>Oh, that looks like a nice planet to land on>gets crushed by heavy gravity
1.08G is not very heavy
>>12900084>Gravity: 1.08GOdd, that doesn't seem so bad...>Predominant Surface: Not CertainGood job, you just attempted to land on a ball of gas with a superdense core. 1.08G is on the surface, it gets stronger the closer to the core you get dragged.
>>12900084Not a good example pic OP, you can plainly see the gravity, though I do appreciate a good Starflight thread
>>12900084>Not Certain>Not Certain>Not Certain>Not CertainTRAIN YOUR FUCKING SCIENCE CREWMAN!
>>12900087>>12900090the planet scan lies if your science officer is shit.
>>12900084>^fcrushed by heavy gravity
Why did Star Control survive to this day while Starflight died?
>>12901742Star Control revolved mostly around intergalactic politics, Starflight revolved mostly around managing your space crew like a rag-tag band of trekkie scavengers.
>>12900107>>12901742insane amounts of sovlwe're living in the future and all we get now is no man's slop and bethesda fps "rpg" in space
Get Mogged By Science Nigga
>>12901742SC2 is basically the same game but with much more polish, and more emphasis on the actually fun parts (combat and plot) instead of autistic mineral harvesting and pointless wandering about the galaxy.Combat is worth emphasizing. SC2 is a sequel to SC, which is not a Starflight clone and from which only the combat was kept. Melee still holds up as a standalone 2p game. It's almost like a proto-MOBA in how diverse the ships are. It's fun.Even the lander minigame is less autistic and more like an actual game.
Tell me more about this game.
Anyone else play Megatraveller 2? It was dead bossy
>>12903220It's a space scavenger sim where the meta plot gradually unfolds the more you explore.
>>12903454What's the best way to play it?
>>12903503Probably GOG, since it comes with all the extra stuff, and the Starflight codes, which they ask of you periodically as an early version of DRM.
>>12903046this. gravity mogs hard.
