Get ready for more CRT videos of beta builds that he still won't dump
I'm tired, boss
>>12900028Is that the asshole who bragged about having a Twelve Tales build?
>>12900057he's one of the co-founders of Rare, you dumb fuck
>>12900059>he's one of the co-founders of RareI know, you retard. He's still a faggot
>>12900028Dream N64 build
>>12900059>he's one of the co-founders of Rare, you dumb fuckGood thing he lived enough to see rare used as a corporate fleshlight
All the M64 stuff and them working with Evercade gives me a sliver of hope that Twelve Tales and some other canceled shit that could be finished are on the horizon for release.
>>12900210Microsoft has all but killed off Rare at this point so there's probably little to lose in licensing off their scraps like this. I'd love to even just have a playable beta ROM of Twelve Tales, even if there's no real "game" there.
>>12900971I'm always fascinated by tech demos of old, so I'm excited on that alone. Anything more is a bonus.
>>12900971How finished was it already?Developing/Finishing an N64 game would be a serious pain in the ass, but nowadays with AI, this should be possible to finish it way easily
>>12901356Please don't give anyone ideas like that. I'm not anti AI but most people who use it use it wrong.
>>12901436You have no idea what AI is capable of nowadays. Obviously, for a good job done you'll need actual artists, modelers, level designers, etc... But the reality is that very little corpo is going to bother finishing an N64 game on the OG dev kit, it's absolutely not happening unless there's very little work to do, and even there, oofHowever, AI is nuts nowadays. I've seen it reverse engineer a VB3 game and port it to Linux, 1:1, same Windows like menus too. Some objects behavior didn't work, but I have the files myself and I can fix itPeople are decompiling games and doing PC port. I'm seeing someone attempt a recomp a PS3 gameI'm personally working on an editor for a Snes game that saves to rom and adding features to the game like crazy, the AI is completely tearing that shit apart. We're currently in a crazy software revolution, it is legitimately insaneWhere I'm getting at is that they absolutely can modernize some custom tools, write new ones and just have the AI help a lot for the development of an N64 game. With AI, the "no, you're fucking nuts, they're never gonna do that" kind of actually becomes a possibilityOr... they can decomp it themselves, or more easily with source code, and just made a modern platform version easily when it would have been a complete pain in the ass to even port this shit. NOW they can finish it reasonably
>>12901536>You have no idea what AI is capable of nowadays.I do, and most people still manage to fuck it up royally.
I understand his reasoning behind not releasing the Rare prototypes. But he doesn’t have a leg to stand on regarding the Ocarina of Time prototype.
>>12901536Pretty much this. The pushback is in the retarded marketing and smoke blowing. No it isn't Artificial Intelligence, not is it AGI nor is it Super Intelligence. It's a tool just as much as another tool you can think of. Handing a power drill and the appropriate resources to an engineer and his team within the Roman empire would be a radical force multiplyer. Same thing with all the stuff that falls on under the AI marketing umbrella. It can be used to multiply the performance of a person doing great things or a retard doing retarded things.
>>12901562Too bad the retarded people greatly outnumber everyone else.
>Twitter reposting has breached containment from /v/ and infested /vr/ now
>>12901557Other than the fact that he's a known industry person who receives these things directly from Nintendo. Yeah, maybe they don't bother to sodomize random anonymous nerds on the internet for dumping protos of decades year old games that they bought on ebay, or people redistributing ROMs taken from their server (they did of course go after the hacker himself), but an actual professional who received the carts/builds as part of a business relationship could very well be another story. And besides, what would be his motivation to dump them, especially considering the risk is non-zero?
