    >YOU DONT GET IT BRO IT'S A COMPLEX ROLEPLAYING SIMULATION
    >99% of the gameplay is just quicksave and reloading
    >you can rest for 20 hours in a building that's literally on fire in Kenabres because that just somehow makes sense
    >finally start to have some fun leading a campaign against the demons in Gray Garrison
    >you can also rest again for 50+ hours while your so called allies from the defender of heart said this would take an hour?
    >sorry bro here's your crusade management
what the fuck? Is Roguetrader this bullshit too or did they fix some of this in that?

Not an RPG. Also, the Warhammer franchise is full of trannies.

    experience high quality entertainment
    >>
Nah 99% of the gameplay is actually buffing your party and keeping up the buffs so they can a-move over the enemies. As long as you build your party right with the most overpowered combination everything just explodes to mush and the combat is almost completely non-interactive, trying to micro shit will probably just make things worse for you
    >>
    >>4136797
OP reloads everytime a party member gets hurt and complains that he's not having fun
    >>
I think Rogue Trader is better in a lot of ways, but I really hate the actual character creation/building in it.
    >>
    >>4136891
I literally have to reload or I'm paying 6000 to that guy to resurrect my person because he got hurt TOO hard in the battle and his constitution is -69/67 or something idfk
    >>
    >>4136895
Leveling takes goddamn forever and the bonuses are so particular that I don't even know how I'm to strategize at level up. Whether it'll be useful to have 3
5 more momentum gain when I'm within 3 squares of a friendly naval officer is a mystery in the moment. Sure, I'll take that one I guess.
    >>
    >>4136909
Planning out levels is just a pain in the ass because it basically requires a shit ton of reading ahead about mechanics that might not mean anything to you yet. I can work with that for a system that's basically just DnD because I've played that shit for decades, but when it's an original system that basically only uses a few names from Dark Heresy/Rogue trader talents that's a lot of forethought going in blind.
I just looked up random builds for characters I didn't like much on first impression because it seemed like too much of an ordeal to bother with.
As dumb as it is I wonder how much of it would be fixed in my head if it used a normal table layout instead of that wheel thing

    >you can rest for 20 hours

and who is forcing you to do all this?
its just not that kind of game ok, the game has its time sensitive quests also

Sounds like you suck, are under-leveled, or some combination of the two.
    >>
    >>4136828
First playthrough blind I had a custom party of 6 and played above core. 5 out of 6 characters usually did 0 damage, the kinetic knight basically solod the game, the others were just with him.
    >>
    >>4136895
I like rogue trader better in almost every way except that the way the core combat devolves into CCG combos that wipe the enemy out in 10% of your first turn is even worse in RT than WotR.

I gotta say I was impressed with RT's naval combat being actually kind of fun. It eventually gets too power crept but the Heroes of Might and Magic combat in WotR is horribly unfun immediately and never improves.
    >>
    >>4138955
I pretty much agree. WotR is just pathfinder, so even when they add all their OC mythic bullshit on top of it, all the game really is will be getting as many immunities to status effects you can and hitting really hard on turn one.
Like you said, rogue trader is more about finding annoying synergies and exploiting extra turns to just kill everyone in turn one like you're playing fucking YuGiOh or something.
What Rogue Trader doesn't have is those annoying punishing mechanics and the forced minigames aren't as bad as in Wrath or Kingmaker
    >>
    >>4136769
all this could be avoided if every copy of wotr comes with the player's handbook
    >>
    >>4139448
The player's handbook wont tell you that the game is won through pre-buffing to make all the shit that makes the game tedious not work on you. You have to figure that out on your own
    >>
Is WOTR actually any good in terms of story, characters, lore, worldbuilding etc?
    >>
    >>4139822
Yes. It's probably the most epic campaign ever made.
    >>
    >>4139824

    >>
    >>4139827

    >>
    >>4139824
    >Yes. It's probably the most epic campaign ever made.
In a strictly literal interpretation of this claim, without passing value judgement, it’s got to be in the top three.
    >>
WOTR doing the Lord's work filtering the fuck out of normalfags and casuals.
    >>
    >>4139822
Not really. It's best qualities are just being really fucking long if you enjoy DnD stuff and just want it to keep going, and it really lets you feel like an absurdly strong character
    >>
    >>4139979

Well let me ask this (sameposter), does the rhythm of the story work at least? Like, is there good foreshadowing and stuff like that ahead of time, or is it like a JRPG where the villains at the beginning of the game are dealt with and then a new, almost completely unrelated villain is introduced and lather, rinse, repeat?

Like is it a series of disjointed dungeon crawls like most DND campaigns, or is it a coherent thread which takes you more or less logically from beginning to end in a fairly logical progression a la Lord of the Rings?
    >>
    >>4140637
It is narrative driven. The big bad from the intro cutscene is an optional superboss and the main story boss is introduced very early on.
    >>
    >>4140648

Thanks bro/sis...I think I'll give it 10 hours...it'll either get me or it won't
    >>
    >>4136828
    >Nah 99% of the gameplay is actually buffing your party and keeping up the buffs so they can a-move over the enemies.
Well, imagine it is real. No save/load, no second tries. You would be completely anal about having all the possible buffs you can before going into the crazy sorts of action WotR has. Because you know you need every help and death is step away from you 24/7.

You would also carry bags of cookies of course.
    >>
    >>4140654
Peak of the game is acts 2/3 (out of 5)
    >>
    >>4140673
I'd also bring about 30-40 creeping doom swarms.
    >>
    >>4140673
After enough progress you should be able to basically just buff up once per map, but it's still pretty tedious. It's tempting to just always do an angel/oracle run since it cuts down the list of spells you need for that so significantly
    >>
Download "bubble buffs". It is perfectly integrated with the UI and feels like a core part of the game. Never worry about buff application ever again.
    >>
    >>4136769
this game bored the shit out of me but i liked rogue trader a lot. it's still an owlcat game so a lot of the same flaws exist

    >99% of the gameplay is just quicksave and reloading
    Retard

    >you can rest for 20 hours in a building that's literally on fire in Kenabres because that just somehow makes sense
    >you can also rest again for 50+ hours while your so called allies from the defender of heart said this would take an hour?
Valid, resting has never translated well to video games and it's the main reason mana > spell slots

    >sorry bro here's your crusade management
Crusades were pretty poorly implemented, they could've been a lot better if forts had more strategic involvement and if the paths in the western region weren't a fucking maze that takes 3 days to reach somewhere in the same region, you should just download the toybox mod and increase daily travel distance for armies

You're ignoring some other issues with the game. Most of the companions are boring and gay (just like every CRPG). Inventory management sucks. Weapon proficiencies should be consolidated. A god awful prologue where you're introduced to your first friends, a boring marvelquipping mongel, a black paladin and a woman & her half-orc girlfriend. The game really does peak at act 2 and 3.
