Thanks for the new thread. Starting a black, first response picks my starter.

>>59569038Congrats on the win, and good luck with Platinum!
>>59548831its been like a week since this but i figured id replyhow do you really game encounters for it? I guess it didn't seem like you really can to me but if I'm able to do that I'd be willing to restart the run.Cuz I DO wanna get something I want but I know that's also not really in the spirit of a nuzlocke even if i think it'd be more fun.Anyways having level limits, no items, and limited heals has been fun so far.
Made a few oopsies.I severely underestimated how much damage Archie's Houndoom could do to Mesmer the Politoad. I don't think I've ever even risked a loss against him before, so that really took me by surprise. Got burned on switch in and the burn damage just barely survived two Faint Attacks, and since he still had his koffing in the back they went down together. Then for Clair I thought I was being so clever. Mustard took out Gyarados with a Thunder, then Kingdra came out immediately afterwards. I decided to try and Perish Song it with Nessie, then switch into Alfie to bait a Hydro Pump, switch back and heal Nessie so he'd be at full health for the Dragonairs. It worked the first time, and Nessie killed both Dragonairs. When Kingdra came out again I was pretty sure I couldn't two-shot it with Ice Beam (I was right), and afraid it would land a crit if I had to wear down Clair's two potions so I tried the Perish Song strat again, hoping to save turns. Unfortunately this time it crit Alfie so it ended up being pointless. Not much I could've done to prevent that though, only one who might've survived that at that point was Scizor and I wasn't randomly switching to them.Goodyear the Phanpy will be taking her spot, so I finally have some defense against electric types for the future (and to keep my teamwide immunities going). Next up, time to fight the Kimono Girls and do some legendary stuff before we tackle the E4.>>59569038great job! Well done not getting any casualties!>>59566440RIP boots. Fun to see you're playing with tera types. Funny how plenty of RU mons in your roster seem generally really good for playthroughs.>>59566367True about the Dragonites, it is a problem when you need to switch an ice or water type into them tho. Also Water is just one of those types you always have plenty of options for, since there's plenty and always a few mandatory water routes.
>>59571423I'm gonna use Platinum as my example here. Under the og rules, you're unlikely to get Gible and outright not getting Feebas, two mons that evolve into very good team members. Dupes clause makes it a bit easier for both but you can still end up missing them thanks to encounter rng. Being able to pick which encounter you want boils down to how much restraint the player wants to show instead of working with what you're given, even gaining new appreciation for lines you wouldn't have otherwise had.Again, in spite of what i've said, this is ultimately your run, so don't feel you have to reset, you even said you're having fun, and that's what it comes down to.
This morning I just began my Pokemon Platinum nuzlocke. Was gonna begin yesterday but didn't have time. Here's my current team.>Turtwig>Budew>Starly>Shinx>Kricketot (useless)>ZubatOh and another Zubat I caught in the PC.Pokemon Platinum is my favourite Pokemon game so I'm happy to be doing a nuzlocke of it again. As for how I beat gym leader Roark, it went like this.I had Budew use Absorb to take out both Geodude and Onix, then Budew learned Mega Drain and I had Budew paralys Cranidos with Stun Spore and use Mega Drain, Headbutt nearly killed Budew and I was prepared because Turtwig was gonna be my backup pokemon while Budew would be the sacrifice but I won with no casualties.I think my nuzlocke is going fine so far. Any advice?
>>59571820Rough couple of losses, but at least after the Kimono Girls things will get easier. The grind is gonna take a bit, hope you have a good pokegear rematch spot.
Bump to save thread. Will post later.
Phew, okay, Rock Tunnel is always such a nailbiter in a nuzlocke, even with a team as stacked as this. I made it through with no losses and now I'm chilling at Lavender Town. I still haven't healed at the Pokemon center and plan on teleporting back to the center in front of Rock Tunnel after beating Erika, getting, the Silph Scope, and receiving the Pokemon Flute. It's quite the wait until a center heal, but I think with marts I'll be okay. I guess I'll use this opportunity to ask an open-ended question that I've had on my mind for a while now in my nuzlocke. Do you guys consider it cheating or too easy to use a wiki to see all the trainers teams on a route or dungeon beforehand? Like, I've been doing so and did with Rock Tunnel here since I was really afraid of the Hiker's exploding Geodudes but couldn't remember which ones had self-destructing pokes. It definitely made the whole thing way easier and I feel a little bit dirty about it. Not sure, I want to pull back on using it for every new area and fight, but the fear of losing mons to something just because I forgot a rogue scary poke somewhere is keeping me from it. Should I stop being a wuss about this and continue the rest of it as blind as possible with just memory to go off, or is having a guide in front of you just to see the data beforehand a little to much of a convenience?
>>59575960tl;dr on the question part: Do you consider the use of guides (bulbapedia/serebii) while going through routes for trainer pokemon cheating/in bad faith to a nuzlocke challenge? Should I do so going forward or go as blind as possible. (I know its ultimately up to me, but that's not what I'm asking...)
>>59575982Not really. If that's the case then it's cheating to know what pokemon the trainer uses. For example I know the trainer before Eterna Forest has a Piplup.
Here's my progress today. My current team is this.>Grotle>Staravia>Luxio>Budew>Meditite>GeodudeI put Kricketot in the reserves and I also caught a Buneary in Eterna Forest which is also in the reserves. I've decided that for areas where the game forces you to team up with someone don't count for encounters until after they are no longer teamed up with you because you always encounter two pokemon and there's a good chance your teammate could kill a pokemon your trying to catch. Eterna Forest makes you team up with Cheryl so much waited until I was done with her.I unfortunately lost my two Zubats, they where sacrifices and I think I'm done with Zubats for now since I had a Crobat on my last Johto and Hoenn team. I have not beaten Gardenia yet but I beat Team Galactics Commanders Mars using Turtwig who had learned Rock Smash which sucks because I don't like teaching starter pokemon HMs but I had no choice.Any advice for Gardenia?
>>59576322Gardenia shouldn't be a problem with Staravia. Does Luxio have Intimidate? Double Intimidate is pretty strong and you'll probably need it for Jupiter and her Skuntank.
>>59577317Nope, Luxio has Rivalry and your right that I should be mote worried about Jupiter than Gardenia.
>>59575982I personally consider it fine, but my own playstyle is extreme caution. It's not so far removed from looking up gym leader teams, but i can see someone preferring to be surprised on routes.
>>59577726That's a shame, but Luxray will still be good on your team. Hopefully you get past Jupiter without too much trouble.
Alright I'm too tired to play today so I won't be updating today obviously. But I have a fun story to share.I went to a Italian restaurant near me and a tiny little Finch somehow entered. It was so cute and it finally left.
>>59563003TLDR: SP works… mostly. I’d love to do some runs but I don’t have time.in-depth blog: I cleaned the power switch with 90% isopropyl alcohol, as recommended, but it didn’t work at all the first time. (pic related: I couldn’t get it 100% clean but I got a lot of the grime out.) I had to bend the metal pin under the plastic switch to make sure it made contact with the metal plating. Then, flux somehow got into the power switch and made it very difficult to flip. I tried soaking the switch with more 90% isopropyl alcohol so it would seep in, and kept moving the switch back and forth. Now the issue is that it doesn’t turn on for the first few attempts, and sometimes turns on but not if the power switch is flipped all the way? It usually works normally when it finally turns on, but today it randomly reset on me and I lost a lot of progress in a non-Pokémon game Megaman Zero 4. I could do LeafGreen attempts but I’d rather Sapphire, which I’ve yet to replace the battery for. I don’t have much free time as I’m going to be super busy because I’m basically moving out… probably. (If you’re wondering why I can play games but not change the battery, it’s because I can only solder during a select few hours due to reasons.)
Beat Gardenia and Jupiter today. Here's my current team.>Grotle>Luxio>Staravia>Geodude>Ponyta>GibleI also caught a Ghastly today but I lost Meditite and Buneary.Gardenia was easy, I just had Staravia take out her first two pokemon with Wing Attack but then I was a little bit scared of what her Roserade would do so I sacrificed Meditite just to heal Staravia. Against Jupiter, I used Geodude first and used Magnitude to deal some damage to her Skuntank but Night Slash nearly killed, I was gonna send out Staravia first to intimidate and lower it's attack but I wanted Staravia to attack first so I sacrificed Buneary. Staravia did managed to take out Skuntank though.Alright with that out of the way, any advice for Fantina?
Fuck this game. I've lost 6 pokemon today. My current team is this.>Grotle>Luxio>Ghastly>Togepi Egg>Eevee>BibarelSo unfortunately I lost Staravia to a trainers Misdreavious who used Pain Split and then Psybeam which ruined things because I planned on using Staravia against Fantina. Then I beat Fantina but here's how it went. My plan was to have Staravia and Luxio do the job, Staravia being immune and the highest level pokemon while Luxios Bite would also help. Because I lost Staravia however, I had to resort to just using Luxio. First I had Luxio use Bite on Duskull to which Duskull used Future Sight, I couldn't afford to have Luxio take damage so I switched out to Budew who took tried to use Stun Spore, missed, got hit with a Future Sight, Shadow Sneak and of course burnt from Will O Wisp killing Budew. Luxio cake out though and finished off Duskull. Then came Mismagius and this is we're things got fucked. Luxio use Bite but it was difficult as Confuse Ray happened and I had no way to heal confusion aside from switch, I kept switching to multiple pokemon to heal Luxio with potions and it's confusion, during this time I lost both Gible, Geodude and Ponyta but those sacrifices had to be made, then I switched to Grotle thinking that was gonna have to be sacrificed too or that I was just gonna lose my nuzlocke but Grotle managed to survive and used Bite a few times to eventually kill Mismagius. Haunter was easy as Bite from Grotle dealt with it but I've lost four pokemon in one battle all because Staravia died before.I also lost Kricketot if that matters.Any advice for Maylene? And how can I fix my team with some good pokemon to catch?
>>59583641Ouch. They made Fantina super rough in Platinum, but the encounters open up after her at least. If you haven't gotten either encounter around Mt. Coronet you should be able to get Bronzor easily, and if it has Levitate it'll be one of the best tanks you can get. Polygon is in Veilstone, and Houndour is before the resort. Grotle evolves at level 32, which is Maylene's level cap, but Gastly will probably get one shot thanks to its low defenses.
>>59583641My condolences.Buy Reflect at the Pokemart if you can fit it in. Or use Charm from Togetic. A Wingull evolves into Pelliper at lev 25, which would be great against fighting gym with rock moves.
>>59584759>>59584851Thanks. I cannot catch a Bronzor at Mt Coronet but I do have some other chances. There's Zubat at Celestic Tower and I could get Wingull. I'm thinking of completing the entire routes that go from Hearthome City to Veilstone city, then Pastoria city and then back to Hearthome if you know what I mean before the fighting type gym. Luckily enough I'm not limited to level caps. Other possibilities is Girafarig I guess. We will have to see what I get.
Fuck. Today has been exhausting. My current team is literally just this.>Grotle>Porygon 2And I got two pokemon in the daycare.>Ghastly>BibarelSo unfortunately I lost my Luxio to a Heracross knowing Counter, normally I would have Staravia take it out but nope. Then worst comes, I lose four fucking pokemon to a Driftblim, the Togepi that just hatched from an egg, a new Staravia and new Ponyta and caught and even my Eevee I was planning on evolving into an Espeon. These four pokemon, this is it. I'm at Veilstone City but I know I do not stand a chance against Maylene yet, I'm gonna do the routes in between Veilstone City and Pastoria city and then do the long swamp route before I even think of taking on Maylene, I might try and get a Girafarig or a Wingull or something. How fucked am I though? Do i have a chance of recovering?
>>59585656You can still salvage things, you just have to be careful. Get what encounters you can, go to a lower level route and train them up with the EXP Share and Vs Seeker. As soon as you can use Surf in the overworld go to the Valley Windworks and surf behind the building for the Thunderbolt TM for Porygon.
How do I deal with encounters in gen 9 when doing a nuzlocke challenge? Do I just catch the first thing I see in the overworld?
>>59586829You can put the encounter table for whatever you define as a route into an rng wheel and spin it for your encounter.
Bump.
>>59586829You can use the tera raids as a random encounter.
>>59586829First thing you bump into.
I lost my starter. My current team.>Porygon 2>ChatotAnd in the daycare levelling up.>Bibarel>GhastlyThat's it. I lost my starter Grotle to a fucking Goldeens Horn Drill, that's the first time that's ever happened to me and I hate it. I also lost a Rhyhorn I caught today. It's been very slow too, i barely made any progress. Literally all I did was make it to Pastoria City. I hope the Great Marsh and the Swamps can give me a good pokemon. I need a grassy type replacement. I want a Tropius, Carnivine or a Tangela. Is Porygon 2 and Chatot good enough for Maylene?
