is dragons dogma 2 good now or is it still boring as fuck
    >>
If you liked the original and have a rig powerful enough to deal with crapcom PC ports, you probably will like it no matter what. I dunno what the hate about this game is all about, the original game was rather niche also back in the day. I do recommend the mod that tones down the blatant faggotry, though.
    >>
    >>4125777
I am waiting for them to remove Denuvo before I buy it.
    >>
    >>4125792
From word going around, sounds like it was removed a month or two ago.
    I still doubt it's worth the $40 base game + $30 DLC.
    >>
    >>4125835
It's discounted if you never bought the original, humorously enough. 50 for both. That was similar to the OG DD pricing scheme, though.
    >>
    >>4125835
I’ll go take another look. I check Steam every time it’s on sale.
    >>
I'd like it more if it didn't feel like I was being DEI'd to death every time I booted it up.
    >Psuedo-European fantasy, but black people everywhere
    >All male pawns have female names

Also, it seems like so much of what made the original DD special is watered-down, or not present.
    >Fewer weapons per category
    >Fewer armor slots, therefore fewer items and chances to combine looks
    >Combat is smoother, but slower paced overall
    >Removed my favorite Vocation, replaced it by polearm wielder

I don't dislike it really, but it's very uninspired.
    >>
    >>4125835
Hey, looks like you're right. I no longer see Denuvo listed on Steam.
I'll be buying it as soon as it goes on sale again.
Stupid faggots at Capcom, I've been waiting years now.
    >>
    >>4125738
Nobody talks about any of the new enemies so I assume there are very few.
    >>
    >>4125738
It's a sidegrade to the first game. Some parts are better, some parts are worse and depending on which aspects of the game you care about you might like it more or less.
Speaking the base game, still need to get a new character ready for the DLC.

    >Exploration
The world is much more detailed with many branching parts and hidden areas. You pick some small crack in the wall and it takes you to up a winding path to suddenly go above the mountain you wanted to circle. They take a simple road to a checkpoint you can see and make it about 3x longer by snaking through ruins or a canyon filled with encounters.
Buuut the rewards are kinda boring because so much loot just sits in shops. Did a 3 hour tour yesterday to unlock some endgame stuff and I found 1x item and about 5 chests that just gave gold. Enemy variety could also be better.

    >Story & Characters
People complained about not understanding what's going on and by god they fixed that. Many NPCs are just straight up expedition machines. If you just want to know what you should kill you'll be happy. But they just don't have the personality of anyone in the first game. Add to that that the cinematic scenes and setpieces are missing and it's a very flat experience.

    >Combat
Much like the first game, but everything has more nuances. E.g. the environment more of a tool with throwable stuff, breakable pillars or flash floods you can trigger. The vocations feel more distinct and better than the first game, but it can suck that your favorite class isn't back. They took a little bit from the MMO, but not the cool new classes.

The biggest flaw is that they're not using guitars in the OST anymore.
    >>
    >>4126272
Blemmyae is the only brand new enemy.
Goat demons and Evil Eye are both brand new to DD2 but were in DD1 and DDON respectively.
Most other enemies are reskins of Cyclops, Wight, Drake or Griffin. One that stands out as being a bit more but uses the same Griffin skeleton is Gagana.
The rest is filled with the usual Bandit, Goblin, Saurian, Wolf, Harpy variants.
    >>
    >>4125792
    Just pirate it you tool
    >>
    >>4126304
    ty for non cancerous response

ill prob give it a try, vocations look visually stunning so im interested already.
    >>
Why would it change from boring to good? Did they delete it and remake anew? Did they even patch it?
    >>
    >>4126495
    >Just pirate it you tool
No. Every thread we’ve had on this game, I said that I was waiting for Denuvo to be removed before buying it, and shut-in losers cried, “Anon, you only want Denuvo removed so that you can pirate it!” I am a man of principle.
    >>
    >>4126582
Kek. I mostly do the same but I always pirate the crack + backup my steam files. I don't really trust cloud bullshit.
    >>
    >>4126304
I don't agree. DD2 is a strict upgrade from the first game. In every way. The first game was fun. But it was incomplete and tiny.
DD2 is not incomplete. The map is huge and absolutely jam packed with stuff to find. There are no empty areas. The plot is much more fully fleshed with dialogue and supporting content so you're never left wondering what the fuck is happening or why. The combat mechanics are even more fluid and instinctual, less clunky feeling but basically the same design concept. The graphics are more advanced, costume design is gorgeous, voice acting in English is fantastic.
There is no aspect in which DD2 is not just flat out superior to the first game.
    >>
    >>4126453
There weren't any goat demons in the first game and Evil Eye first appeared in DD1 not DDO
    >>
    >>4127114
    >There is no aspect in which DD2 is not just flat out superior to the first game.
    1. Does DD2 have a bust slider in pawn creation?
    2. How many non-White NPCs are in DD2? Provide a specific numerical answer.
    >>
    >>4127226
So you're going to pretend a large chunk of the DD1 NPC list isn't some vague sort of brown then, that it chief?
    >>
    >>4127228
I don't need to pretend anything. I'll simply let your refusal to answer two direct questions stand.
    >>
    >>4127233
Because they're stupid fucking questions, and made in bad faith.
At least the first can pass for a normal one (albeit one you could've gotten an answer to with a simple search), but for the second you specifically ensured to make a ridiculous demand no one in their right mind would ever fulfill for ANY game, for ANY reason.
And, again, while you could at least pretend the answer to your first question is a point in favor for the first game, the latter seems to imply quite a bit about the first game's NPC population that simply isn't true.

