That was long before I even knew that "deathless" or "no damage" or "1CC" runs were even a thing. The game was just so well designed and fun and rewarding that it pushed me towards improving myself. Not dying and not getting hit just felt satisfying. And finally beating the third phase of Sigma after weeks was one of the best feelings in videogames.
