Body, the Instinct, the Physical)THE BIGGEST REALIZATION I HAVE HAD IS THAT THE MIND IS NOT YOU. This may sound basic to many and it would have sounded basic to me years ago as well. The difference is that knowledge, ironically, often remains in the mind. Many things we believe we "know", we do not truly "understand".The thing that has helped me understand this concept is the fact that Mercury is much more than elemental quicksilver. Mercury is the greco-roman archetype of the trickster, which is the perfect way to describe the mind. The trickster has many important characteristics that define it:- it is not a cartoonish villain, its morals are difficult to discern.- it is more intelligent and more cunning than you, even if you are a literal God.- it will never bend to your will and always finds a way to emerge victorious or strike a deal. The animal bends to the trickster. The mind interprets the signals of the body and the animal obeys. Loud sound leads to spike in cortisol which leads to hiding. The animal has no choice. Man has to find a way to control the mind but it is not as easy as it sounds. Some try forcing the mind to obey. That never works and when it does it always backfires. Some try ignoring the mind but that gives it more power, since it can act in the shadow (all Jungian shadows and archetypes are merely masks worn by the trickster). The best way to deal with the mind is through compromise and acceptance. To better understand this, let's look at the story of Mercury/Hermes himself.
>>43128149==The Story of Hermes==As a newborn, Hermes stole Apollo's cattle (Apollo being the Sun God, a representation of the Masculine Will). He made the cattle walk backwards and devised clever ways to confuse anyone who might follow him. Then he hid the animals and went back to his cradle. Apollo realized that Hermes was the thief. Furious, he went to confront him but the newborn made up all possible excuses, disarming Apollo. So they both went to Zeus (who represents the integrated Man) and Apollo accused Hermes of the theft. Zeus did not react in anger, instead he laughed, amused by his newborn son's audacity. Nevertheless, he ordered Hermes to return the cattle. On that same day Hermes had also invented the lyre. Apollo, who was furious at his half-brother, was intrigued by the instrument and struck a deal with Hermes. Apollo would receive the lyre and Hermes would receive the Caduceus: a golden staff with two wings and two snakes intertwined. For my purposes, I interpret the rod as the connection between the Tria Prima ascending from body to soul; the serpents are the energy that travels upwards, the coniunctio oppositorum; the wings are the symbol of freedom, the liberation of the Ego, represented by the knob at the top of the rod. There's another crucial aspect of the interpretation: Hermes is a newborn which is a very weird detail since most newborns can't even see. Yet, Hermes does all this on his birth day. It's obviously a symbol. The immature mind is the trickster. Once the Ego makes peace with the mind and befriends it, then it becomes the messenger. Apollo is also traditionally represented as an ephebe, a young man. This represents an immature Ego, which tries confronting the mind through anger and force. This is why I call the Sulphur "spiritus". There's a distinction between spirit as in alcoholic beverage (usually represented by Mercury in classical alchemy) and spirit in the latin sense of vitality or breath. The will IS vitality.
>>43128154==The Feudal Metaphor==The best way I've found to understand myself is the feudal analogy. Your body are the soldiers, servants and peasants. Your mind is the advisor. You are the Emperor (Ego).Imagine the following scene: the peasants are hungry and they send a message to the advisor. The advisor panics and tells the Emperor. The immature mind will panic whether you're starving in a desert or you're skipping breakfast. The mind will try every trick in its arsenal to make you eat. Most people try and debate the mind: this is a losing approach that never works, it will always outsmart you. In the end, they acquiesce and give in and, like animals, they eat. Their Ego is essentially absent. Now imagine yourself sitting on the throne when that happens. The advisor, a sweaty panicking scheming courtier, comes in and tells you "Emperor, if you don't eat you won't be able to sleep". The only correct answer is "Then we don't sleep". The sovereign issues orders and bears the consequences. It doesn't tell the advisor "it's only until noon, nothing will happen". The advisor will answer "But what difference would it make if you ate a little bit earlier? Please." You become entangled in the trickster's web, you have lost. I have hyper-identified with my mind for years, it had complete power over me. The mind is capable of wondruous things but authority is not one of them; it can't run an Empire. As you show your executive authority and the mind notices that it has made the realm better, it will learn to follow your will on its own. The objective is to "befriend" the mind, as Apollo did with Hermes. The fact that there is a clear hierarchy, does not mean that the lower parts are less important than the Emperor. The Emperor without peasants cannot feed himself and the Emperor without courtiers cannot delegate and look over a vast realm. Furthermore, authority is good for everyone. A weak emperor is a disaster for all echelons of society.
