The Konoko portraits were by the main artist (Lorraine McLees) who also retouched most finished ones, but I don't know who did the actual lineart. This game had an insanely smooth combat system.I just wish it allowed you to grab onto the ledges of platforms, it would've made the platforming so much simpler. But maybe people would've considered it too close to Tomb Raider if it did.

>>12903576>>12903582It's a Ghost in the Shell inspired weeaboo third person fighter/platformer/shooter hybrid.iirc the story is that the people of the planet live in judge dredd style mega cities, everything outside the cities is an unlivable mutant jungle, inside the cities there are atmospheric plants filtering out pathogens and spores from the air to make the air breathable.Konoko's (real name Mai Hasegawa) dad was a biochem researcher and her mom was some kind of commie retard who thought the gubment was lying to them, and decided to go trekking outside the city. Naturally, she won a darwin award immediately. Dad was heartbroken and decided to create a chrysalis that would make people strong enough to live in the poisonous conditions outside the cities.So dad put the prototype into his twin children and, I forgot how, but he died. Konoko then got put into police foster care with his uncle overseeing the chrysalis growth. She doesn't know of any of this, she's just a headstrong asshole-ish cop who's sick of being constantly pulled back from jobs she could easily handle (she's sort of an adrenaline junkie but being excited also pushes the chrysalis too far, when that happens she does an anime power burst explosion, so the chief of police keeps her on a tight leash).The chrysalis itself is like a beneficial turbo cancer. In-game it just makes her strong enough to sprint nonstop for the entire level, heal back from bullet wounds, fight 3-4 people at the same time, and if she uses too many healing items she gets a big power up temporarily (when her health goes above 100% she gets a blue super saiyan aura, and her health starts dropping until it reaches 100% again). In cutscenes she can swim through acid and does anime RAAAAGE explosions when she gets emotional.picrel is the ingame cutscene where she escapes from a power plant by swimming through the waste tunnels which are basically pools of acid, eating away her clothes.

He plans on destroying the atmospheric filtering plants so people have to pay him for protection or have them injected with the chrysalis to survive, I forgot which one. He also knows more about the chrysalis and uses it to augment his mooks, and he can also turn into a Hulk form (depending on what route you take in the game; if you kill the police chief in anger the last boss will be a solo fight vs Hulk, if you have mercy on the chief he'll show up in the last second with reinforcements and you have a huge battle royale).

Go play it and really scrutinize it and you'll find it comes off as just flabby; the first time I played it the only thing I was wow'd by was the engine itself but the rest of it had no follow through. Rockstar saw the same thing and took the only good thing which was the engine and modified it for their 3d GTA games.
