Also, forgot to add, fantasy mods for historical games also welcome.

As always, asking for anons to recommend me mods for Rome 2, especially one's that make units look more visually accurate to history.
    And also, post screenshots.

idk, thats how their historians chose to interpret it for the polybian romans

    >VI.23
    > [1] The next in seniority called hastati [*ἁστάτοις / hastatois*] are ordered to wear a complete panoply [*πανοπλίαν / panoplian*]. [2] The Roman panoply consists firstly of an oblong shield [*θυρεός / thureos*], the convex surface which measures two and a half feet in width and four feet in length, the thickness at the rim being a palm's breadth, [3] It is made of two planks glued together, the outer surface being then covered first with canvas and then with calf-skin. [4] Its upper and lower rims are strengthened by an iron edging which protects it from descending blows and from injury when rested on the ground. [5] It has an iron boss fixed to it which turns aside the more formidable blows of stones, pikes, and heavy missiles in general.
    >[15] but those who are rated above 10.000 drachmas wear instead of the breastplate [καρδιοφύλακος / kardiophylakos] a coat of chain-mail [ἁλυσιδωτοὺς περιτίθενται θώρακας / alysidotous peritithentai thorakas]. [16] The principes [πρίγκιπας / prinkipas] and triarii [τριαρίους / triarious] are armed in the same manner except that instead of the pila [ὑσσῶν / hysson] the triarii [τριάριοι / triarioi] carry spears [δόρατα / dorata].

As a big bronzaboo I'd say they pass a layman's sniff test but there is stuff which is not authentic to the period, either because it's very clearly drawing from a later period (Assyrian/Babylonian stuff) or there's just not the material on hand (Thracians, Trojans). I may be wrong but I don't remember anything that felt glaringly out of place like Troy2004 dudes or anything. When I looked at the units my issue was more too much bronze and not enough rawhide for scales or shields and such. It's the equivalent of having Romans running around with iron-faced iron-rimmed iron-backed shields.

For my project I'm trying to curtail the natural bias to 'fun unit design' over 'tedious unit placement' by holding myself to implementing the actual code for Assyria, Babylonia and Elam in a lump sum once I have the VMDs done for their units. Since I have to re-do the unit stats entirely it feels more efficient to do it all in a lump group rather than piecemeal. I did do a draft run of it and, assuming I have it right (looking at the amazon mod for a frame of reference to see what he had to add for a brand new unit table wise) it's not AS bad as I was worried, but it's still spreadsheet hell.

Unit cards wre also fun to make, as I felt like since you look at them more often than the actual VMD on the battlefield it makes more sense to make them look fancier.

I'm missing some like Assyria's sappers and I have to double check if Assyria's earlier chariots had a shieldman, but Row 1-2 are Assyria 3 up to the armored slinger is Babylonia, then the last 5 are Elam.

Yeah for Pharaoh. Goal is to make a 8th-6th century campaign experience deeply rooted in research to the best of my abilities. I'll even include little images documenting the most salient evidence I could find since with the less popularly known factions people could think some choices are just spurrious and unfounded. For example Phrygia, threadbare as it is, has an amazing depiction from Gordium Megaron 3 frieze (wish I had remembered where I got the freize from, thankful as I am to have saved it) of two handed lances and shields on their back for heavy cavalry in the 8th century. Similarly by cross-referencing Aeschylus The Persians (41-47), Sappho's Anactoria, Jeremiah 46:9 and to an extent Xenophon's Cyropaedia (~IV I think) we can draw an idea of Lydian chariotry being heavy but also bow armed, despite the usual presumption of a Western charioteer by now being either javelins or dismount.

There's a lot where I'm having to purely innovate, but after enough digging I am surprised at how much material I've been able to find. Some areas worse than others though.

Problem is I am a serial abandooner of projects and I get caught in the weeds of 'what's fun to tinker with vs what's practical to get the project moving fast'. Worst case scenario I give up and just upload everything I got to the workshop and tell people go nuts. Better case scenario is I release either staggered or all at once the new faction rosters, then try and overhaul the campaign map to be 8th century but I don't know how difficult it is to change startpos positions via scripting.