>>43128159==The Path of the Magus==As we've seen, animals and mechanical men follow the same script: the external world or factors influence the body, the body sends a message to the mind and the mind either corrupts the Ego or bypasses it entirely. It is only logical that, once you learn to wield the power of the Ego, you can send energy in the opposite direction. When your Ego commands the mind, which commands the body, you can influence the external world. This is Magic. The wand, which is a phallic symbol of the solar will, is the conduit some magicians use to direct that energy. Magic is not something you think, nor something you feel: it is something you will. Even if you are not able or not willing to change the material world, this is the model you should aspire to. The final objective of self-definition is to invert the direction of the path of the animal.==Masculinity==A crucial component of the will is the fact that it is a uniquely masculine attribute. Women of course possess an Ego, but it is fundamentally different. When I speak of the Masculine Will, I am not referring to 'free will' (the basic agency to make choices in life). Women obviously possess agency and willpower. I am speaking of the Will to Power, the masculine, demiurgic impulse to define a trajectory, to will a reality into existence from nothing.[Continues...]
>>43128163The will is vectorial, it directs concentrated energy like a laser. The feminine ego is better understood as a gate. It stops or receives the masculine Ego. Man is the hammer and Woman is the anvil. Without the anvil, a hammer swings aimlessly in the air. When the hammer unites with the anvil, a masterpiece can be created. As you do the three exercises we've discussed, you have to cultivate your masculinity as well, no matter what you currently look like. This will give you confidence and accelerate the process. These are some of the most important aspects to train:- Walk extremely slowly and move deliberately.- Do not smile without reason, but don't scowl either. Maintain a neutral expression and use your warmth as currency. If you always fawn and try to be liked, your warmth will be over-inflated, losing its value. If you choose when and how to reveal warmth, it will feel like a gift and ironically people will like you and respect you more. Please note: a smile is not a grin.- Keep an upright posture. Don't overdo it or you'll look ridiculous. Imagine a string pulling you up by the crown. Your chin slightly angled forward.- Avoid looking down (sometimes you have to, don't trip on a step like an idiot) and never break eye-contact by looking down. Choose when to initiate eye-contact and break it by looking sideways or up. Practice keeping eye contact with strangers, especially women. If they break eye contact, don't keep staring and continue on your own way. Be aware that with men it could lead to confrontation.- Speak little and when you do, do it consciously. Be comfortable in the silence, wait a little longer before answering and take your time. Don't fill the silence with "emm" or random fillers. Actually, the more you wait and the more gravitas you'll have.- Don't look at your phone and be present, practicing self-remembering and savoring life.- Always say thanks but never say sorry, unless you truly are at fault and have to apologize.
>>43128174==My Experience==Finally, I will tell you my real experience. After spending six years as a recluse I decided to approach life not as a burden but as an experiment. I was curious to see whether all of this would actually work. I stopped jacking off (though the real benefits come in about two weeks), I practiced self-remembering and did my voluntary suffering by going out for a walk in the park. My social anxiety was spiking, I felt observed, the trickster mind was feeding me constant messages of self-hatred "they're laughing at you" "you look like an idiot" etc. But the difference is that this time I saw the mind for what it was: a baby trickster that's trying to provoke me. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to put these thoughts aside as something that was not "me".The day after I willed to fast until noon. I did taxes, responded to emails and messages, called some customer service and took an executive decision about my future all before lunch. Those same tasks had paralyzed me for months. That was weird, I thought. The day after I had a minor surgery, I had to put four suture points. I was relaxed and felt no pain afterwards, even when the effects of the anaesthetic wore off. That evening I had to go to the pharmacy to get antibiotics and practiced my anti-fawn protocol. Now, one thing you should know is that despite my weight and lifestyle, I have a naturally large body. I have a sleeper strongman build. I noticed immediately that when I entered the pharmacy, the lady at the counter felt uncomfortable. When I approached the lady I remained neutral and made my request politely (politeness is not fawning, don't be an asshole), she was still pretty cold. At the end of the transaction I deliberately chose to make a joke and reveal my warmth. The smile on her face went from ear to ear, she completely relaxed and the interaction ended on a positive note. I, the recluse, had made someone's day better.[Continues...]
