What are the best and most mandatory mods for the first game? I want it to look great and have a good time.
But the more I do research about the mods, the more I'm concerned about stability and conflicts between them.
So many comments scare me away saying this or that don't work etc. Game crashes too often etc.

    Any help?

    Blood & Wine > 2 >Heart of Stone > 1 > 3

Fags who hate 2 never learned positioning for backstabs OR understood that Vigor affects sword damage. At full Vigor, you deal 100% damage with swords. At no Vigor, you deal 50% damage with swords. Witcher 2's combat punished sign- and dodge-spamming with Vigor. That meant players needed to fight intelligently, rely heavily on oils, potions, and bombs, and actually prepare and play like a Witcher. Too many retards just didn't have the brains to play 2 competently, which is why we have the dogshit combat in 3.

Let me be clear: If you hate Witcher 2's combat, then you're directly responsible for how shit 3's combat is.

    3 is the best.
2 is meh, it has good story but the gameplay is very clunky.
1 is unplayable, i dropped it after 10 hours and went to youtube to watch the story.

1 has this boring combat where you just click the mouse when you see the mouse icon on the screen turn red, its really shitty and cheap.
It also looks the ugliest, its so ugly and hideous. But i like the soundtrack in 1, especially the menu theme.
2 has this clunky souls wannabe combat, the enemies are boring and poorly designed, the kraken for example is a boring fight that doesn't feel satisfying. 2 improves the minigames and tries to add better side quests but they still feel mediocre.
however the best thing about 2 is that its divided into regions instead of open world, but the regions are not well designed sadly. they are filled with nothingness.

3 is the best, easily the best combat and presentation in the whole series, the side quests at their bests, the main story is meh but the expansions make up for it by having good main quests.
3 is a huge improvement over 1 and 2, but even 3 has room for improvement, sadly the devs are still insisting on open world games and cinematics.

    >>
    >>4093072
witcher 1 is my favorite, swamp is completely streamlined in my playthroughs, no pointless wandering around, even then it's still annoying.
but the swamp in w2 is worse and w3 doesn't have any sections that are overtly bad like it, but it's also 60 hours longer so w1 remains my favorite. if w3 was the size of blood and wine and had the sovl of hearts of stone throughout the whole game, it would be beat w1 for me, but alas, there's too many openworldisms and it's too bloated.

Played them all and 1 is the only game I've enjoyed fully. 2 is neat.
I think they definitely improve throughout the trilogy on certain aspects. They feel like bigger more complete games, but its disproportionate. As the games got bigger, the combat never improved. I don't want to play a 100 hour rpg with braindead combat.

Witcher 3 is now older than Witcher 1 was when Witcher 3 came out. You’re just a baby who “can’t play old games because they’re too clunky”
For the record, I have not weighed in on 1 vs 3, simply taken the position that 2 is not the best one.

Playing The Witcher 1 right now for the first time. I've recently just finished the book series, and I had only played 3 and was my intro to the franchise.
Planning on doing the entire series, and DLCs since I never played them.

So far I just started Chapter 2. It's kinda ehhhh. Combat I enjoyed at the beginning but now the endless spawning and tracking of enemies just makes it irritating. Inventory system is retarded too.

My biggest complaints so far, barring combat: Too much back-tracking, and I hate sometimes you leave dialouge for no reason after clicking a "non-ending" option.

Also, are the sidequests worth it? So far its just fluff for money and XP I dont really need.

as video games I feel like TW1 is the only one that wasn't too much on the hand-holding side of things so I think TW1 is the best (or rather the least bad) but tw2 sucks dicks and TW3 has higher production value and nice OST and some good stories so
    1>3>2
    >>
TW2 has sex with Ves so there is a point for it, but none with Saskia so that is a point against it. TW3 cut out best boy Iorveth so that is a point against it. TW1 has neither Ves, Saskia, nor Iorveth.

Ves was the only character I (voluntarily) shagged in the entire series, simply because it seemed like a natural progression of Geralt's relationship with her.
Neither Yen nor Triss tempted me, because they were both fucking mad, in different ways.
I did screw Kiera Metz for plot purposes, but I still feel unclean to this day.
    >>
    >>4122293
    >>4122305
    >>4123248
In my single playthrough of 2 I went the Iorveth route because I was promised elf and succ sex. Don't know if it was the big brain move or not, since Roche's route only had Ves (maybe shouldn't say "only" since Ves is pure sexo but still).
    >>
Do I need to play 1 and 2 before 3?
    >>
    >>4124127
You could go in blind and play 3 and it would spoon feed you everything you need to know. It’s largely self-contained.
Playing 1 and 2 first would give you background info that is occasionally referred to. There’s also a handful of choices in 2 that can be imported that make minor changes to the game (like if a side character is alive or dead)
Reading the books before playing the games will obviously give more depth to the characters and let you understand little nods
    >>
    >>4124131
    Thanks anon.
    >There’s also a handful of choices in 2 that can be imported that make minor changes to the game
I've given up on that concept after Mass Effect

I played w2 near its release and it was incredibly impressive for the atmosphere, mature tone, great characters that werent what I had seen before.

w1 isnt better in any aspect, I like having the npcs look less like abstract placeholders
    >>
    >>4124127

Here is my retard take. I Think Witcher 3 is overall the better game. But Witcher 1 is the better "witcher" game. I only played it once so I might be bias, but I liked the aspect of having to research the plants and monsters and then collect them and then make potions before going for the kill. The third one is a more ambitious, less monster-hunting focused, more about saving the world, your daughter and choosing a wife. I also loved Gwent in witcher 3. What decks do you play? I played a Nilfgaardian spy deck. Did you guys enjoyed the dice game in witcher 1? I also liked playing that one.

W2 is one of the only fantasy/adventure-type games I've played where you're a small fish in a big pond. I really liked the fact that you're just an observer to a series of larger events rather than the main character on the world stage. Wish there were more games like that.

Don't skip 1, Geralt was kind of sassy in a lot of dialogue options and the NPCs were funny as well in a dark humor kind of way. That's what I probably liked the most about that + the unique dark ages atmosphere that seemed to be missing in 2 and 3.
