    >>

I played the hell out of Airport Tycoon (the game launched as Airport Mogul)
    >>
Here's my Halloween map, give it a shot. I went all out on decorations this time which feels a little narcissistic as there's less room for self expression

It's a complete 5 coasters scenario with a required excitement of 8.00. I wanted to go higher but thought it might be too much

Its a mediafire link because catbox was being a fucky wucky again

Let's play a game, /vr/ct. If you complete one of these coasters on the server and the excitement does not meet the scenario requirements, you must listen to Candy Style music for 2 hours straight.

/vr/ct coaster challenge. We build a coaster but we alternate between builders every 3 track pieces and we're not allowed to delete a piece unless it makes the ride impossible or puts it over intensity.

    >>
Is there some kind of template people use to make maps? You know, so the scenario has the standard selection of rides and scenery instead of needing to add them all manually.
    >>
    >>12890957
The anon who hosts the server was going to make something like this but i don't think he did
    >>
    >>12891135
You're right, I really ought to do that. I have been manually adding the objects to every map we play for a while now.
    >>
Here it is. This is a landscape file that contains all of the objects commonly used in weekend parks. Please use this as a base for creating new parks for multiplayer purposes. I suggest you rename the file to 2026 Objects File or something similar so you can find it easily in your directory.

    >>
    >>12891586
I don't envy you, adding the objects is annoying which is why i don't do it . When you make a map if you enter the object list it resets the invention list aswell which is also annoying

That's good to hear. Because when I try, it first says "Permission denied" and then "Unable to connect to server" and I didn't want to think I did something wrong to get me banned from the server. I was looking forward to making 8.00+ excitement coaster, but I guess I can sit out.

I figured out how to make animated objects

Look at this thing i made, since i can't make a webm you can just have a park with the wip objects. It's called wind draft

    >>
    >>12894621
Alright fine, I'll do better next time, possibly.
    >>
Nta, but give me some do's and don'ts for making rides look more realistic. I always just build stuff that looks cool and has a good rating while trying to not go too crazy, but I don't know shit about actual rollercoasters and wonder how I could improve my non-meme builds.
    >>
    >>12894664
    BANK
    YOUR
    TURNS
Also work to keep speed reasonable. Don't make the chain lift too massive, don't use tight inversions/turns at high speeds. Usually a realistic coaster looks "good"
    >>
Maybe it was a bad idea to keep the "All Destructible" cheat on.
    >>
    >>12894664
Take a look at what the real variants of RCT coasters look like. It should give you a good idea as to what to make. For example, real-life suspended looping coasters tend to have small, compact layouts with lots of inversions. So try to limit your builds to under 100 feet in height, and step down the size of inversions as you go. Start with loops, then use corkscrews and rolls once you've used up most of your momentum. Don't even bother with airtime hills unless they're necessary for getting the track into place for your next inversion or banked turn.

It's a good idea to watch on-ride videos of real variants of the ride you are trying to build. It's very easy to find them on Youtube. RCT has pretty good sprite work, so just match the in-game trains and track to the real rides.

This tip applies to pretty much every coaster type. You will never need to look up the hidden values that coasters require as long as you make an honest attempt at realism.
    >>
    is the server down?

    Try it now.
    >>
    For me it's cotton candy
    >>
    >objective can't be completed due to black lung
    >>
    >You definitely do not want to come out the base of a vertical loop (or half-loop) and go directly into a corkscrew. If the train is fast enough to get through the loop, it will hit the corkscrew at or near 40 mph, and that will put the lateral G's through the roof. (How to Reduce Coaster Intensity and Add Excitement, RCT STATION)
Maybe the problem is that the guests are a bunch of wimps.

Park is too full to add anything, also despite having similar building skill it's making me feel mogged and shit about my existent skills. Maybe I should build a micropark...
Really loving this in picrel, it's very similar to an idea I was trying to make work but was struggling to get the factory buildings to look right. Basically wanted a mini park based around abandoned factories, or farm.

I think this is the best park you guys have done. There's so many cool things going on. The giant mine stuff with rides that look like machinery, the ride layouts are all really good, ascension didn't turn into a huge disaster despite having the largest hill climb on the planet, moving the fire tower. Someone even lifted the boomgate at the military checkpoint thing

Is that a 4th of July park? Those are always special. My favorite was the year we had the tractor cock ring.

What map should we do for this weekend?
    >>

I can't think of anything too specific myself right now. If possible, a no boundaries/modified version Terror Town if there's any way to extend the map size.
    >>
I could finish up the sewer map but its not really Halloween themed, i think you guys should play something else

Oh neat. I've been wanting to make a map like this but was too lazy to make it actually look good. My only suggestion for this would be to make the flat side of the river green, or the area around the river green.
