We were ДPГ larping, ambushing Russhit vehicles near their MOB with RPGs, and we must have sat in the bushes by the road for like 20 minutes without seeing a single vehicle. Finally got sick of it and just as we walked away, two or three armored cars drove by.

    >>
Project Zomboid is pretty tactical with the right mods
    >>
Which real-time /&tg/ has thr best room clearing?
    >>
    >>2878046
I spent 2 years waiting for 42B stable or whatever the fuck it was, and lost all interest for the game in that time.

Also, post your workshop modpack. I might get into it again.

    >>2879417
Insurgency Sandstorm. It feels so good to clear a whole room of players and make your way through buildings, surviving despite all odds. Tarkov is decent too.
    >>
does arena breakout count? its...more of a tarkov-like/knock off, but it still has tactical gameplay mechanics
    >>
    >>2883049
I didn't like it personally, because for the first few raids you have to play against bots. That's how they try to hook you and get you to spend money on it. It also felt kinda cheap and plasticky compared to Tarkov, etc. But sure.
    >>
    >>2884306
    >bots for the first few raids
i think thats every battle royal/exfil shooter, desu. fortnite, pubg, the gammot. theyve got a hook like that..
i do think its somewhat less predatory than tarkov, though. not by a whole lot, but at least it isnt asking you to double or triple buy the game lmao. desu, id be playing tarkov if the devs werent such greedy assholes (the abi devs are also greedy, but at least paying is optional), and if the game ran okay of 32gb of ram
    >>
    >tfw they could have added an online mode for Final Fantasy Tactics Remake and they didn't
    >>
    >>2885937
    >i think thats every battle royal/exfil shooter, desu. fortnite, pubg, the gammot. theyve got a hook like that..
Pretty much, yea. I hate that shit.

    >at least it isnt asking you to double or triple buy the game lmao
Tarkov wasn't either at first. Give it another year or two and they will start pushing some sort of predatory monetization BS. Sure, they're greedy, but someone also has to pay for the servers.

    >>2886024
    It's ogre.
    >>
    >>2886186
    >Sure, they're greedy, but someone also has to pay for the servers
its a chinese game dev (tencent), so theyre pushing skins, and people are buying them constantly. but maybe, maybe not.
    >Tarkov wasn't either at first
no, but there was definitely some p2w shit going on. theyre not much better, if any at all
    >Pretty much, yea. I hate that shit.

not sure, i've never played bodycam before. they gave me access to the playtest for their new big update and i think they said they let about 1000 people into the playtest?
i think the main game hovers around 5k on steamcharts
    >>
    >>2895243
Are there any game modes other than tdm?
    >>
    >>2895302
yeah there's a king of the hill, that's what I was playing in this >>2893298 (you can hear the hill ticker making a mario bingbong sound in the streamable)
    there's
    >FFA deathmatch
    >gungame where you get a new gun after every kill til you complete the circuit
    >TDM
    >1-life-per-round team elimination which is called "Versus" in the game
    >team KOTH
they have a pve zombies gamemode that wasn't in the playtest so I've never tried it but I think it's a Halloween thing they do in the main game. and they have a ranked 2v2 elimination mode called Wingman, but I didn't try it