    >>
    >>2440576
Despite the backlash it's not a "bad" game. I like the multi resource economy and regional recruitment playing a bigger role in campaign, the fact that terrain plays bigger role in battles. You can play a scheming canaanite merchant taking over egypt. It's okay. It is a bit of a Rome 2_2_2 though. Despite coming out after 3K and CA pretending it's a "mainline" game it's based on troy which is based on wh2 so you don't get things like 3K's much better diplo and it's mostly just the same rome 2 mechanics with some faction unique stuff, so I wouldn't call it particularly good either.
If you are legit interested in bronze age or just want to play a few campiagns in a different setting it's not a bad pick on sale, but it just doesn't really bring anything new to the table and exist only because "historical" fans would go apeshit if it went a decade with no new games and nothing on the horizon (which sort of failed because nobody accepted it as a mainline game anyway)

I don't know if he admits it explicitly but there's really no other way it's possible. He 100% decompiled the binaries. With modern tools and AI thrown in it's probably not that hard for someone motivated and skilled in reverse engineering.

State of the world in 416, ~20 turns before Attila arrives (first playthrough so only on Hard).

West: 4 field armies, 2 in Italy 2 in the Balkans. I was hoping to colonise northern Italy but the time it takes to get high-tier cities might make it impossible to get properly set up (Milan has not even a level 1 village yet).

East: 4 field armies, now the Sassanids are neutered I was hoping to pull 2 armies back to Europe and leave just one in Ctesiphon and some garrisons in Armenia.

I think I fucked up since I didn't build any unit recruitment buildings except for cav, so to get to the top tier for onagers/infantry it will take way more than 20 turns (presuming I don't want to do it somewhere faraway like Syria). Not sure if I am overextended either... maybe Pannonia will have to go.

I hate bloat mods and I was starting to see it turn into that the more I tinkered with it.

Do you know if there's a way to add more character portraits through mods? Or is that hardcoded? I know it's autistic but I can't get over the fact that each faction gets like 3 non-unique character models so if you play long enough (or just play as a generic faction) everyone looks the fucking same.

The game is called Pharaoh dynasties ffs, but if you actually want to play long enough for "dynasties" to kick in you need to put up with same face for some reason.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3320741050
This mod does improve the variety, and given they were able to do so I suspect it is possible. Oh, you said portraits.

campaign_character_arts_table = this has the art set ID, the uniform (goes to agent_uniform_table)
campaign_character_art_sets_Table = this has the art ID, the main_unit

You could reverse engineer how I assume that mod did it. Alternatively, in the RPFM the bottom row will tell you if you have a file error. IE if you make a new entry and you are missing it in table dsfargeg_blahblahblah then it'll give you a warning.

So yes it should def be possible. I'll try and do a draft example in the near future and post here the workflow if I do. God I am not looking forward to that. Frankly relating to what I say below it would be far smarter to put that autism towards lords and not units as much.

    >>2445115
The way I'll phrase it is thinking with your stomach or more so getting lost in the forest for the trees. When you are looking up close at units in my case, you get lost in the details that frankly are rarely ever observed except in screenshots. Hence why my earlier stuff had the absurdity of maybe 20 different tunics - that said, it would also be used across units so there's a benefit down the line.

The only way I can see fighting against the bloat and writers block is to try and parcel your project so you can do it in bite sized chunks.
    >>
    >>2445491
I mean the idea would be to have more variations for generic characters. Right now I think it's something like 2 variations per character type (guardian, archer or whatever the names are) so in total it's like 8 variations per culture
    >>
    >>2445741
The issue I'd see is just how many variations of a variation you need. For bay as an example, he has:
~38 different VMDs of him and his equipment. Granted half of these are his elder form, which just swap the skin.

In the character arts table bay has 102 art set Ids, since there is one for each of his forms (young vs old, each unit type he can be, then for each unit type medium vs large vs small shield, medium armor vs heavy). Thankfully the card just requires a single card - except that I believe every lord has to have their monarchal form, too. Again with bay as an example, he's got: ~6 with 5 of them swapping the headgear.

Now multiply that by 8 and then repeat for each culture and you can see how tedious it gets, even if a lot of it is just quick data entry of 'swap this line for that'. You can always scale down the bodyguard variety while scaling up the number of lord VMDs (appearances) which is what I intend to do, or just add onto those VMDs in vanilla with your own (Which is what you could do). But your goal should def be doable. I see no reason on the face of it why this would be hardcoded. You'd just have to figure out what db table says "use XYZ entries for possible lords of culture ABC".

