What /vr/ PC games are best controlled with a joystick?
Doom.
>>12882831really? not a mouse?
>>12882848that's for tourneyfags and speedruntranniesjoystick is the most fun
>>12882852ok i'll give it a whirl
>>12882816I remember people used these for 3D platformers on PC back then
Any flight game, like TIE Fighter and Descent. Some, you might want to two stick set up.
>>12882816Descent, Forsaken, Freespace or any other 6DOF shooter
>>12882816hardwar perhaps if you can get the damn thing to run
Mechwarrior 4 can be played with two joysticks. One is used for movement and speed control, the other one is for targeting and torso positioning. At first it's hard but then it really starts to add to immersion.
>>12882868Don't. He's trying to trick into using a gamepad next.
>>12882848
>>12883456>"when I created doom"
>>12882816if you don't have a steering wheel, an analog joystick is the next best thing for racing games
>>12882816Any retro flight simWing Commander seriesStar Wars Episode I: RacerDescent seriesMechWarrior 2-4
>>12882816Tie-Fighter and X-Wing Alliance.
>>12883456>when i created doom
>>12882816Terminal Velocity.Fury3.Hellbender.
Doom?!
>>12883456>confirms it wasnt the intended way
>>12884070It's more likely than you think
>>12882868It plays quite well when you you map movement to x and y axis and turning to the twist axis. Good thing you don't need to aim up and down in Doom.
>>12882816X-Wing Alliance doesn't start unless it detects a joystick.
I used to have one of these when I was a kid, I'm not sure what ever happened to it but it was like 25 years ago so whatever.Games I remember playing with it:>Conflict: Freespace>Army Men Air Attack>Microsoft Flight Simulator>B Hunter (I seem to be the only person who's ever heard of this game but it was pretty cool)>some WW2 dogfighting game that I can't remember the name ofI also used to play a load of games with it that weren't suited to it because I was a kid. I remember getting Snes9x and the joystick was basically my only controller aside from the keyboard so I'd play Smash TV multiplayer with my friend.
>>12887141I had one of these, still have it somewhere I think. I hated how uneven and light the base was. Would jiggle all the time
>>12886496Yeah but any gamepad will work if it has an analog stick. Maybe even non-analog ones, I never tried those.
>>12887141>B HunterThis game?https://www.myabandonware.com/game/bounty-hunter-deh
>>12887141>some WW2 dogfighting game that I can't remember the name of
>>12882909better yet three stick set up
>>12882816A lot of them, mainly CH or Thrustmaster TopGun/FCS Compatible sticks, if you owned a suncom f15 stick and throttle, or the TM cougar, even the chicks at school would suck your dick.People had no idea of how huge sims were in the 90's, be console or PC.Also, said sticks works on modern pc's or even dosbox staging, 86box/pcem and so on, but needs some DIY shit.
>>12891920I wish the chinese could copy CH and Suncom
Freespace with force feedback support is the bomb.
>>12894354Just buy a moza ab6
>>12882816>thrustmasterwhat a meme. just get the real thing instead.also, if you didnt use picrel to beat rogue squadron and podracer, you didnt beat the game
>>12895250That doesnt run on modern machines and the gimble... oh god it sucks after a while.
>>12882816x-wing seriessome of them will refuse to launch without it
>>12896926you can play them on mouselook but... is ball era sensitivity
>>12898572vanilla XWA doesn't have mouse steering
>>12882816Il-2 Sturmovik 1946
>>12882816With the latest reverse engineering stuff, pretty much every modern stickwhich i said earlier but now F-117 is now reverse engineered as F-15 SE2Hoping that Fleet Defender as F15 SE3, Strike Commander and Tornado are next.
>>12883635DOS or Windows version?
>>12883561Why do I have a feeling that's someone's fetish.