>>59588864>Horn DrillRough. Just this morning I lost my beloved Noctowl when switching into Horn Drill from the Rhyhorn at the end of Nugget Bridge in SoulSilver. I'd switched out of Ampharos expecting a ground-type move... and the worst part is, my Noctowl was at the same level as Rhyhorn, so if I'd trained even a little more it would've shrugged it off.I'm down to Meganium, Nidoking, and Ampharos in terms of good mons right now... time for another training arc once I decide what I'm gonna use from my boxes. Might use my Celadon encounter to purchase a Porygon with all the Voltorb Flip points I painstakingly earned. I also lucked into getting a Cubone in Rock Tunnel, but its IVs aren't the best and it's Modest... I can still make it work, I think. I feel it lessens the sacrifice of my fallen Pokémon to use another of the same species, so I'm keeping my Red Gyarados, Graveler, and Golbat boxed, but I still have my Eevee and Togepi sitting around.
>>59588864>Is Porygon 2 and Chatot good enough for Maylene?Check on kinglercalc, her set is on there. I think you should stop relying on 2 pokemon against teams of 3, I feel you need to utilize all your pokemon more, though not to the extent that you waste so many moves that you get crit. Idk, how are they gonna take down two fighters plus Lucario? Wish you luck on getting another flyer, sorry bout Grotle, sucks to lose a starter. Losing your fire types from before suck too. If you are doing no repeats, I think you can get a Houndour 100% at night
>>59589441Too late for me to get a Houndour. I already did the route it's found in. Unfortunately I played in the day time so my encounter was a Rhyhorn. I never knew it could only be found at night. My only hope for a fire type now is Magmar and I could just end up catching a Magnemite or a Floatzel.
>patrat>lilipup>that fucking cat>shit ass monke>all money wasted just for repels so i can guarantee excadrillI LOVE POKEMON BLACK I LOVE POKEMON BLACK
>>59590397I hate gen 5s early game.
We are so back bitches. My current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Bibarel>Fucking Gengar>GastrodonI also have a Roselia in the daycare.Today has been great. No major battles won but I think I can do this. I managed to restore my team, I now have a Gengar which is my first time owning one and a Gastrodon too. I did catch Wooper though I lost it and I was desperate for a Tangela in the Great Marsh. Oh well. I'm still worried about Crasher Wake but I'm confident I can take on Maylene.
>>59590632There you go, that's why you don't throw in the towel. Team is looking good, good luck against Matlene and Wake!
>>59590397Sinnoh's early game is just as repetitive with its early game encounters, but at least most of them end up good at the worst. BW1 really want you to learn about type advantage though.
>>59566440Continuing my RU restricted randomizer random ability blind playthrough of Scarlet.Things went pretty well until they didn't after beating the last gym. I had enough money to get optimizing nature mints for all my pokemonOrtega was delt with mostly by Torterra until his Starmobile. I swapped to Dusknoir who chipped it a ton while eating sitrus berries until I could switch in Articuno to Sharp Beak Hurricane it.Eri's fight was a complete joke. I got the metronome item from the delibird store and just spammed hurricane with Articuno, one shot everything and had a base power of 200 by the time her starmobile came out and it got OHKO too. Then for the final Titan, Torterra deleted the 2 giant Dondozos, but the actual fight with Tatsugiri was horrible RNG. I got a +1 off of its Icy Wind due to Wind Rider, but then it just started spaming muddy water with accuracy drops every time, and both I and Arven missed everything for 3 turns. Finally got off a bullet seed getting it down to 25% HP, but Torterra couldn't take another hit. Switched to Dusknoir and just thunderpunch chip it to death while eating sitrus berries. Then we get to the league, and I thought I had everything planned out.Articuno lead against Rika, deleting Whiscash. Then she send out Donphan, who had sturdy and Stone Edge, so I u-turned out for Passimian. Earthquaked it. Then Camerupt tried to fire blast me and activated Passimian's Well-baked body, giving me +2 defense. Passimian proceeded to drain and Earthquake Dugtrio/ClodsirePoppy was a little scary at the end. Passimian deleted Copperajah, then came Corviknight. U-turned out to let Dusknoir take the hit and chip it to death while spamming fire punch. He then chipped Bronzong to death as well. Switched to Torterra to absorb the Magnzone's discharge and earthquaked it. Finally, tera-steel Tinkaton's Gigaton hammer brought Torterra down to 3HP, but killed back with EarthquakeLarry never stood a chance. Metronome Freeze-dry articuno
>>59593887Hassel left me with a dangeous choice I paid for. His lead Noivern outsped and super fanged Articuno to 50% HP. Meternome Freeze Dry delete all of his mon until Baxcalibur. Even with 125BP + STAB, I didn't believe could OHKO and would die to Tera-Dragon Glaive Rush. So I U-turned into Dusknoir, hoping to survive, cud chew sitrus berries, and make an opening. Unfotunately, that Tera-Dragon Glaive Rush crit and OHKO Dusknoir on the spot. I then sent in Power Spot Slaking, thinking its drain punch would OHKO due to glaive Rush, but it survived it 1 pixel. And then it crit AGAIN leaving Slaking with 10HP. Another Drain Punch and it was over.I lost my greatest pivot mon, my anchor, my chip-damage king, Dusknoir. Finally it was time for Geeta and holy shit, she is the worst champion in any game. I wanted to make the thing go full circle so I made it to where, despite having a 1 level gap, Passimian would solo her whole team.Shifted around my party members so Beat-Up would have a 105 due to being based on base attack stats. He beat up Espathra and Veluza, itemless Acrobatics OHKO Gogoat, and then close combated Avalugg, Kingambit, and Glimmora easily.Won the league with my randomized starter! Now I have all the post-game/Area Zero, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy to run through. I think i'll give myself 2 more catches each of thoseFirst two gets are!>Mycelium Might Cacnea>Electric Terrain DollivOnwards to Aera Zero!
>>59593898Fuck I meant to put HADRON ENGINE Dolliv. I think this thing is gonna go hard AF.
>>59590397I've learned to appreciate Unova's early Field pokemon cause it's like the only gen where you're forced to used them (other than HM slaves). They have very good abilities for the stuff you fight against early on, and they have a pretty diverse out movepool. >Patrat has detect (for stalling), keen eye (no accuracy drops), leer (-1 def), sand attack (-1 accuracy), and hypnosis>Purrloin has limber or unburden (so good with oran/chesto berry), resists common early dark moves, growl (-1 atk), thief (berry farming)>lilipup gets vital spirit (can't sleep) or anti-sandstorm ability, leer (-1 def), intimidate (-1 atk on switch in) upon evolution >Pidove (flying not field) has growl (-1 atk), leer (-1 def), roost, keen eye>Monkies get leer (-1 def), i think sand attack?, yawn or leech seed or scald>Munna gets some sleep move>Audino gets regenerator(!!), growl, attractTon of tactics to play around with. Excadrill is like the best pokemon of the game, so it seems pretty fair that the cost of of getting one is higher. Healer audino sucks but 50% chance is a nice risk cause it still gets you through the first gym w/o the monkey (and nobody needs munna), and purrloin can use cut too. And all that money you used for repels could've been used for daycare leveling up, buying TMs, or (if you allow yourself to use them) potions.
>Vs Giovanni (Rocket Hideout)>OnixOnix misses a Rock Throw, and Ameline oneshots Onix with Water Pulse.>RhyhornIt also falls to Water Pulse.Ameline gets to Level 29.>KangaskhanIt misses a Mega Punch, and Ameline hits back with Return.Next turn, Kangaskhan uses Tail Whip and Ameline Disables it.I switch in Brunelca on a Mega Punch. She eats another one, then ends the fight with Revenge.
>>59595029This next fight ended up going my way so hard I didn't have to use the Poisoned Guts Machamp...>Vs Erika>VictreebelKey hits Victreebel with an Ember, and it misses a Stun Spore. Another Ember knocks it out.>TangelaIt falls to Ember.Key reaches Level 31.>VileplumeKey hits it with Ember before getting Stun Spore'd. Cheri Berry removes the paralysis.Another Ember, and Vileplume misses Stun Spore.Erika uses a Hyper Potion, and I just use Ember again.Another Ember and another Stun Spore Miss, and then yet another Ember ends the battle.
Alright I have just beaten two gym leaders today. Here is my current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>RoseliaHere's how I beat Maylene. First I had Gengar take out Meditite with Shadow Ball, then Porygon 2 came out and took out Machoke instantly with Psybeam but Chatot struggled to take out Lucario with Chatter and Force Palm did alot of damage, so I could switch out to Bibarel and make a sacrifice so Porygon 2 or Gastrodon go first but then I remember Gengar is immune to fighting so I send Gengar out first and Force Palm those no damage, then two more Shadow Balls and Lucario is down. And how I beat Wake.First I had Roselia set up Toxic Spikes while his Gyarados used Bite but got poisoned, Bite did alot of damage so I switched out to Gastrodon to use Body Slam and while the poison helped and did its work, Waterfall did alot of damage so I switched to Bibarel who somehow managed to tank Waterfall and use Hyper Fang, his Gyarados was annoying but it eventually died. His Floatzel was annoying but it got poisoned which helped and Porygon 2 defeated it with Psybeam. Finally Roselia just used Giga Drain on his Quagsire and took it out instantly.Other than that, I did lose my HM slave Bibarel unfortunately, to those two Ace Trainers with the Gyarados and Raichu.Alright with that being said, any advice for the next gym leader Byron?
>>59594085The real utility of Audino is that if you're playing with dupes clause, and pretty much everyone does, you can guarantee specific Pokemon later, namely Throh/Sawk or Musharna.
>>59595222Gastrodon should handle Byron easily, just give it Earthquake and Surf, just watch out for Metal Burst. Also remember to get the Thunderbolt TM behind Valley Windworks once you get Surf.
>>59595680Jesus, waiting for a 1/20 and rustling grass is too long, and using Sawk/Throh for Lenora isn't as fun either. Obviously anyone can play how they want, but it's definitely a no for me.
>>59596744Yeah, i will. I think you get Surf after beating Cyrus in Celestic Town.
Today has been mundane but I now have a full team again. My team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>Roselia>Riolu.No gym battles done today but I got the Riolu egg in Iron Island, gonna train him up to help take on the fighting type gym and I will also have a counter for the ice type gym later. Still confident about Byron as I have Gastrodon but it can't help to have two pokemon. On another note, I'm gonna try and go to Iron Island to get Magnemite hopefully as I need an electric type but if not I'll just teach Porygon 2 Thundershock.
>>59596800You can usually get sawk or throh while grinding anyway. By then you've got like 6 Pokemon you can train up. Or you get Timburr, he still trivializes Lenora. Lenora isn't a super interesting right I'd feel bad about trivializing. You can even just use roggenrola.
>>59597566? You can't start grinding w/o interacting with a pokemon first, which defeats the point of trying to get a sawk/throh? There's a 40% chance you get a Tympole over the 10% sawk/throh. If you grind, you aren't guarenteeing it as you mentioned before. Rogg is good too but only 50% against Woobat, Nothing easy is guaranteed, but I honestly like that. Thunder wave and flame charge Blitzle is great too.
>>59597619You already have Audino in this scenario so as long as you keep hitting rustling spots there's no chance of hitting a Pokemon you haven't seen other than sawk/throh
>>59570391Took me a few days but I finally got a chance to start it up. Chili FUCKED ME UP, I was super lucky to keep the team alive. I totally forgot about incinerate burning away berries, wasted 2 of the orans Cheren gave me.
>>59597804you were able to win without sacrificing anyone? Impressive!
>>59597804Be careful when you make it to Lenora and you don't have a fighting type.
>>59597673Oh, farm the rustling, i see>>59597804sick, just use thief on a rustling grass audino to get the oran berries back. Purrloin or woobat can use the tm. Maybe you'll get a sitrus (i got it, like, once)
>>59595077Typical Grass gym experience. Kinda always feels like Grass gets the short end of the gym experience thanks to early game encounters always countering it. Regardless, we love to see smooth wins. Do you always keep Machamp poisoned, or go out of your way to apply it for certain battles?
Here's what happened tonight. My current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>Roserade>Riolu.Pokemon at the daycare>Magnemite>GirafarigI evolved Roselia into Roserade and still grinding Riolu. I also caught a Magnemite and I'm thinking of replacing Chatot.
>>59599686>Do you always keep Machamp poisoned, or go out of your way to apply it for certain battles?I just do it at times. In this case I just didn't have great answer to this gym assuming Charmeleon got properly shut down, so having a poisoned Guts Champ in the back was just to make sure things didn't go badly.
>>59597804Some close calls, but good work! Lenora will be just as close without the right encounters, so be prepared for Retaliate. Also, where's your Panpour?
>>59598850Thanks for this idea with thief, just ended up with a woobat and this is going to be huge.
