I love it so much, in a wholesome way.

I don't like gore and larping shitheads, I love Wholesome Halloween.

Yeah. The old Halloween stuff has such a wholesomeness to it. The silly grotesques, the warm colors, and the home spun feel are comfy.

This isn't really Halloween related, but it is cat and ghost related.
I used to watch it on VHS when I was a kid and always loved it. I can't really remember it now because it was so long ago, but QRD from my bad memory

    >Fraidy has used up 8 of his 9 lives
    >Now he's terrified about losing his last life and becomes an anxiety riddled mess
    >Every time he mentions one of the numbers 0 (or 1, I can't remember which)-8 the life corresponding with that number appears and makes whatever situation he's in worse
    >Meanwhile life 9 is a thundercloud(?) and keeps trying to kill him

With it being a VHS I'm not sure if it includes all of the episodes. It was one of those where it was cancelled before they all aired. But it was 1975 so I'm not sure if all intended episodes were released on that VHS or if they just never made the rest so the VHS is only the ones that were aired.
I'm not sure how well it holds up and I've never heard anyone ever mention it, but like I say I like it when I was a little kid. Someone might enjoy it though.

gore and edgelord bullshit has a place in halloween as far as haunted houses and scare mazes go, it's that (and clowns) that'll scare adults, but the core of the holiday has always been in the comfy-spooky zone. the word whimsical has been used to death recently, but for halloween to "work" it MUST be playful in that way
    >>
    >>
    >>43053666
    Hello Satan!

Anyway, it's been on the OP in the past a few times. It usually ends up falling off as it's just a list with nothing really interactive. You have to find each film to use the list. Currently everything in OP leads directly to something interactive: a show you can watch, a game you can play, a template you can use, ect. If you know of a good interactive version, please let us know!

I'm from Michigan originally. I really miss the FUCK out of Halloween. I'm a elder zoomer/zillenial (born in 97) So I feel like I kinda got the last little bit of the old Halloween. Like I remember being a kid, and the streets of my town just being PACKED, and like, we'd be out till like 10 or even 11 if it was a Friday or a Saturday that year. I miss all the hijinks and shit.
Now I live in a small, semi-remote town in Southern Japan, like four hours away from a "large" city that has any significant Halloween festivities.
My Fiance didn't grew up with anything even remotely Halloween ,she really has no idea(for her summer was the spooky time, "Obon" is kinda the closest thing to Halloween.
Our tradition for the past few years on Halloween has been pretty simple, we watch movies, listen to Halloween music (namely The Misfits, Samhain and Danzig) I think I'm gonna try to get her to watch "Night Of The Demons" this year.
    >>
Made a new OP image (.mp4) for the OP and for my /hal/ bros. Ignore the mistakes. I might add more to it, but I'll probably just make something else.

I gotta get into halloween spirit quick. Most years I actually start feeling halloweenie in august and am already burned out by october but I just didn't feel it this year. I made a movie list but haven't started watching them yet
    >the wailing
    >exorcist III
    >2012
    >halloween 2
    >halloween 3
    >cabin in the woods
    >v/h/s
    >rec
    >the curse of la llorona
    >wolves at the door
    >annabelle
    >the poughkeepsie tapes
    >final prayer/borderlands
    >the bay
    >creepshow
    >the taking of debora logan
    >ringu
Plus finishing the evil within, I played it a lot last october but stopped near the end, for no reason, I loved it but I always end up dropping games after playing for a few weeks. Plus F.E.A.R. 2. Just finished the first one, 10/10 for 90% of it, but the last stretch was kinda lame.
    >>
    >>43063493
Try adding or substituting these Games :
    > Amnesia : The Dark Descent
    > Alan Wake
    > Shadows of the Damned
The last one is more of a silly than the rest, but it's great for a spooky party mood IMHO.

Your movie list isn't really great, IMHO. Here's an attempt to help improve:
    >Trick R Treat
    >Halloween 2
    >Cabin in the woods
    >Creepshow
    >Demon Knight (tales from the Crypt)
    >Terrifier
    >Southbound

This list has a tighter focus on Halloween and old school comic fun. Southbound was added as its another good as anthology with a very mysterious feel. Demon Knight is a hidden gem. It's spooky fun in the style of old comics, like Creepshow but not an anthology. Terrifier and Trick R Treat are Halloween films that happen on Halloween. Hell yeah, keep Halloween 2 and Cabin in the Woods!