>>43128180The following day I really didn't want to go out, yet when I heard my mind agreeing with me, something clicked. I am, like an Emperor, trying to reclaim my authority after years of absence. The will is called such because you can redirect it as you see fit. Even if I truly did not want to go out, I focused my will on going out instead. And I did one of the things that I disliked the most: buying clothes. I continued my social experiments, walked slowly and took my sweet time. I went to pay and tried the same routine again. However the joke came too early and I inadvertently caused a hot-cold dynamic instead of a cold-hot one. Just like warmth is a gift, retaining warmth is a punishment. Be aware of this. The woman at the counter who seconds earlier was laughing out loud in the middle of the store literally folded in half, at the end was visibly submissive, avoiding my gaze. This felt bad but, in the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter and I have learned a lesson. The mind, predictably, had a field day: "She thought you were a creep" "you are a terrible person" "you are a manipulator". I let the trickster speak. This also showed how easy it is to modulate people's emotions when you're in control. Use it responsibly.
>>43128186The next day, Saturday, I wanted to test my limits: I went to a big mall in the peak hour, probably the thing I hated the most. I Went to several shops, but this time I decided to let go and just observe social interactions as they came. This is an important moment, it's when you realize that the will does not think. It does not stop and calculate the angle of your brow or the seconds of eye-contact. Bravery and letting go are both qualities of the Will. It is the confidence that you will land on your feet. Apart from some minor stumbles, it went great. Then I wanted to go home, but again... my mind was too eager of this outcome, so I redirected my will and went for a walk in the same park. This is when I realized that self-remembering is also about savoring the moment. I felt a rush of bliss as I was capturing, with all my senses, each moment. The moments of self-remembering during that walk are the only parts that I remember vividly. But I forgot that I had four sutures in my leg and, predictably, they busted open. I went panic mode, the scared animal came back, and I went to the ER (love public healthcare). But I observed my mind, all of its tricks had gone, and as I was waiting for my turn a sense of peace and relaxation overcame me. I waited four hours, without a phone, just observing myself and time flew past. This is nothing short of a miracle for someone like me, who believed (and partly still believes) he had undiagnosed ADHD. After they finally called me, I was lying down on the examination table, with my pants down in a room full of strangers. Not only was I totally relaxed, I was joking and made quick friends with the male nurse who then gifted me like 20 band-aids. I went home that night and I thought "that was fun".
>>43128193This is the unadulterated truth about what has happened to me over the course of five days, although the shift has happened really in 72 hours. And this is the reason why I felt it was of the utmost importance to share this with others. A month ago I could have taken my life and left this world forever and now, somehow, I am lusting after life like a horny teen. Please try this. Even if it doesn't work, at least know that there is something out there that will make you click. Peace.
Very interestingI believe youI'm still reading but I can see this knowledge helped you to socialize; I don't have that problem. I want to heal my body... so, what about physical pain? Can this knowlesge be used to heal or avoid physical pain?
Gurdjieff is goated, but his works are difficult to read, and often play games in the vein of Crowley by hiding information behind triple-blind metaphors and ponderous narrative.
>>43128210Pain is the most primal animal reaction, it directly triggers your survival instinct. It's not an easy feat, but if you read the whole thing, you'll see that my perception of pain also decreased somehow. Whether it can actually heal, I cannot promise that but I imagine it could. Take care friend.
>>43128127Thank you for this.Very clear, concise, and well constructed. Also, congrats on making it out.
>>43128250That's how they keep the occult as such. Once you look under the hood, most of it is actually pretty understandable stuff. But I think that metaphors are important because they bypass the analytical mind, which acts as a gate to true understanding.
