Did anyone else check out the original for one last time before the remake comes out? what did you think of the original recently?
>>12899351>for one last time?
>>12899351it sux
>>12899353Before the remake comes out, and within years everyone is just going to be referencing that version whenever the game is brought up.
Been playing OoT3D honestly. But the original (1.0 or 1.1) N64 will always remain the GOAT
>>12899353Nobody is gonna play the original after next week. Literally lost to time.
>>12899363I liked the 3DS version if only for the 3D effects and the gyro aim
>>12899351>remakeNot retro>>>/v/
>>12899351Is this the fourth or fifth OOT remake/re-release?I'll never understand why people are always excited for them. The game's fun but it's the same game we all own multiple copies of. Why hype up yet another at an even higher price point?
>>12899531It's the first remake
>>12899531gcn master questwii vc3ds remake
>>12899363O.O very cool anon thankie
>>12899351I have no intention of playing the remake ever, and my current plan is to go on continuing to pretend that it doesn't exist.
is bootiful
>>12899564Don't you wanna play wet soggy squeegie clay uncanney valley "wooden puppet aesthetic" that no one asked for for no reason Zelda tho anon?
I just did another OoTxMM randomizer actually. It was hilarious. I couldn’t complete any child dungeons until I found the slingshot in Termina field, then had to do all the adult dungeons in reverse order. And then I couldn’t do MM’s temples until beating OoT because all the songs were in Ganon’s castle. Very fun.>>12899362The remake will sell like shit and will always live in the shadow of the N64 original.
The original will never die
>>12899606>The remake will sell like shitThis is cope, soi millennials alone are going to buy millions of copies
>>12899351I thought it was gay on release and I still think it's gay now and I'm not going to play it ever again and the remake is also gay and you are gay.
>>12899845That's a lot of projection in just a few words
>>12899835>millionsSure, but it won't sell as well as the original or the 3DS remake.
>>12899876Delusional retard. It'll out sell both.
>>12899878That's not even possible, even assuming you mean each one individually. OoT remake is not going to sell 8 million units (N64 OoT sold 7.6 mil) on a console where only the pack-in title has gone above 5 million.
>>12899353once the remake comes out, if you boot the n64 original it will ask to install a mandatory update. yes, on real hardware and emulators and even ship of harkinian.
>>12899882Switch 2 already sold 23 million console units before the remake. People who held out on buying a Switch 2 are going to pick it up purely for OoT. You underestimate nostalgia. It'll go down as one of the most sold game on the system. You're a dumb retard.
>>12899351aged like milk.
>>12899931>People who held out on buying a Switch 2 are going to pick it up purely for OoT.Lol no they aren't. Nobody, no fucking person on planet Earth, is going to drop $560 minimum to replay a game they already played before.
>>128999313DS shipped about 76 million units and OoT 3D sold about 6 million. OoT on Switch 2 will be lucky if it reaches 2 million.
>>12899351Still the best game of all time, except maybe Metroid Prime!
>>12900062I bought a Switch 2 to play the Wind Waker, people are going to buy them for OoT for sure.I mean I would have bought one eventually either way, but I definitely bought it sooner because of this.
>>12899351No. I always hated OoT and all subsequent 3d Zelda games. Hated it back when it was released, still hate it now.The gameplay is terrible, Zelda games shouldn't be 3d.
>>12899351Couldn't be that good if it needed remaking.
>>12899351unreal 5 demake slop
>>12900112I've heard people buying a wii u for the hd windwaker remakeBut dropping $600 to play an emulated gamecube game? Are you okay? Who hurt you?
>>12899351Wildly overrated. It feels like it barely functions. Mario 64 still has top tier controls even compared to modern games. OoT feels dated. Even the 3DS remaster feels outdated despite all the QoL features they added.
>>12899907kek
>>12899351Yea I’m up to the shadow temple in a recent playthrough. Guess I just played at the perfect time and age because I love this game. Perma left an imprint and one of the few games I replay every so often.
>>12900073Prime 1 is overrated as all fuck.
>>12900327That's as far as I made it during my last playthrough back in 2023. It just gets so fucking boring.
Does anyone else have expectations of this game like, I hope they finally tell us what happens to Navi at the end of Ocarina? People theorize after completing her mission she was going to disappear like a fairy after healing you and she didn't want Link to see it so she just leaves. On another note Nintendo has a chance to add a character named Kasuto. If you look at Adventure of Link map you can see all the towns are named after characters in Ocarina except the town of Kasuto. Do you think they will "fix" this in the story by adding the missing Kasuto character?