It's weird for me but I am kinda disappointed M3 won't go that far. I used to prefer high medieval to renaissance/early pike and shot but now I really would love a 1500s total war. I am sure we'll get it eventually but it would make for an absolutely fantastic setting with the religious wars of Catholic vs Protestant and Sunni vs Shia being a kind of early game realm divide to keep things spicy.

It's hard to discuss what has been mostly discussed to death. Besides the EX projects, what other new mods are there? What cool things are there to say about campaigns we've all played a hundred times? At this point I'm kind of content with what's there; I don't want to hype myself up over mods that promise the moon just to be as buggy/janky as ca's work, or stuffed full of changes that only the modder themself could like, or disappear because of modder drama. The most I'm hopeful for is someone else offering real competition to total war, and so far almost no one who has stepped up has come close.
    >>
    >>2461655
If Med 3 becomes half decent aka 1-2 years after release and shit tons of patches, and manages to maintain a relative good player base, I can see them doing an stand alone expansion a la FOTS for renaissance period.
Though I think it would be funny if the base game would let you carry your campaign all the way to the lates 17th century and make actual proper line infantry recruitable as super elite late game unlockable - easter egg. But I mean something like 300-400 turns in and basically researching all techs available.
    >>
    >>2466771
DLC wise to me their options are:
    >Russian steppe, maybe just a general slice from the Urals down through to Central Asia.
Near guarantee. Aside of political drama (which makes no sense when Kiev is the main star of the Rus, Moscow doesn't even exist yet) this is a shoe in, and I think including Central Asia makes a lot of sense.
    >South to Mali, Ethiopia, Yemen
Low chance. I would like it but I can see lower chances of it given the lack of enthusiasm from fans.
    >India
Lowest chance. Aside of designated street shitposting about India you'd get something else to do in Central Asia than just turn towards Iran and Mesopotamia.
    >Far east
This feels obvious but having done M3 before 20 fucking years also felt obvious yet CA didnt' do it.
    >Americas
No real chance of this unless they do renaissance total wars.

Campaign period wise I expect something, FLC like Imperator Augustus or DLC like Empire Divided, that sets you in the 14th century so you get immediately the 100 years war and black death. A renaissance 1500 to late 1600s is also obvious as an attila style DLC. I shill for this a lot because it would have fantastic unit variety and have a realm divide for Christendom, Islam (in theory) and Japan all relatively early in the campaign.
    >>
    >>2466934
What I shill for RenTW would be the Reformation happens just ~40 or so turns in, and leads to vicious religious feuding with some degree of fluidity to who stays catholic or goes protestant. Islam around the same time was having a new flareup of Sunni-Shia as well with Safavids vs Ottomans and a scarily modern style of genocide by the Turks (years/decades earlier did a census of Shia citizens, then used said census to decide who to kill) and the Japanese get Sengoku Jidai.

    >>2466365
I don't have much to report on my pharaoh project. I finished the arabs and ported some of the Persian gear I got permission to use, and figured out a gimmick to have the DEI 'javelins in the offhand' disappear when the unit enters melee (by choice or running out of ammo). Tl;dr is the actual shield is the 2 javelins, the shield proper are rigged accessories. When they are in melee the 'shield' (2jav) disappears, when they are in ranged it reappears.

I have Urartu to do before I actually data-edit in the Assyrians/Elamites/Urartu/Babylonians, but I haven't done chariots yet since I was going to wait on doing that last. There's also generals to do, but I have to figure out how general units are assigned first as I want to scale back the needless complexity of small/medium/large shield and heavy/medium bodyguards. Like Assyria and it should be Qurubuti chariot/cavalry/spearmen, an unarmored cavalry, and maybe qurubuti archers and that's it.
    >>
    >>2466528
Pharaoh is a very pretty game. I was attacking Troy (after it was already occupied by Greeks) and I just took a minute to admire the map as my siege towers carrying Hittite soldiers were assaulting the walls.
    >>
    >>2443015
the simplest way to deal with the huns is to spam full stack of spearman, you can recruit them in any settlements, manually play every battle and corner camp + testudo on every unit. the AI will suicide charge you and you will eventually kill all of the cav severely weakening the range foot soldiers also.
by doing manual combat you will never wipe out entire stacks, the IA will replace the missing units with low tier mercenaries or spears, when attila gets killed in a battle or in a event then it's time to clean the huns armies with good quality troops.