Beaten the sixth gym leader Byron today. My current team.>Lucario.>Gastrodon>Gengar>Chatot>Porygon 2>RoseradeAt the daycare.>Cherubi>MagnetonIn the reserves.>GirafarigToday I managed to beat the gym leader of Canada very City Byron and it's definitely agreed upon that he's one of the easiest gym leaders ever. Gastrodon took out his Magneton with Mud Bomb and Steelix with Surf while Lucario used one Aura Sphere too take out his Bastiodon. No damage taken and all his pokemon went down in one hit.I also dealt with Team Galactic at the lakes and caught a Cherubi at Floaroma Meadows.Any advice for the ice type gym leader Candice?
>>59600554Grabbed Audino in route 3, then backtracked and grabbed Musharna from Dreamyard. Right now the team is:Herdier, Snivvy, Woobat, Audino, Patrat, and Musharna. I'll probably get Throh from outside Pinwheel but I'm not sure yet, considering gambling inside pinwheel instead. My gameplan for Lenora is getting Patrat up to Watchog, using detect when she swaps in Watchog and hits retaliate, then hitting bide and praying. If my Watchog dies I'm not going to be devastated.
>>59600847If you're lucky enough to get compound eyes joltik at chargestone in the second half, it's pretty worth it to farm for sitrus berries too. I just run a bike around the route outside the day care/the cave you get woobat cause they're low lev, lots of biking space, and 100% audino in rustling grass. 1/5 for sitrus, and 3/5 for oran I think is the probabilities instead of 1/20 and 1/2, respectively. With thief, you also get all the status healing berries easily too, just look up a list of pokemon hold items. Compound eyes, Frisk (only black), and Thief are a great combo.
>>59600848Glad your run is good again. Depending on your stats, Lucario could maybe take on fast sneasal, slow piloswine, and slow abamasnow, but you'd have to check. Probably at least the first two, maybe use a swords dance. Gengar and magneton can probably take the rest.>>59600854Remember to use the chestos for watchog. A healthy audino can also tank hits, and attract and servine's leech seed (and leer maybe) is pretty great against herdier, better with regenerator. Growl on audino might help to swap into your own watchog if you are doing set mode. You should look up if your watchog can survive like two hits from Lenora, and to see if yours will outspeed hers, but using bide doesn't seem bad. Your swoobat (evolves by friendship, very nice) can probably outspeed her and get the revenge kill. An intimidate herdier is always helpful if you have one. Lenora is only bad without good prep (or a bad crit).
>>59595077Vs Koichi in the Fighting Dojo>Hitmonlee>HitmonchanZynx oneshots both with Psychic.
>>59602001Woah, that was a pretty dangerous fight anon. What's the plan now thay you've conquered the Fighting Dojo?
>>59602536It was to try to catch as many different mons as possible on routes I haven't yet(and evolve a few) so I can get things from Prof Oak's aides.Done with that so I'm gonna do Silph next.
I've just beaten the seventh gym leader Candice. My team.>Magnezone.>Lucario>Gastrodon>Roserade>Porygon 2>GengarIn the PC.>Girafarig>Snover>SwinubIn the daycare>Chatot>CherubiToday has been great, I replace Chatot with Magnemite and evolved Magnemite into Magneton and then Magnezone. I also caught Snover and Swinub on the way to Snowpoint City.As for how I beat Candice. First Lucario took out Sneasel with Aura Sphere though Aerial Ace did do some damage, next Gastrodon took out Piloswine with Surf but was nearly killed by both Avalanche and then a Earthquake, Lucario quickly took out Abomasnow with Close Combat but Abomasnow already activated Hail which meant her Frosslass had become evasive along with Candice spamming Double Team. The good news is I had Magnezone who used Lock On before attacking every turn ensuring the attacks hit, now hail did deal damage to Magnezone and a powerful Blizzard did nearly kill it but with enough Magnet Bombs and Discharge, Frosslass was taken out. So the whole battle was planned out.Any advice for dealing with Team Galactics base?
>>59601734Thanks. I never was gonna use Gengar against Frosslass though. The plan was to have Magnezone use Lock On.
>>59603076damn havent been here since feb, glad to see you still going connor
>>59604274What do you mean?
>>59602799Always a good idea to get what items you can. Hope Silpo Co goes well!
Did all of Team Galactics HQ. Now I'm going to do Mt Coronet tomorrow. Here is my team.>Porygon Z>Magnezone>Lucario>Gengar>Roserade>GastrodonBack up pokemon are Cherubi, Chatot, Girafarig, Snover and Swinub. Today I did Team Galactics HQ and I evolved Porygon 2 into Porygon Z. I am winning but I fear Mt Coronet.Any advice for the final Cyrus fight? Because that fight is difficult.
>>59602001Vs Silph Co. Giovanni>NidorinoZynx hits it with Psychic.>RhyhornIt falls to Ice Punch.>KangaskhanI swap in Brunelca on Tail Whip. Kangaskhan Rages, but falls to Revenge.>NidoqueenIt uses Poison Sting on Brunelca, who uses Dig.Nidoqueen then misses a Double Kick and takes a little bit less than half from the Dig.Nidoqueen hits a Double Kick as Brunelca Digs down again, only to miss one before getting hit by the Dig.Another Poison Sting successfully poisons Brunelca as she Digs, but this just means the Dig is even more sure to KO. Another missed Double Kick, and Nidoqueen falls.
>>59605587Lucario may or may not outspeed & 1HKO Houndoom. Really make sure else Flamethrower will fuck it up. Your gastrodon could do it in like 2 hits or maybe less, and take less damage though, so maybe consider that, but do look it up in a calc to make sure.Electric/Rock moves you definitely need. But Magnezone probably gets 1HKO by Earthquake Intimidate Gyarados who outspeeds it. The fact that Sturdy doesn't work in gen 4 sucks balls. Gengar may be super useful here since it's got Levitate and immune to Giga Impact. This may be where you use your Thunderbolt TM on Gengar. A crit from his Waterfall will kill though, so ideally Thunderbolt Gengar needs to be strong enough to make the 1HKO. Or you can use some Thunder Wave strategy and let one of your less useful pokemon die so Magnezone gets the kill. Or, have a Shell Bell on like Porygon Z, and use Discharge if you don't see a 1HKO on Gyarados.Lucario takes Weavile even though it'll get 1 hit in on you, and Magnezone destroys Crobat, though a Confuse ray is a lil annoying so berry right (be sure you're okay with using this as the hold item instead of something else). Honchkrow has Heat Wave, but it only kills Magnezone on a crit.Take your time thinking about this one and using a calc. A badly placed crit sucks and you lose a team player.
>>59605853Vs Koga>Koffing>Muk>Koffing>WeezingZynx just spams Psychic and beats all of them in one blow.
>>59606878>Vs Sabrina>KadabraAlvince sets up Light Screen as Kadabra uses Future Sight.Thunderbolt gets the oneshot.>Mr. MimeThunderbolt does over half and it uses Barrier. It then falls to another Thunderbolt.Future Sight hits at some point.>VenomothAlvince uses Thunder Wave, and Venomoth uses Psybeam. Light Screen fades.Sabrina uses a Full Heal as Alvince sets up a new Screen. Two Thunderbolts later(with a Psybeam inbetween) Venomoth falls.>AlakazamAlvince paralyzes it with Thunder Wave, but Synchronize turns it back on Alvince as well. Alakazam sets up a Calm Mind.I switch in Ameline on another Calm Mind, and Light Screen fades.Shadow Ball oneshots Alakazam.
I'm relatively early in my Leaf Green run (3 gym badges) and I just lost Mankey to a fluke encounter in the Rock Tunnel so I have an open slot. Any suggestions? I was thinking about maybe picking up a Vulpix as a counter for Erika, but my Butterfree probably also has that covered, since he's going to learn Gust at some point and he's also got Confusion to dominate all the grass/poison types in that gym. Another option could be to go for a Jolteon, IIRC I'm going to get an Evee at some point in Celadon and I haven't used my Shockwave TM.
Lenora was a pushover, I think I grinded a little too much. Caught Throh in my first rustling patch outside pinwheel. Herdier to attract/double slap Audino and me not paying much attention while grinding. Onto pinwheel proper I guess, I don't think there's going to be much challenge in the forest, burgh later on might a pain in the ass though. I'll get swoobat and rely on gust I think?
>>59607018Herdier died**
>>59606146Thanks man. This is gonna be really stressful.
>>59606990Jolteon would be a good pick, it can get Thunderbolt from the game corner once you have enough coins. Erika probably won't be so bad, but it wouldn't hurt to be prepared for Stun Spore.
>>59607018Yeah with sawk/throh, Lenora is nothing unless she crits you
Today I finally defeated Team Galactic and beat there leader Cyrus. My current team is the pokemon you see in the image. The backup pokemon are the ones I've already mentioned but I did catch a Girantina in the Disortion World.I managed to do all of Mt Coronet and take down Tean Galactic. As for my Cyrus battle, here's how it went down.So first I had Gastrodon take out Houndoom with Surf, Will o Wisp was a pain in the ass to deal with though, then Porygon Zs take out Gyarados with Discharge, next came Honchkrow who was taken out by Magnezones Discharge, now Heatwave did nearly kill Magnezone but Discharge paralysed Honchkrow and slowed it down allowing me to get the next hit in, Lucario took out Weavile with Aura Sphere and Gengar took put Crobat with Shadow Ball.Any advice for the final gym leader Volkner?
>>59607719Yeah I think Burgh might be a bigger deal, I'm not sure I have a great answer to bug Pokemon. Swoobat kinda sucks.
>>59608416Swoobat destroys leavanny? Musharna for whirlipede and throh for dewbble. Or luck into a darumaka in the desert
>>59608929I'm mostly worried about getting swoobat into the fight
This cotton puff has been far better than I have been giving it credit for. A great lead and set up pokemon
>>59609519Puff is great, definitely underrated and can elevate a mid team.
>>59609519Jumpluff is an exceptional nuzlocke mon in almost every game it is in. Fast Stun Spore, Sleep Powder and Leech Seed is all it ever needs to help any squad.
>>59608200Smooth Cyrus fights with no losses are the best, good work! Usually Volknet is solved by a speedy Earthquake user, but Gastrodon isn't speedy. It'll still nullify Electric type moves, but he's got Focus Blast, Giga Impact, and the elemental punches/fangs to worry about too.
Beaten all 8 gym leaders. Here is my current team. No new pokemon.I beat the 8th gym leader Volkner pretty easily. I had Roserade use Toxic Spikes so that the rest of his pokemon would be poisoned, then useful Giga Drain to heal and take out Jolteon with Petal Dance. The rest of his three, Luxray, Electivire and Raichu were taken out by Gastrodon using Mud Bomb. The poisoned helped too though.Any advice for Victory Road?
>>59606898Nice work with the double tap of gyms! I don't think anything left before Victory Road will give you too much trouble, but still a good idea to stay on guard.
>>59612196I honestly think the biggest challenge before the league might be Blaine, who is usually easy. I don't have the water type I usually do.Machamp ought to be good but Fire Blast is strong. My only Fire Resist is Charizard, who at best will be using Dig to hit Fire-types until I beat Giovanni.
>>59570269Shit boys, I’m an oldfag and I’ve never gotten to post in this general all this time just cuz I never do Nuzlockes. Heart & Soul rom made it simple so I figured what the hey. I did randomize wild pokemon no legendaries, kept all the trainers and gym leaders and such the same. This is only the third Nuz I’ve ever beaten.I lost 4 mons along the way, culminating in the devastating loss of my Starmie in this last battle vs Red. RIP Navidad, your Surfs and Psychics were invaluable. All in all, had a great time, loved my team. Puncho was an amazing starter who stayed with me through the very end, lucked out with a Thick Club for Big Bonus, super stressful though. I’ll try another one of these sometime with a harder hack.
Victory Road done. Here is my final team. No new encounters. This is the team I'm bringing to the Elite Four and Champion. I did nearly lose pokemon to the final rival battle with Barry. Here's how I beat him. Porygon Z took out Staraptor with Discharge but nearly fell to Close Combat and Gengar took out Heracross with Shadow Ball but nearly fell to Night Slash, Magnezone used Discharge on Floatzel but nearly fell to Brick Break and even Gastrodon nearly fell to Infernapes Focus Blast but still won with Surf. His Roserade came out next, I sent out my Roserade just to heal Porygon Z and then have Porygon Z use Psybeam and finally Lucario used Close Combat on his Snorlax and was the only pokemon not to take damage. It was stressful.Any advice for the elite four of Sinnoh and the Champion Cynthia?
