Seasons only exist in NYC, anon!

Smarl indu comprany
>>
Because it was either:
- Game Freak not wanting to reuse features from previous to make the next games """unique"""
- Game Freak is lazy and incompetent

Also, kojo (lowercase for disrespect) will try to strawman Sawsbuck out of this.
>>
>>59682587
No one plays a Pokemon game for more than a month. And if anyone does, it's the completionists or hardcore fans.
>>
>>59682587
Its removal cucked the Sawsbuck line
>>
>>59682587
it could work on the upcoming japanese multiregion mmo, given it is updated regularly like a pokemon game should be
>>
>>59682587
Hopefully it'll return one day in a non-Unova remake. I know damn well it'll only be in Unova games, but a girl can hope.
>>
>>59682587
Im mixed on it. On one hand, it was cool. On the other, I do like the permanent spring/summer in all the other games
>>
>>59682602
Turns out that there are, in contrary as to what Reddit want to you think, indeed, Pokemon, that have it worse, than Flygon.

This reminds me, we're approaching the final season cycle before Bank shuts down. Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb is your last chance to do any seasonal stuff.

I remember when they distributed that Cubchoo in Japan, that way you didn't have to wait 4 months for winter. That was really neat.
>>
>>59682665
I'll miss Bank.
>>
>>59682587
It was annoying.
>>
>>59682665
???

The seasons will continue even after Bank shuts down

Better play B2/W2 again because Gen 5 Pokemon are actually missing from the Switch games, at least a good half of them I believe
>>
>>59682591
P-p-preeeeaaaasu understandu, Gameu Freaku isu smarru indie studio with smarru Japaneseu penisu, we no can make good gameu rike yo Amelicanu withu you big Amelicanu penisu, so solly, so vely vely solly forru smarru penisu.
>>
>>59682587
Yep you also could access unique features, pokemon and places during each season. There were rangers hidden under leaf piles in autumn, ponds froze in Icirrus city during winter... And summer and spring were sort of the same but there were flowers around during springtime
>>
>>59682587
>dude let’s make every route look the same show we can show slight palette swaps every month lmao
>also one of the palette swaps is an ugly piss filter lmao
>also let’s force you to wait 3 months to pick up an item lmao

garbage gimmick
>>
>>59682998
it was cool for the first few routes but it lost its charm real quickly because as you mentioned, all the routes look the same.
>>
>>59682587
>sorry but you aren't allowed to collect items and Pokémon for three weeks because it only snows in winter
Seasons should only come back if weather moves can change them
>>
>>59682911
No, like. After those months you can’t transfer any Pokémon that make be exclusive from those seasons.
>>
>>59683059
this is actually kino though, time-based events are awesome and pokemon needs more of them. and i don't even like gen 5, and i still think seasons are a flawed mechanic as mentioned here >>59683050 but time-sensitive content is fucking awesome and we need more
>>
>>59683072
>time-based events are awesome
how
>>
>>59683076
they make the pokemon world a lot more immersive, it really is just that simple
plus it gives you something to look forward to as a player, the whole mentality of "i need everything now" is what's killing your ability to enjoy video games
>>
>>59683080
>they make the pokemon world a lot more immersive
how
>>
Im going to be honest, time based events suck. I hated waiting for a mass outbreak to happen just so I could get the mon I wanted. At least until I found out about the time exploit
>>
>>59683081
because everything in life is time-sensitive, good things come to those who wait and whatnot
>>
>>59682602
I mean it's only really an aesthetical change. It's neat, but it would've been more interesting if it changed typing and movepools depending on the form. And not like Rotom where it only gets ONE (1) move for each form.
>>
>>59682587
>beat the whole game in under a month
>never actually get to see this feature
>>
>>59682602
maybe for a minute, but you can get them in the new games anyway
>>
>>59683091
>because everything in life is time-sensitive,
No it isn't.
>>
>>59682587
These are the kind of nice details you only get when someone who actually cares is in charge. Masuda was that guy for Pokemon and they ran him out of the director's chair *because* he was that guy. His passion got in the way of the rest of the lazy bums collecting their paychecks without having to try very hard.
>>
>>59683178
>only someone who actually cares about pokemon will fill the game with retarded pointless mechanics while removing the actually good mechanics from the previous games
>>
>>59683186
Kek. Immersion and attention to detail is, "pointless" to you. How does GF's boots taste, buddy?
>>
>>59683209
>immersion is when you add shitty chores to your game while not bothering with actual immersive features like following pokemon or customizing your character
>>
>>59683116
literally yes it is. even if it doesn't seem like it, nothing lasts forever
>>
>>59683236
If I want to go play basketball outside I can do it literally whenever I want. I don’t need to wait a month like a retard to go play basketball.
>>
>>59682587
Because they saw how everyone hated Gen 5 so they decided no to include Gen 5 features in later gens
>>
>>59683238
you only have like 60 years to play basketball before you're old and can't anymore
>>
>>59683251
Old people can play basketball.
>>
>>59682587
>4 times the work to develop
>only winter stands out as meaningfully different
>have to wait 3 months just to get an item ball
I liked seasons, but I can understand why they never brought them back.
>>
They could have worked if they changed weekly and some routes were impervious to them.
>>
>>59683256
dead people can't
>>
>>59683291
Dead people can't experience immersion either, retard.
>>
>>59683072
>time-based events are awesome
>>59683080
>they make the pokemon world a lot more immersive
Anon, there's a reason even games that are meant to be immersive don't force the player to use the restroom. At a certain point immersion is a hindrance to good game design.