Fellow Hellenboo here. The draw of ancient Greece is Athen's naval expansion and the fight against Persia and I have never seen any game that do justice to those aspect. 90% of time, Athens is gimped because the naval side is barebone, Persia is too strong and Greece is never united to resist.
    >>2472578
Classical Greece doesnt overlap with the rise of Rome. The Greeks in any Roman game will be in their boring stage . You want them in the your Xerxes, your Pericles, your Alexander era
    >>
    >>2473004
I mean, that's the appeal, campaign map painting is not that interesting to me.
I wish the games had more robust custom battles, where you could control both (or more) sides and their units, more and different unit placements and so on.
Full blown toy soldiers control of an experience.

Total War games need better custom battles.
    With options such as:
Controlling multiple or all factions at the same time (kind of like hotseat mode, which needs to return for campaigns too)
Placing units at the start where you want
    Mixing units from different factions
    Ultimate toy soldiers mode.

Have a friend at CA who I recently caught up with. I'll have to be obviously vague but here's what I got out of him after a few beers:

    1. Morale at CA has greatly improved - its the best it's ever been in the few years he's worked there

    2. The Medieval 3 engine and campaign mechanics are being built as sandboxy as possible because it will be the de facto template for subsequent historical releases (the same way Rome 2 set the "blueprint" for the next decade of TW). He thinks high likelihood of Empire 2 being the next historical TW but he isn't 100%

    3. CA execs seen to think TW40K has the potential for the highest revenue for any TW to date. He's not on the 40K team but says he's heard some reservations internally about how battle mechanics are shaping up - doesn't think the historical community or even a good chunk of the existing TWWH fanbase will enjoy how the battles play, but is optimistic they're making some good decisions on the campaign front

    4. The next TW to release won't be 40K or Med 3 but rather a surprise Shogun 2 remaster, set to be revealed this month. Doesn't know much about it but it's seen as easy money for something fairly low effort. CA aware that Shogun 2 is overall one of the best regarded TWs and is trying to fix controversy from things like removing the chat functionality and breaking Avatar Conquest.

If anyone has any specific questions you want me to ask then send away. Fair warning that it might be a little while before I catch up with him again.
    >>
    >>2481834
    Bullshit but I believe it.png.

Only thing I'd ask is remaster or remake. Remaster is what the rome1 thing was, remake would be more like Bethesda's oblivion remake.
    >>
    >>2482208
Remaster or some kind of enhanced rerelease I'm fairly certain, not a full remake. Original engine but port to restore features and make more compatible with modern resolutions etc. Also bundles all the DLCs. I'll ask him more about it next time we speak. I won't ask you to believe me but remember this post and you'll see I'm telling the truth in a few weeks when its revealed

People really wanted a Medieval 3, the release was just three cultures/factions that weren't the more popular Mesopotamians and Greeks and also there's a strong streak of vgh greater gross germany/equivalents in the community where if you can't play as Western Europeans they're not interested.

    >>2482422
oh like I said it's a pic related feeling of on the one hand it's "my dad works at nintendo" yet on the other hand your claims are entirely plausible, reasonable and will likely be true. So I do habeeb (believe) it.

Only area I am not sure on is 40k seems like it is shaping up to release soon in 2027, so shogun remake would have to drop between now and let's say summer.

    >He's not on the 40K team but says he's heard some reservations internally about how battle mechanics are shaping up - doesn't think the historical community or even a good chunk of the existing TWWH fanbase will enjoy how the battles play, but is optimistic they're making some good decisions on the campaign front
Frankly watching it made me feel like it was Dawn of War 1 more than total war if that makes sense. Also saw Rimmy say it felt a bit more like a conventional RTS than a total war game. So that checks out.

I think it will be fine and fun, but it will validate the claims some of us made about 40k not being suitable for the total war engine. Or rather it's going to be a kind of "both sides have valid takes" - it clearly is possible to pull off and pull off effectively enough, but it's also such a breach from proper total war that it will be the least total war of the total wars.