>>59606898>Vs Blaine>GrowlitheAlvince oneshots it with Thunderbolt.>PonytaIt lives a Thunderbolt on a sliver and hits back with Fire Blast.I set up Light Screen as Blaine uses a Hyper Potion.A better Thunderbolt roll gets the OHKO.>RapidashAlvince takes it out in two Thunderbolts with a Stomp inbetween.>ArcanineI send in Key on a Take Down, then score a Dig Crit for the oneshot.
>>59613138Cynthia's team is ten levels above you, gotta get that grind going. You do that, i think only Lucian will be a threat to you, the others should fall to level difference easy enough.
>>59612420Congrats on the win! Shame about Starmie, it always sucks to lose a team member right at the end, but wishing you luck for whatever your next run is!
>>59613261Even without a Water type Blaine fell pretty easily.Let's hope that Giovanni is just as easy.
>>59613261After remembering Giovanni's only mon over Level 45 is a weak Rhyhorn, I decided against using my Jynx.>Vs Giovanni>RhyhornIt falls to a singular Giga Drain from Dionysos.>DugtrioIt gets an Earthquake off then falls to Giga Drain.>NidoqueenDionysos and Nidoqueen get into a back and forth of Sleep Powders, Secret Powers and Earthquakes. Giovanni ends up using a Hyper Potion.Eventually Nidoqueen goes down.>NidokingIt hits Dionysos with Thrash, and Dionysos puts it to sleep with Sleep Powder.I swap in Key as Giovanni uses a Full Heal.Flamethrower does a ton of damage, and Thrash doesn't do that much in return. Another Flamethrower takes it out.>Rhyhorn 2I send in Ameline in on Scary Face, then gets the KO with Water Pulse.
>>59617741Annoyingly for me, I lost Key the Charizard to Cue Ball Paxton's Weezing scoring a Selfdestruct crit right after this. Right after I used the Earthquake TM on him too.
>>59617744Damn
>>59617741New Ducktales and Dragon Strikers, how old are your kids?
>>59617744Aw, that sucks dude. Who are you replacing him with?
Past experiences fucked my brain up, swoobat swept Burgh easily. I think Bianca and Cheren will be easy, I'm feeling motivated to do a couple more gyms today
>>59619715Be careful with the N fight in Nimbasa City. Common run ender right there. Good luck.
>>59619936Man thanks for the reminder, I was just about to step into nimbasa and I forgot about him
>>59620006You can go into Nimbasa but you have to fight plasma grunts. N's fight is at the ferris wheel, which you have to walk to. After you fight the grunts, you can use the big/small court for daily trainer battles whose levels are in the 20s
>>59619715What's the plan gonna be for Elesa? She's not gonna be eady no matter what you get.
I was debating whether I should do this update before or after the Pokemon Tower rival fight, but I'm impatient, so I'm just gonna post now. I'm especially annoyed that my fucking Ekans died after just picking up at the daycare (where I had it the whole time since I caught it) and being ONE fucking level from evolution. I don't fault anybody for not paying attention to my updates/not knowing this, but this is my second run of Japanese Red now after the last one wiped in Victory Road (oof), and in the first run the same shit happened to me. I had an Ekans one level away from evolution and the fucker died. At this point I'm convinced that I have some kind of curse when it come to Ekans or something. Next opportunity I'll have at one will be US Red and I'm not so sure I want to continue this shit of getting so close just to lose it to some impulsive stupid shit.Anyway, Pokemon Tower speedrun coming up: I bought a Pokedoll and I'm gonna just skip the whole Rocket Hideout segment and trick mother Marowak into thinking she is reuniting with her child when its actually a doll (kek). Unfortunately, that also means I also miss out on Gastly/Haunter, but whatever there will be other chances at using them.Wish me luck I guess.
>playing white, going for a sandile>get a darumaka route 4>try the relic castle for a 50/50, get yamask>try the desert resort>maractus
>>59570269What DS/3DS game is the most fun for nuzlockes?
>>59622539godspeed buddy, rip ekans, you'll get that arbok next time
>>59622554Repelling with lev 21 or 22 in desert resort that is normally 40% sandile and 10% dwebble is prob something like 80% sandile then (just a guesstimate)? I think your relic castle yamask could've helped with that. It's not the worst thing. Lots of pokemon can still use ground/rock tm's. What relic fossil did you choose? In that town you revive it, there is also a chance to get a prankster Cottonee instead of the fossil poke via trade with a petilil if you luck into getting one in the lostlorn forest. Either is hella good
>>59622921oh i guess u got the maractus before yamask
>>59622568I think that cones down to personal preference. You might enjoy Platinum and Black and White's slower beginning but not Heartgold's E4 grinding.
Hey guys, just felt like mentioning that I love you all.
Here we go, HGSS Ratatta Run V2- Six Rattata's, All Equal in Stats- Can learn all HM's for ease- Lucky Eggs as I'm playing on my DSLast time I tried a few years back I got walled out by the Steel Gym.Would it be overkill if I gave some of the egg moves like Flame Charge?
>>59624502Isn't Flame Charge a gen 5 and on move? Or have you backported a few moves? Either way, good luck!
>>59625913Whoops I meant Flame Wheel. It's like the only cool thing it gets via Egg Moves and it would be good coverage.
>>59624255love to yall too
Started a fully randomized infinite fusion nuzlocke.Encounters so far have been total disasters with either accidental crits, seppukus via Take-Down, or simple stubborn refusal to be caught. My team before Brock currently consists of >Ted the StuffulMy starter, not a single thought lies behind those eyes. Trainer ID dictated I take them over Venonat and Jangmo-o who Gary fused into an unholy (and thankfully useless for the moment) monstrosity.>Wilford the SealeoI'm allowing gift mons as long as they're the first encounter in an area due to the randomization meaning they won't necessarily provide any great advantage. Got this guy from a delivery man in Veridian City.>Floatie the MarillFound in Veridian Forest after a long chain of fucked encounters, sassy nature. It hates that it was caught, it hates that it can't swim yet, and it especially hates me.>Pistachio the ChespinFound on Route 3 as the final encounter before prepping for Brock, he's just a sleepy little guy that somehow took like 10 pokeballs to catch despite being in the red for most of that time.Brock's randomized typing is Ghost meaning that whatever happens Ted's probably going to be useless. Hooray!
just swept n in nimbasa with herdierfucker deserved it after jumpscaring me and ending my first run
>>59624255Love you too anon.>>59626456Coverage is good, i don't see why not if it'll help you advance further.
>>59627256>Brock had a Giratina/Charizard combo that crit three times in a rowokay fuck run dead.let's try again.
>>59621157I'm not sure on this one. I'm trying to pick a team now, I've had good luck so far and I've got a lot to pick from. I'm going to sit Otis (Swoobat) and put in Sandile (little bitter he's got moxie not intimidate though), and I think Musharna and Servine are my sacrifices if things go wrong. I've got a bit of grinding to do, I don't really want to go in with anything under 25 but audinos on route 5 shit exp. My Archen is Adamant with a beastly attack iv, pretty much the only pokemon I've got so far with an ideal nature, she's definitely going to see some play AFTER gym 4.Any anons have suggestions?
wow elesa is scarynobody died but wtf
>>59629631Damn anon, I'm a little afraid to fight her now.
>>59629648are you >>59628926 ?you'll probs be fine. i played like shit and got lucky with dodging paralysis and hitting through hustle.
>>59629662Yeah that's me. Elesa is at such a rough level range, Sandile doesn't even evolve until 29.
>>59628926You got pound and double slap on Audino, lol. Give it like secret power (chance to paralyze in this gen I think) or retaliate (good for revenge killing). Payback is better when sandile is slower, so maybe paralysis is bad. Audino gets sitrus berry, maybe sandile or something else gets eviolite.A bad nature would change the results, butMusharna is bulky af and prob 2 hits an Emolga. Lucky Chant may be useful. Audino can maybe 3 hit an Emolga. Payback Sandile slower than Emolga two hits them and gets a Moxie. Throh is pretty decent against Zebstrika. You can do Reflect or Light Screen strats to help out. Like, Audino does Retaliate twice, then does a Reflect, then swaps to Sandile free cause they keep Volt-switching. You got 3 turns of +2 def (and more w/ Eviolite), and it'll take you 2 turns to kill w/ Payback and get a +1 atk Moxie for the next poke, which I'm guessing it's gonna be Zebstrika, to which you then do Dig and prob knock it out.Unless you know the AI, sorta hard to predict when Zebstrika is gonna come out next. But I think after it comes out, it very rarely does Volt Switch again for some AI stupidity issueI guess the rest of you team could be fodder mon in case you need someone to die. GL
>>59630162Oh Spark can cause paralysis so consider Cheri berry on who you plan on taking Zebstrika if it isn't sandile
>>59630162Movesets suck ass I'm working with what I have. If I'm missing secret power I was probably just not paying attention while I was grinding.
>>59630186Eh, Retaliate is good enough. Also, consider putting a burn or poison on Guts Throh. A crit screws you up either way, but 2 turns vs 3 turns reduces the chance.Just put it all in a calc when you get to the level cap. But Audino, Musharna, Sandile, and Throh and the guys I'm looking at. Yamask cooould do Will-o-(miss) to give a burn and -2 atk, and Gothita coould use Fake tears to help out, idk, Musharna, but idk if they're bulky enough to do something unless they got a free switch in or are holding the precious Eviolite instead of Sandile. Acid Spray Trubbish might actually be better to reduce their sp.def.
>>59628785Well, that didn't last very long. Here's hoping attempt 2 goes better for you.
>>59628785Attempt number 4.Attempts 2 and 3 were stillborn after getting murdered by gary.Attempt number 4 is not going very well, already have more deaths than catches, many of which were caused by my desperate attempt to bring my current ace to heel.My current ragtag gaggle of survivors consists of>Sandman the SandygastStarter, ghost typing saved it's ass several times despite it's current moveset being some weak shit.>Rodan the AerodactylA hateful and eternally enraged monster. Pegged most of my initial team to death before we were finally able to bring her to heel, but it was worth it. They solo'd Brock who was thankfully just a shitter with ground types this time around.>Chel the NatuKind of just luckshittered her way into not getting murdered by Rodan or some rando with bullshit, she doesn't have a particularly great move pool yet but they DO have teleport which is very convenient for travel as this game treats it like a slightly better version of Fly. pls don't die.Until about 2 minutes ago I also had a Ninetales that was found abandoned on the side of the road at a local hotel but she died to Dragon Rape during a routine trainer battle. All encounters up to and including mount moon have been triggered with some being too dangerous to pursue and the others we did manage to catch mostly being corpses now. I am not a very good trainer.
>>59629631Yeah, there's always that one early to mid game gym leader that's scary to go up against. You're very fortunate to not have lost anyone against Elesa.
Ratatta Run - The RaturnSo PKHex didn't work quite right so all my Rats were Lv 1. They don't have any egg moves, but they can learn all HM's.Last time I couldn't beat Steelix.Wish me luck. I'll update at key moments.
>>59632243luck be with ya
>>59631164>I am not a very good trainer.saaame
Happy Birthday 4chan. I feel like this is the only home and community that I have in this horrible world so I love 4chan and I love /vp/.Still currently grinding my team, it's taking some time because I'm going at a slower pace but I will eventually return and have beaten Cynthia. My team are all level 55 at the moment.Love you all and hope you all win.
>>59631164After carefully poking my way through Mount Moon I've arrived at Cerulean City. Route 4 gave me my first fused abomination which my AI slop machine can't really figure out so it's just a sprite of Dethpicable the Pidgiduck. Half Pidgeotto, half Psyduck.I didn't realize I could join Team Rocket in Fusion so I did, and before returning to town got jumpscared by an Electrode hiding in some rocks. Thankfully they didn't know self-destruct yet so catching it went relatively easily. Welcome to the team 'RRRREEEEEEE'Meanwhile at the team rocket hideout my new commander gave me my first job as a member of team rocket, which was to clear out a supposed pest infestation in the basement. I figured it was a task for our resident rabid animal so threw Rodan's pokeball down there and let her do her thing.Checked later and the randomizer decided it was,uh, an innocent family of Espeons. But hey I caught one and spared her from the rest of her family's fate! I'll name her Trauma. At least after I die Rodan and myself can look forward to taking the league challenge in hell.
HGSS, No-healing+Set Mode but no level caps because grinding is a sufficient mechanic stopping overleveling and I prefer to be bit underleveled, anyway.Just beat Whitney, fight was actually pretty easy - I spend kinda autistic amount of time powergrinding coins and bought few TMs and items for my squad.>Mari blasted Clefairy with Thunderbolt.>Miltank tried to hit her with Stomp but it just allowed me to burn it's Lum Berry and paralyze her in one turn with static + T-Wave.>Then I swapped to Dante, used few times SD and Sythesis (slowed down a bit by Attract but the hellcow also lost few turns to paralysis so ehh) and then finished the fight with two Razor Leaves.