>vibecomp before GTA6
>>12901356According to Chris Seavor, there was never really a game there. If you watch the existing gameplay footage, it really just seems like a random assortment of level themes and assets without any real structure or design behind it. https://youtu.be/M6ceNFV2yz4https://youtu.be/dDnvVbdEs7cThe game went through so many changes that even if a version were dumped, it's doubtful it would contain all the content of every build. You could possibly use the Game Boy game as a template for what to base a "finished" game off of. Personally, I think Dinosaur Planet is a great candidate for using AI to finish it up and make something resembling a complete game, especially since we actually have a finished game to reference and a proper decompilation has been done.

>>12901865>I'm personally working on an editor for a Snes game that saves to rom and adding features to the game like crazy, the AI is completely tearing that shit apart. We're currently in a crazy software revolution, it is legitimately insaneYet the ratio of shit vs. someone at least trying has never been bigger. If used as a tool, it can do so much good, but so many don't. Maybe the human race isn't designed to have this technology. Whatever good comes out of it is minuscule compared to the bad.
>>12901720>now
>>12901862Too bad, but good point about Dinosaur Planet, it actually could help there. Can't say how much is in the game because the fags at tcrf once again failed to actually document something interesting. IIRC the final few areas are there more or less but all blank, white maps or some shit?>>12901865???Nobody wants to dig into a rom. It's the most fucking boring job ever>>12901870I'm not even a programmer and I can do this shit easily. It's actually that easy
>>12901882>It's actually that easyI know, but what you see out there says otherwise.
>>12901882The Discord troons seem to have given up trying to finish it and when I last tried it on real hardware it was extremely unstable and prone to seemingly random crashes. I think you still need to use debug menus to warp to the later areas and final boss. Apparently there are lots of leftover Dinosaur Planet files in the retail Starfox Adventures and its beta builds so even if the final game differs substantially, there might be enough to work from.
>>12901779Exactly, which is why he should have anonymously dumped it instead of showing off like a nigger. The only hope now is that some insane guy (not me for any agents reading) raids his house
>>12901536I'm afraid you're being oversold on what AI is capable of. What you're playing in these "ports" is a franken-abomination of static recompilation mixed with HLE that then goes in the "convert this to $API$, make no mistakes" blender until what you get is an unmaintainable mess that holds together just long enough for ADHD zoomies and youtubers to put together 20 mins of "content." Bugs become deep, code becomes fragile, one line functions become load bearing masses that hold up 30 pages of state. Adding features breaks what already "worked", fixing what's broken removes features... AI is not the solution, AI is the grift you do when you need paid fast and will worry about delivering a complete product later. But you'll probably just take the money and run when you realise you turned a 6 month job into an 18 month job.
>>12901919The anti-AI fags are insufferable man. Yes we all know about the fags who shit something out untested and calls it a day, thank you>>12901893To be fair though, it has actually gotten this good and smart semi-recently and you have to actually pay for it (20$ is good enough) to actually access something decent. Free shit like Muse Spark is just good enough for simple shit, then again I didn't know about Mesen, but it never asked to use it instead while Claude outright suggested it>>12901902Seems like the decomp is still in progress but they still haven't even gotten anywhere, lameI wonder if Claude + Mesen (Because it has a MCP + debugger) would be able to catch all the fuck ups and attempt to fix the rom every time it crashes. It would actually be capable for that. The issue is that trying out a new game to start mapping how it works is extremely token intensive. Yesterday I tried to put my editor to the test against Rondo of Blood because I wanted to see if there was actually anything left of the giant Lizard. It had to write a HuC6280 interpreter to actually properly map out the game, but it started doing it. I was just about at listing all of the game's objects in the editor when I ran out of tokens for the day and decided to continue working on my projectBTW: Giant lizard? Unlikely there's code left unfortunately
>>12901961>The anti-AI fags are insufferable manActually that's just you.>fagCHeck>insufferableDouble check with chips on the side
>the dire situation and calls to plan to survive long term blackouts has scared Tim Stamper into finally opening his vaultCool. I wonder if this means that Rare is actually gone now tho
First update. This better not just be a tease for a memoir or something
>>12902253He won't be releasing any ROMs.
