>>2495272First truth nuke hits steam
>>2495600>the broken match engineThe shills presented that as FM26's strong suit though
How the fuck have I not seen a single FM27 leak despite random people being invited to playtest it this year? The only confirmed 'leak' so far has been someone showing an acceptance email for the playtest.
>>2495660Because they're all brown-noser redditors or content creators who depend on the series doing well I imagine.
I have this unproven theory that work ball into box leads to a higher xg but a lower amount of goals
>>2495665It's amusing watching the 'influencers' slowly transitioning back into shill mode. Of course they all shamelessly shilled for FM26, but some did at least realign their position with reality in order to cling on to a little credibility. That's all forgotten now though, suddenly they view the marketing from incompetent dishonest devs with a proven track record in delivering slop as the unerring word of God.Must suck to need to repeatedly compromise your integrity in order to cling on to a meagre income pretending to enjoy shit games.
>>2495669It should be the other way around in theory. Less overall shots which brings the xg down but more big chances which brings more goals or just balances out the output, with the main benefit being more defensive stability and control of possession. Maybe the game's internal xg model is more biased towards big chance count but that shouldn't be the case, in real life xg correlates with overall shot count more than big chance count.
>>2495665>content creators who depend on the series doing well I imagine.Lollujo is biggest shill for this
>>2495272>the thumbnail is a black manager and a black playerEvery time studios do this they go down the same path. Shows they're concerned about social point scoring and the pettiness that comes with it. It's a small sign their priorities are fucked and >>2495600 is a genuinely good post. 2026 seems to be dog shit through and through, I never played it because it looks utter crap. They skip an entire game because they're incompetent. Yet they play the silly marketing game. I was going to buy this on release but these 'reveals' have been shite and they're undoing fuck ups which should have been updates. The franchise is on the rocks, clearly.
>>2495769They're all the same. He's just the most retarded and therefore least able to disguise it.The worst are those who fence sit. Reluctantly accepting that FM26 was bad now that it's about to die, while fawning over the latest SI hype-slop for FM27, some going so far as to claim with confidence that a few screenshots prove hey fixed it and made a shit game into a great one.I fucking despise content creators, so desperate to avoid getting a proper job that they will say almost anything to keep their pathetic little grift alive. For lulz I recommend the FM Show lol, a temu podcast featuring the most pathetic and desperate specimens, all of whom seem to have been surgically grafted to SI's sphincter for the purposes of mainline fart inhalation.
>>2495600>the third lineunless people specify exactly what they mean by all that then I don't give a shit about what they say. it's so vague. it sounds to me like they don't want to play FM, which is fine. if they want football management simulation done differently then they can make their own game with its own take on it
>>2496071He literally goes on to explain what he means. The underlying systems and mechanics related to all those different elements. As he points out, it's the quality of those systems and mechanics that make or break a great strategy game. We all know this here on /vst/, perhaps better than anyone. To be fair none of those things have been great since CM became FM.
Caption timeWhat's big nog saying to little nog?
SI keeping the price of fm26 so high throughout the year is a fucking joke for a broken game. It it went for 5 euro I'd play it for a save but it never fell below 20 that I could see. Maybe they wanted as few people to buy it so people don't get put off.
>>2496076>"In English, the word manage — if you split the two words, it's man age — you're ageing men.”
>>2496071You only say that because you don't want to face the truth that the AI's squad managements and transfer activities have always been retarded, and that there have always been severe difference between the match engine and real life (distance covered and pass completion rates being extremely high even in bad/mediocre teams is the most egregigous example from the newer games)
>>2496084I feel like 26 and 27 should be red-colored scooters or something, and that 24 should be the racecar cover over a daily-driver sedan. 26/27 aren't trying to present themselves as dwarf-fortress-esque world simulators, they just want the FIFA career mode crowd and the rest of us can go fuck ourselves, but 24 is telling you that it's dwarf fortress while actually being the sims
>>2496165Ikind of agree with you. I ripped the original meme from steam. The poster left an interesting comment that explained his use of the Ferrari Testarossa to represent FM24...>That's why the Ferrari Testarossa is a perfect analogy. It's a dated car with a lot of flaws, famed for low quality interior and strange design decisions. But it's an iconic classic and fun to drive. That pretty much describes FM24. FM26 is an extremely badly executed copy, a kind of retarded hollowed out husk of its flawed and strangely designed predecessor.