>>59633750Nice work. Keep that Geodude safe, he'll serve you well later on.
>>59633315gl on cynthia
>>59630186Following up.Sandile didn't make it through the gym, and the reason was honestly totally avoidable and me being an idiot. I thought there were only 3 trainers in the gym so I was sitting at 6 hp with Sandile in the lead and the 4th trainer jump scared me out of the roller coaster and obviously pressed Pursuit the first turn of the battle. So I go back and grind my team up to 27. Head back and try Elesa.I went in thinking I'd spam Echoed Voice on Audino which worked out great for the first Emolga who died on the third Echoed Voice after 2 volt switches. Audino was a little low on HP but I'd been watching volt tackle damage so I figured I'd be fine but on the 4th turn Audino got smacked with a crit and died.So I put in Throh, he brutalizes Zebstrika, I line up a revenge expecting the last Emolga to use aerial ace, which it does, but I eat another crit and Throh goes down. FUCK. Well I just do a bit of panic switching and take out the last Emolga after she drops a couple hyper potions on it. That sucked big time. I need to do a pretty serious rebuild.Yeah I know I could've played things smarter in a number of ways, but I didn't. Oh well. We'll try harder next time. I'm gonna miss Audino and Throh bad.
Bump
>>59635432Eh, now your run gets more interesting, lol. >pretty serious rebuildYou already got enough pokemon to take down clay, just take time to plan for it and his moves. There's a lot you can catch in the next areas too for some backup cushion, no real worries. Congrats on beating elesa. I like the Echoed Voice idea, I think if you didn't get crit it'd beat using Return
>>59635432Elesa is always rough to deal with, even with every possible advantage, but you know for next time at least. Whi are you thinking as replacements for your losses?
>>59636583>>59637409I appreciate the support guys. I think I'm going forward to Clay I'm going to keep Musharna and Servine in the party, grab a Ducklett on the bridge, pop a repel in Cold Storage to guarantee either Timburr or Vanillite (I've had a Herdier so he's out of the pool and Minccino gets filtered by repel at 21+), then I'll probably take Scraggy and Emolga. If I get a Timburr I've got a spare DS to get a Conkeldurr which should pretty much stomp Clay, otherwise I'll rely on Scraggy and Servine for Excadrill, and possibly even put in Yamask instead of Emolga to burn Excadrill.I was definitely being dramatic earlier, I lost a few good prospects but I've still got a lot to play with. I'm excited to get by Clay because once my cap goes up to 35 I can start to get some evolutions in play.
>>59632243>>59632339The Ratatta Run: The Raturn Part 2The rats where all Lv12 for Falkner.Pidgeotto is still a pain and could easily two shot most the rats.Managed to quick attack it at the very end with my last rat. I know I'll need to over level for later gyms but for now let's hit the road! Next stop, Bugsy!
>>59633409Misty down.Turned our her gym was normal type, so after siccing Rodan on her two Grass/Normal fusion mons she kindly gave me the badge and told me to pretty please never to enter her gym ever again. Meanwhile RRRREEEEEE fused with a Haunter and Trauma fused with a Tauros. Team Rocket also had me dress like a girl in order to help steal a pokemon as well as cater to one of the dev's fetishes. Next stop, Surge.
>>59637426Unless you're doing it for the thrill (i mean, I would), reflect on like, servine, is way better will-o-miss on yamask
>>59638419Do you guys Google everything about the game? How the fuck would I know they sell reflect in nimbasa when most of those stores sell shit?
>>59637717The Ratatta Run: The Raturn Part 3Hyper Fang good brrrrr. Bugsy only claimed one victim. Rival Fight was clean as well. Onto Goldenroad for the dreaded cow! Ratatta 6 has Cut & Rock Smash.
>>59638435Yeah i def google it all. It's like 30 seconds. Reflect is obviously better than will o wisp, so then you ask the question, where do you get reflect at?, and the answer is immediate. You then ask who should get it, so you look up if the best poke can use it (servine), and lucky it does. You should also look if anyone else can use it but I didn't cause I ain't playing. It's pretty useful to ask questions like >where/can I get thunderbolt/ice beam tm? (p2 lab, nope)>where/can I get blizzard/thunder?(iccirus $70000)>where/can I get protect? (nuvema from juniper after seeing 60 pokemon)>where/can I get light screen/reflect? (nimbasa poke mart $30000)>where/can I get calm mind/swords dance? (nope)>where/can I get thunder wave/toxic? (nimbasa $10000, route 17 shallow water northwest of fisherman)>when/where do I get surf/fly? (twist mountain from alder after beating cheren, from bianca after beating her)I types those 13 questions first, then I answered them all in 8 minutes from the internet>who gets screech/captivate/charm/featherdance/leech seed/yawn/hypnosis?This you normally can't answer well but in BW or RBY you can easily since all the available pokemon are next to each other on the pokedex number, so you just scroll to the unova or kanto pokemonIf you get an electric or psychic or ground pokemon or etc, it's good to ask where to get the right moves. If you don't use protect or substitute or reflect or light screen or swagger, you'll never to think to use them. Stalling, lowering stats, raising stats, status moves, and type advantage are basic strategies. You don't have to use them all, it's just a game, play however you think is fun. It doesn't matter if you do or don't want to use something.
>>59639035Hold items too! Like how to get berries
>>59638435It's something you would start to rememebr the more you run through games. Nuzlockes are partially knowledge checks of the games, where items are located and difficult trainer battles. Google just speeds things up, really.
>>59633750the fuck's up with your circle pad?
where thr fuck do i get the xenophobia garbage of platinum ggggagagag
Hey from when I last posted and to now, based on that, what day will my team finally be at level 60? My team is currently level 57 and 58 and I'm only grinding one hour a day due to being busy with things. If anyone's good at maths, please let me know.
>>596432624 days for 2.5 levels, and you need 2.5 levels left, so at least 4 more days, guessing 5 or 6. Where you grinding at?
>>59643416Hello.Basically just the pokemon centers every day and the restaurant and the mansion maid battles even though it's not much. I don't want to constantly go back and fourth and I don't want to keep using the VS Seeker so I'm alright doing things like this for the time being. And yeah I have a full team of six pokemon.
>>59642280What did he mean by this?>>59643262That depends on who you're battling for exp. The pokecenter battles give decent exp, but the mansion and restaurant battles will take awhile since they're so low level. Maybe you could look up rare candy locations to get everyone over the last hurdle too.
>>59644193I can't find it anywhere
>>59644193Do you think level 58 is good enough? Surely I'll vet some levels battling the elite four before I make it to Cynthia right? Also today all my pokemon are level 58, yesterday only one was 57 left and they just became level 58 so I think it might take longer.
>>59638731The Ratatta Run: The Raturn Part 4We've sped through Whitney & Morty.I was thinking maybe this was too easy, but then it hit me on gbe Cianwood Coasts. We are now getting to the point where the rats can't 1-shot most enemies. I'm sure Chuck will be fine but the Steelix soon approaches...Berry Pots are fun. Got plenty milk.Is Grass Knot anywhere near by?
>>59644294What do you mean? Like, a rom of Platinum?>>59644925You'll probably get a level per member, 58 could probably work too as long as you have a good plan. Just make sure to stock up on healing items before you challenge them.
>>59644954The Grass Knot TM is Kanto locked unfortunately.
>>59633750I... ughh... got murderfucked by Claire. Later will try again.>>59641576It's Anbernic's RG DS Plus emulation handheld. Actually pretty good minus circle pad being genuine piece of shit but to be honest, it's kind of useless because RG DS Plus is best used as adedicated DS Machine.
Tomorrow i might begin the elite four and champion. I think I'm ready.
>>59646580Yeah, Claire has the potential to do that. It's always the Dragon type gyms you need to prepare for the best. Hope your next run goes smoother.
>>59647394Good luck!
>>59647394gl
I just beat the first elite four member Aaron and I've been waiting and grinding for a while. First I had Magnezone use Lock On and then Thunder to instantly kill his Yanmega which I knew was gonna spam Double Team, Magnezone was later used to take out Vespiquen with Thundershock, now Porygon Z was a bit risky sending it against Heracross but Psychic killed it instantly. Lucario used two Aura Spheres on his Scizor though took some damage and his Drapion got to use X Scissor before Gastrodon took it out with Earthquake. Overall victory.
I just beat the second elite four members Bertha and she was easier. So I send out Roserade against her Whiscash and Petal Dance immediately kills it, now Roserade would end up confused if I didn't switch him out but I had a reason to anyway as she sent out Gliscor. Gastrodon took out Gliscor with Ice Beam and then Roserade finally came out to take both Hippowdon, Golem and Rhyperior instantly with Grass Knot making this way too easy.
I just beat the third elite four member Flint and he was harder. Lucario took out Houndoom instantly before Sunny Day could be activated, however I had Gastrodon use Surf and while that did eventually kill Flareon, not in one hit and Gastrodon was damaged and I realised Earthquake did more attack. Flint sent out his Rapidash and I healed but then Rapidash began using Solar Beam, I made the smart choice and sent out Gengar to take the hit and then use Confuse Ray which did nothing, a Flare Blitz did some damage to Gengar to which I healed and Rapidash snapped out of confusion and used Bounce, I sent Gastrodon back out and then used Earthquake to kill Rapidash, Earthquake was too used on Magmortar before it could charge up Solar Beam. Finally I had Porygon Z use Psychic to take out Infernape.
I just beat the fourth elite four member Lucian and I was worried because my Gengar is a poison type and is weak to psychic moves and in the past, Lucian has been the hardest. And then Gengar kills his Mr Mime, Espeon, Alakazam, Bronzong and Gallade all with Shadow Ball and not taking a single damage. Four of them went down in one hit while Bronzong didn't but wasted a turn using Calm Mind. That's the first time that's happened.
Yes, i won. I just beat the Champion of the Sinnoh League Cynthia herself and it was incredibly stressful. First I sent out Porygon Z against her Spiritomb, I used Nasty Plot first and then Discharge to take out Spiritomb but Dark Pulse did do alot of damage, Gastrodon then came next and used Earthquake to kill her Lucario but Aura Sphere did do alot of damage, I needed to heal those two so I sent out Lucario against her Roserade, healed Porygon Z and Gastrodon while using Dragon Pulse and Extreme Speed. Eventually Cynthia healed Roserade but I switched out to Porygon Z to kill Roserade with Psychic. Next came her Togekiss, I forget that it knew a fighting type move so while Thundershock from Magnezone killed it in one hit, Magnezone nearly died and that was annoying as I planned for Magnezone to take out Milotic with Lock On and then a Thunder. Next came Cynthia's Garchomp, Gastrodon nearly was killed by Dragon Rush but one Ice Beam managed to kill it and i cheered. Finally instead of use Magnezone, I sent out Roserade and use Grass Knot instead and to my surprise, I managed to beat Cynthia without losing a single pokemon and now my nuzlocke is over.
>>59650134Good work conno
>>59637734AI slop doesn't play nice with fused mons in general so I'm swapping over to a more traditional chart.Surge got his power cut.We went to the S.S. Anne which turned out to be a ghost ship (no seriously everyone in there had ghost pokemon it was nuts) and were gifted a little abomination, an unholy fusion of a torchic and a magikarp that prays fruitlessly for the peace of death on a near daily basis. I put it in a dark and lonely box where it belongs and went about heading over to Surge. The randomizer took the day off as Surge's electric typing was changed to... electric typing. Sandman, now fused with a clefairy, swept the entire gym with ease.Continued exploration nabbed me two more mons in Stumpy (Graveler/Gible) and Brave Stance the Lampent before entering another cave where some random trainer immediately killed the shit out of RRREEEEEE because of course they'd have pursuit AND use it the moment I tried to switch out AND crit. Fuck. This is especially painful as my autistic electrode ghost had Eerie Impulse to nullify SPA on more dangerous foes. Brave Stance is going to have to step up and fill the ghost shaped hole in our party.
>>59650178Thanks. Gonna take a break.
>>59650134Congrats on the win!
>>59650608Yet more blood spilledWe made it to Lavender town with a few more close calls then fucking Gary at the tower decided to be a prick and kill Dethpicable using a Magcargo fused with a fucking Palkia. He also has a Dratini fusion that was spamming dragon rage non-stop like the sweaty bitch that he is.It's not all bad though. Sandman evolved with a moon stone donated to us by the local schizo, and we bought an egg that became Brave Stance's new fusion partner. As for Dethpicable's replacement, I had to unleash that tortured soul we found on the S.S. Anne from it's dark prison and begin training it to wield it's wretched form for good. Thankfully upon evolution Best Buy looks significantly less unfortunate.
>>59653044Man, there are some wild fusions you can get from this. Magcargo and Palkia? That sounds really mean to deal with.
>>59653827It even had a cool custom sprite.
>>59653914Man that is a cool sprite.