I hope this list helps you get in the spirit.

I know my movie list isn't very halloween focused, I use halloween season to watch all kinds of horror movies, I feel like the holiday feels too artificial if you focus too much on movies that fit the halloween "stereotype". Dunno how 2012 made my list this year but I might as well go ahead with it now. Also I've seen terrifier and trick r treat last year. Southbound sounds interesting.
I've played a bit of alan wake, didn't hook me. I was actually going to try amnesia too, forgot to mention that. Though I'll probably save it for next year, I don't play vidya as much nowadays so evil within and F.E.A.R. 2 should keep me busy for the rest of the year.

Started watching Halloween specials, watched a couple Spongebob ones first, that season 1 halloween episode is the best, all the new spooky backgrounds and character designs, the colors and season 1 jank from still using cells adds to it too it's just cozy
Then I hit Graveyard Shift, probably my favorite episode, gets some unique backgrounds and horror atmosphere, there's a slasher movie called Intruder that I think uses the same stock music this episode does, it's just funny as hell to build tension like that,

Then I watched the Invader Zim two parter "Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom" this show fucking rules I love all the edgy nightmare shit, Nick didn't know what they had, ended way too fucking soon, now they just plaster cheap shit in Gir and sell it at Hot Topic for 30 bucks, man I wish I went out with that black girl working the counter she was so into me god fucking damn I'm so stupid

I'd say Obon here is a bit more like what All Saints Day used to be like in the west, and from what I understand it's basically the same as other ghost ferstivals that are celebrated in other East Asian countries, like China or Korea. to It's very much based around family, ancestry worship type stuff. There's an idea that it's the one time of the year where the deceased return home to visit for a little bit. Also the whole thing is happening during the summer, and the summer's in Japan are not fun, As someone who grew up in Northern Michigan (Not the UP, but just south of it) Japanese weather and climate is easily my least favorite part of living here lol. Since it's summer there's lot of cicadas.
My Fiance's Family are pretty old school (not uncommon for people from the Inaka) she was raised in what some Japanese people call a "temple family" a lot of her family are buddhist clergy, or very involved in there local temple. So that plays a role in a lot of what I've experienced since I've moved out here from the city.

Here's a list I put together a few years ago for anyone who's interested in this kind of thing. Updates since then:
    >Mayoiga/The Lost Village (creepy haunted village mystery, honestly pretty shit except for the first couple and last couple episodes)
    >Ghost Hound (spooky secrets and childhood trauma in a small town)
    >Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (ghost romance, I loved this one)
    >Death Parade (episodic thriller where people play games in a sort of limbo to see whether they go to "the void" or reincarnate, a personal favorite of mine)
    >Kamui: He's Behind You (supernatural comedy porn, just aired last season)
    >Kaya-chan isn't Scary (spooky little girl fights ghosts, reminiscent of Dark Gathering, good time)
    >Madoka Magica (probably doesn't need any introduction, magical girls fight witches, also the only thing I've ever seen from Shaft that I like)
    >Alien Nine (sci-fi/alien horror, anyone who likes Madoka will probably like it)
    >Gnosia (sci-fi time loop horror/thriller based on a VN)
    >Nyaight of the Living Cat (ridiculous comedy "horror", instead of zombies it's cats that turn people into other cats)
    >Tasokare Hotel (based on vidya, very reminiscent of Death Parade, cute girl wakes up in spooky hotel and has a series of episodic adventures)
    >Dandadan (again, probably needs no introduction, it's the Ghost Puncher greentext in anime form)

There was also The Summer Hikaru Died, but I dropped that one because it sucked ass. Others might enjoy it though. It did have some genuinely creepy visuals at times.

If you have kids or nieces/nephews you can take them trick or treating and have an excuse to experience the magic again. I took my nephew and niece out trick or treating last year and brought my girlfriend with me, and it was kind of a nice date night for us (she's just as into Halloween as I am). Would recommend if you have the opportunity to set up something like that.

Just finished Le Portrait de Petit Cossette. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Visually, it was stunning. Some shots were overly artsy and annoying, but the vast majority were just really good gothic set pieces and stylized scenes that did a good job communicating the mood. It's the same studio that did Shiki so I'm not surprised I liked the visuals. The music was also really good, a bit reminiscent of Elfen Lied.

