    Baldur's Gate 2 x Baldur's Gate 3 male companions

    What the fuck?????

    >Physically strong and intimidating men wearing heavy armour ready to charge in and smite evil.
    >Underweight fancy boyz wearing little to no armour and playing defense.

    >What the fuck?
It's a narrative shift reflective of the progressiveness of the setting. The scary thing is it's historically accurate:
In a male dominated society trad-men are more concerned with getting shit done, it may ruffle feathers but they establish law and order and they don't negotiate with terrorists.
Once society stabilizes and progress towards something more egalitarian pog-men (and women) shift the dynamic towards favoritism, "peace" and negotiation, they're more concerned with appearances both physical and social and would rather hear the the terrorists out because it presents a better face for society. The problem with this is it emboldens evil and you'll eventually need a trad-man to set things back on the path to peace. Shits circular.

To put this is a real-world dynamic: You had Russia and the US (both traditionally trad) in a stale mate with each other, then as the US grew more prog it embolden Russia to the point where it felt confident enough to invade Ukraine. Now prog countries are in a panic trying to rally their shit to push Russia back but they have no trad to lead them so they sit on the fence. Trump likes to boast that if he was in power Putin never would of invaded, the sad thing is he's right, he was Trad enough to keep Russia in check but it saw weakness when Biden/Democrats got in and took the opportunity to invade. By being liberal and voting for Biden people (unknowingly) voted for the deaths of millions of Ukrainians, you can't blame these people though, global politics is far more complicated and not as mutable as gender dynamics.

    Today I will remind them
    >Baldur's Gate 1 has 25 companions (15 men, 10 women) with a mean STR of 13.35 (sigma 3.25) and a mean INT of 13.32 (sigma 3.15).
    >There are 10 outliers for high STR, 80% male. There are 10 outliers for high INT, 50% male. There are 9 outliers for low strength, 33% male. There are 10 outliers for low INT, 70% male.
    >Baldur's Gate 2 has 16 companions (10 men, 6 women) with a mean STR of 14.33 (sigma 3.56) and a mean INT of 13.25 (sigma 3.07).
    >There are 7 outliers for high STR, 100% male. There are 7 outliers for high INT, 43% male. There are 5 outliers for low STR, 40% male. There are 5 outliers for low INT, 60% male.
    >Baldur's Gate 3 has 10 companions (5 men, 5 women) with a mean STR of 12 (sigma 3.63) and a mean INT of 10.3 (sigma 2.93).
    >There are 3 outliers for high STR, 0% male. There are 3 outliers for high INT, 100% male. There are 3 outliers for low STR, 100% male. There are 5 outliers for low INT, 40% male.

Western gaming industry was infiltrated by tumblr and fanfiction.net writers. One of the BG3 writers was hired because they were a fanfic author.

There were better narratives, even if simpler. Look how they turned the emperor obviously the adversary, the legendary leader of the mindflayers into whatever he is now, a mirror for player decisions. Not to mention all the cut quest lines from Raphael, asmodeus, the inner gith conflict, shar selune aso. Larian folded under their own stupidity and cut the game to death, heck, act3 with avernus where bigger than act 1 and 2 combined. Same story with dos 2, that initially had 12 acts. You can also check the unpublished music in both games, like 40% of the music isn't even published, lol.
If there were great moders, they would restore avrrnus, upper city and introduce the old plot where nightsong is an enemy and daisy ofc.
    >>
    >>4144653
    >Larian folded under their own stupidity
No, they had to obey WotC after the internal purge had changed all the people involved with BG3 on the IP holder side.
    >>
    >>4144657
Wotc had no say in dos2 and it's known they recasted vas roughly one year before release, this and other things indicate a hasty rewrite, which suggests larian lied about the upper city. They are a bunch of liars, if you followed ea. Like how they promised good origins. Idk if you mod, but their code is spaghetti napoli. The resting mechanic is lunacy, no wonder all mods use potions to rest or whatever stupid workaround.

    >>4143567
Larian essentially builds simulators of high-stakes gambling and problem-solving. You are constantly pulling the lever to see how the world reacts to your insane ideas. When it works, it's a massive rush—but the friction, the bugs, and the sheer mental exhaustion required to get there are the steep price you pay.

    >suggests larian lied about the upper city
They absolutely lied, which destroyed any respect I had for them. If they were honest and said “yea sorry guys, we ran out of time/money/wanted to beat another game to market and so we had to cut a lot of stuff we had planned, we can try to add some of it back in with patches” it would be understandable. Almost every big RPG has cut content, it happens.
    Instead, they went
    >umm sweety we never cut anything that’s just a conspiracy theory, we delivered exactly the game we always intended. but also if we did cut anything it was only due to our extremely high quality standards out of respect for you, our players :)
Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining you Belgian faggots.

    >Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining you Belgian faggots.
Their leaders are all scrubs from day one, meaning they became leader by chance and not by skill or talent. Larian doesn't even make rp, rather addicting feedback loops fueled by dopamine clutter.
    >chud, we only cut the true soul - mindflayer - daisy arc bc the npc would run away screaming from the protag
That came to your mind like 5 years after development started? Ever heard of psionics? Any mindflayer can make himself look like any race, heck any wizard can, if he wishes to.
    >dlc
    >It didn't feel right.
    Larian isn't ashamed of lying

    >initial story
I scoured the dead ends in the tool kit and must say chublot isn't that thorough. It's pretty clear that the emperor, the legendary adversary initially played the inner gith conflict, the brain, the dead three, shar and selune and ultimately the gods, but larian wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't handle the permutation explosion, hence they cut like 80% of the story. That's the reason they pushed minsc and jaheira forward, to reduce complexity, but they realized too late they couldn't handle it. They are awful silent regarding their space game, sounds like cancel to me.

    >one of the dumbest and most historically illiterate things I've ever read
Far from it, history shows that democracies can shift toward authoritarianism during crises, and that some countries later democratize again. e.g. Argentina and Chile.

If you think the idea is stupid and historically illiterate you need to go back to school and study some history.

It's a psychological thing. Those barbie dress ups don't play bg3, but they relive the polished ea part of act 1 for like 1400h. It's basically like in the movie cell with jlo. They want to play god of a dead world. Replaying that part gives those tiny beings sense of security and power. Larian knows that and front loads their games for thst reason. Larian doesn't make games, they are from the gambling sector, they make addictive feedback loops, those aren't games.

what is the addictive feedback loop?