>>43128280And thank you for reading the whole thing, friend

>>43128180> I practiced self-remembering and did my voluntary suffering by going out for a walk in the park.Dude, that hardly counts as suffering. If it is hard for you I am glad that you are working through your problems.>The day after I willed to fast until noon.Again this is just not eating for most of the day. What it seems like you have done is realize that you were overthinking things and stopped ruminating, I don't think nofap is the missing link
>>43128332my friend, if you overload the body and mind on the first day, you will crumble immediately. These are absolutely trivial things, you are right, but it is just the beginning. The biggest voluntary suffering, and the one that also Gurdjieff recommended, was the social exposure and the acceptance of rejection as an outcome. For a socially anxious person like I was, that's like a knife in the gut.

>>43128127 (OP)I've been thinking deeply on my understanding of my own mind and have come to many of these points on my own, but I was still stuck. I realized once that who I was, was greater than my thoughts and feelings, and that the world around me could be greater as well, but I only remembered and thought will was beyond feelings, and so I've been struggling for a bit, limited by the mind. You helped me realize that was the next frontier to breach, and I'm really thankful you found the will to stick around, figure these things out, and share them. Good luck to you and whatever you try to accomplish.
>>43128199>at least know that there is something out there that will make you clickThe wisest thing you said in this thread. I'm happy you found a way and wish all the success to you and might even try this but I feel my commitment and success is found elsewhere.

>>43128134>This is basically semen retention.Stopped reading here, I have cum cult fatigue.
>>43132476To be fair, Gurdjeff's philosophy is about conserving and transmuting energy from all the body's "centers", not just the sexual one
>>43128127I've spent years reading every esoteric thing I could get my hands on, and you just wrote a perfect summary for what I would call an "initiate exercise". I wish I had seen, and taken seriously, a thread like this back then.
>>43128127When you meet a girl, and she steals all your possessions to sell em for meth and damages you as a person. You’ll wish you could go back to being a bald, depressed, recluse. And ain’t none of that stuff you talking gonna do anything. That’s all COPE. You’re coping rn. If you don’t wanna be a recluse then go tf outside bro, you wanna get laid and don’t get girls then buy a damn hooker and pay her to lay you 5 times a day. If you’re fat, get off your butt and lose the weight. You people who post this stuff have never been thru anything at all. You come on here to cry and complain and cope.
>>43132476I'll respond for the sake of others. The fact that semen retention is getting such a bad reputation is part of the game. Instead of telling you that it is 'bad', they make those who sell it to you unbearable. Just like tarots are associated with crazy larping witches and astrology with shallow women. But all three of these practices have a deep and long history that is outshined by the vanity of modernity. Semen retention is an ancient practice that goes from East to West. It's practiced by virtually all mystical traditions, from Taoism to Christianity. Humility is accepting that perhaps those who came (no pun intended) before us knew something more than we do.
>>43128127Βump for a valuable thread
>>43128127As far as I understand, you are proposing the practice of semen retention, meditation, and the concept of "constantly accepting the mind's negativity" in order to combat social anxiety.I haven't masturbated for five years consistently in order to fight my lack of energy and social anxiety. But now, when I am trying to meet a new girl in a difficult situation—like on a bus or on the street—I still worry about how others will react, and I hesitate. The same goes for making new friends. So, the acceptance of negativity is the tool for overcoming these setbacks.Acceptance means recognizing that the anxiety and hesitation will be there, letting those feelings exist without fighting them, and taking the step anyway.
>>43134473basically yes, your mind is literally tricking you to keep you comfortable. It's not evil, it just wants you to be safe at the end of the day. But if that is not your will, then you must wield your authority. And that warmth you feel at first (shame, panic, anxiety) you have to consider fuel. It means you are actually living. If approaching a girl is a 10 on the panic scale, start by doing easier intentional suffering. Anything that makes you uncomfortable and goes against your instincts. Even something as "simple" as cold showers and fasting.
What's funny to me with these threads is it all seems like it's esoteric knowledge or some huge pain in the ass to do for some while it's just natural for most people that are considered "normies" or "npcs" or whatever. It's good if these things work for you and you're feeling/getting better. But even though you wrote a lot of things and used a lot of different alchemical symbolism and everything it doesn't feel like it's anything special and it's sad to me that it is considered special on /x/.