>>2496153Autistic hyperfocus on minor statistics, most players enjoy FM as a football management simulator where they win with South American players and 4-2-3-1 gegenpress, nothing more
>>2496171With the explanation, the FM24 choice makes more sense, but 26 was deliberately trying to be something else. It failed at being something *good*, too. Hard to say 26 was more hollow than 24 when 24 was already pretty shallow and mostly smoke and mirrors, but I suppose hiding those smoke and mirrors in strange places behind seven pop-ups counts.
>>2496186>most players enjoy FM as a football management simulator where they win with South American players and 4-2-3-1 gegenpress, nothing moreI wouldn't even give the average player that much credit. The real median player enjoys managing Manchester United for two seasons and winning immediately, and then buying the next version because one of the big clubs bought Bacterinho Souza for 92m from Santos and they want to manage him, too.
>>2496186The series has rock-solid demand. At the height of dissatisfaction with the outdated ME the series was still growing. It shows that if anything they can afford to implement changes to the ME without suffering lower sales. When I make a tactic I want my consideration to revolve around the dynamics of a football match irl, not the meta oddities of the match engine.
>>2496186>>2496209Literally no better feeling than scouting an opposition, analysing the data, creating a match tactic to counter their strengths and expose their weakness, make adjustments in game as they adapt and win 2-0 as the underdogs. Learning about tactics instead of using meta tactics completely changes the game. Suddenly searching for players actually has a meaning and an average looking player who has the right traits, physical build and select attributes transforms the team. Or you just find someone with pace to do the job instead but that's boring. Some dude made a video where he said he scouts players mostly based on data, did a big analysis of the weight attributes have on their season statistics and found some really interesting correlations. Can't find the video but it was a good watch.
>>2496234Strategy vs. tactics is a thing irl too. There's plenty of managers irl that nerds hate because they're not hyper-tactician dorks, people like Klopp and Ancelotti. So if it's not an absolute requirmenet irl then you shouldn't have to be a hyper-tactician dork to enjoy a football management sim either. All I care about is the football in the match engine to match real life, that's all.

>>2497148So, nothing substantial. No one cares about graphics, retards!
they're calling it the biggest FMing of all time
>>2497148I don't understand how whatever they claim they're doing a deep dive on manages to look fucking awful in their own propaganda videos. The UI/UX video showed a bunch of broken tiles, flickering UI elements, and completely unaligned text. The match day atmosphere video shows a bunch of completely alien-looking motherfuckers, broken and stuttering animations, and 10 fps video. The "deeper world" dive just showed a bunch of things that were cut from 24 without anything new. Every single piece of 'hype' content they release manages to make them appear as though they either do not care or they are not competent enough to care about any of the details. There are definitely some growing pains of working with a new engine and releasing preview footage, but they burned all of the goodwill they ever had and now keep releasing sloppy, incomplete, unimproved jank. And all of that was done so they could improve the match day graphics. The players still skate around like they're on ice and the animations look like they have fewer joints than some stick man flash animations from 2007. We lost the UI we've used for 20 years for pic related. They gave up on every other piece of the game so that they could chase fifa 05 graphics.
>>2497929these wouldn't hurt so much if the player got one in their favour sometimes. it only ever seems to be the CPU teams that get to win despite being outplayed.
The new community manager on Reddit is actually communicating pretty well, after so long dealing with poor communication from SI it's like a breath of fresh air.