i think the gamemodes are the one of the biggest areas of improvement. game needs something more tactical. there needs to be more elimination-based gamemodes beyond just Versus because the instant-respawn modes were okay for a short stint but they get old quickly and don't really play to the game's strengths.
Versus was the most fun I had but it was harder finding populated lobbies for it when you could instantly drop into TDM at any time
    >>
Broken Arrow DLC just launched. Are there still normal players for this game or is it all sweats with 1000 hours like wargame
    >>
    >>2895243
So my question is: will I be able to play it right away after buying or do I have to wait to be let into the playtest? It's not really clear.
    >>
    >>2897555
Also: does it support family sharing on steam?
    >>
    >>2897555
the game's out already, it's been out for a little while. the playtest is for a big update they're doing, I guess they're rehauling the gameplay in a big way. I don't have a frame of reference because I don't actually own the game, I just played the playtest
if you buy the game right now you can play it right now, the update they're playtesting comes out tomorrow Sept 2nd so I'd just wait til tomorrow to buy it unless you really want to play it right now
    >>2898136
that part i have no idea about
    >>
    >>2898279
We were playing reforger with a buddy yesterday. I'll check it out today I think.
    >>
    >>2898279
Welp. So I got the game and I think I already solved it after my first match, lmao. Picrel, me with 3+ k/d in PvP. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I see some major flaws with this game, and I'm not sure if it makes me want to keep playing it. Firstly, movement and aiming are insanely clunky. Much clunkier than they should be imo. I'm talking fucking Squad's ICO on steroids. Moving = death, basically. You have to sit your ass down and wait for morons to come to you. Secondly, there are some insanely dark areas on maps in this game. If you sit in one of those, you're basically invisible and near unkillable. Combine those two and this is just a camping simulator. I fucking quit Insurgency Sandstorm after figuring out that you can camp every single point and rack up an ungodly number of kills that way. It simply became boring to kill so many players. I believe fun PvP shooters should actively discourage camping and ratting, not promoting it with dubious map design and mechanics.
    >>
    >>2903186
Movement feels like you're playing as some 500 pound fat fucker. I shit you not. Humans don't move like this. Even with all that kit and guns and everything weighing you down you wouldn't be moving so slowly and awkwardly.
    >>
    >>2903186
    >>2903190
On a more positive note though: gunplay is really fun. Though I think it's also exaggerated quite a bit.
    >>
    >>2903205
    Music also kinda slaps
    >>
    >>2903186
    >>2903205
the update's not out yet. they reworked all the animations and player movement and whatnot. update drops in an hour from now, try it out after that and see if they fixed anything you didn't like (or made it worse kek)
    >>
    >>2903386
Damn, I didn't realize. What's new in the next update besides the new animations and such? More maps and guns would be nice. Also, I think the game is growing on me little by little. Gunplay is actually surprisingly satisfying, if janky.
    >>
    >>2903399
They did 4 whole devlogs about it on youtube
    New huge map (ukraine trenches)
Like 6 or 7 new guns

Been playing BodyCam these past couple of days, and it's fairly nice. It's games like this that make you realize just how little genuinely intense action there is in games like Tarkov or Arma.
    >>
    >>2914359
I really wanna get bodycam but a lot of the negative reviews make it sound like the player base is gonna die within a month, which is a shame because I had a blast during the playtest but the average player is really dogshit so I wouldn't be surprised if shitters get filtered. Oh another thing I saw is a lot of people want this game to turn into an extraction shooter or arma like game which I personally find retarded and I'm worried ill spend the money and watch it get turned into something I don't like because the devs caved in for popular demand.
    >>
    >>2914414
    >it sound like the player base is gonna die within a month
The game is quite literally 2 years old
    >>
    >>2914431
Yeah but were you actually playing during all that time? I heard it was hard to get full lobbies before this update. I can see that happening again if the devs take another year for an update. I'm not even hating I understand it's just two guys working on this but I feel like this game will have a video made on it five years from now named "WHY BODYCAMED FAILED" again it's really fun game but I'm sketched out that these devs are just scamming for short term cash and will go radio silent for another year before being force to make another update to attract new suckers.
    >>
    >>2914455
I don't have a horse in the race but from what I gathered
    - They're a rather large team now, like 20 people
    - This update took a long time because they basically had to rebuild the game for this big update and the next ones, as the first version was obviously quite amateurish, the hiatuses SHOULDNT be that large from now on
    >>
    >>2914500
Okay thanks for the info that puts my mind more at ease I'm getting the game, sorry if I sounded a little schizo I've just been burned by early access games so many times.
    >>
    >>2914414
Naw, I wouldn't really worry about that. There were 13k players when I hopped on yesterday and it's now almost 20k players. That's way more than Insurgency Sandstorm ever had, and people still play that game almost over a decade later. The devs just need to keep the updates rolling to keep the momentum up.

Had a shitton of fun in Reforger yesterday. First we got ambushed by a bunch of losers camping a town with a BRDM and grenade launchers. Then we spawned on a radio which had been conveniently placed not far from where they killed us. Went back, the BRDM was gone, managed to loot our bodies, kill them and then kept rotating as they came back for their shit and kept getting owned. At some point they brought the BRDM back and a whole kill squad with them lmfao. We killed one of them and hightailed it out of there.

/vm/ is not a super active board to begin with (which is in a way perfect for a general like ours). We could go back to /vg/ in theory, but it's gacha shitter central over there, and you can't really compete with those spammers for the privilege of your thread not getting archived in less than 3 hours.

Anyway, there probably aren't that many milsim fags around here anymore. Looking at the catalog, people seem to mostly play MMOs and zoomer shooters, which is far removed from what we play.

Squad-level (as a group, not the game) coordination, mostly. It seems to be a big part of the gameplay.

I wouldn't call it fun to be honest. It's probably one of the least fun FPS I've played, but maybe it's because I'm not big on fighting bots and prefer PvP.

