>>12894484Everything after Cell and Frieza is garbage. You had all of og Dragon Ball (kind of) plus the entire Saiyan saga hyping Frieza up. Plus the war for the dragon balls on Namek pretty much mogs every other plotline of the entire Dragon Ball franchise. The Cell saga, for as kind of lame/uninspired the cell games was, it at least it introduced Trunks and his timeline which was fairly interesting. Buu saga + everything after is just whatever, its what happens when an anime keeps going even after it has ended (Grappler Baki is going through something similar right now) > GUYS VEGETA IS BAD AGAIN CAUSE M ON HIS HEAD NOW GOKU AND VEGETA FIGHT AGAIN!!! :)

The story is also interesting from the angle that Baby is basically a sort of adaptation of the story from the DBZ Gaiden game (which story was used for the OVAs), super 17 was very edgy and the dragon arc felt like a proper finale for the series in a way, focusing on the sctual Dragon Balls.It's still not as good as Toriyama-written DB but I don't find reasons to hate it.It's just sad that the only 2 GT games we got were Final Bout, which we all played to death back in the day but was not nearly as fun as the 16bit fighting games, and that weird GBA game developed by westerners, I haven't played that one but I don't expect much from it

>>12899252Funimations treatment of Dragon Ball was only a step up from 4kids. Lot of bastardization that unfortunately has kept in with even later projects. I have no clue why moves like Masenko or Kaioken were kept yet they changed move names like Kienzan to Destructo Disc despite it sounding no different in terms of being very foreign sounding names. I really hate how that company now has a near monopoly of anime dubbing in the West just because Dragon Ball helped keep them afloat. They STILL practice a severe case of nepotism with only a handful of voice actors under Crunchyrolls brand name.

>>12901317It's not really the same kind of game as the 1 on 1 fighters.From what little I played, Xenoverse seems to want to do something similar to what Idainaru did, with a lot more tedium and less soul.Idainaru is a really unique game though, and the only 5th gen DBZ game I really like.Wouldn't say it's more fun than the Butoden games simply because the VS mode isn't as fun, but again different kind of games. Definitely more enjoyable than FB