I just saw that theres a new mod for Attila, 32bit engine improver which should make it run faster

has anyone tried it yet? this is like the 3rd mod to try to make it run better but none of them work significantly
    >>
    >>2482523
It was overpriced as fuck for what it offered, also the battles felt too much like Warhammer but without the magic shit (same engine), and the chariots were über janky.
It's also not a great introduction to the bronze age, either. Feels too whimsical and fantasy inspired because of the precedent set by Troy (also same engine).
    >>
    >>2482523
Bunch of Warhammer drama spilled over to it to "punish" CA. They asked $70 when it was effectively Troy2, made by the B team and perceived as too narrow in scope to be called a "mainline historical game". They have discounted it (even retroactively for those who brought it) and extended it eventually but damage was done. (As a sidenote personally thought the scope thing was misguided anyway, people are too used to a decade of warhammer and forgot historical games didn't really have that many cultures and rosters in general)
Also some hisfags really just want to play (holy) roman empire and were mad it's anything but europe again.

Oh yeah you got validated with the shogun 2 news, so it was not bullshit but I habeebed it.

Only real thing I'd ask is how long M3 is away. I assume 40k in 2027, but for M3 I'd wager 2029? I'm bogged down in Pharaoh modding but so long as M3 doesn't ambush us in 2027 I should be fine, else I don't see why I should continue to work if I'll shift gears to M3.

    >>2489438
Attila if we are lucky would get an update for performance, especially given how super popular it is mod wise. Given they aren't doing a 3K2 it would be nice to see them return to do a Northern DLC, but I was just thinking that, unlikely as it is, it'd be neat if they did do say an Attila performance update that also included a bridge campaign between M3 and Charlemagne/Thrones. So 900s-1000. Won't happen but would be nice.
    >>
    >>2489655
Ive personally never had any issues with attila, but I do hear people complain should be pretty easy to move over fixes from rome 2 to atilla I'd think. I feel like they might just look at the games that have the most players over the ones that need the most help though. Certainly not expecting anything for Empire for example. I'm actually really excited to go back to rome 2 when the pantheon updates are done in like a year though. DLC probably out of the scope, but what im curious about is they explicitly said they couldn't bring rome 2 to 64bit during dev talks but they are for shogun 2. I wonder why that is?

NTA but they're doing 1140 to 1440. Hundred Years War, Hussite Wars, etc. There's definitely going to be guns.

    >And is there any info on how it will differ campaign-wise from more recent TW's?
He says they want to cover every possible mechanic that could be needed in later TW games but from the way they're presenting it, I get the impression they're simply out of ideas as to how to make the campaign side work so they're copying Paradox. Simulating a billion random different things and hoping people will enjoy it.
It's basically "SEGA, Hire that guy!" for whatever idiot always screams that TW campaign needs to become a Paradox game (in this case CK3) and it will be perfect, gleefully unaware of just how much people autobattle even in 3K since the campaign became more interesting than the battles themselves. And that's a game with not even a 100th of CK mechanics so I really expect them to either scale back to something less Paradox-y in later development or getting bit in the ass by the fact that they're making CK3 but smaller, shittier and with pretty battles that no one apart from the same 200 MP fags even play since they simply become a necessary chore on top of the management gameplay rather than the main point of the game/campaign as they should be by design in TW.

They couldn't find anyone at the studio that actually played videogames to check it out for quality control.
Did you know they hired some youtuber to take all the screenshots and videos for the store page? You can even see his name in the custom battle setup screen.

There's an apocryphal quote of charlemagne's that goes "If people knew by what idiots they were ruled they would rise up in revolt" and my experiences with bureaucracies that aren't involved in
    >If we fuck up we will be sued/arrested
is that we overestimate by far the competency or professionalism of a lot of places. Or that for some of these devs it's not a passion project but just a job to do.

I mean the Chinese got 'humiliated' during the 3 kingdoms period too by the division and fratricide. The key, unless I am misunderstanding the chink, is to make sure you have a faction/character that can be presented as the heroic savior. I have no experience with the period but I expect there'd be some tragic Ming figure you could run with and allow Chinamen to go "How it should have been"

Otherwise fuck em just rely on the Western audience interested in playing as colonizers or Samurai.

The guy apparently declined a well paying sponsorship to make "how to play shogun" videos for the new version because he thought it was so shit.

I love how even something like letting fans make promotional footage for them has to be some cloak and dagger shit. Easily could have had a community event and gotten people involved yet turned it into a way to do bare minimum effort and hide the lack of effort as long as they could. CA really is a company of Machiavellian retards.

