Wgat do you mean by AMOLED?
    >>
    >>8132404

AMOLED displays turn off black pixels that display total black (#000000), whereas normal displayys still back-light the unused pixels, making the screen brighter even with a dark wallpaper and giving it an unpleasant sheen in the dark.

AMOLED wallpapers would be any wallpaper where the "black" part of the wallpaper is truly #000000 Black, so the AMOLED screen will actually turn off the pixels.

The enclosed picture gives a good example; the phone on the left (if you can see it) is using a true #000000 wallpaper and has an AMOLED screen, so even turned up to full brightness, since the pixels aren't displaying a color, the acreen doesn't turn them on.

The phone on the right isn't AMOLED, so the "black" wallpaper is extremely backlit.

How can i turn an ordinary wallapaper into a AMOLED one?
    >>
    >>8132475
Nta but thanks for taking the time to explain it.
    >>
    >>8134342
just ensure any "black" in the image is actually #000000 and not just "really really dark" like #010003
    >>
    >>8132475
fascinating, I've noticed my eyes are more sensitive as I age
I wonder if it's me or the technology
    >>
    >>8135391

It's both. Your eyes are gently aging in accordance with human norms AND companies keep inventing new screens capable of 16K Ultra-Buttffuck 120FPS Crystal Clarity that the human eye was never meant to experience.

I know those are in landscape ratio but maybe they would still look good when cropped?

Anyway, this has been on my lock screen for years now. Not too dark, not too garish.
    >>
    >>
    >>8138940

Oh don't worry it's tricky as hell sometimes to be absolutely sure.

Then you start gaslighting yourself and second-guessing all your wallpapers.