>>2501985Was this game ever good? I never played it because I hate spreadsheet crap and I found out the AI managers don’t actually adapt to your tactics or that half of the player stats don’t really affect their performance. I could accept the spreadsheets if it was at least a simulation like Dwarf Fortress but if it is not then why even bother
>>2501982Don't know never tried international
>>2501991>the AI managers don’t actually adapt to your tacticsThey adapt strictly to reputation, don't let the shills tell you otherwise. The common mid-season drop offs in results is the match engine hard nerfing your team performances to force bad results on you and has nothing to do with AI playing smarter.
>>2501993All they do is clog the defence or play more defensive stretched pitch, direct football. If you have tactics that counter that, there is no slump.
I recommend OOTP27 to people that like FM, it's a bit more autistic which is a good thing.
>>2501991It's good if you can accept the AI's limitations. They never develop youth and never build a squad properly. If you make okay decisions you will succeed eventually, as every AI manager just slowly fucks up every other team. This is why people do challenges like only fielding players from Liechtenstein etc, because then it has a bit of a challenge.
I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't done a Como/Nico Paz save so far. Haven't even managed in Italy whatsoever.
>>2502998It was fun to manage in before Italy had its youth rating reduced. It was possible to win Serie A using only eyeties in like FM13.
Be honest, how much time does one need to be comfortable in FM? I have 26 but i kinda have no idea, i'm new to management games.

>>2505610I'm not entirely convinced it's limited to *only* Mike. If it were just the lead director being retarded, I would anticipate terrible decisions being made, but those decisions would actually be executed. SI releases a yearly copy-paste of the same game where the most impressive feature (the database) is entirely crowdsourced from volunteers. Their actual work comes out half-baked or utterly inconsequential at best, or utterly broken and completely disconnected from everything else at worst. Their insistence on abandoning everything that gave FM its unique selling point, as shallow as it was, for FIFA 05 graphics makes sense from Mike being a blithering mongoloid; the fact that after that decision was made, they still fucking suck at making anything resemble humans after nine years of trying says there's a much deeper-rooted issue than just Mike.
>>2505615It's not limited only to Miles. But Miles calls the shots. >>2505016i thought the reasoning behind it and even the departure from 2d facegen software years ago was that they want the regen faces to be visible in the 3d match engine. Of course this is, imo, the kind of design choice an insane person would make.another thing that is very SI is their reluctance to show player faces even on screens that would clearly benefit from them being there, tactics, goalscorer screen etc. Then there are other screens like leaderboards where the faces are like 25x25 so you are squinting at an ant that might be danny ings
>>2507535>they want the regen faces to be visible in the 3d match engine. That is what they've claimed, and I agree that it is insane, but I also would expect a game dev who has had ten years to try and follow through on that insane choice to actually have *done it* at some point. SI hasn't ever managed to get them even reasonably human-looking for any edition in that timeframe. That free game time will carry over should they decide to buy the game, making refunds impossible. Anyone who thinks it's a pile of shit and chooses not to buy won't be able to post a review without paying full price for the privilege. It's a known tactic for limiting negative reviews. Accordingly it signals that SI is expecting an overwhelmingly negative response.Be smart, resist the free time. Buy on release, play for two hours, then decide. Don't throw your review or refund rights away for a few free hours playing patched FM26, like all the low impulse control spastics will.

>>2508962Before I used to just mass scout all the known wonderkid factories. Nowadays I just set up search filters for u17 kids around the world.Make or break stuff for me is determination 10+ with required technical and physicals. Easy ones to find are international kids who are playing above their age, I.e. 17 or 18 year old on an u21. Also don't touch anyone that is injury prone or hates big matches.
>>2508962Usually just look for those who already have senior caps as teenagers. Also pick a league then sort players by average rating.
>>2508750>pisses and shits at any pushbackSad!
>>2509610Nothing sadder than shilling for Miles of all people. Anyway NTA but the process he laid out is pretty intuitive>people try out F2P>it stinks>can't give a negative review without a full purchase>obviously the disappointed player is not going to purchase a game they already know stinks>as a result game gets less negative reviews than without F2P
>>2509748It sounds plausible considering that Sega is likely pressuring them to hit certain KPIs after the last two years. And I don't think Miles is smart enough to figure this out on his own. So what are the examples of this tried and tested method for slashing refunds and bad reviews?
