What didn’t more retro games include swearing like “fuck” and “cunt”?
>>128989054chan is dying.
>>12898913Actually it's been dead a long time. You know that meme about the Quake 3 server where there was nothing for bots for years and they became sentient after repeating their one liners over and over?Yeah.
>>12898905What does Iru! have to do with this
>>12898913Activity on the other /vr/ is picking up, visit it!
Because they were still establishing rating standards, and it was all over the place.
>>12898967What?
>>12898967Knowing Quake 3's bot chat, that seems all too likely.
>>12898905Because it's not fucking necessary and people had slightly more morals back then
>>12898913/v/, /pol/ and /vg/ are 90% of it's remaining traffic, every smaller board is a graveyard and what little posts remain are largely garbage low quality ones, /vr/ included/v/ is largely an unusable shithole full of faggots obsessed with politics, social media or newfags that only want to discuss complete sewage>>12899625Go back newfag
>>12901707Did piracy kill 4chan?
>>12901718No, the same thing that killed the rest of the internet did: the tsunami of phoneposting newfags. Moot abandoning ship and ownership being passed to people that wouldn't piss on the site if it was on fire didn't help.
>>12901725Wouldn't that imply there would be more posts? The phonefags left for tiktok and twitter or whatever
>>12898905Does hearing those words make you feel like a grown-up?>>12901725Where's India?
>>12901743There WERE more posts for a long time, now most of the phonefags left, the oldfags left too because this place is garbage that doesn't resemble even a shadow of it's former self and all we are left with are the lowest quality posters around and the few remaining fags that have nowhere else to go. Most of the site is below 2008 levels of traffic and yet quality is worse than ever.
>>12901749The faster boards like /pol/ and /v/ were better when they were fast. Now they move like blue boards. It doesn't make sense that a whole bunch of people suddenly left
>>12901752>The faster boards like /pol/ and /v/ were better when they were fast.good one
>>12901752>It doesn't make sense that a whole bunch of people suddenly leftTheir purpose was fulfilled. There's also the side point that a lot of places are passing more draconian internet safety laws and while 4chan isn't banned a lot of places (yet) it's certainly a filtered site for a lot of ISPs and such. I know my phone provider kept me off for a while recently until I called them up to change the NSFW content setting on my account (literally never ran into it before). It's going to get worse when we lose the UK soon, and then various state-level US laws will do the same. Because 4chan is so vulnerable to VPN abuse those won't work either. The pool might be about to open permanently.
>>12901752>It doesn't make sense that a whole bunch of people suddenly leftDid you miss that hack that happened at least a year ago? I'm sure that probably affected a lot of people, that and weird ass moderation to the point where fucking twitter is some how more "internet hate machine" than 4chan at this point.
We had a less vulgar culture
>>12901769'Fuck' has lost its impact now that you're allowed to say it on TV uncensored. Now they're saying it 500 times per season as some sort of power move, rather saving it for important moments. Same with penises.
>>12901764Why would 40% of the userbase decide to suddenly quit the board after the hack? All at once too
>>12901780I know a lot of mods and jannies resigned. Based on the state of the board, you know most left /vr/. No-brainers to delete or ban someone are ignored 90% of the time.
>>12901780Quality fell, phonefags being cowards, no one wanting to moderate it anymore as another hack is inevitable. If shit was neglected for so long, I don't think hiro got the security shit together.
>>12898967>and they became sentient after repeating their one liners over and over? What?Do tell
>>12902012Guess he refers to picrel.Of course they didn't actually become sentient, they simply stopped fighting because a 0-0 k/d ratio seemed like the safest bet to them after a while.Dunno if it's actually true tho, I don't know shit about how Quake bots work but really wouldn't rule out that this anon was just trolling.
>>12901805>another hack is inevitableRemember almost every site going down because of a PHP vulnerability a week ago?According to the Desuarchive admin (pic related), you're probably right
>>12901707>every smaller board is a graveyardI dunno why people need more than 1000 posts a day. Yes, the website is ass these days but not because of the amount of posts per dayReposted because I pasted the wrong image
>>12901707And then there's Tranny Smith ruling over at /vr/, and then Famicom (the TMS schizo) and the others shitting over at /co/, and you get banned by just mentioning this, but i dont give a monkeys ass anymore.
>>12902153I went to /cgl/ recently for convention shit and it's beyond slow. Unfortunately the mods are being fags and won't let people do a new thread even if one reached the bump limit because it's still in the catalogue, so where's in a weird standstill where the thread is destined to die even though it has not reached the image limit, so the thread is in a weird "limbo". Truly, thanks mods for "caring", truly makes the site betterOtherwise there seems to be one fag on the board forever lurking it being randomly pointlessly mean to anyone posting, so even dead boards aren't safe from raid and weird schizoOtherwise it's kinda "Why is this dead?", "Everyone went to social media and Discord for proper attention whoring", "We need to get back x audience", "Do you seriously want these people who creates drama on a dime?". Sad
>>12902160Nobody even knows what you're talking about, anon.
