how would you rank the wallace and gromit trilogy?what game would you like to see next?
my experience is like basically:hospital>okay this is cute actually cute>lets place down these rooms and help these patients>and then again, but on the next map you unlocked something new>and then again, good thing I saved the room templates>and then again?>ok this is boring>alt+f4campus>brah this is literally hospital but its a campus + its mid as fuck>alt+f4now musem looks the best and probably the most fun in the series but i havent seen any cracked versions so I can't tellI was thinking about playing the OG hospital game, anyone tried this mod?https://youtu.be/Of3WlxGI8Dc
>>2495650Museum is easily the best since it has the most twists in its gameplay. It's still an extremely easy and repetitive game and will eventually just have you doing the same thing over and over again while waiting for bars to fill.
>>2495650>what game would you like to see nextsomething in which the core gameplay loop does not rely on constantly building the same rooms where you do the same things but with different animationssomething like managing a gym
>>2495672I agree. I have played museum during a free weekend and it does get repetitive quickly like the others. I think that if they had expanded the artifact gathering parts of the game it would have been better. If the artifacts actually had some value to the player then you would want to show off your favourites.
Is there any point to play that over theme hospital
>>2495650>what game would you like to see next?Maybe something where you build hotels and resorts in various wacky locations and have to accomodate various wacky guests with wacky needs.
Museum>Hospital>>>>>>>campus.Museum is a fucking geniusly perfect game. I can't wait for the theme park DLC. Two Point said they have another game in the works so I wonder what they are cooking up and what they have left for Museum.
>>2496564>Museum is a fucking geniusly perfect gameEh, I find it's a lot of waiting around for expeditions while the actual layout and management of your museum is less important
>>2496489That would be a wacky idea
2P Museum is great, I'm somewhat relieved other people agree.2P Hospital is ok but I replayed Theme Hospital again as recently as last year, I don't think you're missing a whole lot.Campus runs aground quite quick.
Whatever the fourth game is, I hope they make the building and customization system even more flexible. They said this was a point of focus in Museum but it still falls short in a lot of ways>wall corners have the default brown brick texture no matter how you paint the wall, regardless of the default wallpaper of the map>rooms can only follow the grid and not have diagonals, or be enclosed in anything less than full walls. An open cafeteria area would be nice but is impossible.>decor in rooms is very restricted. If you want to decorate your staff room or workshops you basically have access to a potted plant, some filing cabinets and a rug. And the game WILL expect you to provide decoration or the inspectors will complain.>lot of stuff doesn't work outdoors and if you want an outdoor area it needs its own separate staff assignment zone because those can't be both inside and outside.>there is no option to summarily execute guests who litter right next to a trash can.
With the recent DLC announcement, I really hope they don't do a theme park. We have enough park builders and the genre as a whole is oversaturated.I'd much rather them take on a different kind of park, like natural reserves or historical areas and that sort of thing. I want a SimPark successor.
>>2495650I've only played Campus and I thought it was pretty shit. Very repetitive levels, you're constantly being pestered to buy ugly junk by students and a lot of mechanics are just completely half-baked (e.g. shoving every one in a giant dorm is always optimal). It's too shallow for fans of management games and too restrictive for people who just want to build stuff.
>behold, our new DLCs!>Zoo exhibits!>Rollercoasters!>are you sure these fit the museum theme?>museum?
>>2496489If you're looking for a cartoony hotel tycoon, check out Hotel Architect, although it might be not as wacky as you want. I've only played the demo so I can't speak out on long-term problems and fatigue, but from what I've played it's a solid game.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1602000/Hotel_Architect/
>>2495650two point brothel
>>24956502 point concentration camp
>>2499383Honestly I'm surprised no random German studio even made a comedic sleazy tycoon about running a brothel. There's Lula Sex Empire of course, but iirc that's more about running porn business.
>>2498712For what it's worth, it sounds like fans of the series generally consider campus to be by far the weakest entry
>>2499450Of course they have. It's called Rotlicht Tycoon.
>>2499648Ah, it's as crusty as I imagined.
