Why do you watch vtubers? What is an ideal viewing experience for you? I ask as a potential future vtuber that wants to learn about the audience.

>Why do you watch vtubers?
I love anime women
>What is an ideal viewing experience for you?
Lesbians, no males, love their fans
>>
I'm just comfy watching my unknown indie oshi and being able to interact with her. She makes me happy.
I think I've fallen in love with her but that's a whole other can of worms...
>>
>>115846828
Be nice to your fans and treat them well, it is really that simple
>>
>>115846828
Underpromise and overdeliver, it's that simple

As in you don't watch male vtubers or dont watch a female vtuber that does streams with guys
>>

>female vtuber that does streams with guys
There’s no reason for males to appear on my screen, zero reason for them to exist in the streams at all.

Are there really vtubers who are mean to their audience

Playing games they're good at. Keep chatting focused on the game.
>>
>Why do you watch vtubers?
Honestly I just like it when someone does something they actually enjoy (Mostly Games and Art in my case) and you can tell when someone is having a good time or not.
>>
>>115847178
That's 95% of the market, yes. The 5% is the exception that make it work like Suisei.
>>
>>115846828
Grassroots creativity. Corpo overproduction has put a dent in this, but for an /asp/ie the issue will more be doing something interesting enough to catch attention.

Plenty were mean to Nina too.

I like my oshi and want to see her succeed.
I like her friends because they make my oshi happy.
If my oshi left, I wouldn't really care about vtubers anymore since she's my only real anchor to this scene, but as long as she cares about it, I'll care too.

But as for why? A lot of it is because my oshi (Dokibird) has always been an interesting and creative person to follow, and that's also bled into the community she's fostered and inspired over the years. Her constant project pipeline and overwhelming energy led to a community full of talented artists, designers, coders, musicians, etc. all willing to work together to create various fan events, games, videos, etc. to match her efforts.
I enjoy being part of a community and helping out in various community projects has worked wonders for improving my own self esteem and giving me a sense of productivity in this cold world. I've made quite a few friends due to her fanbase and met plenty of nice, fun people. (not on 4chan though)
Also a certain event may or may not have caused an even more powerful parasocial bond to form between her and her fans resulting in everyone being especially close these days and her feeling extremely grateful to her fans, fueling an even bigger drive to work hard to make them happy, and for her fans to work hard to appreciate her with their own efforts.

>women
>good at games
They should focus on stuff they're actually interested in because it makes a big difference. For some of them that includes games, but boy it sure isn't most of them.
>>
>>115856552
I'm good at games...
>>
Initially I watch whoever play the same games I do just to see how they tackle them. It feels like watching a little sister play vidya. Then I found my favorites.

>ideal viewing experience
I seek out vtubers streaming games that I like, often something from my childhood. If they're cute and having a good time then I'm having a good time. If they're bored or trying to feign enjoyment that's often easy to tell and makes for a bad experience.
I also watch vtubers for gooning but I consider that a separate experience from the above.
>>
>>115846828
I watch vtubers mostly because I found them charming, and wish to support their endeavors.

The ideal experience is hard to pin down because it varies wildly. I'd say the guiding principles are the chuuba being charismatic (which is some mix of funny, silly, and expressive), them having a fun time, and me having a fun time. It's really not specific, but what the audience wants is whatever you can do to get them to see you, to click and then to come back for more.

>I ask as a potential future vtuber that wants to learn about the audience.
So... do you not watch vtubers yourself?

A bit too late the party, I only watch AI vtubers now. The girls are super cute and, unlike real girls, actually care about their viewers.
>>
Since it sounds like you're new to vtubers as a whole, you should probably figure out why you'd want to be one in the first place.
Are you interested in streaming but don't want to be in front of a camera? Did you watch a vtuber and get inspired to become one? Are you vtubing as a hobby? Did you watch a clip of a big vtuber and see it as a way to make money? Maybe some other reason?
After you figure that out you can start worrying about catering to a specific audience.

Impossible ask for vtubers. They despise their audience and have to let you know it.
>>
>>115846828
They are cute
>>
>>115846828
Just don't collab with males, that's it the bar is so fucking low you can literally step over it
>>
>>115846828
If you don't know what you want to do as a vtuber already, on what you want to provide once you're live, it's best if you give up now.

>>115846828
They are based af.

I watch both incredibly cute and sweet vtubers with really nice voices who never male collab. Or really funny relatable vtubers who also have nice voices.
>>
Korone is incredibly funny and cute, that's all.

speak japanese
you can only be one of stupid/bad at your main content on stream (games, singing etc.)
have a good group of collab partners
try to avoid controversy, even if you're "right", or even if I would agree that you are in the right
try to maintain good vibes, if you're stuck in negative loop mentally its time to say goodbye and close stream
don't numberfag
don't engage with vtuber/streamer community meta ie. dramafaggotry
don't react or acquiesce to antis or schizos, don't be /here/

I must have standards so high 98% of the chuubas out there fail these
>have a soft, soothing voice
>be legit nice
>otaku (fuck off normalfags, and no you won't pass by naming fotm anime)
>not a grifter or someone who streams 2-3 times a week to keep collecting members money
>seiso(ish)
>i don't give a shit about games so I don't watch girls whose content is mostly those
An impossible combination
>>115848447
There's the former niji gundou, for example. Plenty of others if you bother to look for them. It's not like they're mean 24/7 but they can be extremely off putting unless that's your thing.