>>43128146Read The Philosophy of Pathei-Mathos by David Myatthttps://dwmyatt.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/dwm-pathei-mathos.pdf
>>43134673Because it's framed as self-help, many anons are failing to see the potential applications for self-transformation in general. It is a valuable thread, but naturally it's going to be valued by hikki for hikki reasons. I would guess that a lot of /x/ fags have studied alchemy but likewise don't know where to start when it comes to practical application. I came at it from a completely different angle but arrived at the same conclusions as OP; haven't given my take itt in the interest of avoiding confusion.
>>43134818I just don't understand why this peculiar and complex way of thinking about things worked better than the usual "don't watch porn/jack off, meditate a bit, go touch some grass and meet people". When you think about it, all of that is just the standard way for people to live their lives. There's no hidden magic anywhere right? So why, how did OP decide that today was a good day to change his ways? Why now and why with alchemical allegory and not 3 years ago naturally?
>>43134673You are reading what happens in five days since applying these principles. Achieving what takes people in therapy years to achieve. And that's not even the end of the process, it is literally just the first step. Do you have any idea what you can achieve when your mind naturally obeys your will? The "NPCs" are such because they cannot even conceptualize the existence of the Ego.My experience is about facing my personal problems, it's not the extent of what can be achieved. You might have a different obstacle that isn't social anxiety. Focus on that instead. The lessons I have learned and shared apply to life in general.
>>43134858because knowledge is not digested logically, and also because it's a little bit more complex than "don't watch porn/jack off, meditate a bit, go touch some grass and meet people". Semen retention requires transmutation, not just nofap. Self-remembering is not meditation, it's about individuating the Ego. Voluntary suffering is not about touching grass, it's about going against the animal instinct. At the beginner level it's going out when you don't want to, at the master level it's fasting for 40 days.
>>43134910>>43134946I'm really not convinced. The theory may vary but the reality is the same. One day you woke up and decided you needed change and started those things that you think may makes your life better. But these things are completely natural for most human beings and it saddens me that it's not for some of us on these parts of the internet. That's all. I just feel like it's unfair that you have to do all this thinking to get to the same results. Again, I'm happy you're getting better if you're the OP and I hope whatever you do work out in the end. But yeah I don't feel like there's anything special to your way of doing things or that complicating simple things by stamping alchemy and other esoteric knowledge on them makes it more valuable than "don't watch porn/jack off, meditate a bit, go touch some grass and meet people".
>>43134858>>43134910>>43134946Nofap, meditation, and touching grass amount to good standard normie advice because they conform to alchemical principles, and they also define the mental horizon for most individuals whose end goal is "wellness." One can go many steps further than this. For instance, Gurdjieff identifies three disciplines that must be followed simultaneously, but can you see how the other two are really identical to self-remembrance? If you develop any one of them, then the other two must follow. At the end of the work the ego is transmuted in gnosis. By the way, this is slightly off topic, but what OP achieved in 72 hours would have taken much longer, not only with standard therapy, but by any means at a different stage in the cosmic cycle. In an age of faith, in a world of form and hierarchy, there are many more obstacles to the discovery of prime matter (identifying the ego). Now any typical loser who gets the right idea might begin, because what we take for granted as an everyday and perfectly mundane condition would have seemed like an extraordinary punishment to the ancients.
>>43135191>By the way, this is slightly off topic, but what OP achieved in 72 hours would have taken much longer, not only with standard therapy, but by any means at a different stage in the cosmic cycleNo that's completely false. You don't really know the OP so you don't know how far gone he was before he decided to act on it. Therapy is useless and a scam. I was depressed for 2 years after covid because I lost all meaning, my job a member of my family and I didn't think about semen retention or whatever to get better. It just happened eventually. I didn't need therapy or anything. I just woke up one day and I saw some opportunity that I naturally took and little by little I started to get better. It's only after all that that I began to get into alchemy for example and other esoteric knowledge. I didn't get into it because I wanted to get better but because I wanted to know more about the principles of this world and the things we can't see. What I'm saying is : you can't truly control most things. Mood, desires, aspirations, depression whatever... There's a reason as to why some people cope with therapy. These things are either fixed on their own or they aren't. "Gnosis" means nothing. You can know everything about yourself or the world around you but if the flow of things decides that tomorrow you'll be sick and become crazy then it'll just happen.
