>>586247627This is it, buddy
Didn't buy Phantom Blade Zero because of how disappointed I'm with it, bought a few indies instead.
Why not Halloween edition? I think we had one last year actually
>>586254090Just didn't think of it, unfortunately. Apologies.
It's me, the destitute-kun...Did some testing and the new Lantern Engine >https://github.com/Awakenchan/LanternEngine/releases/tag/v0.9.39-beta.25Is actually way more performant than the original BBport. Frame times are better and all that. That's all, ta!
>>586258217Who is the destitute-kun? Anyway post some clips
>>586106109>586107642It happened again. Just rebooting doesn't seem to fix it, but every time I change the kernel on reboot, it does go back to normal, and it seems to stay fixed for at least one boot into the latest kernel after that. I haven't restarted my PC enough times to tell whether it has anything to do with the kernel or is just something that happens on some boots, but I haven't seen this happen on the second-latest kernel yet, so maybe I'll keep using that one and see if it ever happens again. If all kernels after a certain version are going to be occasionally either making the MDIO adapter hot for no reason or misreporting my MDIO temperature, then I guess I'll just have to ignore it (and if my motherboard breaks, then hope they still sell motherboards compatible with my other already outdated parts). I have no idea where to file a bug report for this because I don't know what the actual problem is.
>>586259521Sounds like a wrong kernel driver. I don't have that sort of skills for debugging this. Try 'lsmod' and see what has been loaded in.Then you can blacklist the driver from loading >sudo vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf>blacklist driver_name_from_lsmodThen update initramfs (don't know how its done in mint).Try asking Claude, even though I hate obsessive AI usage as it makes people dumb, LLMs have made debugging Linux issues much simpler (and now google is also so bad that it's not really helpful to do searches even). As long as you notice the false paths and hallucinations.
>>586261502>sudo vimI hope that was a typo and you meant nano
Stupid gacha faggots
>>586258962He was probably >>586167447I'm even poorer than him, currently playing on a Steam Deck since I can't afford current prices...
>>586262439sudo nano would also be wrongProper way to do this is EDITOR=nvim sudoedit
>>586262439I actually use Micro these days. At some point I realized how much I was struggling with vim even though I have used it for years. It only occurred to me when I started a programming hobby.I tried emacs too but it was slow and html syntax highlighting was bugged... So that's that.
>>586263214Fuck, what are your PC specs? A steamdeck is good though, you could play bloodborne on it easily
>>586263327Have you learned the micro binds? I've been wanting to use it too and tried it a couple of times, but never learned it properly. I'm currently just using kate
>>586263214Try the new Lantern on 'Eck. It might run really well indeed but you need to go through all the little knobs and settings and test them out first.
>>586263519bbhost is very solid too
>>586263479Yeah I have bunch of config files but I don't need much.>"Ctrl-g": "JumpLine",>"Alt-w": "command:setlocal softwrap on,command:setlocal wordwrap on",>"Alt-W": "command:setlocal softwrap off, command:setlocal wordwrap off",>"CtrlUp": "CursorToViewTop",>"CtrlDown": "CursorToViewBottom",>"Alt-Up": "CursorToViewCenter",>"Alt-Down": "CursorToViewCenter"And then ctrl+f = find, ctrl+e vsplit/hsplit and you can open two views etc. I made my own simple syntax highlighting scheme for C. It takes a while to configure stuff but it seems to be the least offending text editor for me at leastIf you are just editing bunch of config files or writing some notes it really doesn't matter what editor you are using. Programming is a different ordeal because you want to be efficient. I mostly use terminal anyway.

When does Kernel 7.3 release on Fedora 43? It's been out already for couple of weeks but they are still pushing out 7.2.x. I'm really curious to see if the new kernel improves gayming performance.
>>5862693287.3 is also not out on Arch but I trust Arch people more than CachyOS people because their users always complain about something bricking when switching to new kernel version.
>>586268649
>>586268747heh..
>>586268649Anon is doing the native GNU/Linux challenge. It should be ending in two months. January 1st 2027
>>586274719CS2 native Linux version is pure garbo. It's funny how Valve is pushing Linux but their own versions are so crappy. Of course it has improved a little bit, CS2 used to be a lot worse couple of years ago...
>>586280982valve always seemed to have this problem where the various departments don't really talk to each other. they've been better about this lately but just look at how long it took to have a decent Linux VR option from them.
Didn't know you could fight Zelda
>>586274719It's not really GNU/Linux unless you are using fully free operating system such as Trisquel.>https://trisquel.info/Fedora, Mint, Cachy, Arch and everything else are unethical.
Nice
My xorg server fork runs smoother than kwin wayland now on prime setup. Kwin runs a game at 60 fps but displays it at around 30 fps (when using prime-run) but in my xorg server it displays it at a smooth 60 fps.It does zero-copy direct scanout on a nvidia prime setup even when using prime-run and notifications that appear above a game also automatically put in the overlay plane so there is no compositing even then.
>>586289071X11 or xorg as the zoomers call it these days is always the fastest option. It's really noticeable in CS2, zero input lag. Adding gamescope on top of it adds quite a bit of input lag actually.
Blacksmith girl
>>586289973>always the fastestYou mean Wayland has more input lag than X11? Why the fuck do people call me poor/stupid for still using X11 then?
My firs achievement.
I think this one is gonna carry me in the early game a lot.
>>586298967They don't know any better. Wayland is probably more shilled by their favourite youtubers and influencers.Obviously X11 will go away one day which is sad but until then I'm going to keep using it. Bspwm is also fantastic but it needs some configuration and external scripts to make it more flexible.
>>586298967>>586304832I went from X11 to wayland, and i can't really say i've noticed this input lag at 300hz. But i'll give it another try and see.
>>586305864i've toggled allow tearing as well, so that might help wayland
Oh no, not 0.20ms... I'm gonna lose the FPS world championship...
>>586298967if you are using wayland and do competitive gaming you're supposed to use one of the forks that lets you use wayland directly, xwayland is bad
has anyone been able to play bananza? With eglantine I get as far as the first loading screen, after that I get a black screen followed by a crash some seconds after

>>586310864It's just cope from reactionary users.X11 is deprecated software. It's old and useless. No use case in 2027 minus 2 months.Everyone still on x11 is either on mint cinnamon or a babyduck
>X11: old but still just works>Wayland: every DE needs to implement its own version of it (use KDE or go fuck yourself)>you use xdotool and xrandr? fuck you, you bastard fuck, that thing you're using has no use case!! die!!!I generally don't mind using Current Thing™ but uh...