>>12900072>OoT 3D sold about 6 millionThe difference here is this OoT is a full remake, not a polished port. Everyone who has a Switch 2 is going to buy it.
The fact that, based on this and other releases, it appears that Nintendo did hire that man, I kind of feel that maybe we should just stop joking about things in general.
>>12900487I don't expect too many new additions, I think they are going at the remake from the angle of just making it feel like a real living breathing world now.
>>12899363The worst thing to come out of the whole remake discussion is people trying to elevate OOT3D above the original for absolutely no reason. OOT3D is fucking garbage and if the switch remake means no one will ever talk about it again, I'll buy 30 copies.
>>12900984Now post the N64 version.
>>12899365Sure, broccoli. Now excuse me, I have some randomizers to play.
>>12899931>>12900496>>12900112>He doesn't know
>>12901007That's one fly hairstyle! no cap fr fr straight bussin' on god
>>12900984I'll continue to enjoy both :)
>>12900984Why is it garbage?
>>12901228you can't turn garbage into gold. on the contrary, every time a game gets remade or remastered, it gets even worse.
>>12901239That's not what I asked. Why is OoT3D bad?
>>12900984What's with the revisionism surrounding OOT3D, everyone loved it, they rushed out and bought 3DS consoles.
>>12899351>>12899362Thank you for reminding that remakefags are retards that like shiny new shit.
>>12901310Majority of autists seethe and nitpick over the hit or miss lighting changes and the saturation boost, namely Ganon's last fight. Mods literally fixed all of this btw and restored red blood, plus the N64 PC port exists for all the niggers crying, so there's no excuse to complain anymore. No one ever talks about the game being slightly dumbed down outside the Water Temple because said autists don't play video games.
>>12901328Popular = bad, obscure game for shitty failure system = good
>>12901328>What's with the revisionism surrounding OOT3DI never liked it, but at some point every time I criticized it I got hit with "it's the definitive version" or "it's literally the same game with better graphics." Nintendoyim have always been wrong on this one, and now that a new remake is coming out they're bending over backwards to explain why once piece of dogshit is better than the other.>>12901228>>12901310It's fucking ugly. Highly saturated colors and brightened so you can see it on a shitty handheld screen. Cutscenes are changed and made less cinematic. Half the bullshit people complain about in the new remake (yellow paint in Water Temple, girl designs being censored) was already established in OOT3D.And lastly, I don't give a fuck about "quality of life" enhancements. If you played Ocarina of Time with Kaebora Gaebora's dialogue looping fixed, King Ruto's shuffling cutscene shortened, and without pausing and unpausing to equip iron boots, etc, you didn't play Ocarina of Time.
>>12901328>they rushed out and bought 3DS consoles. Some schmucks did. Most people didn't, which is why Ninty had to severely slash the price to try and shift some units, and made the ambassador program to placate those early adopters.
>>12902335>I never liked itEveryone else bought and played it, so idk what to tell you chief.
If you didn't play and beat this game on a real N64 back in 98/99... You plain weren't there, and shouldn't be in this thread squabbling. (You) know who (You) are.
>>12902335>It's fucking uglyI'm glad I'm not the only one to think so. The original game's artists went for a "realistic" look, or as realistic as could be done on a N64, and the 3DS remake just shat all over that by turning it into a colorful Disney cartoon.
>>12902451I bet psychologists could win the nobel prize for explaining why those who played Ocarina of Time around launch day have enshrined the game in a time capsule for all eternity.
>Develop five Zelda games>They're the definitive five worst games in the franchiseOcarina of Time 3DMajora's Mask 3DTri Force HeroesLink's Awakening SwitchEchoes of WisdomFuck Grezzo. Basically the MercuryStream of Zelda.
>>12899351Which remake? Master quest gamecube or 3ds?
>>12899351Only played through the original once back in the 2000s, I replayed it again before the gameplay reveal of the remake so I could have one last untainted experience and it's still magical.
>>12902939I enjoyed both LA and EoW desu. I’m a sucker for that 'toy box' art style.
>>12903113Those aren’t remakes.
>>12902335>Half the bullshit people complain about in the new remake (yellow paint in Water Temple, girl designs being censored) was already established in OOT3D>Retarded tranny misses the point with added lies
>>12899351OoT was way ahead of its time and holds up just as well today
>>12902454>and the 3DS remake just shat all over that by turning it into a colorful Disney cartoon.Ah yes. OoT was never meant to be colorful.
