No, I had access to the internet in my high school by the time I owned a Playstation. I did, however, call the Nintendo Power hotline after becoming stuck on "Link's Awakening" for Gameboy.
>First defeat the imprisoned Pols Voice, last Stalfos.
They knew what they were doing. Probably raked in an extra $200,000 in hotline calls and magazine sales from that room alone.

I called one asking for help about finding the last fortune doll in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, I don't really remember how it went other than he couldn't help me since he didn't know which ones I'd gotten already, I guess I figured there might be one everyone misses or something.

Once with the Nintendo one. I forgot to give Frogfucius the Cricket Pie, so I was stuck in Marrymore.

It was a common question they got, apparently. At least that's what I remember him saying (or maybe it was just that he instantly knew the problem).

Never. But I would've liked working as the guy who answers the phone there.

Yeah for N64 and GB Zelda games and I remember calling them just to ask how they knew all this stuff. Also got some nice ASMR tingles from the calls.

I could never have called one from Spain, but that's exactly how I imagined it would go.

I'm in Australia. These corporations opened up their own hotlines here under insane premium 1902-xxx-xxx numbers that averaged between $1 to $2 a minute depending on the business. adult lines used to go up as high as $5 a minute.. something fucking stupid like that. crazy times. my parents would kill me if i called a 1902 number but apparently many parents gave no fucks and let their kids go wild.
