Not shitposting, just an idea I had: a thread for conceptual demakes. What would modern games look like if they had been made back in the day, on actual retro hardware?

Post mockups, ideas, or examples, and talk about how the game might have played within the limitations of the system.

With the tools we have now, making them a reality isn't just fantasy anymore, but becoming a legitimate possibility, and with homebrews, romhacks, and modern releases on retro hardware being allowed, I believe this should fit within the scope of /vr/.

Image related; Ghost Recon Wildlands if it released on PC in 1998

Sounds like a gay thread theme. Why couldn't we just have a Rainbow Six thread?

Somebody just published a complete C64 demake of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Atlantis, which was only on 16- and 32-bit computers. Also there was also the complete Eye of the Beholder published on C64 not too long ago. It needs a REU. Somebody else is working on Monkey Island too. Puzzle Bobble got a C64 demake that looks nearly as good as the Neo-Geo version (yes really).

It's the only 8-bit platform left with real life and it's full of demakes.

won't call it a demake per se, but alttp is a better game

    >Sanchez and Chavez as Ghosts
    >McKenzie as any sort of combatant
    >M4A1 in 3-round burst, slicing off the barrel at the front sight.

Does a "demake" involve regressing the writers & designers to Neanderthals?
    >>
    >>12899854
Was this the first genuine demake? Or were there others before it? I remember it being the first....Not counting backports of games, like Maniac Mansion on the C64.
    >>
    >>12899956
There were plenty of inaccuracies in the original game, like the Desert Eagle having 6 rounds, the M16A2 having an incorrect safe/semi/burst/auto trigger group, the Colt Model 610 having a 30 round magazine despite using the 20 round model, the USP40 and the Mark 23 using the same picture to represent them, and the Super 90 holding 8 shells instead of 7.

Is this Indiana Jones or Congo?
    >>
    >>12899073

    That would be awesome.
The devs of Rainbow six Black ops 2.0 really should add a better over-the- shoulder camera.

Imagine if the Rainbow Six port for the GBA had been an actual FPS, even though the lack of buttons on the gba would have been a problem.

Brother, this game already exists. It's called Delta Force.
    >>
yep, we really needed another ai slop dump thread
    this isn't /vr/ btw
    >>
Thread's just an excuse for some Indian to dump his AI slop.
    >>
    >>12902620
Sort of, but not really. The squadmates in Delta Force 1 and 2 are bots that travel in predetermined lines, and tactics are minimal. Delta Force is fun, but it's really no substitute to a Tom Clancy game.
    >>
    >>12902620
is this a screenshot for ants?!
    >>
    >>12899103
Because only the original game is good, specifically the Dreamcast version.
    >>
This thread is a demake of /v/
    >>
    >>12904986
That's actually not for off the lowest res you could play on. It made the game easy because you would just look for the weird coloured block to shoot.
