Can you bros clear the air for me on this one? I’ve been hung up on this for quite litchrally (footnote: read in a british accent) a couple of years now.

I have seen shiny manip rng stuff and they’re making it set to a specific date, time, frame, etc. If i’m hunting right now on october 31,2026 what if there is no shiny seed guarenteed pid snivy starter for bw2 for this month after lets say 5:30pm which is the time right now? What if the next shiny seed encounter on my secret tid and pid and pussy and ass and balls and all that is literally a random day in march of 2027 on a specific time? Then why am i even attempting to get it right now? I don’t quite understand even how to ASK this question but does anyone know what i mean?

If they can rng manip it so specifically for today at a certain time does that mean if i want to naturally shiny hunt a starter for example then it is a folly because i might miss/have missed my window (for today, meaning its sometime later)?… or something.
    >>
Wow hey a question I can actually answer.

    >If i’m hunting right now on october 31,2026 what if there is no shiny seed guarenteed pid snivy starter for bw2 for this month after lets say 5:30pm which is the time right now?
When hunting the starters people generally find a spread they like, then write down the PID of that Pokemon. Then they do an ID Search in Pokefinder to find a TID and SID that will make Pokemon with that PID shiny. You can restrict the date to only today if you want, you'll probably get results. You'll need to record your console's MAC address, and find the VCount, GxStat, VFrame, and most common Timer0 values. Pokefinder's Profile Calibrator can tell you just about all of these, you'll just need a save in the game to calibrate your console+cart combination, regardless of save.

    >If they can rng manip it so specifically for today at a certain time does that mean if i want to naturally shiny hunt a starter for example then it is a folly because i might miss/have missed my window (for today, meaning its sometime later)?… or something.
If you're trying to hunt via soft resetting you'll be hitting random seeds, which have a 1/8192 chance of landing on a frame that has a PID that matches your TID/SID combo, which will make it shiny. RNG manipulation narrows down these factors to something more predictable and controllable, but there's still an element of randomness to it, especially in BW2.

    There is

unbelievably legit reply. so this file i created today has a chance to hit it TODAY? guarenteed? and if i miss it and i keep going (which i wont know) i just hope to hit it the seed tomorrow? will it keep making them? im confused still but like 67% less than i was
    >>59696666
does it generate another one randomly after 5:31pm after i missed the 5:30 one just by soft resetting?

explain it like i literally have no arms. no limbs, and partial sight in one eye plz bc thats the only way ill get it
    >>

    >so this file i created today has a chance to hit it TODAY? guarenteed?
Without knowing both your Trainer ID and Secret ID I can't tell you what's guaranteed, but yes, there is still a 1/8192 chance of hitting a shiny starter.

    >and if i miss it and i keep going (which i wont know) i just hope to hit it the seed tomorrow? will it keep making them? im confused still but like 67% less than i was
If you're just doing soft resets you'll be hitting entirely random seeds, so you're leaving absolutely everything up to luck. When the game starts up the factors that influence which seed the game will start with include
    >Your console's MAC address
    >Your console type (DS and 3DS have different parameters)
    >Your VCount
    >Your Timer0 (in BW this can randomly be one of two different ones, you need to determine your possible range. In BW2 this can be as little as 2 if you're really lucky or as bad as 20 if you're really unlucky. Usually it's about 6 different ones)
    >Your GxStat
    >Your VFrame
    >The buttons you press as the game starts
    >The date and time
And in once you're in the game frames will advance from your starting seed depending on if there's weather in the area, if NPCs are randomly moving in the area, if you save the game, and if you listen to a Chatot's recorded cry from Chatter. IVs advance from the starting frame when you're in battle, and nobody has any way of controlling that.

For an example here's a screenshot of what someone RNG manipulating would look for. If I can manage to start on the seed "fe0a1382973c8942", which starts at frame 50 (not frame 0), then if I pick up the starter in 4 advances the starter will be shiny. In BW2 there's two NPCs in Aspertia City that randomly move, so on average if you mash the fuck out of the A button to accept a starter as fast as possible the game will average about 4 advances before the Pokemon is generated. Even if you don't know what seed you're on, the game will still start you on one, following this behavior.

if you know all this shit about RNGing to the extent that you're worried about it why won't you just RNG the thing

Hopefully I didn't overload you lol
There's a lot of information to process when it comes to how the RNG works in Pokemon games and how to manipulate it, but once you understand it's a pretty simple and straightforward practice. I agree with >>59696841, and if you want to RNG manipulate it I can help you set things up. This is/was a shiny Tepig I manipulated as my starter for Black2, as proof it works.

what are the odds, through anything convoluted or not to even TRY to manip on a stock non-modded ds + poke cartridge? can one look at that one program and try to hit it accordingly or is it something to inject into a modded ds. beautiful azure btw.

    >what are the odds, through anything convoluted or not to even TRY to manip on a stock non-modded ds + poke cartridge?
Pretty fuckin high. Practically guaranteed within like an hour or two. There's two manipulations here, the TID/SID manipulation (once you get it right you're done), and the starter manipulation. One right after the other. And I'm using a stock DS phat + Black2 cartridge. Mine aren't modded.

    >can one look at that one program and try to hit it accordingly
This, you don't inject anything. It's in timing, and in gen 5 games that timing can be pretty lenient.

If you wanna start you'll just need two programs:
    >Pokefinder by AdmiralFish https://github.com/Admiral-Fish/PokeFinder/releases
    >Eon Timer by DasAmpharos: https://github.com/DasAmpharos/EonTimer/releases
Pokefinder will calculate the seeds you want and when to start, and Eon Timer is a Pokemon-specific stopwatch to help your timing. There's also a web version of Eon Timer https://dasampharos.github.io/EonTimer/ but the PC versions are fancier.

Now I'm curious. Does this work for eggs with or without boosts like shiny charm or mm? How does one go about finding secret ID?
    >>
    >>59696959
    >Does this work for eggs
Works with eggs, but I'm told it's a fool's endeavor to try for egg manipulation in BW2 because there's like 6 randomly-moving NPCs in Route 3, and breeding is postgame anyway. I've done it twice in Black.

    >with or without boosts like shiny charm or mm?
Shiny charm and Masuda Method work by setting a specific range of PIDs as shiny, which increases the odds. So it'll still work without them, it's just not really any different than a regular wild encounter.

    >How does one go about finding secret ID?
In the past you could calculate it if you caught a random shiny, but in gen 5 the most reliable way is to start a new game and manipulate your trainer ID and secret ID at the start. If you don't want to reset your save you can send any Pokemon up to Bank and then to a gen 6/7 game and use the programs KeySAV and KeySAV2 to find the SID from that Pokemon. Doesn't have to be a shiny. Easiest way is to just manipulate it at the start of the game.

Don't tell me you're still using RNG Reporter.

Damn, thanks anyway broski. I'm having issues hatching one shiny so I was curious if there was a faster method. Thanks anyway, probably get tired of explaining stuff to brainlets like myself.
    >>
    >>59696987
Ah, you're already in the postgame. Well best of luck hatching then, shiny charm + MM is probably your best bet.

    >Thanks anyway, probably get tired of explaining stuff to brainlets like myself.
No prob, I'll never tire of explaining this. RNG manipulating is fun as fuck to me because you're not just jumping to the end, you're still actively working for your shinies.