>>43135248What you say about depression is true but I'm not really sure how it contradicts anything I said. It doesn't exactly prove my conclusion, but your story is fully consistent with it.It's a fundamental misunderstanding that gnosis means knowledge about something or that yourself is an object of knowledge. Gnosis is awareness that is only aware of itself. It can't get sick and go crazy, and the body that is subject to illness and madness isn't you. The contrary belief is in fact a pathological delusion.
>>43135248First, you can't know the principles of the world without knowing the principles within yourself.Secondly, I wish I could claim I came up with the application of alchemical principles to the understanding of the self, but it was Carl Jung who did that. And I think he was pretty influential at that. And you CAN control mood, desires, aspiration and even depression once you become aware of and use the will. That is the whole point.
>>43128127Almost dropped at the semen retention thing thinking this was the everyday shilling of /x/ but stayed after the solid hermes analogy. Anyone can screencap the thread?
>>43135311>Gnosis is awareness that is only aware of itself. It can't get sick and go crazy, and the body that is subject to illness and madness isn't you. What does this mean realistically? Genuinely asking. From what I know gnosis is basically intuition as opposed to rational thought. It implies a personal connection with the divine but to me it always sounded like a larp.
>>43135635
>>43128127this entire thread boils down to platos flying chariot
>>43135871You couldn't larp it, because it has no qualities to imitate. What's intuition exactly? How, for instance, do you know that the same thing cannot be and not be in the same respect at the same time? There is no how, you just know it. It's a principle. If there were a way to explain it then that explanation would be the principle.Likewise, how do you know that you exist? Your existence is your knowledge of your existence, so you know that you are just by being as you are. This is how intuition relates to gnosis. Gnosis is simply self-knowledge. By knowing yourself, you know everything there is to know. It's not a personal connection to the divine, it is the divine.
>>43136245So it's just words, concepts and ideas but nothing that you can actually use in your day to day life or to reach some otherworldly knowledge or power. It's nothing, just a larp. It's basically just like faith.
>>43136264Are you a concept? But yes it's completely useless. If you need something useful in your life, then you know firsthand why so few seek true knowledge and why even fewer attain it.
>>43136285Every time I touch upon this subject online the person I'm talking with only seem to communicate with riddles. How can you talk about "true knowledge" if it's something that's useless? I really can't wrap my head around it. If you feel like all the work you're doing is useless in this material world then why do it anyway? Do you believe in another world after death? If so it's as I said, just faith and nothing else. If not then plz explain
>>43136327We pursue knowledge purely for the sake of knowing and not to subordinate it to any use. We consider this material world and the next one alike as equal to dreams.
>>43136603I also talked about pursuing knowledge earlier to which anon answered:>It's a fundamental misunderstanding that gnosis means knowledge about something or that yourself is an object of knowledge
>>43136613Correct. Gnosis is objectless. If the object known appears in a dream, then to really know it means to know the dreamer.

>>43136724oh well..
>>43135871Think about how it is that you are aware of your body and are able to control it. Meditate on the phenomenon that is you willing yourself to move, and the phenomenon of you "being" your body and your mind. This is gnosis.
>>43136327Everyone is different that is trueBut everyone is similar in that we have the same identifiable parts.Arms legs blood bones...reactions to pain or pleasure is where it starts to take deviations....but based on what and how and why? Some answers are not just not helpful to some but straight poison and if heavily misunderstood it goes to the lethal category.Words are just words but depending how and when the same words said have different meaning. When you see riddles you see them as something useless. But if someone tells you straight what is the truth you cannot use it. That would be just blind belief based on nothing.A riddle acts as a miniature scene which tries to take you through a process of emulation which rewards you with the same words and straight truth but now with some backbone behind those words. At least that is how i interpret it... I am not saying riddles are good for everyone or they are needed but if i usually say something smart to someone else which it took me 20years to get to they will handle it like nothing.... And anyway if the world is really based on everyone's own perception to aid evolution and branching off to different dimensions and realities then saying whatever is useless or at best aids at the part if someone is at their 'teacher phase' to help them learn through teaching....