It did a surprisingly good job of fleshing out the characters and the love story between Eiri and Cossette despite only being three 35 ish minute episodes. It does end up feeling sort of rushed because of that, I think it should have been six episodes, but the pacing wasn't so bad it took me out of the story or made it difficult to care about the characters and their relationships. You could probably describe the final episode as cliche if you have a good bit of genre savvy, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, especially from something that came out in 2004.

I'd give it a 6.5/10. It definitely isn't for everyone, especially if you're not really that into anime in the first place, but if short-form tragic gothic horror romance sounds appealing, I'd say check it out, it's an easy one-sitting binge.

    >Tell us about Japanese spooky season!
I happen to be an expert on the subject (lies).
Like the other Anon said, Obon is basically to celebrate your ancestors and deceased. But outside of that...
    >Kimodamashi
Summer is the period kids and teenagers will partake on kimodameshi (test of courage), where, usually, people are required to traverse some dark place (a forest or cave), retrieve something and come back. Depending on the organizer, other people will be positioned along the path to scare the other taking the test (the test will also usually be one or two persons going at a time). You can see that pretty often in Slice of Life animes.
    >Kaidan
Summer is also when people will get together to tell scary stories. I don't know how often it happens nowadays, but back then, people believed that getting scared (chilled) was a good way to distract from the summer's heat.
    >Shinrei Bangumi (don't google this)
Summer is also the time for shows like this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYF2c-XrxsA
Your typical live audience show, but they gather some celebrities and watch a bunch of ghost videos and look at ghost pictures. Tho in some occasions, they took the celebrities to some supposedly haunted place for them to explore (which I found especially fun to watch, personally speaking). I have in the past made a thread to post such video to watch with everyone and translate any sections people asked about, it was pretty fun.

    Slight style change, I see.
It's probably because I was already used to how it was before, but I kinda prefer the other style, that said, as the list increases, how you're doing now is undoubtedly easier to follow.

    Also,
    >6 movies in a day
I wish I still had time...

    >>43071471
Honesly, not really. If I think about games most people would probably like, what readily comes to mind are the Fatal Frame games and Alien Isolation, and then the most widely known like RE and Silent Hill.
What I would personally recommend the most is Yomawari, but >>43072163 already recommended that, tho the team has a new game called "Village in the Shade", but this one I can only recommend to people that likes games like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, since it's like those, but with supernatural shenanigans going on. But if anyone gets interested, it's also worth noting that the english patch for this game is only expected to be released on the 27th. Can still play a little bit before Halloween, but will have to wait some more.

Anyways, here's a few other short games, tho some may be more appropriate for Halloween than others (in no particular order):
    >Dredge
    >House (1 and 2)
    >Forbidden Solitaire
    >Reanimal
    >Interdimentional Vending Machine (if you like SCP stuff)
    >No I'm not a human
    >Any Chilla's Arts games
    >The Happyhills Homicide (1 and 2)
    >Crowded. Followed.
    >Days Gone (really like the mob mechanic in this one)

Now two games that fit the Halloween theme even less than the others, but I want to recommend anyways:
    >Home Safety Hotline (very much a job simulator, but with some weird things, really wish they would make a Halloween version, like they made a Christmas one)
    >Critters for Sale (I just think it has a neat style)

    >>43072163
Since the pic has that Indie/Other section, it would be nice to add the Strange Man series (The Crooked Man, The Sandman, etc).
    Actually, here, this is easier:

That's it for now, gonna pass out now.

Are you the Anon I indirectly recommend Ghost Hound to?
Quite a few titles I never heard about there, hope I have time to check them out.
(also need to finish Mayoiga someday)

    >>43073227
    >I try to do deep dives because the standard recommended lists are all the same ones
I see, that's why animes like Ghost Hunt and Shiki are not listed. Tho I'll always recommend xXxHoLiC, even if it's not horror or really Halloween related.

Also, I heard many times that the english dub was so atrocious that people probably can't take it seriously anymore, but I hope at least some people went on to eventually watch Gakkou no Kaidan with the original dub to get the intended experience.

Anyways, should I repost the mango recommendation list? At this point I posted it about 4 times already (over the years) and can't say it would have anything new.