>>2508401>Be smart, play for two hours instead of dozensnah I don't think that's smart at all anon

Will it be worth getting fm27 if I'm still on fm21? Assuming it's not just a steaming pile of cow shit like fm26 seemed to be, I have 1000's of FM hours and fm21 is almost perfect for me. Are additional features worth the upgrade? I can easily afford the game but I cannot handle being ripped off.
>>2511677>I can easily afford the gameThen you must do your part to support SI against the haters who wish to bring it down.
>>2511677you know the old saying "if you love something, then pay for that thang"
Cracked fm 21, played as a 20 yo "who?" with max states, after 3 months of unemployement even by 3rd leaugue teams I only got accpeted by Serbia under 21, anyways here are some screenshots
>>2511766
>>2511768After the main Serbia team decided to take my nest midfielders we fumbled against european shitters in the tables round of the euro so I decided to gtfo to train a french team in the 3rd division I will make our of them another Cumo
>>2511769Anyways some time passed and since Im 2nd in the 3rd french league (aka I get promoted) I decided to watch how would Ancelloti deal with the 3-1 defeat against PSG in the semi finals, I was very Impressed to say the least
>>2511771
>>2511772They didnt show it in the Highlights but appearently got hos ribs broken and is out for like 4 weeks lmfaooo how does that even happen without a yellow or red card?
>>2511677It's going to be free to play starting tomorrow for a week, so you can try it before you buy it.
>>2511766Which nationality? I always pick Colombian (I'm an escaped coca farm hand on the run from the cartel) and even with no experience or qualifications I can eventually get a job in the second division in Chile or Uruguay.
>>2511677NoFm26 had negative news features, so 99% of things added to 27 that weren't in 26 are just reimplementing things from 24The only genuinely new feature is the ability for players to ignore your tactical instructions
Streamers already showcasing fm27 ahead of tomorrow's free week
>>2511999>StreamersPaid shills*
>>2511999Match engine looking the same. Only way to see if the tactical stuff is different is to test it over and over.
are we gaming fm27 today?
>>2512520yuknow i actually mighteven though i'm not buying it
I will not engage with any new product of SI. Even if I don't pay, I worry my engagement could be used to manipulate player counts or playing time statistics. Since my interest is the permanent departure of Miles Jacobson and the current SI team from any involvement in Football Manager development, I cannot in good consicence play even a minute, purchased or free.
>>2512548wouldn't the free to play but not purchase be better?>miles we had hundreds of billions playing the free weekend, what happened??
>>2512520Wondering the best way to use the 5 days, it's probably only going to be a season or two at bestI'm thinking the saudi league
>>2512603pic is you
>it's shit
Game is now out but restart steam
Yeah restart Steam if it's not available. Downloading now :3
I haven't played since '24, why the fuck isn't there a setting to view attribute numbers?
i don't like it
Another year of fucking WANK!!!!Back to 24 for me, might torrent 27 if I can be arse, shan't be paying.
I don't get it, why can I still not just show the national flag by itself without the fucking text. I reported this on the SI forums at the start of FM26. I hate SI so fucking much.
THISISIT!!!!!!!!!#IAPOLOGIZEMILES
i wanted to give it try (never played an fm)>understands nothing just put gegenpress on georgia, idk if its good or bad
copen hagen womens team really wanted to hire Nick Digger the no badges no experience wheelchair bound pragmatistI accidentally accepted because apparently the delay button is now in the contract talks window
>>2512924my guy's got 3 legs and still cant walk
>>2509205Found this to be very helpful so far. I'm also adding "average rating 7+" for players from small/obscure countries, they should at least be styling on their league if they're worth importing.
>>2512924they call him the Green Ibraheem
>>2508962I like searching for physical attributes since those peak earlier if I'm not mistaken
I'm liking FM27 so far. The UI feels way better than 26, the customization is better, the menu feels really smooth.
