Why would they subvert it by making you watch a hot woman with another man while that world and it's charcters should please the player. Same goes for making the player watch the girl he won in one playthrough being claimed by a different guy in another.

It's a perfectly natural response to want to form a relationship as a result of a intense experience, especially a prolonged one, and we're not particularly picky about who that person is.
