Just noticed the other day that the original Medal of Honor has now been recompiled for PC. It even has experimental VR support.

https://github.com/FractalEngineer/Medal-Of-Honor-PSX-Recomp

I'm unable to test it myself currently, but thought I'd leave it here in case anyone wants to try it out.

Also, MoH thread I guess

The recomp could provide another opportunity to "restore" the cut Colditz Castle mission

I want Frontline. PS1 is too boomer for me, which is saying a lot cause I'm 34

You're in luck:

Man that looks like ass. Rad though. It's hard to tell whether it's okay to play them in their current state though

Oh actually looks like no mouse support so yeah that's a nope for now

videogame estrotroonica

>>12892797
I think it's the ridiculous fov setting and the PS3 assets that does it. It looks as it should with those off

>>12892801
That's a bummer. I think Dolphin has mouse support for the GC version though

The first 2 MoH games are janky as fuck

>playing MOH on PS1
>the BAR uses SMG ammo
>dropped

Are any of them kino? Besides AA

AA, the only one made by a different developer, developer who would went to become Infinity Ward
>>
>>12892876
Still among the best controlling fps games on the PS1
>>
>>12892892
MoH is the definition of WWII kino
>>
>>12892897
I believe it. I'm also hyped to play a PS1 game with mouse & k . Only feel bad about losing rumble
>>
>>12892892
For some reason the first and second one have a more dark atmosphere than MOHAA and details I wish they had kept (The soldiers being able to die shooting and dogs taking your grenades and going kamikaze on you).

I finished the game for the first time just a few days ago. I encountered a weird glitch(?) where picking up ammo played the "english" voice effect. Did that happen to anybody else? It was irritating as fuck. I played the greatest hits version on ps2.

Speaking from perspective of someone who replayed and 100% both PS1 MoH games on his Vita a year ago or so

Very nice and overall I can't say anything bad about it outside of stupid logic behind both undercover missions - both games give you "Excellent" rating only when you end the level with 95% enemies killed and with more than 75% HP left, and it's baffling that kill count condition applies to levels where ideally you're supposed to kill as few people as possible.
The Attack on Impenetrable Fort Schmerzen is the best mission of the game.
>Underground
Ughhhh
Your aim becomes so bad on Hard it feels like you're controlling a drunkard, not to mention enemies turn into HP sponges (so enjoy wasting a bunch of ammo on enemies even while aiming at their heads)
Devs became obsessed with "and SUDDENLY enemies pop out of thin air!" triggers (some levels in Hunting the Desert Fox and Last Rites at Mount Cassino are ESPECIALLY guilty of this), and the funniest thing is that you notice these triggers immediately because FPS drops rock bottom (the game can't handle more than 6 enemies at the same time IIRC, so some enemies will only pop out of thin air after you kill the previous ones)
Levels are now full of "point of no return" spots (probably because levels eat up more RAM than in previous game), and sometimes game is being such an asshole by trying to free up some memory that it just deletes ammo and first aid packs you left behind (while you wanted to pick them up later). This is incredibly awful on some levels where finishing with 75%+ HP is no easy task.
FUCK WHOEVER DESIGNED "Sidecar Shootout" WITHOUT CONSIDERING HARD MODE AND "Excellent" CONDITIONS
At least Wewelsburg: Dark Camelot is a very cool mission.

Yeah, Underground can be pretty brutal. For some reason there's a slight offset with the crosshair in that game, made worse if played in widescreen on an emulator. Luckily, there's a widescreen gameshark code out there that fixes it

Sister franchise also got some projects

https://github.com/crazyriddler/FinestHourRemastered
I'm playing it right now and it's good (recomp, not necessarily the game, but the new graphical effects make Stalingrad more impressive with tracers and dynamic light), locked to 60 fps.

https://github.com/SmokeDoggy044/CoD2-BRO-Native-Loader
Technically not a recomp, but a compatibility layer from og Xbox. It's supposed to serve as a proof of concept for recomp, so it's getting more PC features.

Work in progress, this one aims to be more faithful, apparently they fixed mouse now, comes pre-compiled
https://github.com/FrankHUN88453/CoD3Recomp

This one has faster progress of new features, with multiplayer and good mouse aiming, ability to enable sprint or COD4 movement (both optional), ultra widescreen. Need to compile exec, but the launcher does pretty much everything, including the download of the necessary software. Also you get ability to (pre) upscale textures with Waifu2x.

Duckstation plays this better, runs, look better, and has better customized controlls, lmao this is shit.

Plus there was already a PC remake that was released last june on moddb
>>
>>12898018
I wouldn't know since I have nothing to play it on, and there's no gameplay recordings out there.

How about this one?

What I don't like about the MoH Retro Remake is that it retains the shitty draw distance of the PS1 original while at the same time attempting to be a graphical update. It's made worse by using the original level geometry and low-res textures, blurring out said textures and putting a low-effort stone wall texture overlay on top all of them. It just doesn't mesh well with the updated lighting and models.

But I'll still give it props for being a solo dev project, not to mention that it's the first time anyone has attempted to restore the cut Colditz Castle mission to something closer to how it was originally meant to be played. That one was always my holy grail when it comes to cut content.

Still, I'd love to play that one with the original graphics, but with better draw distance and with enemy AI tweaked around the better visibility, and that should be more or less possible now.
