Did the AI controversy kill this game for good?
i don't care if AI was usedas long as my lettuce is crisp
if this nigger could make competent AI enemies in the game then i'd be more interested.
>>2508156No? It had ugly fuckin 1999 3D artwork already. Who the shit cares?
>>2508244Many people, it seems
>>2508249luddites aren't people anybody with 3 brain cells replaced all the art with anime girls anyway
>>2508156I don't care if he uses AI, just make the fucking AI more competent at playing his game PLEASE
>>2508244>ugly fuckin 1999 3D artworkit was ensovled artisan craftsmanship, not that you appreciated it. you probably used one of the godawful silhouette mods with the visually indistinguishable cards
>>2508244Don’t you remember how great Unreal looked in 1998?
>>2508582No I just used the anime cards mod so they're all GuP characters or 1999 romcom game characters.
>>2508156Somebody post that pic where AI gave dude a third leg.
>>2508156i don't believe he couldn't have commissioned an artistyou can pay pinoys about $20 for a portrait
>>2508156I hope he asks Claude to make the game fucking playable
>>2508603>GuPNormalfag!>1999 romcomNow that's keyed.
>>2508831that's not ai, that's a picture of me. and it's not a leg.
>>2508156No, it was killed when Vic made a navy DLC without navies
>>2509105Hey those planet classes are kind of fun. But yeah I still have never fucked with the MTHs.
>>2508891Hell yeah buddy.
>AI disclosure is *optional*>AI usage is *easily hidden*>AI disclosure *guarantees less revenue* due to AI hate>devs disclosed that they used AIare gamedevs really this stupid?
>>2509580It's not easy to miss
>>2509585>dumbfuck can't survivor bias
Why do people get so butthurt over AI? Shadow Empire is a certified kino spreadsheet simulator for the lovers of the genre, and for its price(on sale or key site) it's a steal.
>>2509580If you're a solo dev or small team and want to gen some placeholder art for early access I have no problem. If you're a AAA studio and want to gen for a finished product I have a problem.
>>2508156I must say I genuinely liked the old art more. The new stuff looks like the old stuff but uncanny valley. As in, you can tell it's still the same shitty 3D render underneath but it got hit by a thick layer of AI schizophrenia so the end result doesn't even look any better, just more obviously AI generated.
The play is to never disclose it and invest just enough time & energy make it undetectable so self-righteous troons like >2509663 this faggot will have nothing to complain about. This is extremely simple to do unless you're >>2509585 this retarded.
>>2509674>please slide your boot deeper down my throat AI sama
>>2509681stay unemployed, troon
>>2509682Midwits think they're safe. But their jobs are the next to be phased out. Don't say I didn't warn you.
>>2509585they hired the weg man, I see
>>2509708thats what they said about wcdonald's ice cream machines too. and car making factories. instead they just hire more 3rd worlders to handle the machines and infinite migration works.>inb5 banned for IRL restaurant sim realities.
>>2509585>>2509715looks like the problem is ESL devs
Vic you faggot go back and fix your damn game, computer AI plays like ass
>>2509804>computer AI plays like assthats all /vst/ "AI" since the dawn of civs.
I don't care about AI images for games like this in general, but they're pretty damn low quality. If you're going the free low-effort route, you could actually put some effort in. I could gen much better images with my potato PC locally. Also the writing is embarrassingly bad, especially in the history section of the manual.
>>2508156Literally don't care. I must say the older 3D stuff was ugly as fuck, but had soul. But I don't really give a single fuck.
>>2509585>>2509658The 90s 3d art isn’t the problem. That part is kino. The problem is the AI generated leader portraits. Now, if you remember correctly, these portraits were introduced to appease the normies. Now those filthy casuals have moved on, but the stain of the new leader portraits remains. I was always opposed to them and thankfully there was a check box to keep them deactivated.
>>2508156>Did the AI controversy kill this game for good?the game never lived, and this is comming from a shadow empire fanboy.that he used shitty soulless aislop to replace the dogshit but soulful art we had made things worse but the playerbase is like 5 guys beforehand anyway
idgaf about the art, but it coud be easily improved by hiring a single artis and have them draw something cool. The singleplayer AI is just there so you learn the game, PBEM is where the game shines brilliantly
>>2511231>PBEM is where the game shines brilliantlyAnd good luck finding people for that
>>2512258nta but I played it with a guy over Discordat some point I realized he was cheating lime crazy though and just stopped
>>2508156>>read some steam reviews>Almost everything is RNG. Unless you like rolling low and game doing everything it can to hamstring you (be it by rolling very bad leaders, or rolling critical failure or critical failure for unrest-increasing events),>My people are starving to death, I build a farm, and now I can't afford to pay the workers. Cool.are they right or are those just skill issues?
>>2512307Wholesome experience
>>2512379Rolling for bad leaders is not a problem. Since you are always guaranteed a couple leaders with good caps at the start of the game you can put in the important areas. And you will get quite a lot of leader generating cards down the line. I don't remeber having any real problems with critical failures in event rolls. The main problem with RNG stuff is the models, wich you can reroll infinitely anyways. However a bad model can fuck you at the beggining of the game. Credits are not really a problem. In fact you are supposed to spend a lot of them early on to grow your private economy. That guy probably built one of the big farms who use a lot of workers, but you can choose to make it work at 50% or even 25% of its capacity if the salaries are a problem.
Do you guys start tech lvl 3 or 4? I used to do tech 3 but current game I started on 4, and so far it's been quite interesting at the start, though I guess it all depends on the planet
>>2512379>>2512491this is a composite reply because i just wanna say that starting tech 4 removes alot of the idiotic starting rngtech 3 feels more natural to the setting but you will possibly get sent through the wringer of earlygame rng and cancer until you can stabilize your nation and economyonce you grow to a certain size most of the bs gets left behind, but getting there can be utter misery.also certain profiles like democracy let you fight against it by giving you more ammo to gamble for leaders / cards that let you bypass some of the bad rng (like cabinet retreat)so essentially, tech 3 for the vibe (pain included), or tech 4 for a more balanced experience
>>2512516Thanks, anon. I do find the tech 4 start smoother and it eliminates the struggle for survival against bullshit starting conditions in the early game. One other interesting thing I noticed is that the tech 4 start has me paying more attention to QoL and civilisation score/levels. I had to actively develop my cities to get to the civ level needed to build the next BP building. When I'm playing tech 3, my private economy has usually taken care of it before I can get to the next level of bp offices.
>>2512523i struggle with civ score on t3 aswell desubureaucratic office is simply the strongest building in the game so you wanna build it with biblical greed
>>2509585>I shall use ai to emulate ugly ass models Why
>>2508258Nobody cares about your opinion Dalit.
>>2512530Why? I read in the manual generating too many BPs was bad.
>Make loadsamoney off of minimum effort 2D Turn based game>Update the art via ugly promptslop instead of paying some jackass a few bucksAIsloppers are capable of legendary greed
>>2514134Without republica DLC you want to build as many as possible. With Republica DLC you need to have a good economy you can tax for credits to afford all the apparatchicks entrenching themselves and driving up wages.
