So they were cryptic the other day about new ports and rereleases coming to n64 via modretro and now we have two game drops: Body Harvest and Clayfighters: Sculptors cut. So are these part of the hints we were given or were these just ready to drop and we’re still getting the other 3 ports plus Croc? Anyway I had to order a clayfighter. Loved the game growing up and had no idea it was a rental only. Me and a buddie tried hard unlocking Boogerman I think. Good times. Anyone have opinions on Body Harvest. Even tho I’m a 64 fag I never played or even checked it out. The cover put me off.
>>12899173Body Harvest is a sort of proto-GTA made by the same guys. It's a 3rd-person shooter/action game that puts you as a time-travelling space marine who's sent back in time as a last-ditch effort to prevent time-travelling aliens from defeating humanity during an invasion. The big draw comes from exploring the large semi-open world gameplay, using the myriad vehicles ranging from farm trucks to military equipment and even some aircraft. It's a pretty novel experience, and it's far from a bad game, but it does start feeling repetitive towards the end as the last few levels aren't as good and there are few enemy types. Worth playing if you're itching for action games on N64, but it definitely feels like an experimental title without the polish it needed to excel.
I don't think those were related to these releases, since they were teasing brand-new ports rather than reissues. Cool to see they have so many plates spinning though.
i liked body harvest a lot as a kid but idk how well it holds up. super moody atmosphere for what it is. kind of an old-school GTA1/2 style open world bug killing game.
Must be nice to have an NTSC N64 or M64 and get all these new games/prints
>>12899585These consoles don’t work where ur at??>>12899240That’s cool I may have to snag a copy if it goes on sale.>>12899440I hope ur right. The more the merrier. Would love to see a ton of consistent ports and re releases
>>12899601I live in PAL territory
>>12899173I can't imagine why they'd spend the time re-releasing Clayfighter. Game was pure trash.
>>12899173>had no idea it was a rental onlySculptor's Cut is basically the devs taking everything that got cut from Clayfighter 3 due to running out of time and money and shoving it in the game (though it still didn't include Hobocop) even if some of the cut characters are blatantly unfinished, along with making it less of a Killer Instinct-style combo fest (no more 100+ hit combo finishers). I like the intro theme it added.
>>12899618it's the blockbuster exclusive version that came out later that's quite rare.Or should I say, WAS rare. This one sold for 175k less than 2 years ago.
>>12899626Not really aware of the changes since I think I only really played the Final Cut one but I do remember enjoying it quite a bit as a fun consistent rental over the weekends w my buddy back in the day
body harvest looks kind of cool, didnt know about these games the gta devs did before they moved on to 3.
>>12899608Man that sucks they don’t have pal versions or a conversion piece for pal use
>>12899628yeah, but 1st editions never opened still sealed usually hold their value even with reprintsthe loose copies going for $1500 are going to get hit the hardest by any reissue
>>12900221Were there sealed versions of the blockbuster exclusive? I didn’t realize they sold it separate, I thought they were all rentals. I’d imagine a sealed copy if they exist are extremely rare.
>>12900308>Were there sealed versions of the blockbuster exclusive?well there's at least one>I didn’t realize they sold it separate, I thought they were all rentals.they would have been initially, then I guess they sold them to make way for new stuff years later?>I’d imagine a sealed copy if they exist are extremely rare.indeed
>>12900221Did Worms Armageddon get a price drop after Limited Run reprinted their version of it?
How many levels did Body Harvest have? I couldn't even get past the 2nd level as a little kid.
>>129004296, maybe 7 depending on if you count the final boss level as its own thing.
