I've been watching vtubers for fucking 10 years now since that's when Kizuna Ai first came out. There are a few "golden ages" or rather just ups vs. downs but for indies I don't think it's been as good as when Filian was around and bringing everyone together. Whoreclan character assassination on Sinder definitely hurt the "good vibes" that indies had too, but right now there are enough good vtubers that it doesn't feel like all is lost.