    >old man makes a deal with the Devil in exchange for selling cursed items
    >gets tired of the deal and breaks it causing the Devil to claim his soul
    >his niece and nephew (different parents) inherit his antique store. They have a clearance sale and sell off all the items
    >old guys estranged friend (stage magician and occultist) shows up

Now I feel bad for taking so long to reply, a little bit.
Anyways, neither of them are horror in any way, but they are supernatural in nature, Nurarihyon no Mago is about youkais, and Noragami is about japanese gods. Now, both have 2 seasons, but unfortunately (and as per usual) both were released when their mangas were still ongoing, so the animes don't cover the whole story. And on the manga side, both have weak last arcs, Nurarihyon no Mago feels like it was axed and the author was given a set number of chapters to finish the story (nothing official was ever said to support that, but it's how it feels), and Nogarami had a (personally) boring final antagonist, so it became hard to care...
All that said, the parts the animes cover are excellent, so if the sad realities of the mangas don't bother you, I at least recommend the animes.
    >>
    >>43093472
I've seen most of the straight horror anime series by now so I tend to have to go for the more horror-adjacent stuff anyway. They both look cool and that gif makes me kek. Gonna add them to the list. I usually keep watching horror related stuff until late November.

Hot buttered rum better can be made ahead and kept in the fridge. Use a sealed jar to keep it fresh.

Mix together 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature or warme), 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon each of ground nutmeg and allspice until everything is blended together. You'll have enough batter for about 24 drinks.

I have a new gf now so this year we're staying in a kind of cabin thing in Yorkshire for Halloween. The plan is to visit this little village nearby then retire to the cabin thing to watch spooky movies. I expect it to be a nice time. She's not a big fan of horrors unfortunately, but I don't think that is going to matter too much.

I thought this movie was mid as a child, but I loved rewatching it as a grown up.
I guess it has to do with how gritty and grimy it is. All the characters are bit dickish, but it absolutely nails the autumn vibe and feels a bit melancholic with how the kids feel self-conscious about outgrowing Halloween and how to cope with it.

Some loser dating app after going through a period of volcelism (not recommended).
I had 3 or 4 of them and would match with basically anyone to try and remind myself how to talk to women. Then it was a case of going on dates with ones I thought were attractive to remember how to do that part too. Me and my gf started going on dates every week or so and eventually I asked her out.
What I think is weird, which is probably why it works, is that we have almost nothing in common. There's only art and reading that we share as an interest, but even then we don't like same art or the same books. But for whatever reason, we still really enjoy each other's company.

I'm not sure which aspect you're struggling with. If it's a confidence issue, physical, just where to meet people etc.
What feels like it's the biggest problem to you finding a gf?

On a slightly more serious note, is there any Halloween related events happening in your area? Could be a nice way to find Halloween friends.

I’d say confidence and where to meet them, I’m not the most attractive guy out there and could definitely use some work but girls have been interested in me in the past and I couldn’t pull the trigger, I don’t know how to flirt or escalate a conversation beyond small talk. Only dates I have ever been on was a girl who had her brother tell me that she was interested in me and to go talk to her. Right now I don’t interact with anyone outside of work really and never see girls in the wild apart from the gym and store.

You can try the recipe without cinnamon. Also, have you had True Cinnamon or Vietnamese Cinnamon or just the cheap, common Cassia Cinnamon? Common Cinnamon is not really cinnamon. Real cinnamon tastes different. It's softer, sweeter and more floral IMHO.

Just finished the first season of In/Spectre. I liked it. I won't say much about the premise to avoid spoilers, but the general idea is a dude has special powers due to a specific event in his childhood and this makes the yokai of the city fucking terrified of him. He meets up with Kotoko, the girl, and they join forces (and also start dating) to solve supernatural mysteries around the city.

The visuals are all nice and spooky, the yokai range from silly to genuinely creepy. It's also not afraid to get violent, either, but it doesn't ever really stray into over the top edgy territory. The relationship between Kuro and Kotoko is fun and done very well, and I also liked the way they handled his reconnection with his estranged ex-girlfriend Saki. They didn't waste time on any pointless tension or lingering feelings like most melodramas, which was refreshing.