Evil Eye and Goat demons are both brand new to DD2 but were in DD1 and DDON respectively*

    Does this clear it up?
    >>
    >>4125738
If you liked it before, you'll like it even more now. If you didn't like it before, you won't like it now either.
Norgan is a lot more densely packed with dungeons and such than the base game, but it doesn't really change anything about the overall experience.
Though if your main gripe was the performance, that's been improved significantly. Not by the DLC, but by the patches it's had since release.
    >>
    >>4127114
    >DD2 is a strict upgrade from the first game.
I'd say it's an upgrade in MOST ways, not all. DD2 is worse when it comes to itemization and rewarding exploration. There's virtually nothing unique to find in the world, at least in terms of equipment, until you reach the Unmoored World postgame. And the DLC, while it does offer slightly more interesting gear, adopt's the first DDDA's shitty RNG grinding bullshit for itemization.
    >>
    >>4127269
DD1: uhh… Mason… Mercedes? Two, off the top of my head?
    DD2: *squirming deflection*

Those are foreigners as well, they are intended to stand out.

Like the only other "brown people" I remember are the tanned fisherman, maybe some of them look vaguely asian?

Im using a 1080ti and if runs fine lol. I loved dd2, this dlc will be fun.

I can tolerate some liberal poop in the soup if the game is good but all your second paragraph concerns are abolutely legit.
Dark Arisen is in my backlog, I never would have dreamed this was possible that I would not insta play it but Capcom can fuck up a wet dream like any mid modern dev. They're just not what they used to be.

Here she is with some light modification (I felt like the black tats were better in the end) for size comparison along with other talented gobbo artists from here.

I should pull out DA2 and update her for it but I am afraid I'll be disappointed too much lol.
    >>
    >>4127269
Opposing wokeshit (aka liberal pollitical concerns shoved into every corner of games) is the exact opposite of the bad faith liberals/hr departments foists off into game dev. So every gamer is allowed to have an opposing political opinion by right, because if a game is going to preach politics by text or subtext, why shouldn't we be able to discuss the content of said game?

That said, DD2 wasn't that bad about it in fact but yes they did nuke height and bust sliders because the fats and gays in america might scream about pedos at Capcom and J-Devs don't always ignore that like they should.

I hope this settles your bad faith posting made in defense of your cult that typically ignores the facts on the ground.
    >>
    >>4131304
You want height and bust sliders because you made lolis
I want height and bust sliders because I made amazons with big tits

    >Removed my favorite Vocation, replaced it by polearm wielder
this one is tough for me. I love the idea and aesthetics of mystic knight (mace + big shield is kino) but the actual gameplan for MK was lame. spearhand is way less cool aesthetically but the gameplay is far more interactive and fun.

    >>4125738
They really need to pick a lane and decide if this is actually an rpg or just open world medieval dmc. I am fine with either but im getting extremely tired of shallow psuedo-rpg elements in games that exist just to pad time and release dopamine with number go up. Good game otherwise though
    >>
    >>4132040
It's an action game with rpg elements
    >>
    >>4132040
It's kind of obvious from the first one. Sucks that they cut back on the amount of dress up you can do though.

Is it worth doing a NG+ of DD1 first?
    >>
    >>4136517
In terms of lore or mechanics, no. Nothing you do in DD1 has any relation to DD2 and in terms of story and lore, DD2 is less of a proper sequel and more of a soft reboot with occasional hints at being a sequel.

In terms of having fun, that's up to you. DD1 holds up quite well for the most part.

While I can't speak for Dragon's Dogma 2 as I haven't played it, I did notice that people here (and in a few other websites) tend to have this thing where, if a publisher fumbles the bag with the release because micro-transactions, a considerable high price and/or optimization, they will build arguments backwards from the conclusion to justify their hatred. And usually when you ask them what games they think are great, they'll probably mention the shit that it is safest to call "objectively good" based on what retarded video-essayist on YouTube praise.
I've already seen cases where people shitting on games that are actually unique and/or challenging for asking the player to learn things other than when to press a button at the right millisecond, all while they praise "hardcore" developer for doing the bare minimum for their experiences not to be absolute shit.