    Bitch eating crackers syndrome
It is pretty sad though. In any other context it would have been
    >look famous guy is involved with the game, I'm sure this means he was brought in to consult what is the most important for the community and they are taking the remaster seriously
When the reality is that CA gave so little shit they couldn't even be bothered to play the game enough for one trailer worth of footage so they paid an outsider to do it. Who after noticing they left in his name in the final cut basically came out of retirement just to denounce it and that he did it only for the paycheck.
    This is so pathetic.

    >>

S1 and M1 work fine on Windows 10, though apparently a recent patch makes M1 crash after a few turns, but someone on the steam forum posted a fix I think.
Personally I think S1 and M1 are better than their sequels but no amount of explaining ever convinces people who only play 15 minutes and quit because they refuse to rebind keys or look in the options menu. You need to actually complete a full campaign to get it. I'd also strongly recommend reading the old Yuku guides; early TW games had real wargame design and things like terrain, fatigue and weather matter a LOT more than in later games.
    >>
    >>2505385
I like MTW2 more than MTW1 overall, but something that was lost along the way was MTW's discrete provinces map, vs running around on 2's grid. It made maneuvering a bit more strategic and thoughtful and made chokepoints matter more, imo.

Total War chose spectacle at the cost of tactical depth after Rome 1, and the franchise has been steering farther away from its roots since it dropped the risk style map and went full 3D if we look deep enough, but it only truly became unsalvageable with Rome 2.

Mid 1500's is far enough along that the Ming weren't in a death spiral yet. Korea was just one of three concurrent wars they were fighting at the time (they were doing the heavy lifting, the Koreans had been terribly reduced and were only guerillas and Yi Sun-sin)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordos_campaign_(1592)
This being a total war game, there's no inevitability and the factions sandbox from their starting positions, so anything's possible. Leave it to the player to needlessly overtax every single province and reduce the loyalty of every single general all at once as the Manchus invade

    >Morale is more fragile so unit encounters aren't simple stat checks, beating a stronger unit with weaker units is possible
    >Flanking actually matters, especially on higher difficulties
    >The game is much faster and lethal, as recruiting new units takes time and replenishing isn't automatic, so the risk of taking unnecessary losses is real and encourages tactical thinking
    >Few RPG-lite mechanics so the focus is on battles rather than campaign-side number crunching

Compare it to something like Troy, 3K or R2; a big problem in the newer games is in the changes to morale and unit stats and the widespread consequences of that—you can flank a unit multiple times and it won't rout. Shit, a lot of units are outright resistant or immune to flanking, so a unit's ability to get high kill counts is more important than the player's active input and tactical decision-making. The result is that campaign-side optimization through RPG-lite mechanics is the meta, doomstacks that basically play themselves are a widespread problem and even autoresolve becomes more insidious.

    >>2505576
It nails the atmosphere but it still has a lot of the same problems Rome 2 did.

While this interpretation of the map is thematically cool it also shows what's wrong with the current modding scene
In another video for the main M3 mod he shows how you start with only your own faction's regions visible with everything else covered by the fog of war. Exchanging map information with other factions (HRE in the video) reveals their areas but in the tapestry style of the map in that picture.
For a mod that pretends to be historically accurate it strikes me as stupid to imply the nobility of larger kingdoms such as France somehow wouldn't even know what the world beyond their borders looks like (since the entire world is covered by the black FoW). Furthermore the tapestry map also doesn't show who owns the various settlements which defeats the gameplay purpose of exchanging map information with the other factions in the first place.

It's a spectacle with zero thoughts put behind it that tries to feign depth by having a million of contrived status effects and dropdown menus that do nothing but add flavour text. A mod made by and for people who don't understand the game they're playing in the first place.

Tsardoms seems to fixate incredibly heavily towards certain things and away from others. They knew the CAI in the last version of Fall was broken but left it like that for 2 years instead of releasing a hotfix. Even the historical aspects aren't exempt, some entire faction rosters are incredibly low effort

I want to strangle whomever decided that missile units shouldn't have guard mode toggled on by default in R2TW.
    >>
    >>2514041
Did you know that Rome 2 launched without a guard mode at all? Attila doesn't have it either, but when that game didn't perform as CA had hoped and they ended up crawling back to R2 they eventually added guard mode to it in one of the DLC updates
Some times their decision making is downright bizarre