I will say that episodes 8-11 really dragged, simply because of the type of story they were telling. Without spoiling it, it was essentially three episodes of Kotoko explaining in real time how she was going to solve their ghost problem while typing away at her PC interspersed with brief shots of Kuro fighting the ghost. I get that they had to get the point across somehow, and they did try to make it visually interesting, but it just wasn't really a story arc that lent itself particularly well to an animated medium in my opinion. To its credit, the solutions Kotoko came up with didn't ever feel too out there or ridiculous. A bit silly sometimes, but no sillier than your average /x/ conspiracy post.

I think I'd probably give it a 6.5 out of 10. It would be a 7 if it weren't for my feelings on those three episodes. That being said, I did enjoy it and I'm planning on watching season 2. I'll probably also go read the source novel. If you're into urban horror/mystery and think cute, genius lolis are fun, I'd check it out.

If you enjoyed it, I highly recommend giving the Spanish version a watch. It's from the same year, but back then overdubbing the film with different languages wasn't a common practice yet, so they actually had an entirely different cast on the same set. With the obvious exception of Bela Lugosi, I actually think most aspects are done better in the Spanish version as far as cinematography, atmosphere, and shot composition. And while he's of course no Lugosi, Carlos Villarías does a great job as Dracula.

Been going pretty hard on Halloween this year, anons.

My girl and I made a whole month-long Halloween agenda. Horror double features every night, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, ghost tours, antique shops, wandering through the woods around sunset, old Twilight Zone episodes in the mornings, carving pumpkins, decorating the house, the works.

Been watching everything from Rosemary's Baby and The Omen to Nosferatu, The Howling, Phantasm, Videodrome, and a bunch of 80s horror. Saving the Evil Dead trilogy and some other favorites for the final stretch.

We also started making our own Blair Witch-style found-footage film. Went out into the woods around sundown and shot a bunch of footage. Still need to piece it together. Been wanting to do something like that for years.

Had a whole chili day too. Spent hours making a massive pot with three kinds of beef, dried chiles, roasted peppers, Mexican chocolate, etc. Felt like tending a cauldron. Even better the next day.

Today we went pumpkin picking and carved jack-o'-lanterns. Mine looks like some lobotomized freak with half his skull caved in. Got the porch covered in cobwebs and ivy with red lighting and creepy ambient sounds playing from a hidden speaker.

Made myself a costume with an old deteriorated trench coat, gloves, a ratty wig, and an Aphex Twin mask. Also put together a candy bowl with a tiny green frog named Mog.

Still got Halloween itself to look forward to. Planning on hitting some garage sales in the morning, handing out candy, driving around looking at decorations, and finishing the night with horror movies.

Been having a genuinely great time. Probably the most Halloween has felt like Halloween since I was a kid.

I see a lot of anons complaining that the holiday has lost its magic, but I'm starting to think you just have to make an effort to create the atmosphere yourself. Nobody's going to do it for you anymore.

Anyone else actually getting up to anything this year?

For anyone curious, here's the horror lineup we've been working through this October.

The idea was to give each week its own atmosphere, gradually getting darker and nastier until Halloween. Basically making the whole month feel like one long horror movie.

    WEEK 1 — THE AWAKENING

    «Rosemary's Baby / The Omen
Return of the Living Dead / Demons
Night of the Demons / Trick 'r Treat
    Fright Night / Near Dark
    Tremors / Slither
Sleepy Hollow / The Blair Witch Project»

    WEEK 2 — THE HAUNTING

    «Hausu / The Changeling
    Cemetery Man
Evil Dead (2013) / Drag Me to Hell
The Howling / American Werewolf in London
    Nosferatu (1922) / Nosferatu (2024)
Over the Garden Wall / Poppy Playtime
    My Babysitter's a Vampire / No, I'm Not a Human»

    WEEK 3 — THE MUTATION

    «The Fly / Videodrome
The Fog / Stir of Echoes
    The Birds / Piranha
    Demon Knight / The Prophecy
    Critters / Ghoulies
    Resident Evil REmake / Supernatural
    Ernest Scared Stupid / Halloweentown»

    WEEK 4 — THE DESCENT

    «Halloween (1978) / The Burning
Phantasm / Night of the Creeps
The Wicker Man / The Witch
    Jack-O / Pumpkinhead II
    Idle Hands / Ginger Snaps
The Evil Dead / Evil Dead II»

FINAL THREE NIGHTS — THE LAST RITUAL

«Army of Darkness / Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
The Hills Have Eyes / Texas Chain Saw Massacre
A Nightmare on Elm Street / Halloween III»

Also been watching Twilight Zone episodes, old horror trailers and vintage Halloween commercials.