>>43136873There was a few words about woman being the anvil and such.I take a different approach at them. Right now for a few minutes i am looking at them as something that gives outline. Some say protection. Or a house. Like the vagina as you arrive makes up the house the walls...but also the outline. Kind of the border to protect against infinity. Without borders infinity consumes everything and becomes death. A road without ending is constant death. Even an immortal just stands still on a road to infinity as basically dead.A woman giving walls, stability and purpose and refinement and infinitely orbiting around them or going at their depths might be the same as infinity but i would rather be in a woman's infinity vagina then against infinite loneliness and pain (as i am on right now...well hopefully not for long)...Or maybe it is just like breathing...and i need it in and out to have balance but if the out is long th ein will be also long in a woman as long things can seem infinite...
>>43136827I think about it often but it just seems natural to me, automatic. It almost feels like it's not really me that does all that. im loser that barely went outside for the past 10 years. Im all the time in my head, im very internal not external. that makes me overthink shit all the time. Not only that. The demon that is attached to me changes my thinking to negative. When i just look at any person i feel immense fear. When i finally meet person i can't talk with him becouse my mind gets "blocked" so supossedely im mean to be all alone. Im also pierceved as very boring becouse of that internality and low energy so people don't even decide to get closer to me. I can feel the weight on my whole body. Its his spirit. Just now i asked that demon to leave me. He left my head for few minutes. The weight was pulled of my head. I instantly become very external, clear, fast thinking, no fear of anything with energy.I somehow can feel that when he "blocks" my mind i feel big pressure on different parts of my brain. When i want to learn something he puts pressure to my prefrontal cortex so i can't learn shit so i give up. So those cartoonisly evil demons really exist. I want to do parasite cleanse. Maybe it will kick this demon out and i will start to live normal life.
>>43143269I believe you, but my theory is that demons are real but only exist within your mind. In Christian terms, your mind has the capacity of being Satan or the Holy Spirit at the same time. Perception is reality. An untrained and scared mind can literally feel like a real demon, I don't think a parasite cleanse is necessary. Try the techniques and see if they work. Good luck friend.
Good thread. I think boredom is an indicator of power dynamics within, the will-mind-body dynamics that is. Bored when still? Mind is wrestling for control. Not bored when still? Will is in control, mind is following.
>>43143852that's very true, "will" never gets bored why would it?
>>43143852>>43144262what if someone has no will anymore after many failures? That person still has the means to survive and live a little but doesn't have any will to be better than yesterday like he did before? That person wants nothing
>>43144474will can be trained, but I guess some people lack it completely. just to be clear will to power =/= willpower in the general sense. But basically if you can't have will it means you can't have a soul either
>>43144474If they want nothing, could they go without food for a day or two? Without sleep for a night or two? What I'm saying is, if you exhaust your body and mind, will shall return. More exactly, access to will shall be regained
Very interesting.
Now what if I fail at step one?
Great thread
>>43128127In all practices that I've read to get a hold of your life and control of yourself as an individual, meditation is always key. The problem is I can't meditate for shit. Whenever I try to meditate, panic gets me. I'm scared to meditate. Every time it feels that there's something that will get me if I'm not here on my full attention to stop it. Someone watching. The same as people who are afraid of the dark.On another note. I have a question. What do you gain by telling us this? There's something I've always questioned and it's if you have a recipe for success, whatever it is, why would you share it with strangers?
>>43145369I used to make my friends close their eyes and I would perform a soft hypnosis on them. They were, by all intents and purposes, normies. They all freaked out and saw scary figures, black shadows, ghostly women etc. My theory is that they were conscious enough to understand what was going on, but unconscious enough to feel like they were vulnerable. I'm not saying that you are a normie, that detail was just to show that even normies are susceptible to this (I used it to convince them of the spiritual dimension and it usually worked, some of them cried even). My theory is that the limbo state is what creates fear. It's what happens (1000x) when you take DMT and are in the waiting room between consciousness and unconsciousness. The only way to avoid that sense of dread is to 'let go', which is easier said than done. It's possible that either your gate between the conscious and unconscious is wider than most people or you have a lot of repressed shadows.Try self-remembering, you don't have to close your eyes and you never lose consciousness. In fact, if anything, you gain consciousness and might be able to confront those shadows head on.Regarding your fair question: even if I share the recipe for success, it is pointless if you can't cook. The knowledge itself acts as a filter. You see people stopping at the first point because they can't let go of their vices. Others unable to understand nuance. Those who are actually in need of this knowledge will find it and if I can make even just one person not kill themselves then my 'mission' would be accomplished.