>>59651650Take that break and come back refreshed man. You worked hard for it.
started a Jeannette Fisher run of Crystal. When I did my Casey run allowed myself to add Ampharos, Pikachu and Umbreon to the team even though Casey never used them. What Pokemon should I use for Jeannette? In case you're wondering Umbreon represented away game uniforms.
I still love you /nuzgen/
test bump
I think I’m giving up on battery replacement. I can’t even get my yellow version to work; I don’t want to risk messing up my sapphire.
Okay, got over my psychological hump I had around Pokemon Tower (mostly being bored and not wanting to slog through it) and finally muscled through it to get the flute. Now I've headed south and I'm about to take on the bridge Snorlax. I feel pretty confident with my team, but it is still scary. I have a strategy and 40+ Great Balls so I guess I'm as good as I can be here. Wish me luck!>>59657853luv u 2 bb

He might have survived entirely due to a good roll. But with that done, another Thunderbolt is all that's needed to claim victory. Now I'm headed for Four, Five, Six and Seven Island and then the League Rematch.>>59618628Don't have any, I'm just a /co/ guy.I do the occasional scanlation.

>>59657656Well, she used Bug and Grass types in the anime, so maybe Chikorita, Tangela, and something in the bug catching contest?
>>59652714>>59656479Thanks. I don't know when I should begin the next one though. It's gonna be Pokemon Blacked. A game that's easier.
>>59658313I guess I ought to post an update, since many significant events have taken place. It doesn't really feel like it though desu. Anyway, got Snorlax no problem then used Kadabra to mow down all of Biker route and all of Fighting Dojo. Kadabra now has Psychic, as if it wasn't insanely broken enough as is. I also got a Hitmonlee for my efforts with the Dojo. He's fresh and has not been in a single battle save for destroying the other Snorlax by Celadon with only a few Double Kicks. I realized that Voltorb doesn't learn anymore useful moves and still needs 5 levels to evolve, so I've shelved him for now. He will be more useful later against the plethora of birds and fish I will be up against and one-shotting with Thunderbolt. Really I'm just rushing the shit out of this, because the first nuzlocke is proving to be the hurdle I have to get past and start this guantlet proper. Also, I'm sick of Japanese and want to be able to read the game. However, I am a glutton for punishment and WILL be doing both Japanese Green as well as Japanese Blue after this in the guantlet. I'm gonna be so fucking tired of KANTOOOOOOOOO by the end. I have to power through, and part of that is skipping tedious filler shit like Rocket Hideout. So next update (unless someone dies which, god I hope not) will be in preperation for Koga's Gym. I'm gonna clean up as many of the easy trainers that I still have left and raise my team to at least 35 for everyone before taking on the gym, but this cast seems as solid as it gets for right now. More to come later. Good luck everyone else in your nuzlockes.
>>59660138Alright, last update for the night. Got partially through Silph Co. Building (enough to snag the card key) so I will do the rest tomorrow to prep for Koga. Seeing as Kadabra is absolutely cracked right now and way ahead of the whole rest of the team, I've decided to bow him for the utility that good ol' Oso provides. I love Farfetch'd, but he's more of a companion-mon rather than one with any kind of battle potential. If things come to that its already over.Anyway, more training (and probably a stupid death in there somewhere as well) tomorrow. Good luck everybody else and good night /nuzgen/. Don't let the bump bite.
>>59660199>decided to bowdecided to *stow >OsoOshoGeez, I gotta call it a night...
How's BDSP for nuzlocke? Skipped gen 4 & 5 growing up and have never done a nuzlocke going at a game blind and theyre the only games Im missing on the switch.
>>59660664Honestly really fun and challenging, easily more so than DPPt, but you need to forcefeed your mon bitter medicine to keep it like that thanks to forced affection mechanic.
>>59660671Might do it with no heals/pkmn center other than bitters rule, cuz that sounds like a pain to stay on top of. Does the game give you enough balls to do a no ball buying rule?
>>59653044No new deaths but many new friends. While chilling in Celadon we got into hi-jinks where we destroyed a Team Rocket operation and fought Giovanni then turned around and helped the remaining team rocket members with some clandestine operations like TM counterfeiting and scamming a pokemon maniac out of his rare pokemon which turned out to be... a Paras. After Team Rocket got run out of town again I returned to my citizen life and have begun preparations for Erica's gym, where the randomizer has decided her specialty is Rock type.Sandman and Best Buy will have to do some heavy lifting here once the team is ready.
>>59660664 >start run>RNG chose Pipulp>201: Starly>202: Bidoof >get to the training school>swept by a schoolgirl using Abra spamming the off-type charge beamBack to the start...
Alright, BD run going okay. About to go tackle the first gym, should be easy with my Shelldon. Got lucky on route 203 with and Abra catch and picked up the Magikarp in the starter town after grabbing the old rod.>Extra Rules:Species clause. Can only use the pokecenter 1 time after each gym leader. Can't buy balls, tm, held items, and potions(after unlocking the herbal medice shop). Can't field more pokemon than each gym leader/boss, and level cap for them.>PCGeodude>GraveyardBidoof(RIP, gave him the rock smash tm)
>>59661208RIP Shelldon. I grossly misjudged how effective a leer would be and lost the quick-claw gamble. Zubat had to swoop in and save the day with absorb. Caught a Budew on 204, though, so gonna train it up as Shelldon's replacement.
>>59659920I guess I can withdraw the Chikorita after I get the exp share. Thanks. Need to do the Bug contest to get Scyther anyways
>>59661328Forest Badge obtained. Been pretty smotth sailing aside from a close call with 2 abras in Eterna Forest. Got a pair of onaholes sitting in my box but not gonna use them. Well, for the team at least.
>>59662956Did you name Jirachi Tenga?
>>59660664Mind-numbingly easy until Cynthia where you'll get raped and gaped. No different from a normal playthrough really. But if you never played DP you might as well. Just be warned that the game will lull you into a false sense of security for 20 hours only for the Champion to go Ultra Instinct on your ass, so prepare accordingly, I mean it. BDSP even buffed Cynthia with full items and IVs/EVs she didn't have in the originals.
>>59663426The 3rd gym leader's drain punch Lucario murdered 2 of my mons and now Ive got to box all my good ones and train up others because apparently 3rd and 4th gym are both lvl 30 for some reason and Ive got to go fight a bunch of galaxy bitches now and dont want my good mons to get overleveled. Already dodge a ton of trainers on my way to the 3rd gym because it was way too much xp to stay under 30.
>>59663437You're going to have to accept being overleveled unless you constantly rotate your whole team because they didn't change the level curve from the originals after adding the modern exp share mechanic.
>>59663504I mean, its not that big of a deal since my Roselia can probably sweep them anyways at a level or two below, if Im at-level then she'll have giga drain wich is just ggez. 4th gym being water is kinda just a freebie from design stance, but I also thought the same about Maylene, but Lucario still rocked my shit between drain punch and hyper potions on top of hitting like a truck angainst neutral matchups. Pulled through using my Gyarados's rock smash spam. If I fielded my Machoke instead of one of my other pokemon it probably would been an ez OHKO with retaliate.
>>59660789Erica was almost a disaster because Sandman got hit by every single move her mons brought out despite being triple minimized, but Best Buy bailed us out and we made it through just fine.Best Buy is quickly becoming a star of the team, especially after they evolved. They're just kicking the shit out of anything that comes it's way and I don't see them losing to anything besides supreme bullshi- oh hey a crit dragon claw with STAB and dragon gem boost (RANDOMIZED HELD ITEMS BY THE FUCKING WAY) for a ohko.aaaaaAAAAAAAAAAnywho after the funeral we needed a replacement and I decided on this little green man (Grotle/Swalot fusion). The name's too serendipitous not to use and it's a shame nobody made a custom sprite for it. Going to have to put the Siege of Sylph Co. on hold to train him up though.
After much anxiety and putting it off, I finally faced Blue and he took out half my team. Time to EV train some new Pokémon for Red... I managed to get an Absol with Hoenn Sound, and my Guts Machamp that used to be an HM slave can probably do some reeeeal nasty damage if I scarf him, so all hope is not lost.
Luckiest catch of the run so far.>>59663504its actually not that bad rotating since I skipped all those trainers. Easy enough to train up some spares.>>59664226RIP
Not sure if this is even considered a challenge run but playing PK under the HOF rulesheet aside from permadeath. Just beat Gardenia. Delcatty beat Miltank and Ludicolo back to back with Hyper Voice and priority Copycat and chips Roserade. Lopunny 2HKOs afterwards with Double Slap and chunks the incoming Rotom-Fan with Bite plus a very helpful flinch. Muk finished it off, and Aftermath, U-turn from Mothim and a few Seismic Tosses from Mr. Mime wears down her Torterra. Azumarill dodges sleep from Milotic and 1v1s it with Slam.
>>59663426>Mind-numbingly easy Gym Leaders in BDSP have actual EV training and solid movesets. It is a significantly tougher game than the original if you play with level caps. Whether that is still easy or not is another matter. >until CynthiaSet up on Spiritomb, win for free. Like every version of Cynthia ever.
>>59665943Its actually great. The gym leaders are designed to punish type matchup sweepers. I lost 2, two, pokemen to Wake because I thought >>59663847 about my rosalina, but Wake was sporting tons of ice to punish grass. And Wake leads with a fucking Gyarados. I mean, Im using my Gary as the>when in doubt, send Gary outpokemon for my blind run because he is just that good. Lead with a grass? Get ice fanged, bitch. Swap in an electric(what I did) and you still can't sweep a Gyarados at lvl 30. So your electric is definitely grtting a fat chomp or something before the KO. Afterwards he fields a water/ground so you have to lose a tempo to swap, only to lose another before his Floatzel wrecks their shit with ice fang. Unironically the best gym leaders I think Ive ever played against. Love them, but taking a lot of casualties on my run. Currently training up a zubat so I can still hit water types since I lost my Rosalina and spark squirrel and my pokedex options are getting slim since I lost Luxia and Turtwig too. With the species clause, Im running out of anti-water options and haven't even started surfing. Playing semi-blind with my nuzlocke tracker telling me what the next gym leader's level and type is, but as soon as I show up 'prepared' its picrel.
>>59664186uh. fuck.I may have gone full retard.I made it to the top of Sylph then got gaped and raped by enemies almost 10 levels above my cap, barely limping out with only Doomstar (replacement after Chel died while grinding)I was wondering what the hell happened and why the cap was so shit only to realize that, oh wait, it's Koga then Sabrina, not Sabrina then Koga. I considered declaring a mulligan but I decided against it. It was my fuck-up for being a senile idiot who misremembered and I must pay the price.Depending on what the next gym type is I might be cooked.
>>59666173grim, good luck
>>59663426Didn't they change up the E4 too to make them use actual competitive strats? It's still the same regardless, you breeze through the game just for the E4 to rip you a new one.
>>59666173It just keeps TUMBLING DOWN TUMBLING DOWN TUMBLING DOWNBoth Stumpy and Doomstar died while trying to help the others grind, I poked my head into route 17 for a catch hoping to find a winner and got something in the top percentage. Surely this beautiful creature will save me from my own retardation.Shit's fucking bleak.
>>59668236>BrickBased name. I use it for mons that hit like one irregardless. Great for a hyperfangmon since it just shows up to fuck irregardless of the type matchup.
>>59644954>>59646485The Rattata Run: The Raturn Part 5Chuck was easy.Pryce was also fine.We actually beat Jasmine's Steelix. Then we finally reached the point we've never done before. We have just beat the Rival in the Rockt Takeover in Goldenrod. The rats are doing well but we nearly wiped to even the Rocket Execs and Rival...They can hit hard with Double Edge but can be taken out with weak moves. The next major road block will be the Dancing Girls and then Claire.Holy Shit Claire.Stay Tuned.
First time unlocking RadRed. Just beat the Cerulean rocket grunt, God this game is hard. Lost Mr Mime and Granbull to Starmie (forgot granbull is fairy/fighting type in this game, that would have been soo broken with intimidate. Regardless, I scale on. Picked up drifloon and fucking sunkern of all pulls. Well, about to head to Vermillion
>>59668903nevermind, just wiped to the sailor double battle on SS Anne. Storm Drain Lileep, Nidoqueen, and Tatsugiri wrecked me. Attempt 1 is in the books, sadly...
>>59668883Good work! How far are you taking this run? Only to Lance or up to Red?
>>59668236Now watch as Brick saves the run with a clutch Hyper Fang. Things may look bad, it sometimes it pays off to keep going, you never know how a run will unfold until the vety end.
>>59664226Those losses suck, maninly since it takes so long to grind up a new team for Red. Blue is always a test no matter what team you've built up.
Been a while since I posted on here, but I've beaten all the gyms in Kanto. None of them really posed any threat except for Blue, and even then it was just his Arcanine that nearly killed Dreven, Zander, and Baeboi. Now all I have left is Red.
