When Tomioka, Yonemura, or whoever it may be, sat down and plotted where their boy hero should go, what was their thought process?
Perhaps the message is that your dreams are unachievable, and no matter what challenges you complete, no matter how many badges and trophies you are awarded, nothing you do will ever be good enough. You will just have to keep going, wandering aimlessly doing the same things over and over, lying to yourself that this next battle, the next Pokémon you meet, the next time you send Team Rocket blasting off, it will be enough, when you know the only thing that will satisfy you is the sweet release of death.