>>43145880NTA but any tips on making hypnosis work on spergs like me with highly analytical INTJ brains? Unfortunately, some of us have very thick layers between the conscious and subconscious minds that are very difficult to crack.
>>43146789It's absolutely not easy, especially when doing it to yourself. The method I used was stupidly simple. I asked them to close their eyes and imagine descending a staircase. I would start a slow countdown from 10, each step making them feel heavier and heavier and the staircase becoming darker and darker, until at the end of the staircase they can feel a door. I ask them to open the door and then say what is inside. Doors are great because they hide things completely, but your brain knows that something *must* be behind it, so it fills in the scene. But I don't think this is doable for self-hypnosis, which is why most people use recordings. The most common are the Gateway Tapes, which you can easily find online for free. Still, it's not easy at all.

Is this why swords in Tarot (mind) are always something about deception? Thx for this thread OP, wish you love and fortune for you and your family
>>43147960I didn't think of that. I always disliked that association in tarots, thinking it was a romantic victorian distortion by Waite. I always saw sword as the suit of reason, logic... alchemical Albedo. But with this in mind it makes more sense. Perhaps tarots need a fifth suit. Anyways, thank you very much anon, wish you and your family the same.
>>43128127>It was a video about how to become a magnet for chicks and make them lust after you. I rolled my eyes, but clicked out of curiosity. The video was actually an hour long dissertation on the teachings of GurdjieffDo you have a link to this video?

>>43147257Thanks man, appreciate. And yeah, it's a bit of a bummer to struggle with auto-suggestion and self-hypnosis. They seem like very powerful tools that make those who are susceptible able to radically change their lives for the better. Hypnotizing myself to believe in hand-selected ideas always fascinated me, offering a world of possibilities, while also always feeling out of reach and unobtainable. But I'll keep trying and searching for new techniques.

>>43150280>>43150559>>43152222checking my own quadsI think I might have found the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IxFUGIKS3kCan OP confirm?
>>43152245I'm OP and I confirm that is the video. I didn't want to link it because it's clearly a harmful channel that preys on insecure young men
>>43152703You are right and people would get a lot more benefit from reading Gurdjieff or what BENMen have been developing than watching that video
>>43128127Many times in the past I had periods where I felt like I am going to change my life but nofap, working out and meditation or reading a million books or watching a million videos about esoteric secrets never had any effect. You probably just feel a high from starting some new thing but will fall back to your old ways after a few weeks or months. In my experience all these systems of spiritual development are a cope. The fundamental things effecting your life are predetermined by genetics and early enviornment. I wish I could believe that you can change and that good action is actually rewarded but I can't convince myself into this when I see history, nature and my own life.
>>43152882same, I've tried a ton of things and none worked. This one felt different (hence why I shared) because it reframes the relationship between the self and the mind, don't stop at the three techniques like others did. It's pointless to say "I'm going to do x, y and z" if you don't know how to treat your mind, which is the culprit behind why all attempts ultimately fail
>>43128127so in a nutshell just a bunch of new age slop you find in crystal mommy books? k. man someone post some REAL occult stuff or something
>>43153689>paracelsian alchemy and greek mythology>new age slopok glowie
Sounds like some Jon Zherka type shit, he rehashes this in a more palpable way for modern ears.
>>43155358there's very little in common, just the fact the both talk about masculinity and self-improvement. But that's something that has always been a crucial part of mysticism. If anything it's Jon Zherka that sounds like this stuff, although he dumbs it down while talking like a retard. Speaking of which, it's "palatable" not "palpable".
>>43152882That's why Atomic Habits is the only SELF IMPROOOV book that works and I recommend to people. It respects the fact that our brains are basically time-blind niggers that hate change, and involves techniques for incremental, atom-sized changes that add up over time. The problem with 99% of self help books or techniques is that they don't respect this principle of the brain hating change. No offense to OP, but "changing my life in 72hrs" is precisely the type of mindset that causes heartbreak for many when they try to go full Goggins mode and 180 a life of avoidance behaviors and being a couch potato. You should look to be just 1% better every day, so you can be 365% better than you are right now when the year is over.