>>59672406Nice work! The grind for Red will be something, but at least you might be able to make lower levels work with type advantage against most of his team here.

>>59673386 Thanks for the words of encouragement.>The grind for Red will be somethingI'm swallowing the candy pill this time. I don't like it, but right now I don't have the patience to grind 20 levels on 6 pokemon.
>>59668236I raised up my mons enough to start grinding out a few trainers to speed up their training aaaand the first person I ran into had a Regice/Leafeon fusion that swept the whole team.Welp, nobody to blame but myself.last number of post decides naming theme of next run0-Warhammer1-Atlus games2-Halo3-Final Fantasy4-Wrestling5-Valve games6-Undertale/Deltarune7-Fighting Games8-Megaman9-No theme

>>59674403Attempt number 5 start!First few catch opportunities went very well. I have plenty of heavy hitters and a great starter, so as long as Brock's gym isn't a type that hard counters almost my entire team like, say, a fighting type we should come out just fi- of course it's a fucking fighting type gym.
Maylene down. Highlights were Victreebel surviving a Mach Punch at 1 HP allowing it to chunk the incoming Infernape and Magmar getting a flame body proc on Lucario that KOed it through focus sash ending the fight.
>>59674540I picked Yang and Cloud for Brock's gym, giving Yang Foresight in case dwayne the brock johnson tried to pull some ghost fusion horseshit, which he in fact did so Yang was a run saving decision. On top of that he fused a Shedinja into a Riolu giving me a 50/50 shot of being fucked by LolWonderGuard regardless, a coin flip that I thankfully won.I was riding high until that same piece of shit mon counter'd Yang when I was finishing up and we have our first real casualty almost immediately after we got them.
Are we back?>>59675097Damn, that looks like it was a rough battle. What fo you have in your reserves?
Today I have begun my Pokemon Black Nuzlocke. My current team is this.>Oshawott>Pansear>RoggenrolaIn the daycare.>BlitzleAnd in the grave.>PatratI took a break after Platinum but I'm back doing another nuzlocke. I like the gen 5 games but the early game sucks and alot of gen 5 pokemon are unappealing to look at but still. Good start. I lost Patrat to another Patrat using Bide but I did beat Striaton gym leader.Any advice for Pokemon Black?
>>59570269Started a randomized VoltWhite nuzlocke run yesterday.Several attempt at it and rerandomize the game cause evolved dragons appears with Dragon Rage, even with No Game-Breaking Moves enabled, or losing to N / Route 1.What was randomized are Items, TM (no TM/HM full compatibility), Pokemon with no changes to their evolutions, types, or abilities.Given Item/Pokemon added by Drayano are not affected by the randomizer.I choose Drifloon, Bianca took Drilbur and Cheren got Linoone.(Rival will keep their starter)Both battles were quite long, only Constrict dealt damage. I learned that Cheren has a specific dialogue if you beat Bianca without losing HP.This run almost ended on Route 1 against Stoutland, but the Flair and Tackle combo was used over Bite, though it was still a close call. The battle against N was relatively easy: his Escavalier repeatedly used Quick Guard and barely attacked, so Minna slowly bite it.Seismitoad couldn't attack due to flinching.N last Pokemon was Virizion, so I switched to Celes and took no damage from Quick Attack.Having no way to harm Celes, Virizion was cuddled to death.
Today has gone great.Current team.>Dewott>Roggenrola>SawkAnd in the daycare.>BlitzleI caught a Sawk which helped me beat the second gym leader Lenora, I was wary of her Watchogs Retaliate though so I sacrificed Pansear just in case while healing Sawk, no real new pokemon however and Blitzle is in the daycare but I will be using it against Burgh because it knows Flame Charge.Any advice for Burgh though?
>>59675150Lots of progress and another death. After completing our business in Pewter we traveled to Mt. Moon. Nearly got wiped by an extremely rude trainer spamming circle toss and hypnosis but we *barely* pulled through without any deaths. Mt. Moon was uneventful outside of meeting Barret and we pushed past the Rocket goons with ease.On the way to Cerulean we found a fusion partner to give Sandworm a sweeter disposition, beat up Gary, and joined team rocket in order to access their basement which in turn gave us Gaius's fusion partner along with a new appreciation for a sport that he will surely introduce to Garlemald once this war is over. A few more fusions later we ran through Misty's gym (Ghost type) with ease and rocked on down to Vermillion where Barret found a partner and decided to do what Cloud at Don Corneo's to see how it feels. Found a few other new friends and boarded the S.S. Anne with high confidence only for Clive to get killed in a bullshit match. Sailor had a Dratini/Beedrill fusion that was spamming Dragon Rage and my only option was to gamble on a Smokescreen and pray. RNJeesus did not answer. Oh well... I didn't much care for FF16 anyway...Training up their replacement before re-boarding the ship to clear all the other cruisers out before Gary.
>>59678542How do your choose your fusion in your run?
>>59678607My rule is just that once the party is full all unfused catches MUST be fused into the party if any available mons exist, regardless of advantage or convenience. If there are multiple available I can choose what they get fused to. Barret was the last unfused mon when I found a Jynx, poor bastard. While in the box the same rule applies as I find singular mons, so for example the next unfused pokemon I find must be fused to the Magnezone currently in the box, assuming of course nothing dies before then.
>>59677602Caught Gloom on Route 2 holding a useless Red Scarf.Bianca and Cheren were easy.A Lass in Dreamyard tried to trap Lala with Moltres's Fire spin but Minna prevent it.I took the lady’s Flaffy, so I won't be able to catch any mon here and after training it was time to face the gym.My team is overleveled from beating evolved/lego, but that didn’t make things any easier. The trainers here are good at their jobs, I lost one mon to each of them.First lead with Garchomp, I switched to Lala and poisoned it.I had to switch a lot so that the poison reduce Gar 's HP while it's used Dragon Rage/Tackle/Sand attack/Sandstorm and attacked when possible.I heal Minna to not die from Rough Skin and Dragon RageWith half of Gar’s HP remaining, I had to sacrifice Nickel to heal Minna again, and finally took down Garchomp!Lala was doomed on the next battle vs Gothitelle.I couldn't remember if it was a triple battle or rotation battle but can I do it with just two Pokémon, or do I really need three present?I decided not to go back to the pokécenter and keep Lala's corpse in the team. Heal my team with potion.A fainted Pokémon counts, so the Rotation battle begins! Chili sends Escavalier, Dusknoir and FrostRotom. It took time to gain the upper hand, with rotations, paralysis and confusion getting in the way — I had to use two full heals. But I was able to weaken his first trio and beat Rotom, who was replaced by Munna. Then it was Dusknoir's turn and Venonat was sent out.I took down Munna and used a fresh water on Minna. Excadrill appears I switched to Celes, tried to spam Minimize. However, he quickly swapped to Venonat, disabling it then used Foresight and swapped back to Excadrill, hitting with Rapid Spin but it barely scratch CelesI used Astonish on him until he switched to Venonat, then I killed it with GustEscavalier hit Celes with Twin Needle, so I switched to Minna, who defeated his last two monGot Snarl TM from Chili and LEER TM from Fennel
Today's been great. This is my team.>Dewott>Roggenrola>Sawk>BlitzleNo new encounters but I added Blitzle to the team and beat the third gym leader Burgh. He was easy. Roggenrola used Rock Blast to take put Whirlipede, Blitzle used Flame Charge to take out Leavanny and Dewott used Razor Shell to take out Dwebble. I'm also really tired and want to sleep.Any advice for Elesa?
>>59679470Meant to say that Roggenrola would probably deal with Burgh easily. Elesa will be tough, even with whatever you catch on route 4, but a Ground type will make it a bit easier.
>>59678542Third badge get and a bunch of evos. While clearing out the rest of the S.S.Anne we found a Metal Coat in a kitchen trash can and evolved Sandworm. Cloud evolved after bullying Gary and Fun Scaith evolved while grinding out wilds.Surge was a grass type making his team entirely sprouts who were powerless before the might of Fun Scaith, wiping to knockbacks until they gave up and handed me the badge. Making my way to Rock Tunnel we got a bunch of new party members including a snorlax that fused with a porygon after one materialized in a PC that happened to be in an eligible zone making it my encounter.
My current team.>Dewott>Zebstrika>Mincinno>Boldore>SawkAnd in the daycare.>SandileTwo new encounters, nothing special happened. Still haven't taken on Elesa.
>>59660199>tomorrow>10 days laterWelp, better late than never. I wish I wasn't right about the stupid death thing in the last post, but I blindly wandered into the Silph Co. rival fight expecting a breeze and got a fuckin level 40 Blastoise instead. In hindsight, I realize I made 2 critical errors: 1st, I left Kadabra in the box (who was level 38 and definitely would've helped to avoid what came next); 2nd not putting any time into training Voltorb, instead opting to train up Pidgeotto until he got Wing Attack. I had nostalgia goggles on hard and was so happy to finally get Pidgeotto to level 31 that I didn't even think about how horrible Wing Attack even was as well as how Pidgeotto wasn't gonna do jack shit for me against his beefed up starter.Sadly, the little bird I had raised since level 3 perished, and then not long afterwards, Hitmonlee tried to fight him off only to succumb to the same fate. I was beginning to worry I would lose the whole nuzlocke since, like I said, I just walked into the fight without previewing what his levels or pokemon would be and totally forgot about the level 40 starter. I was left scrambling and luckily Snorlax helped me out with a combo of Rest, Amnesia, and Headbutts, but just barely. That was literally all my fault and I still feel like and idiot for it. Oh well, at this point I just really want to complete this nuzlocke so I can start a new one. Nothing against any of my team currently, but the whole thing is getting stale and I still have 4 more runs through Kanto to go, well 6 more I guess with FRLG, but the remakes feel different enough.Anyway, I'm gonna take all the southern-most routes now to Fuchsia (I can already fly there, but I want to grind up Voltorb and maybe... catch a new pokemon? open to recommendations...) I don't want to lose anyone else and I'm hoping I can get some more mons here to make a champion team. I'd rather not enter the ones I have now so early, but I have no better mons at the moment :P
>>59680737Alright, this is as good as I feel like I'm gonna get before Koga without any more dedicated grinding (which I hate with a passion, but I refuse to hack in rare candies like a n00b). I did every free trainer I could up to this point. Like I said I can't get any more experience before surf without grinding, so I'm going in with this!I felt like Beedrill earned a better move, so I went back into Rocket Hideout quickly just to get Double-Edge for him. He also got Agility which is nice. After this Gym and Sabrina's I might not use him anymore, so I'm trying to really give him the time now. Not sure if I wanna take him to the league or not. I might just want to use Beedrill in later runs. Also, he doesn't learn anymore moves past Agility so yeah...As for the rest of the team, Charmeleon finally evolved (I caved on the last level and gave him one of the Rare Candies I've been pocketing all game, I treated like a reward I was giving him for making it through). Kadabra is still the undisputed strongest member of the team which is both funny as he's an unevolved Pokemon and sad, as I will have to eventually part ways with him before the league.Nidoking is still as reliable as ever, but he is slacking a little without more solid moves. However, I'm kind of at a stand-still as to what moves to give him, as I had the idea to save all my best TMs for the Missingno exploit so I can multiply them, like Ice Beam and some others, but now idk what I can give him. Should I give up on the Missingno. TM duplication thing? It does kind of feel like cheating/not in the spirit of the nuzlocke anyway, and that way I COULD give Nidoking a good move right now. I'm still not sure about Ice Beam per se, maybe something else, BubbleBeam? Seeing as how he doesn't get anymore moves by level up I'm thinking about giving him Surf, but I'm always so hesitant with HMs on my main attackers. Not sure on this would really appreciate some advice here!1/2
>>59680867Had to split this into 2 posts b/c char. limits, Anyway as for the rest of the team:Globo evolved into Electrode and has pretty much singlehandedly (err... no-handedly?) swept the entire SE shore of Kanto by itself. Thank you, Thunderbolt! Seeing the overwhelming success of T-bolt on Electrode is part of what made me question dumping more TMs toward Nidoking and maybe others. Snorlax is certainly in a similar boat as Nidoking. It would be great with a special move to use in conjunction with Amnesia, but I hadn't decided on what I should give him. Surf seemed too permanent, but now that I think about it, Snorlax isn't gonna be a champ either, so Surf might not even really matter and would only be a positive. Still idk and need some advice on Snorlax as well pls. As for who I am actually going take all the way to the league and attempt to make a champ the only Pokemon I feel really solidly about so far is Omastar (once I get there that is). The rest of my team as they are rn, ironically, I like too much to actually see them become champs in this game. The thing is, I still have so many more KANTOOOs to go... I kinda have to think some of this out. Maybe a team of only 3 or 4? It does increase the risk of losing the whole damn thing, but in terms of conserving Pokemon to use for future runs I think its the way to go (only for Gen 1 though, since its league is kind of a joke except for certain choice fights).Ofc, after I get Surf, many new areas will open to me and, as such, new encounters for the Nuzlocke and potential champs. I'm also thinking about Dewgong for personal nostalgia-sake (I had one on my 1st ever Blue playthrough as a kid). I'm open to any/all advice/suggestions. Please kind thread patrons, help me craft my team a bit here for the second half of this adventure!I'm pretty beat from playing for so long now, so I'm gonna take a break and give y'all some time to help me out with this conundrum. Good luck to everyone with their runs!