I've been playing it quite a bit recently. Really enjoying the game, it doesn't cause the same ball ache that Tarkov/DayZ etc cause and much better than Ubislop ghost recon. Graphically beautiful and the environment is really comfy, a welcome departure from the bleak decaying Eastern Euro shitholes that seem to have become standard. The weather is great. Also like the heli transport mechanic for getting around.

You can tell its not complete yet, but it does seek to be getting solid active development and I'm looking forward to the big update. Community is quite nice as well, have had guys throwing good gear at me in base and helping me out on missions frequently.

    >Set in some SEA shithole
Probably the biggest turn-off for me honestly. I'll stick to my Eastern Yuro shitholes, thanks.

Normal. Everyone went back to that game since 'Nam kinda fell flat during release.

What the heck did they do to their game

Guys, I haven't played a Ghost Recon game in like 20+ years. Saw Breakpoint on sale and got the ultimate edition for 24 dollars.. I enabled immersion mode and it's still very easy. I maxed out the survival and enemy difficulty to the max. Losing doesn't seem to punish you enough either.. And the drone I feel like breaks the game. You can literally find anything and everything with it and tag enemies.

That's one of the best things about it. You're not sick of seeing the same shitty concrete wall prop from pidoristan? The jungle and fighting skinnies is comfy.

Yeah big surprise. GZW has a similar vibe but better.
    >>
    Is RS2 still alive?
    >>

Not in a modern setting at least. If I get an itch to experience jungle warfare, I'll just hop on the Nam server in Reforger.

The more I play the more I realized that the entire basis of most Ubislop games are built for player retention. Half the time I'm doing faction missions, finding blueprints for weapons.. Fetch quests.. Destroy these enemies.. And it tries so hard to spread everything out to wastes the players time and then Ubislop is hoping during hte middle of the borefest that you buy any of their in-game cosmetic items. It's fucking insane man. And the worst part about it is it feels like a generic third-person shooter I don't sense a single thing milsim about it. Ghost Recon has lost it's identity.

Now good news is that I'm hoping that the next Ghost Recon will actually go back to it's more hardcore roots.. And heard that it will be an FPS that's more grounded and not like a dumb Fary Cry clone. I am HOPING.

You must be either slow in the head, or the most whipped goy that ever lived.

It's a waste of good hope. Ubisoft will not reward your loyalty.

I'm sorry anon, that was harsh. I'm very frustrated with Ubisoft and the state of big studios in general.

There is good news though, and its that smaller studios are making good games these days. I too yearn for the hey day of quality Tom Clancy franchise games.

Guys, I'm feeling that familiar itch to play DayZ again. Have people finally figured out bandit mods for PvE servers, because last time I played the AI for bandit mods were absolute trash. Not even "360 noscopes from a mile away" trash, but like "oblivious skyrim guard" trash. I wish 7DTD or Zomboid could scratch the itch, but they just don't.
God I miss those comfy days playing the ARMA 2 mod, but my autism wouldn't let me go back after falling in love with the SA's clothing-based inventory
    >>
    >>2863238
What's the best PvE game out there right now like Marauders, Tarkov, or DayZ? I want to tacticool around being a loot goblin exploring stuff, preferably while shooting both enemy combatants and some kind of monsters, but I have zero interest in keeping up with sweats in PvP or even competitive PvE.

    Gray Zone is pretty fun.

Tarkov, no contest. It has years worth of content, a fuckton of guns, attachments, tactical gear and whatnot.

    >>3101002
I haven't touched Squid ever since I got Reforger. The latter has everything I need and want and more, Squad feels kinda barebones in comparison.

    >>3102949
    Tarkov has PvE?
    >>
    >>3103607
It's had official PvE for a while now, but there's also the SPT mod that existed long before that.

    >>3102949
I really like Squad. I take an edible, drink Sapporo and play, its a great time.

Yes, you get a PvE only profile that never loses progress.

    >>3103806
SPT is outdated. They were unable to port Tarky 1.0+ to SPT, so it's almost two years old with none of the new updates.

    >>3105734
I guess the beauty of Squad is that you grab a premade loadout and can just go fuck shit up right away. All the different gear you can equip in Arma just makes me spend way too much time at the equipment station.

Bumping the question. So far we've played:
    - Rhodesian Bush War
    - W.C.S. and Ukraine war servers
    - Rogue Extract
    - Wasteland
    - Heli flight school

    What else is there?
    >>
is dayz any good? been watching summit play it lately and seems kinda fun to dick around in when im tired and cant play cs2

Just get reforger, it has a ton of different servers with all kinds of mods, and some of them are like gayz. It's much more modern too, and plays better than gayz.
