I've had mostly minor issues with it, and none I'd attribute to X11. Gaming with Wine has been fine, but I haven't gamed in at least a year.

    >couldn't get audio recording with MIDI to work. I'm definitely not very knowledgeable in that area, but I was able to do so with my Windows boot no problem
    >Wayland has given me issues in the past which is what pushed me to switch to this current setup since all the normal desktop environments have integrated it
    >The obnoxiously loud fan that I've been unable to control.

All that said...I will never buy an Asus or Nvidia product ever again and when I eventually get a new laptop I'll probably try out Sway.

god that is sublime, it looks like a texture from a game. huge office, no ones there, all the lights are on and every so often you see a monitor left on. places that are supposed to have lots of people adopt a surreal chill vibe when they are empty. it's honestly not that hard. I used ubuntu and mint back when I was 16 because the arch install was too daunting and tiling wm configs were too complicated, but there are enough good guides, easy alternatives, and honestly llms can help a lot (although having an idea of how things work so you can tell when it's making shit up helps) with whatever linux problems you're likely to encounter, that it's really not hard these days. if you're the kind of windows user who changes settings and is comfortable following a guide to edit registry settings, you can use linux. I wouldn't recommend it to my mom, but I assume you're more technically competent than my 68 year old mom. that being said, if you're content with windows then you're fine.

zathura, though I don't like the most recent versions, there are tiny but annoying issues. It used to be good like two years ago and not so bloated

    >RIght so, heres the scoop. They are using this desktop to upload the digitized consciousness of Yagrum Bagarn, and his terrible CorprusPLAGUE on some little blue people? into lil blue android men?!?!
He he. :) No plague endorsements there. Take another look.
If one uses the eyedropper on the little android dudes, and averages the colors, they will tend to converge on a hue corresponding to rgb 0, 128, 255, or, scaled to a zero to one range, 0, 0.5, 1. Not just any blue: that turns out to correspond to a specific *named* color.
In the terminal, note the name after the "@"

cool setup. can you redpill me on nixos? i want to finally make the move from windows to linux because i am fed up with all its bullshit and nixos seems really interesting with it being atomic and immutable, though i am only somewhat familiar with what those really constitute. basically i'm just asking what are its biggest advantages over other more commonly used distros.