>>2495650Two point SCP containment facility
>>2495650two point succubus rape dungeon
Two point prison
>>2499885That's actually not half bad. Keeping crazy relics and crazy entities locked up and safe, while they try to break out and extremist groups try to break in.
>>2495650Shovelwear slop
>>2499543The issue with Campus is that it's Hospital but more refined. It doesn't really do anything new and because it's so similar to Hospital it feels a bit inappropriate for the college school setting. Building 4 libraries and a single dorm with 20 beds feel to unrealistic, which is ironic given how cartoony the game is.
>>2498860if I may interject, a museum can technically hold anything
>>2500382>if I may interject, a museum can technically hold anythingSo do you.
I don't think there's ever been a good school or university simulator. Nothing really feels like it has a good handle on the passage of time.
>>2499971with a dozen cartoony execution methods
>>2500387Let's School is supposed to be good. Campus isn't really that bad desu, just don't play Hospital before hand.
>>2495672>good thing I saved the room templates50% of the game's fun factor is interior design, why would you go full copy paste commieblock?
>>2499971Might actually be a good idea. Prison Architect 2 is in (late?) development but not only is it a switch to 3D, its a different developer for some reason, so maybe it'll flop.
>>2501258because you have to copy paste the same shit again and again and again
>>2502120>you have toagain WHY?this isn't PvP where you have to minmax to get a modicum of fun, change your layout
>>2502375Have you actually played the game?
I started playing Hospital again thanks to this thread. Then I tried to 3-star the last level in the alien DLC and remembered why I stopped.
>>2502392nohave you?
>>2502556I fucking LOATH that Two Point keeps adding these gay ass Where's Wally mechanics to their games.>Want to max out the science theme>Need to manually expose criminals for the security pole.DEAD ASS FUCK OFF.
It feels weird to me that Museum still doesn't have a history theme. Only prehistory, but nothing about historical human civilizations. Especially when the new DLC makes it sound like they've run out of museum ideas and are just doing whatever now.
>>2508342Ample space for a finno korean hyperwar dlc. It's a shame.
>>2508342I agree, but unfortunately the 'history' subject seems to be spread around as>ghosts (historical figures and eras)>wetlantian (for iron age)>science (for historical inventions)>fantasy (for middle ages)It's stupid, but I think they wanted to avoid any possibility of controversy.
How does Museum change things up? I liked Hospital at first but it way too repetitive, you literally do the same exact thing each level. I only booted up Campus once, it just seemed worse somehow.
>>2501258Most posters on this board are min-maxers who want a challenge. The Two-Point games go in the opposite direction and are for casuals and people who just want a chill experience. Idk why a min-maxer would touch these games, it's not compatible with their way of play.
>>2496489>>2495650yeah i think the sim-resort genre is underserved. then again, sim games are sort of dead now?
>>2508346>finno korean hyperwardo coreans really fantasize about this shit or was this just a youtuber meme?
>>2499966kekstart it but with anime nippon artists
>>2509560It's a /his/ meme before the board became atheist fedora shitflinging.
>>2509471Pretty much you don't build rooms out side of gift shops, bathrooms and staff rooms. If you have played ANNO 1800 it's the museum and expedition mini games more fleshed out. You have a map of POI that you send your staff on expeditions too and when they comeback the game gives you a loot crate that rolls exhibits from the POI. As you level up staff and hit certain thresh holds you unlock more POI that give rarer and better exhibits. There are also themes and sub themes to each exhibit as well that will attract certain types of guests to your museum, or can even change the guests to other types that effect how they behave and effect others. The two main stats are buzz and knowledge. Buzz is pretty much decor and how "cool" the exhibit it while knowledge is how much guests learn from the exhibit which can be increased by redoing expeditions and analyzing the dupes you get. Exhibits also have rarity quality like an RPG, so you can get an exhibit that is common quality which has less stats and then keep re-running till you get a epic quality one that gives way more. There are also "buzz bonuses" where exhibits will require specific decor items, or specific exhibits that can give them additional stats or traits. Some exhibits come in parts too so something like a dinosaur skeleton will need to be re-ran multiple times to find all the parts to complete it.Each of the themes too also generally play a bit different to mix things up on how you train your staff, get knowledge and so fourth. It's funny you say that TPH is repetitive because the devs even said that too about TPH and TPC, and Museum is set up so that instead of just building rooms over and over you are constantly changing and decorating your museum as you see fit. I actually find mini maxing to be more of a chore in Museum than in other tycoon games and rewards you more for thinking outside of the box.