>>12902454This is the biggest lie commonly told by OoT fans. Look at this fucking thing. In what way was that design ever supposed to be ‘realistic'?
>>12905773Oh dear God thank you.I'm so sick of grifters going out of their way to come up with stupid reasons to shit on it and think of themselves as being better because of that. I have no issue with people who just didn't gel with the game and are just honest about that, or even just think it could be better than it is, but Ocarina is just absolutely deserving of its accolades and is just so well built and advanced for what platform it was on it's insane.
>>12902335>I got hit with "it's the definitive version"It literally is, for five more days.
>>12899351I haven't played it since I was a young child, and when I did it was my favorite game of all time and was like my entire formative gaming memories. It will be kinda sad to play it now and overwrite all those memories with that of a more cynical, disillusioned adult that has already played hundreds of games that came after.
>>12905852>It will be kinda sad to play it now and overwrite all those memoriesI actually did this recently, and my experience was delightfully mixed. The weaker parts of the game very much suffer from you already knowing what to expect and being able to get through them in easy, formulaic ways. However, in spite of this, the strong parts and aspects of the game remain every bit as great as the original experience, often to a surprising degree of fidelity, and, on top of this, certain parts of the game actually ended up being more impactful because I happened to recall just enough to understand what was possible, but didn't have an exhaustive memory of the game, and hence got the satisfaction of realizing just how much was now opening up to me while not being sure enough of everything to just see it as a checklist of things to do, in ways I didn't the first time. There is absolutely nothing that came after that hits the same highs that this does. Anyone telling you "hey, yeah, you may have actually loved OoT as kid kid, but didn't you know know that x has surpassed it and did all this stuff better" has no soul and I can almost guarantee never really got it in the first place. There is just so much incredible nuance to how everything is thoughtfully composed and comes together, and this is something that can affect you regardless of age.
>>12905873>The weaker parts of the game very much suffer from you already knowing what to expect Speaking of this. I've been playing recently and I'm currently in the Shadow Temple. Now of course I remember roughly the order in which you tackle the dungeons so I knew I had to get the Lens of Truth (in the past) before going into the Shadow Temple but is there any NPC which specifically tells you to go back in time? Navi pesters you to "check out the well" but I don't think any NPC gives you direct instruction to go back in time, which I think is kind of a weak point in the game where you can get stuck.
>>12906134>Grrrrrrrrr! I'll never forget what happened on that day seven years ago! Grrrrrrrrr! It's all that ocarina kid's fault! Next time he comes around here, I'm gonna mess him up!>What?! You've got an ocarina! What the heck! That reminds me of that time seven years ago! Back then a mean kid came here and played a strange song. It messed up this windmill!
>>12899876>o-o-okay it's gonna sell but not as much as the original!lmaoalready backpedaling
>>12906134>But there are still other Sageswho need your help.In order to awaken all the otherSages, you must become evenmore powerful. You must travel overmountains...under water...and even through time...
>>128993513DS version mogged the original years ago. Now the original is about to get GIGAMOGGED so hard it turns to dust.
>>12906219Being outsold by both the original and the 3DS remake is indeed selling like shit, anon
>>12902451this
>>12906134The puzzle you have to solve to access the well is strange, as what you do makes no sense and doesn't follow how time travel otherwise works in the game. There are many points you could get stuck, but part of the charm of it is how much emphasis there is on having you explore and figure out what to do yourself.>I knew I had to get the Lens of Truth (in the past) before going into the Shadow TempleTechnically you don't. In fact, not only can you fairly easily obtain the Hover Boots stumbling around the starting section without it, but you can skip going into the well entirely if you know how to deal with the fake/invisible objects.
>>12905793Jesus christ, put down the glaze. It was a great game THIRTY YEARS AGO. It's not THAT GOOD - NOW. It will be ok, just accept it dude.
>>12906452The game's fine. You need to calm the FUCK. DOWN.
I don't play remakes.
>>12906227>I am sheik>survivor of the sheikThey couldn't come up with a better name?
>>12906452What happened to your copy of the game over the last thirty years? Did you run it through the wash or something?
>>12906652Yeah the game is washed out for sure, very archaic.
I just can't go back after Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, the best games in the series. I hope they get away from their breath of the wild shit.
>>12906679>Skyward SwordWeakest of bait. Nobody would unironically consider SS to be even a good entry in the series let alone one of the best.
>>12906681I loved being able to control the sword, and I like the aethstetic where all the magic stuff was clearly technology.
>>12906452You should try not posting anymore.