The whole thing builds toward Halloween III, ending the month on that weird, sinister, old-school Halloween atmosphere.

    Here's my costume.

"Should" be chronological over the past number of years.

Now the image limit is always the big question. The biggest complaint from the remaining oldfags and newfags is 4chan is a "image" board, how can it be a image board if you can hardly post images. Our other point of wonder is where are all the images? You go in a thread nowadays you see 100 post and maybe 5-10 images. Back in the day there would be 100 posts with 95 reaction images. Even if it was just a "NO U" or "slowpoke" meme you still posted a image with your post. It's the burning question of our time.

Nah. There were some wet blankets in this thread at first, too. Also it really is going to be on a Saturday this year. That's going to be unfun for anyone who prefers quiet celebrations instead of a million drunk normies who didn't even bother with a costume.

What we are missing is a sperg making shitposts, anons arguing with the sperg and telling them to fuck off, followed by the sperg arguing at the anons in return. One realizes that threads are a bit slow if they lack a dedicated determined autist. I'm genuinely surprised the threads this year have been so calm.

Sorry for the off-topic blogpost but:
Just came back from the cinema, went to watch Wildwood. Personally, I quite enjoyed it, would recommend.
Now, I normally wouldn't even bring this up anywhere, but in the session/screening I went to, aside from me, there was only 5 other people, so this is mostly my sadness/disappointment speaking (tho I did watch it subbed, and people in my country hate to read, so hopefully the dubbed screenings are doing better, but this is probably cope).

Yup, this is the mindset one needs to have once you reach adulthood.
I'm not in a particular halloweeney phase but I'm fine and content, enjoying the change of pace, mood and decorations the holiday offers. But I find it humorous how my youtube feed keeps spamming me with videos like:
    >hurr why holluwin dosn't feel magik anymore boohoo

It turns out one has to get off their ass to do festive activities and do some actual work once your parents don't do that for you anymore.

Wildwood was pretty good, but something about it didn't work for me. I didn't like the plot with the burglars being imprisoned and them helping fight the villain lady. I would have preferred more of the talking birds like the giant eagle and the owl than seeing more of those burglars. I also hate all the Marvel-esque quips from the main character, like the "They talk to trees?" she said to the old druid woman. I prefer when stories just play their magic straight and normal people accept it, but that's the entire point is the girl realizing there's magic, so I can't really hold that against the movie I guess.

Of the Laika movies I've seen, I still way prefer Coraline over it. I'd recommended Wildwood though, 7/10 movie.

Hard to get into Halloween mode this year because of work and other things, been that way a lot of years recently. I found Classic WoW helped. Lordaeron has always been my digital home, but never more than during Halloween.

Anyway, I wish the Forever beta was still going so I could spend tonight there, but tomorrow I have Clayface with friends (I can take it or leave it) and I'm going to try to drag some folks to a showing of Scream later.

Fair enough. I can definitely understand being a little let down by a setting full of factions of talking animals focusing instead on the human faction. Also I every so often see people complaining about "marvel tier dialogue/quips/comebacks/etc", but since the last marvel movie I watched was the 2007 Spider-Man 3, that didn't particularly bother me.
Now, I only watched Coraline for the first time within 5 years ago, so this week, I decided to rewatch it, and watch the other Laika movies, and honestly I liked ParaNorman more, tho ultimately would place Wildwood first (and since I watched all of them this week, I'd like to say there's no "recency bias", but I'll think about it for a few more days to be sure).
As a side note, I did pass out halfway through Missing Link, so I'll have to finish it today.

    >But can they do it twice?
Like I said here >>43148281, I liked ParaNorman more, so to me, they already did.
That said, I'm stupid, so my only metric to judge a movie is whether I liked it or not. Can't really judge writing, pacing or any technicalities, but I'll say that to me, there were no surprises whatsoever, it's very easy to predict any given segment of the movie, however, predictable as it may be, I thought the scenes were well executed, and (as it should be no surprise) the animation does a lot of heavy lifting. I have seen some people saying the end was rushed, but I didn't feel that personally.

These are my honest thoughts, they probably won't do a good job convincing anyone to watch it, but oh well.
