what are your thoughts on this thing?worth the preorder?https://plaionreplai.com/de/products/neogeo-aes-ultimate-edition
>>12904903I'm not going to pre-order based on their track record but I hope it's good.
>>12904905didn't they delivered on previous things though?
>>12904906No, not in the slightest, the X was a piece of shit.
>>12904909if you mean the ZD, yeah it had problems, but PLAION was the publishing/distribution partner, while Retro Games Ltd was the hardware specialist behind The Spectrum, would it be fair to attribute the engineering fuck ups to PLAION?
>>12904918No, idiot. He's talking about the NEO GEO X that was made like ten years ago. Had terrible build quality and just all around a bad product. So bad that SNK pulled the license from the chink company they partnered with for the product (said chink company then proceed to sue SNK for contract violation).
>>12904941hold on m8, PLAION wasn't involved on that, you are thinking about Tommo and Blaze
>>12904903Sick and Tired of them shoehorning the street fighter 3 wannabe everywhere when art of fighting 2 is right there .
>>12904903just use an emulator. shit is not worth the amount of money they charge for 30 year old games.
>almost $1000 for a fucking emulator and some romslmfao
>>12904903I'll enjoy the new roms when they get dumped.
>>12905621>>12905646if the point is to just play shit for free, then yeahbut this thing provides the actual experience of playing the games, since there's 0 bugs caused by emulation errors due to this thing working like the original hardware
>>12904903Ive had picrel on my vita for more than a decade and I think it was 10$ when I downloaded it
>>12904903I'm scared that it'll burst the retro bubble and make the prices of all the original stuff I own collapse just like all the other modern clones did
>>12904906Generally they eventually get released. Some of the Atari games were a few months late and the earlier 2600+ systems have an inferior interface board to the cart but they came clean that it was emulator from the start. The carts and controllers were pretty much exact replicas of the originals, way better than hyperkin crap.>>12904903You think, look up the selling prices or the controllers.>>12905621The whole reason people want it is because they played the games on emulators.>>12905646So people buy Chrono Trigger for $300 and then play it on a flash cart.
>>12904903>preorderthis still a viable scam? >1klmao
>>12904903If it lives up to what they're saying, it will be pretty rad.Not sure how many people can drop a full grand on it though, but if you're flush with disposable income it could be a cool collection. Especially if they keep the games coming. But yeah, the price point is pretty insane. The full year long extension to the wait shipment is also pretty insane.
>>12905806The AES has had an affordable official alternative in the form of MVS carts for quite a while now, but some AES carts have remained very expensive. I guess it could drive down prices of some games that get modern reprints, but overall I doubt the impact would be that huge. A lot of game collecting markets have become at least partially divorced from people who simply want to play the games, and involve people who absolutely want the real deal, either for showing off purposes or a true collector mindset, and a modern reprint wouldn't cut it for a lot of them. In fact there's probably some who would want both releases.
Imagine falling for this scam, lol. The dopey Saudi prince running this grift doesn't have any money any more.
>10x NEOGEO game cartridges (Metal Slug, The King of Fighters 2002, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Big Tournament Golf, Shock Troopers, Samurai Shodown V Special, Pulstar, Twinkle Star Sprites, Magician Lord, Over Top),Lol fuck noThere is no Last Blade 2, no Neo Turf Masters and Metal Slug XTrash from a trash company
>>12906387Yea it’s missing last blade For sure but they took some votes on a second wave of games pretty sure it or the original will be released. Also Turf Masters is Big Tournament Golf. Same game just a localization thing or something.
>>12906039Yea but you can also just reserve the anniversary edition which comes w a game and isn’t insanely priced or the even cheaper just base model and then get the games you want here and there. W a full year to go you could easily reserve a game and make small payments and have a couple paid off by the time it drops. Idk