>>2512924why is he so curved in that chair he looks like a fucking mutant
Been a fair few years since I've bought an FM game, 19 was the last one in fact. Is 27 worth it to upgrade? And where the fuck is the /sp/ thread?
>>2513012a lot of the longtime regulars left or quit playing so the thread gets gobbled up quickly. it doesn't help that those still here has seen all that has to be seen from fm24. and nobody had the stomach for fm26 to be able to get discussion going. maybe this free week can get people going again.
>>2513019Aw man, that's a shame. Like you say though, hopefully there'll be enough activity this weekend to have a /trb/ thread again.
>>2513012It's currently free to play, give it a shot
>>2512972scoliosis
the UI is definitely better than 26. Have to get through a season or 2 though to see how player development and transfers go
Post your Professor X cosplay
>>2512924>Nick DiggerYou can just name yourself Nigger Retard. Maybe you could in the previous games as well but I just never felt the need to until now
This is enough for me, pre-ordered.
haven't played 26 because I think it looks like absolute shit so I gave 27 a go since it was free>start in some average league and team>start trying to fuck around with transfers>offer trial to 30 people>the inbox window doesn't update properly when I'm clicking on the next "red" message and jumps to the top while I need to scroll down again to see it chronologicallyThis is absolute ass.
i figured out why i don't like the look of the uiit's trying to be one of those holographic displays that float in the air from scifi movies
>>2513249Shit looks like it was vibecoded in AI in 5 minutes
At least the performance is a million times better than FM24.
>>2513342i won't switch from 24 but i really like the match engine/graphics upgrades and the in/out tactics, even if they are clunkyit's much easier to see where your players will be and what they'll be doingjust bring back the old look lmao, and the team instructions are a disaster
My first act in FM27 will be to recall Woltemade from loan
>>2513342Yeah I've noticed the performance improvements as well. It feels like the menus are much smoother, and saving is very fast for me. I remember when it used to take a few minutes to save lol.
It's still shit lolSome really minor and superficial improvements, but the meat of the game - match engine, training and tactics, UI/UX, AI etc - is still absolute dog shit.
>go on the official forums>see a post like pic related>feel the urge to murder said poster with a hammer his nickname is anagain
I hope people can make some skins because some of the ux choices make me feel like it's gonna cause burn in on my monitor with how some things are brighter than others for no reason.
>>2513407There really is no real direction this game is going for. Artstyle, color palette, it all matters in vidya. And here you feel like the colors are just random and it makes your head hurt because it's not intuitive especially compared to FM24 and before.
the club colors are a blight on my eyes and make some clubs unplayable
the UI is an assault on the eyes, it's simultaneously so crowded with little use.coulda had a skins maker design it better lol
>>2513419>both cluttered and with lots of empty unused space at the same time>unoptimized for 1080p kek
>>2513406>makes a review/public judgement after a few minutesWhy, unless it's brownie points.
>>2513424The redditor spirit carries over to other forums
>>2513424virtue signalling to feel superior
>my centre forward sprinting to CDM when we lose the ball
>3 years of the fucking dev>fm24 is still better
>>2513488>move to unity so it "runs and looks better">runs and looks worse
this free week is not enough time for me to make a choice on buying it. i need to get through at least a couple seasons to see how manager hirings/firings and transfers affect clubs and I doubt it's any different than it usually is.>>2513488the timeline had them as early as FM22 as the switch to unity.it could unironically take them 15 years to hit something someone else would do in 5
>>2513499> runs worseAbsolutely not true, invalidates your point to say this desu.
>>2513574People have been reporting their temperatures increase 30-50% compared to FM26. So it runs worse.
>>2513566I haven't played 26 at all because I thought it looked like shit so I skipped it completely. I still remember many complaints from 26 and I see some of it still being there in 27. This shit is just different for the sake of being different. They changes where some things are for no real reason. They made it less intuitive for no real reason. They fucked up the color palette that makes many things way harder to read, too. What the FUCK is with those design changes? They released this beta and it looks like they didn't even play it properly. I've managed to see misaligned windows, scores and whatever else in around 10 minutes after starting a save. What the fuck? Did no one fucking playtest this at all? Think I'll just play 24 with an updated DB even if it's shit.
