It would have been the greatest game on the NES.
>>12902863Hellraiser was kind of a niche film that got some attention and then immediately nosedived into Hollywood slop and then VOD purgatory. Not something I’d count on to drive a market for an NES game.
>>12902863it surprise me how long it took to have an hellraiser game, they could have made a cheap PS1 or PS2 survival horror or something.
>Hellraiser gamethose kids should count there blessings
>>12902863>We made the announcemnet before the game got even greenlightedfucking idiots, also how would color Dreams made this when they change to Wisdom Tree?
>>12903172Yeah, I'm sure Hellworld being shit would have tanked any chances this game had of catching on.
>>12902863Virtual Hell looked good too
>>12902863Was it going to be an adventure game?
>>12904876I'm assuming it would have been like a puzzle game, something with a formula that they can get 100 rooms out of, like SokobanI don't know why they'd need "faux 16-bit graphics" for something like this though
>>12904889>hellraiser game>the likes of SokobanWhy would you ever think they would do something like that? Also>i just noticed it was advertised as being on NintendoProbably would've been something far less graphically intensive and interesting as a 16 bit adventure game. Probably would've just been another failed 2D platformer.
>>12904894I didn't mean it'd be a clone of sokoban, just a puzzle game in that style.Because the add literally says "solve the puzzle", and puzzling loosely ties to figuring out how the box works in the movie being a puzzlePossibly the puzzles/rooms would use procgen because the ad says "over one million worlds"Also they published shit like Crystal Minesapparently they had licensed the Wolf3D engine but there is no way they'd have used on NES; and since that led to Noah's Ark 3D I'm not convinced there is a connection with this game
>>12904917>It was planned as an isometric or puzzle-exploration game where players navigated stone mazes, solved Lemarchand’s puzzle box, avoided the Cenobites, and trapped demons back inside the cube.>Color Dreams planned to run it on a custom "Super Cartridge" containing an extra Z80 processor and extra RAM to bypass NES hardware limitations. That's what Google told me. They had some art done and had only started programming it when they cancelled it over high cartridge prices.
>>12904993Halloween is a retarded IP anyway. Some autistic dude in a Shatner mask running around killing because he has a boner for his sister is just dumb.
>>12904993>Hellraiser vs HalloweenFucking stupid idea
I picture it as a 3D first person dungeon crawler with randomly generated layouts, with most hallways just looking like boring bricks with chains and maybe blood spatter. Have to find things to open new areas, fight enemies in turn based RPG combat (occasional Cenobytes and original monsters, but plenty of bats and giant spiders), some semblance of a story unfolds every few worlds via still image slideshow cutscenes, solve puzzles inspired by the Lament Configuration. Some "scary" pixel art images here and there to justify the Hellraiser name.At the end of the day it's Color Dreams. There's zero chance it would have been some revolutionary or particularly memorable thing, beyond dude NES Hellraiser game
>>12904996That was not the original premise of the series. He was originally intended to be pure evil.