>>59680902I guess I should also just specify that I plan on taking Electrode to be a Champ, but that's really it. Nothing/no one else had been decided yet, so please nuzgurus, give me your best gen 1 genlocke wisdom. I think my idea of only going with 4 is not too bad, but has anyone suffered greatly for this decision that can share? Kanto League just seems so deceptively easy. For reference, I got got by some fuckin Nido having Cool Trainers at the end of Victory Road my last nuzlocke of this game, so I would really kick myself to get all the way to the end just to lose again. I think if that DID happen I would just move on to the English games of Gen 1. I would skip the other 2 Japanese games I have lined up and go straight to English R/B/Y lol.Fuck messing around with these moonrunes and dealing with seizure inducing sounds/animations of R/G. Overrated, even if the sprite aesthetics are overall better than international and you can fight me over this. Many Pokemon look jank, yes, but most others look BETTER than international, and this goes for overworld sprites of non-Pokemon like grass and barriers as well. /rant
>>59679470sawk gets fucked by flying moves, but could prob take her zebrago to the desert before you go after elesa, catch a good mon
>>59681202I already have Sandile for Elesa. It's in the daycare.
>>59680902I haven't played gen 1 so I only got wiki to reference movesets. But if your 4 man gauntlet is>Snorlax, >Oma*star* (truly), >Nidoking, and>Electrode, then I'd look into(NOTE: crits, freeze/para, auto-kill moves like Fissure, etc suck and would be close to ruining a 4-man run)>Removing Headbutt on Snorlax; put Earthquake on Nidoking; maybe Ice_Beam OmanyteSnorlax is slow so what's a flinch gonna do? Headbutt+Body_Slam Snorlax is redundant. And since you want your Snorlax to be a mixed attacker with a Normal STAB, might as well give your next physical attacker a good STAB move too. These seem reasonable. Ice_Beam on Omanyte sounds good for many reasons I'll say later>Consider withholding Surf Snorlax until Champion Blue. Surf Omanyte and Earthquake Nidoking can handle the Fire gym, and while for Giovanni's Ground gym it does seem tempting, I'd really consider if you need Surf on him right at this moment, since in gen 1 you can't remove HMs. I'll be mentioning Snorlax later, but it doesn't work when he has a permanent slot already taken early on. Maybe settle for Solar_Beam here lol>At Lorelei, consider Rock_Slide (or maybe Solar_Beam) SnorlaxIf you already got Earthquake on Nido, then Rock_Slide prob isn't that much better. Nido also is very limited against Water/Ice, so he's more a backup here, and two-turn beam isn't an option here. Snorlax could use use either, but Rock sounds better.>At Bruno, consider Ice Beam Omanyte, Reflect on somebody, and Psychic SnorlaxIce/Water Omanyte and Earthquake Nido take the Onixes. Amnesia+Rest Snorlax can swap in Hitmonchan and set up to sweep with Psychic (though it won't be fast), but not on Hitmonlee/Machamp. Reflect might be useful here cause who knows who's coming after Onix #1 dies. Omanyte can do Reflect on Hitmonchan too instead of doing it on Onix. Nido takes Lee/Champ better than Snorlax so if Snorlax can't set up, do use Nido in some way. Make a gooood plan for Fissure Bruno
>At Agatha, again, Psychic Snorlax maybeEarthquake Nido is useful against Poison and no abilities like Levitate, and Snorlax just needs a non-Normal move here. Man, her moves are so gimmicky and there are no hold items...>At Lance, maybe Ice_Beam on Omanyte; consider Blizzard/Rock_Slide on Snorlax and/or NidokingPhysical wall that takes down flying pokes sounds good. Lance's Dragonite is only physical and his two Dragon_Rage (a special move here) Dragonairs still probably won't take Physical Omanyte down either. Ice beam wrecks. If you want Snorlax and Nido to be backup, consider Blizzard or Rock_Slide (if it hasn't been taken already).>For Blue, NOW maybe put perma-Surf on Snorlax, or maybe some other move like Solar_Beam; use ALL the TMs you can, like Thunder_WaveIce_Beam Omanyte takes Pidgeot for -40% and destroys Exeguttor almost for free. Surf Omanyte or Earthquake Nido do alright against Arcanine and Rhydon unless they get btfo by Horn_Drill. Body_Slam Snorlax sorta does well against Reflect+Psychic+Recover Alakazam, but if he gets Reflect+Recover up you need to use Amnesia+(Special_Move). Nido won't work against Zam, but maybe Omanyte can help? Maybe it needs to be Thunder_Waved? But you really need Electrode to kill Blastoise, cause what else are you gonna use? Maybe Solar_Beam Snorlax as backup for Blastoise? But Surf Snorlax is a better for Arcanine/Rhydon backup. And remember you need that special move to go against Zam. A lot of pieces to consider here. Other TMs might be Explosion/Self-Destruct, Fire_Blast, Thunder, etc, idk an ALL the pokes, not just Snorlax.None of this was very thorough btw, take all adv w/ a grain of salt.
>>59681650By the way, the point is that you're changing your moves in between people, if it wasn't obvious

>>59682129Volt Tackle is cool but pretty risky. Ideally you probably would want to stick with Pikachu until it learns Thunderbolt at level 26. After that you may evolve it with no fear of losing any important moves - only Agility and Light Screen are interesting options but I feel like Raichu is not a Pokemon that can capitalize on them. You may also evolve it right now and hope that Raichu will survive till Blackthorn where you can use move reminder to get Thunderbolt. It will give you better stats in exchange for no strong, reliable move till late game.
>>59681974>>59681976Congrats on the win! Good luck with HeartGold!

Intimidate Stantler with Gravity helped a lot and was even able to chain kill Deoxys-S and Salamence in the first Cyrus fight with Spacial Rend
>>59683734That's the route with the double Raichu/Gyarados battle in base Platinum, makes sense that it would be annoying at best here.>Deoxys-S and Salamence in the first Cyrus fightExcuse me? The FIRST Cyrus fight?
>>59678951In Dreamyard, I got some TM: Bubble, Reversal, Psycho Cut and Sky Attack. On route 3, I found an Old Amber and caught a Combusken. In the Wellspring Cave, I got a Bouffalant and a Water Sprout TM.After finishing my business there, I received a fishing rod that helped me to catch Masquerain in Striaton City.I revived a Hitmonchan in Nacrene's museum.I didn’t played it safe against the last trainer, her Golem kept using Magnitude, which was causing significant damage to Minna, so I send Delila to give her XP.Magnitude did not greet her.Instead, she took a Rock right in the face that killed her.Lenora led with Chameleon and Banette.I used Minimize and Radd's Focus Energy. After Radd took a N.Shade on the previous turn, I took out Banette. Then that bastard Charmeleon used Dragon Rage on Radd, putting him in danger.I switched to Bazett and she sent out Magby.Bazett was burned by Charmeleon.Celes attacked Charmeleon, and was hit by Magby’s Feint Attack.I switched Celes for Minna and had Bazett attack Charmeleon.Minna took out Charmeleon, and Horsea hit the field.Since Bazett was doing shit being burned, she was replaced by Celes.Minna shared Bazett's fate after ending Magby(Flame Body).Lenora sent out Misdreavus, who survived attacks from Celes and burned Minna.I wanted to finish her off with just Astonish, but Lenora healed her.I switched Minna to Mac Fly and eliminated Misdreavus, who then sent out Togetic. And that's when things got worse.I only witnessed three moves : Yawn, Sweet Kiss and Metronome.I tried to damage Togetic while she was only using Sweet Kiss and Yawn.I had to heal Celes after a BubbleBeam.Togetic decided to take a gamble. Metronome! She succeeded, triggering a Discharge that killed Celes and Horsea.Minna charged her Sky Attack while Bazett appeared.Minna's Sky Attack wasn't enough to defeat TogeticTogetic kissed Minna, who then died after being gored by Bazett. My reward was a Tail Whip TM from Lenora
>>59684509Stoutland can learn Sky Attack, as can Bouffalant. I guess that, as a TM, it had the same compatibility as Aerial Ace.>>59681976Good Job
This morning has gone great.Current team.>Dewott>Zebstrika>Boldore>Sawk>Sandile>VanilliteToday's going great. Might play later too because I didn't play yesterday. I caught a Cottonee, Ducklett and Foongus. I also beat the gym leader of Nimbasa City Elesa.I had Boldore use Power Gem against her Emolgas but they kept using Volt Switch to switch in and out and nearly killed Boldore who only survived because of Sturdy, luckily enough, one Emolga got defeated and she sent out Zebstrika who was taken out by Sandiles Dig and then the final Emolga went down to Boldores Power Gem. That battle was stressful.Any advice for the ground type gym leader Clay?
>>59684508Not as bad as it seems honestly. Deoxys just sets down hazards and is a free kill and Outrage is changed to a recoil move. Stantler never dies to non-crit and the recoil damage means it OHKOs the Salamence. There’s a much more demonic fight in the fog section with Jupiter just before with double Intimidate Gyarados and Tauros that just hard negates most counters.
Red is defeated and my run of Crystal is finished. The battle was pretty smooth. Most of Red's pokemon went down with one hit. Lvl 77 may have been a bit much, but at least I finished with no more deaths. Not sure when my next run will be; I have a lot of things I want to wrap up in my older games before Pokemon Bank is shut down in February.
Here's tonight's progress. My current team.>Boldore>Zebstrika>Vanillite>Krokorok>Dewott>SawkI beat the gym leader of Driftveil City Clay. Vanilite used Avalanche against his Krokorok, then Dewott used Razor Shell against his Excadrill and Cottonee used Razor Lead against his Palpitoed. No issue. I also caught a Joltik in Chargestone Cave, one of the coolest locations. That's it though.Any advice for Skyla?
>>59685207Oh, alright. That battle sounds like it's inspired by the Raichu/Gyarados battle.
I finally got VS Seeker in my cart Fire Red run and before I'll start to grind everyone to level 20, here's my current team.

Today's been great.Don't feel like saying my team as nothing has changed. I only caught a Litwick today but I did beat the gym leader of Mistralton city Skyla. Krokorok used Bite against her Swoobat, Zebstrika took out Swanna with Discharge and Boldore killed Unfezant with Power Gem.Now any advice for the ice type gym leader Brycen?
>>59687311kek, why is diglett a turban?>>59687839damn, bro's running through, nice job. Brycen uses crit strats and moves that tries to change your stats, so don't use strats that gets broken by a crit like changing your def or their attack

But in Iccirus city, I did beat gym leader Brycen. Zebstrika melted his Vanillish with Flane Charge, Boldore set up Stealth Rock and then killed Cryogonal with Power Gem and Sawk Low Sweeped Beartic.Any advice for the final gym leader Drayden?
>>59688865Also thanks for the advice. It really helped. This is way to easy though. Only two casualties so far.
>>59683357Took on Bugsy a while back.>Vs Bugsy>ScytherDorothy Fakes it out, then takes it out with Volt Tackle.>Metapod>KakunaI swapped in Kohga here to get Exp since neither of these two are a threat. Night Shade spam handled it.I actually got a Choice Band from Winner's Path, but I'll hold off on using it until I get the Choice Specs in the game itself(Lake of Rage, I believe).
>>59689274female pokes are better cause he's all male, they sorta only use like physical moves, can't really set up with dragon tail other than using reflect, and don't let him set up with dragon danceuse ice moves obv
>>59690342woah where'd you get the thunderstone from already? how did your Raichu learn volt tackle?
>>59690366Pokewalker in Yellow Forest can give aThunderstone, and Yellow Forest Pikachu can have Surf, Fly or Volt Tackle.

>>59690342>Vs Whitney>ClefairyIt falls to two Headbutts from Malfoy, getting a Metronome Earth Power in.>MiltankI swap Potter in on Miltank to Intimidate and he takes a Stomp.Malfoy comes in next on Stomp.Dorothy finally comes in on a third Stomp.A Fake Out into a Volt Tackle takes care of the already damaged Miltank.
>>59691348Made a mistake, it was supposed to read like this:>Malfoy comes in next on Stomp.>Two Stomps and two Headbutts follow>Dorothy finally comes in on a third Stomp.
