Revisiting old games to make a collection of all the original games legendaries, NPC trades, N's pokemon, and so on, I've come to realize that Diamond and Pearl have quite possibly the most expansive obtainable pokemon list of any gen even though they have a bad reputation for limited pokemon available during the main game. Assuming you have a DS lite and all the GBA games to insert into the GBA slot for their wild encounters you can get almost a full Nat Dex natively in Sinnoh, only missing legendaries, starters, and Tangela/Tropius. Gives me a newfound appreciation for Diamond and Pearl. Admittedly that's a high barrier nowadays but back when they were new that's high quality

I have been steadily moving my living dex upwards as I complete each game. I've completed>VC Yellow>VC Crystal>LeafGreen>Sapphire>Emerald>Platinum>HeartGoldAnd I'm finishing up Black now. Just gotta RNG the Swords of Justice, Kyurem, and Tornadus, then RNG perfect IVs for Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, and Victini. I can get Thundurus from Dream Radar, and use it to RNG Landorus in Black. Then it's off to Black 2, and from there completing the Unova dex, then the loooooooooong process of that awful Poke Transfer minigame and touch trading to Black 2 so I can get natdex completion in both games. Then off to gen 6.

Gonna finish X today. All I have left is a handful of easy but time consuming ribbons in OR, the Battle Maison, then catching and getting ribbons in US/UM. Debating if I want to SOS all the alolan forms, the ones I can't mark hunt in SV at a later point, or just say fuck it and be happy with what I have. Really reaching end game here. Probably going to take a break after I get everything in Home, eventually resort my boxes, then work on getting everyone their SwSh, PLA, and SV ribbons. Done two ribbon master run throughs in BDSP before and I keep putting it off every time I get there. Such an ugly, slow game.

This will also apply to Pyroar (reversed genders) and also apply to Ivysaur for you fellow gender difference autists but SV/ZA outbreaks may make it easy to just brute force this. I guess this may also work for Salandit in SOS chaining but there isn't actually a gender difference between M or F Salandit and Salazzle has outbreaks in SV.Also forgot to mention getting a hardy Dunsparce with Serene Grace in gen 3 or 4 is a 50/50 chance of 3-Segment Dudunsparce when transferred up. While syncro isn't guaranteed in Gen 4 it's a fairly easy Poke Radar chain when it's a swarm and as long as you have enough money for a shit ton of repels you can fill a box. Might be better odds than reseting sandwich outbreaks. If anyone has any other neat tips like this let me know.

The RSE and DPPt ribbons are each their own, unique individual ribbons than can only be received in their own games, but after gen 5 (maybe it's 4) they're condensed into a singular 'Contest Memory' ribbon. As you're using an Infernape, it cannot get the golden memory ribbons since it's from gen 4 and you are required to get the gen 3 ones to have the gold version. Personally, I don't care about getting all the ribbons if I can't get the gold, so I skipped all but 1 on anything from gen 4, but the memory ribbon does show the total ribbons achieved before they were condensed. Up to you if you care about that. The ribbons you were thinking about are the ORAS contests + Contest Star ones. ORAS does give the unique opportunity to get contest ribbons on gen 5 and 6 Pokemon, since those can't go to BDSP.

For Gen 4 multis, does the streak reset if I switch to a different game for the second player?I'm at 49 wins, but I'm wondering if I can do the next run with a different game as partner so I can keep the streak going in one cartridge, should things go south.

I had a 56 streak live from last time I did a run through and was using a different second game and it only gave me ribbons on the host Diamond. I guess it would preserve the HG streak if it shows in the PC, but I can't test it for you since I no longer have or at least know where the copy that has the streak active on it is, sorry.
Playing through Ranger for the first time for shiny Manaphy, and maybe it's because I suck and/or have been rushing, but the difficulty has surprised me. Some of the boss encounters have killed me a few times, although others I have immediately cheesed with assists. It also occurs to me that I am very prone to spamming rings rather than waiting, but 90% of the time it seems like the better tactic.What are other people's opinions on its difficulty, do I just suck?

Is there any reason I should heart scale back the moves I replaced with rest/snore in ORAS over Ultra Moon? I already have a ton in gen 7 from the meals and they're just easier to get.
So, after testing with Battle Tower multis in Gen 4, you can get ribbons on the second player's party, provided that game meets the 50+ wins requirement. Both streaks are kept independently, so if one game reaches 50 but the other one doesn't, that other game won't get any ribbons.Also, linking Pearl to HG that had 49 wins produced opponents that used a lot of legendaries, for some reason. This didn't happen when Pearl had 49 wins and connected to Platinum with 0.
