what board can I discuss chinese anime like renegade immortal?
doesnt seem like it's allowed on /a/
    >>
    >doesnt seem like it's allowed on /a/
Such a strange board, I watch anime everyday and wouldn't be caught dead browsing /a/. >>>/trash/ welcomes all
    >>
    >>1579150
No shade, legitimately trying to ascertain, what the fuck is the appeal of those cookiecutter cultivation shows? At least with normal anime you can get titillation from fan service, or find characters cute.
I would unironically find blending my own balls more fun than sitting through 100 hours of that slop.
    >>
    >>1579166
It's not really allowed anywhere here, Chinese and Korean stuff is generally frowned upon because of the site's origins with Futaba and Japanese/otaku culture shit in general. /a/ is such a sad husk of its former self nowadays though, after decades it's become hard to care anymore.
That being said I did see 罗小黑战记 recently and it was really fucking good.
    >>
    >>1579167
I'm not going to suggest Renegade Immortal, but it's pretty simple power wank, there are many such shows where that's the entire point. And in the case of RI it's quite well made and he's holy fuck strong.
    >what the fuck is the appeal of those cookiecutter cultivation shows?
It's the same as every genre, like what's the point of those cookiecutter isekai's, or harem comedies, or shonen shit? If you're going to drop terrible bait like this you need to give some good entries a chance, like Will Eternal or Mortals Journey to Immortality. Also for cultivation shit, you must give it 10 episodes minimum, if you fail to do that you won't get the point and you'll remain ignorant
    >>
    >>1579167
I just find it funny due to its absurdity. an accidental comedy
    >>
    >>1579185
    >>1579167
also some of them have really refreshing ruthless MCs like wang lin in renegade immortal and luo feng in swallowed start who actually just fucking kill people without a second thought and do what's best for themselves and their family no matter what.
I can't stand herbivore cuck japanese MCs anymore
    >>
    >>1579166
mods/jannies have ruined /a/ by not allowing it to evolve organically and selectively allowing only what they deem acceptable.
    >>
    >>1579182
But I don't need to watch 10+ episodes of a harem anime to know whether it's shit or not.
Cultivation just seems like a harem anime for fags.
    >>
    >>1579167
some cultivation shows are good, some are slop. same goes for any genre.

We have enough classic animes to last several lifetimes.
    Have some standards.
Chinkshit is just objectively bad. Too much nepotism, resulting in incompetents making decisions. Fuck the CCP.
    >>
    >>1579209
    >Chinkshit is just objectively bad.
You haven't watched anything good (or if you tried, you didn't finish 10 episodes) so your opinion is worthless
    >>
    >>1579211
Imagine being brainwashed by the CCP of all people. Now I understand why even modern anime is so shit, not to mention the low quality 3D CGI mess.
It's because of effectively-blind people like you.
    >>
    >>1579219
    >CCP
    >Oh no, a boogieman. That must make me right about an entire popular genre which I've never watched
Can you at least name a couple shows you've given a chance? I thought it looked like shit too, till I gave it a chance
    >>
    >>1579233
    >popular
I'm glad the fans enjoy it so much. Both of them.

The Japanese one doesn't apply in current year, 80s 90s, a bit of the 2000s sure, but nobody trys anymore
Chinese makes a ton of sense, I've started considering it a charm point where they clearly say "fuck it, it's good enough". Like they just drop something jaw dropping gorgeous, and then nobody has functional hands. Their hands are for telekinesis, they levitate items to their hands, and obviously everyone has bags of holding so they hand wave and the things just shink and pop into the magic bag. The whole thing is just so they don't need to animate model collisions, and because nobody fucking cares, lol
    >>
    >>1579265
    >The Japanese one doesn't apply in current year
    Come the fuck on, Zhang.
Your average shit, no plot, no storyline, completely forgettable anime from the 2020s looks like this:

    >>
    >>1579266
    >Your average
No. I'm watching lots of anime and that there is _not_ what the average anime looks like. You had to cherry pick a 4 year old show to find something that good. That's why I started watching chink shit, because I figured it couldn't be worse, and it is not worse
Here, I just hit anidb, clicked on something with a rating of 6 (so above average) then hit YouTube for the opening (you know, where animators show off the best they got)
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=71ZUyh-SW2w
    There's your modern average anime

    >isekaislop
I legitimately wouldn't know because I have never watched that crap, I agree it was absolutely dire though.
That's my point. Jap animators phone in isekais in the same way Chink animators phone in cultivation slop, neither genre has ever had anything good or anyone who cares about them, they're for literal (and I say this non-derogatorily) children.
The difference is Japan has thousands of well animated shows about things ranging from the mundane (a fucking school uniform) to high concept stuff, where as China just has the slop.
There's outliers, like Link Click, but if you followed the official CCP guidelines that should be banned for depicting time travel.

Whatever the Chinese cultural backwardness doesn't snub out the CCP generally will. Moving out of the genre of anime, look at any famous Chinese actress, their wikipedia will usually read like this:
    >In July 2006, Tang was cast from more than 10,000 actresses to star in Ang Lee's classic film Lust, Caution (2007),[13][14] adapted from Eileen Chang's novella inspired by the story of female spy Zheng Pingru. Tang learned Shanghainese and Suzhou Pingtan, which is sung in the Suzhou dialect, for her role.[13] She won the Golden Horse Award for Best New Performer and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and a BAFTA Award for the film.[15][16][17]
    >Despite the critical acclaim for her performance, China's State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) ordered a media ban on Tang because of the sexual nature of her performance. All print ads and feature content using Tang were removed, and her endorsements were discontinued.

    >unironically defending isekai
Seasonal anime died because of people like you.
    Go reincarnate in another world.
    >>
    >>1579297
    >Seasonal anime died
There you fucking have it. Anime is dead, Chinese stuff is better now. But keep hanging onto your memories and delusions in your echo chambers that tell your sophisticated connoisseur of anime
    >>
    >>1579298
90% of anime is isekai due to bottomfeeders who'll accept that slop such as yourself, the 10% that got drowned out due to lack of taste and culture amongst consumers always was, still is, and always will be good.
Chinese anime has nothing other than the lightning in a bottle that manages to slip past both the censors and general cultural malaise of the Chinaman.

I get that your tiktok FYP has made you rabidly pro-China, but you have to come to terms with the fact everything they produce is garbage, anon. Maybe when Xi's out of power and they have another renaissance like they had with the fifth generation of filmmakers they might produce some cultural output worthy of your time. Until then it's wolf warriors and cultivation crap.
    >>

    >the 10% that got drowned out due to lack of taste and culture amongst consumers always was, still is, and always will be good.
You claim a 1 in 10 success rate (it's not even close to that). Yep, it's KODAWARI, Japan #1, impossibre quarity, I can't even think of watching other crap!
    >>
    >>1579301
It'd be a lot higher if not for children such as yourself being willing to accept dogshit.
    >>
    >>1579302
    >if only competition didn't exist, we'd be the winners!
    >>
    >>1579304
What competition is Chinese anime winning exactly? There's a reason we're calling it Chinese anime and not Japanese Donghua.
Spend less time getting your opinions from your algorithm, bro.
