    >Dynasty Warriors
    They are RPGs now?
    >>
    >>4131424
I mean, it's depends on how strict your idea of what real rpg is like. This game has things to grind for, as well as equipment,(which you also level up, in case of a weapons, or just trying to grind a higher leveled version, if it's about items) so it should probably at least pass as action rpg.
Not like there is a better place to discuss this series anyway. The discussion around it is too dead for /v/ and /vg/, It doesn't have proper multiplayer for /vm/, and don't really have much strategy going in for it, since the only character besides you that you have a minimum control over: is your 8(at max) bodyguards, and even then it's the barest of the minimum of which commands you allowed to give them, so /vst/ is also out.
    >>
Not an RPG, and definitely not a live series. Most recent entry is a remake of a 25 year old game?
Hyrule Warriors basically killed this shit by showing what the series could be if they actually gave a shit and tried. Sorry, but now you need to put that much effort into every release or I'm not interested.

    >Not an RPG
    Why not
    >and definitely not a live series
True, all worth-playing entries came out during ps 2/ps 3 era, doesn't mean it isn't worth discussing though.
    >Hyrule Warriors basically killed this shit
I'm not a nintendofag so i didn't play it, what was soo special about it?

I don't really give a shit about Zelda either, I've only played Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina, and Breath of the Wild, but it is great. Absolutely enormous number of characters, and importantly, it has an absolutely insane amount of content. It has these maps (multiple) that you need to unlock challenge stages and secrets in. It is the only time I've ever seen a Mosou game have a functional and fun alternate campaign mode.

you can itemise diao chans like meat buns in the inventory?!?
    >>
    >>4139611
Not really, no. The special "xtreme mode", that devs for some reason completely leave out after first few games it's appeared in,(4 and 5 dw) despite it's really fun roguelite mode that let you put another 100+ hours into the game if you're autistic enough, let you to have 3 officer characters in your party with you. You either can hire them in a shop or sometimes get as a reward from a sidequest.
    >>
    >>4139655
ok then. why is the ho cheaper than a meat bun?
    >>
    >>4139664
To prevent you from completing missions for forever without losing mostly, the price for both buns and ointments keep increasing as you buy them, making you to avoid doing unnecessary purchases of healing items unless you're actually low on health.
    >>
...Although, default price for the meat bun is like 600, so this bitch(and also other officers, since they mostly cost the same +100-200 gold) do really cost like a 1 meat bun basically.

    >DW3 remaster
I still like the original more, but I appreciate how people started modding that shit to hell and back as soon it came out. It's definitely fun to mess around with it.
    >>

    >original
How do you even supposed to enjoy it? I can't figure out at all how to keep my bodyguards from dying all the time and to actually start leveling them up. Also, even on lowest difficulty everyone still feel like damage sponge and end up getting too busted in the later stages, even if you try to get all the stat items from captains and officers. Retrying it after 4 only make it harder to enjoy it.

    > for some reason completely leave out after first few games
Classic Mosou design. Randomly cut good ideas from subsequent games so the series never progresses and people can look back at the second entry as legitimately the high point.
    >>
    >>4140494
Bodyguards are useless if not levelled up with enough defense to survive, a good way to do it is to set them to Shield so they get a def boost and will be only blocking, unless they have bow/crossbow equipped.
Keep tiger amulet equipped for yourself, and make sure you are defeating subofficers and officers to get as many upgrades as possible. Bronze flask is also situationally useful if you are using a character who relies mainly on charge attacks, and unlike tiger amulet it won't give enemies more defense.
    >>
So does 3make play like 3 or like Origins? Remember seeing stuff early on where it looked like a 3 skin for Origins and I was not a fan of that.
    >>
    >>4140511
It plays like a newer musou game but with some origins features(if you turn them on), the older movesets that don't have anything too flashy, and more aggressive peons.
Doesn't really feel like the original, but at least you are in for an actual fight.
    >>
    >>4140514
Shame. Thanks anon. I'll still probably check it out, just less excited.
    >>
I'm currently keep trying to progress in DW 3, and let me tell you: if not for characters all being unlocked from the beginning in xtreme version of this game i have no idea how do i supposed to do this. This entry is too bullshit to do it without abusing Lu Bu powers.
    >>
    >>4141052
Dynasty Warriors 3 kind of requires grinding in free mode. Not strictly, but the tedium of trying to play through without farming attack ups is rather unreasonable.
    >>
    >>4133090
    >what was soo special about it?
It was basically an inter-Zelda crossover and they blended the musou elements well with the Zelda exploration elements. A huge amount of movesets and fanservice even if you're not a Zelda diehard.

    >>4138780
I don't disagree with you but it's a bit unfair to compare Hyrule Warriors with the rest of the musou games because it had years of DLC to get to where the final product is now
