When will atlus move on from this system? It was a good combat system but they more or less have exhausted everything they could from it by SMTV.
>>4144622>prescriptive battle system>goodIt's amazing how much of JRPG discourse is just JRPG "fans" genuinely having no clue what they're talking about.
>>4144626I'd appreciate it if you could elaborate instead of making shitposty one line posts.
>>4144622Just finished SMTV as my first SMT game, and this system is so lame. If you walk in with a random party you'll be destroyed, but if you build around the elemental weaknesses the boss barely gets to act and you steamroll with no tactics or strategy.Though in the second half of the game you can build a permanent party of debuffer (basically anyone with debilitate and support potential), healer+buffer (basically, Sakuya), and 2 physical/almighty attackers (Yoshitsune, Agrat, Artemis, Murakumo MC etc) and steamroll anyway because crits give press turns just the same, breaking the entire design philosophy of the game.
>>4144677> if you build around the elemental weaknesses the boss barely gets to act and you steamroll with no tactics or strategy.Wow it's almost as if this is the backbone of SMT or something.
>>4144677Play IV, it's much better.
>>4144677Try Soul Hackers or Strange Journey.
