Tried really hard to get into Fortnite but the kiddy cartoon style was just too much. Coming from games like PUBG and Call of Duty, everything in Fortnite looks like it was designed for 12 year olds. The bright colors, the goofy skins, the silly emotes… I couldn’t take any of it seriously. Every time I loaded in I just felt like I was playing a kids game.And just because some 30+ boomers play this game doesn’t mean it’s not a kids game at its core. There’s way too much random bullshit and unfair stuff. Cars, shockwaves, launch pads, overpowered mythics, infinite healing and shield spam, bubble shields, etc. It’s constant third parties and whoever gets the broken item first wins. Compare that to PUBG which is way more grounded. Realistic physics, no cartoon movement high jump shite, and the gameplay is actually fair and hard I.e more strategy involved (hiding behind realistic obstacles, managing your steps to avoid being heard, information about other player = everything, you die quicker since this is a gun fight)