>>2513676>They changes where some things are for no real reason. They changed some things for no real reason*I need a coffee kek
>see a weird glare on the pitch during some matches>light suddenly changes and looks way brighter and the color is less intensive for the rest of the gameGreat work SI
I hate how I can't arrange a friendly by just selecting a date on the calendar anymore instead, it takes me to a page that says nothing about whether I already have a match set for that date and what if I want to arrange multiple friendlies? I had to do this one by one and it wasn't fun.
>>2513691UI was made by literal vibecoding monkeys.
Why does this feel like a mobile game
How is it then? Is it still a buggy mess like last year? I had to refund last year...Im kinda surprised no indie studio jumped on the opportunity and just made a trimmed down, polished game. Just 2d top down etc.
>>2513774>Im kinda surprised no indie studio jumped on the opportunity and just made a trimmed down, polished game. Just 2d top down etc.Impossible, no other developer possesses a research network as extensive as SI for its database. It would have to be a major project by someone with cash to burn, not an indie thing. And even that would carry risk.
MILES
>>2513778Just do completely procedural-gen world then. And allow import of community database. FM is more fun when you FFW 10 years and play with all the regens anyway
>>2513783You won't see meaningful business with this approach, SI would trounce you. People pay money for a real-world database, the demand is untouchable. You'd have to meet that demand to compete, and outsourcing it to community imports would only tell consumers that your product is two-bit.
>>2513759I think some of the backlash against the UI is because everyone knows the game isn't actually very "deep," so when it starts to look like a mobile game you are more aware of the ways it functions like one too>>2513778I still think the big hurdle is the match engine, not the database, the match engine (even as it is) is actually a huge technical feat. I think a competitor that really focuses on capturing the feelings and emotions of something no one actually cares about like the Czech league would have a place in the market, and you don't need 100 leagues or 500,000 players
>>2513793>I think some of the backlash against the UI is because everyone knows the game isn't actually very "deep," so when it starts to look like a mobile game you are more aware of the ways it functions like one tooYeah, it's just more apparent this way. I don't need a pop up window for almost anything I click. I don't need a shitty drop-down menu on other things that I click that will move back the moment I accidentally move my mouse somewhere else. I have to admit it's funny how 1080p on a laptop screen works a lot better than 1080p on a 23' screen. The shit on the top of your screen, all the options, feel like just wrong things being fleshed out and put in front of you. To get to transfers I need to go Recruitment -> Transfers -> Transfer Activity. Instead of just clicking "transfers". What a load of shit. It may be better if someone releases a FM24-like skin.
>>2513967>have to click an additional button for the hexagon to show up>can't put it ANYWHERE in the players screen in a random window that I wouldn't care about
>>2513971Who's Ligger?
>>2513973Ligma balls>go to club vision/performance window>Board Support is shown in actual ratings while Fan Support is just shown in emoticonsWhy? Just why? Why make the design choice that you make it different when it's virtually the same since we can see the different colors?Fucking WHY?
>>2513967>>2513970Aren't there different modes you can pick in the settings for how you prefer the menuing to go?
>>2514003Not in a way that I could adjust it so it would be more similar to FM24.

>>2513782IT HAPPENED AGAIN
>>2513782>>2514022it's touching the white line by 1 pixel so it's not a goal la'
why did they make installing real names so fucking compilated why do you need to remove all this useless crap
>>2513978I consider myself a bit of an FM crest aficionado and I've never seen that crest before in my life. Also never managed in Poland, however.
>>2514084That's just Motor Lublin, been in Ekstraklasa for a few years now. God tier striker up front - Czubak.
I really don't know who came up with the idea that when you enter any league competition to check some stats you see a big ass window with transfers (no one cares) but the goal/assist/etc is a small wndow you have to scroll down in to see all the startsSeriously ths shit looks vibecoded fo cuk