Waiting a minimum of four months (assuming you already know where everything in the game is) to get specific items or pokemon you want is bad game design. GSC let players easily change the system times so it was actually fine there, but once DPP started outright punishing players for changing the time on THEIR system it crossed the line.

Tldr: there's valid reasons for people to hate it. Maybe if seasons changed each week it would be tolerable but that's a big maybe.

Ingame clock. Also there's a fan application that'll allow for transfers from Gen 1 all the way up to Gen 9 and it has an option of adding a Home tracker.
>>
>>59682587

>>
>>59683095
Ok but what if you started at the end of the month and finished in the next?
>>
>>59683238
But you might have to wait for your friends to be free to play with them, and for the weather to be good.
>>
>>59683582
For the clock or the fan app?
>>
Why is half this thread pretending time skipping doesnt exist?
>>
>>59683723
The fan app. Specifically the one that can gen valid HOME info. I thought that was impossible as GF has a record on their side.
>>
>>59683315
Bodied that freak.
>>
>>59683728
There is none and he's just misunderstanding what things do what. At best people hack in what they want to 'move up' into SwSh/SVand move it from from there where it gets a valid tracker since it originated from that game while changing some data like origin symbol that Home doesn't seem to care about compared to an actual 100% legit pokemon
>>
>>59683741
Aw okay, that's what I figured. Thanks.

Find it funny how it implies the concept of seasons is a Unova thing that nowhere else in the Pokemon world has
>>
>>59682596
You're delusional. Kids play these games over and over. My copy of Diamond (which I never touched as an adult) has like 250 hours on it.
>>
>>59684191
The same kids that play Fortnite 20 hours straight? Yeah, right.

Why was this feature removed?
>>
>>59682587
It was shit
>>
>>59682587
Shit feature for shit games, BW2 better
>>
>>59683741
You could import Pokemon from Home to SwSh before the Home tracker was added to Home meaning it's technically plausible that any Pokemon from pre-Gen 8 can "originate" from SwSh because "oh I imported it back in 2020 and just never put it back into Home, ha ha." This means you can inject valid Gen 3-7 Pokemon into SwSh then send them to Home to get a Home tracker.

BW tried it, and they sold poorly, so Gamefreak never tried again