>>2508342The top 3 requests from players where art, zoos, and theme parks. Art and zoos I can understand since aquariums are in the game but theme parks I never really understood. I did look in to it and there are actual theme park museums and it's common for theme parks to have historic rides so I guess it fits, even though for some reason they don't have wooden coasters in the DLC which like, the most famous historic coasters are all wooden. Lots of people have requested more "modern" and ancient history so I'm hoping we get it. I think they could probably do at lest a few more DLCs.
>>2509471There's a lot more focus on developing your staff. In similar games, you can sack staff whenever you need to reduce costs, but in Museum it will be punishing if you sack any of your most developed staff members.
>>2509560It's a meme making fun of all the people hyping up their national histories as world ending cosmic level civilizational struggles. I don't think koreans are even aware of it, but finns being finns are aware of it and find it hilarious. Also because Finns tend to hang out in the circles where it's memed far more than koreans. The game solar nations 2 also has a hyperwar scenario.
>>2495650Wanted Museum but costs too much + DLC hog.Didn't want Campus.Liked Hospital a lot but the gameplay loop is frustrating.>wait 6 hours on fastest speed to get 3 stars/level 5 staff>mixed skill staff are really bad>competitor high(est) scores are unattainable (Jumbo will have more patients and money than you can physically get)>zero deaths award>outbreaks, aka "Where's infectious Wally?">can join and block a queue from halfway across the map>restaurants are shit>staff needing to work and break across multiple buildings is really bad>marketing sucks>alternative wallpaper and floors are ugly>drinks, food and gifts make so little money you might as well set them to freeI just remember a lot of agent actions being frustrating. Probably all the usual classic problems, like janitors queuing up jobs from across the map when someone closer could do it. You eventually learn good things like don't cluster all your GP surgeries together or everyone gets sick, the bins will fill and the toilets will clog, but there are a lot of bad things where you're fighting how the game works. I remember restaurants being shit as soon as you get 2 stars worth of patients and you either make it staff only or close it for taking up too much space and being a pilgrimage to go eat.I remember being able to gender toilets for no reason at all, not even a happiness buff.>>2500921>set up the "alligator moat" in a room>corny description about giving those on death row the feeling of escape moments before their punishment, a last shred of happiness before becoming shreds>convict execution failed!>convict is escaping!>watch security chase him down before he gets outThen you'd have prisoner tortu- treatments like the rack (tickling with feathers), and the iron maiden (has a chance for catastrophic failure: death)>>2502961I recall needing up to 12 GP rooms for 3 star hospitals, especially DLC hospitals.Once you've built your 40th room, you stop caring.
Imagine a WWI / WWII / Cold War military history museum in the Two Point style
>>2509667>costs to muchThe fact all the two point games cost 30 bucks and dlc 10 is a fucking miracle. I've clocked almost 300 hours in museum, if 30 bucks is too much then you really are a poor fag.
have you played the modernize mod for theme hospital?
>>2509818Never heard of this. Tell moreAlso; anyone play Projrct Hospital?
>>2509852https://youtu.be/Y0oWNk96WyU
>>2509765Look if you want to drop a hundred on the game and its DLC, be my guest.I have TPH and its DLCs. I have 200 hours in it. I have not finished the DLCs because it's a massive time sink. I'd never recommend this series to a richfag because his time is worth more than a low high spread across several days.I'm going to assume Museum is the exact same deal, and I'm sorry your purchases don't feel justified if other people don't throw money away like you do.
>>2510231>So poor he has to project sour grapes on to others who are clearly enjoying it.
