A school to Secure, Contain and Protect has to be made. Too long has man cowered under the Darkness of the supernatural and the unknown. Its time to shine the light of reason and learn how to defend ourselves.
    Thread Question
    >What are your plans to study the supernatural during Samhain?

    Could be, the Halloween conspiracy!

How difficult would it be to make a real proton pack?

For Halloween? That does sound like fun. I don't know who else you'd be interested in dressing as though.

You basically have to miniaturize the kinds of particle accelerators you find at CERN, etc.

And given that those things are enormous... I'd wager it's pretty difficult.
    >>
    >>43118399
Is there any other method to accelerate a particle?
    >>
    >>43119578
Well you could always try to enchant it

I want to say Ghostface. Jason and Michael are just lumbering hulks. And yeah, one's a zombie and the other's some kind of psychopath or whatever, while Ghostface usually just turns out to be some asshole who dies easily, but I really think the notion that the killer could be ANYONE makes it a lot scarier.

    >>43123140
You can mostly blame the Catholics for that one. I feel like I should just direct you to the Wikipedia or any number of documentaries on the history of Halloween.

I hadn't thought of it, but then again I have been trying to improve my magic. I've been meaning to do something to get a new job, but Halloween seems the time to converse with the dead. The apartment isn't in a great state for entertaining guests though.

    Read picrel.
A city mentioned by Lovecraft did emerge in a desert. Sounds in the oceans, the fact that Lovecraft did auto write much of his stuff, or fell asleep and woke to written stuff, or had Nightmares about it...

    In summary, real shit.

    >In summary, real shit.
If you say so. I mean, far be it from me to dispute the use of fiction in magic. That shit is common as hell, both in historic and modern practice. I've got my own collection of RPG guides and notes I've taken from fiction, because I'm a fucking nerd and who knows what might spark some inspiration?

But I don't know. Something just feels off about claiming these things to be legitimate, as if a skeptic would be unknowingly channeling occult knowledge. Lovecraft himself would be baffled.

I'm just saying, there's room for coincidence, since you're a skeptic *wink*, and faggots have seen me "larping" with lovecraftian stuff a tad bit too much, and those elder signs are still hitting.
Still, what friction you use, because there's fiction and "fiction" and then 'holy shit faggot there's a bloody soggoth and I'm out of ammo fuck you nigger.'

I have. Didn't personally experience anything, but my sister felt someone touch her ankle (we were sitting on some benches) and my mom struggled with her camera before she finally caught an interesting photo or two. I'm still frustrated that we no longer have the largest available version from that camera.

    >>
    >>43144822
What do you need to sacrifice in order to properly summon something?
    >>
    >>43145719
Incenses are good. Food, alcohol, smokes are good. It all depends on the spirit.

You don't need to sacrifice a life.
    >>
    >>43145773
What if I want to sacrifice a life?

It just stood there, breathing a cold draft across the room that made the hairs on our forearms stand up. And as it tilted its head—an awkward, jerky motion, like someone trying to remember how joints worked—we heard the sound of a voice that wasn't speaking out loud, just pressing directly against the inside of our temples.

How did supernatural hunting go for you this week, anon?
    >>
    >>43148273
    Not. Very. Fucking. Good.

Halloween is the absolute worst dogshit time of the year to hunt.
    >hurr durr lets all dress up as monsters so the good guys can't tell the real from the fake
    >AND wander around at night so the good guys also have a hard time being secretive!11!!1
    >In fact, let's just take out all of our children at night too, so the possibility for collateral damage is even higher!

I've taken the personal policy to simply NEVER hunt in the week leading up to Halloween and especially not on Halloween itself, nor its eve.

Of course I made an exception this year since that haunted house was pretty fucking obviously TOO GOOD to be fake, but aside from that, yeah, not very good at all. It's never good.
    >>
    >>43148575
That's a good point, not to mention the headache that some entities already are. Like vampires and puella magi who look no different from kids at time, good luck telling the officer why you got a cute little corpse in your van.
    >>
    >>43147680
    Must've been some good grapes.
    >>43148575
You have it inverted, Anon. People dress as monsters so the monsters can't tell the real from the fake. Surely we should have better discernment and ability to tell the difference than the boogedy-beasts do.
    >>
    >>43148964
    Grapes of wrath I guess
    >>
    >>43148964
You make a fair point, Anon, and some monsters are certainty stupid enough to actually be fooled by well-made costumes.

But what I meant in my post was not that I am literally unable tell reality from fiction on Halloween/the weeks leading to it, that would be retarded (but it did sound like that lmao), it's more that the baseline level of certainty I need to operate is eroded.

When seeing somebody with pale skin on any other day, you can be pretty sure that something is up with them as combined with other evidence, but your guard can nonetheless remain up. Yet seeing somebody with 'pale' skin on a holiday all about making yourself look like a monster... well now you can't count that as evidence, and you can't be on guard around every 'pale' person on the street can you? You'd hesitate, even if you'd saw fangs, or at least I would, or grow complacent in the sea of monstrousness. I'm sort of leeching on what >>43148951 said here.

I suppose a better and original example would be walking home on a darkened street and being jumpscared by one of those weird tiktok 'Let me scare random people' fuckers. The people who get the stilts and the arm extensions and walk with a scary mask, hiding in the dark recesses about a streetlight or two.

On any other day, you would have vanishingly small chance of a civilian dressed up with antlers and glowing eyes emerging from the dark in a full sprint toward you. But on Halloween, that chance is not so small anymore, and it just takes one second. Either to hesitate and not slay something you ought to, or to not hesitate and murder an innocent person who was just trying to have a fun night out.

As I said, I never hunt on the weeks leading up to Halloween, and certainly not on Halloween night.

    >>43147680
    Yummy.
    >>
    >>43150055
I'd imagine the energies could be scrambled too, if the "veil" really is thinner. But I wouldn't know enough about that.
    >>
Happy Halloween /x/! May you escape the monsters and gather much better research in the future
    >>
    >>43151988
Thank you anon, will do some summoning rituals right now

Also if I bring it up I don't have the normies asking what it is.

    >>43155411
Same, I really like it too. But more as an excuse to hunt monsters since they tend to go out more.
