Hardcore was never good in this series and that includes the older games as well. The only people who play hardcore outside of camo grinders (hardcore is so shit that people mainly use it for camoes) are people who can't aim and people who think they're le epic hardcore gamers because there's no minimap.The maps are never built for hardcore, the smaller HP makes every gun play exactly the same but removes the viabilty of semi autos because spraying with your AR or SMG is objectively the best thing to do. Being able to kill your teammates adds nothing to the game either since you only get killed by them when they panic shoot. There is always a route to avoid combat if you are just smart about it.I've been enjoying it enough to already have prestieged a weapon just from dmz xp. I've done the first 5 story missions which are fun, and I also already have several nice memories of squads joining up and people being cool and all that. The number of liars or backstabbers is annoying but overall I've been doing fine.Another random piece of advice, if a team mate runs off under an enemy UAV tower, just cut your losses and let them die. People who willingly take a disadvantageous fight because they think "nah, I'd win" are genuinely what gets me killed more than anything else. I'm good at even fights and I'm also good at avoiding other players, but I've died like a dozen times being a retard trying to stick with the team when it's inappropriate.I also played the campaign and I've done about 6 hours of multiplayer and all in all, I'd say this is one of the better cods I've played in a while.

SBMM has become some kind of nebulous boogeyman people name to catch all their negative feelings about anything in the game. But I hear some straight up misinformation on a regular basis.First of all, it doesn't "kick in". You have a matchmaking rating that is based on your recent performance, this includes your previous session if applicable, and your matchmaking rating is used to match you with players of similar matchmaking rating. For every game you play. There's no such thing as "a few fun matches before sbmm kicked in". If a few matches felt fun, it's because sbmm worked and matched you with people in your MMR. If games suddenly felt less fun, it's because you were accidentally matched with people with a higher MMR or the enemy team simply locked in for this match despite being the same MMR as you.Second, it doesn't give you phantom hits, it doesn't increase or decrease the quality of your connection, and it doesn't affect your damage or movement. SBMM is only a matchmaking algorithm. Thinking it's messing with your game is straight up tinfoil hat bullshit. However, what it CAN do is match you with people who geographically more distant as it tries to match you with people in your matchmaking rating range, which could indirectly lead to worse match connection, but that is not on purpose and is a simple side effect of geographic distance.Third, with open matchmaking with no system, just first come first serve, is going to create even worse balanced matches. Gregar who plays DE DUST 16 hours a day is going to destroy your entire team by himself, and you're never going to do anything. SBMM will make it so you never play against Gregar, who is way outside of your MMR. Old games just didn't have any MMR. For some reason people have deluded themselves into thinking matches were more "fun" when MMR didn't exist but that's not the case. SBMM literally makes things more fair and less lopsided, that's literally what it was invented for.

No way. I'm astonished. It takes 5 headshots to kill someone at 20 meters, and it takes 7 body shots. This is completely imbalanced. There are assault rfles that have killed me in 2 hit registers on the killcam, and of course shotguns and snipers are 1. Why would someone use a gun that is slow to move, slow to aim, slow to reload, and is loud, if that weapon also takes 5 headshots or 7 body shots to kill.lmg's should have long range and high damage per round, in exchange for the fact that they are slow to aim, slow to move, slow to reload, and loud. Within the LMG class, they are balanced between each other by varying fire rate and recoil (inverse of course). But instead, as they are now in this game, they're all of those negatives plus low damage per round, resulting in a jaw dropping 5 headshots to kill at 20 meters. How did anyone think this was ok?
