Game was great for about 10 hours but then it hits a wall at Adventure Rank 20 where you're stuck with dailies to advance your AR, which you need to rank up to unlock monsters and go through the storyI've hunted Jagras, Girros, Pukei, Kulu, Anja, Barroth, Jyura, and 4 RadiantsThe guild system is great and there's a lot of things you can do with friendsAll difficult content is time attack gear checks like every other shitty gacha. Even with near 100% uptime I wasn't able to kill 8* extreme Kulu with the strongest water hammer or greatswords available, though 6* extreme Jagras I was able to killMonster AI is very basic and the combat is low IQ. Perfect evade is built into the whole combat system and that's usually the best solution to every monster attack so it quickly turns into Wilds tier counterslopGame is unplayable without controller and the controller support is still buggy and incomplete. You can play the whole combat with it but a lot of menus and tutorials force you to use touchscreen so it's not a very fun experience, but stomachable. Weapons are really clunky in some ways too and controller controls don't 1:1 translate to regular MH, fx you have to press left stick to run and R1 controls lock on. Speaking of lock on; focus mode is basically built into aiming even if you don't use lock on so that part is pretty low IQ tooScreen is too fucking small and I had to hook up my phone to a docking station + headset, monitor and USB controller before I had a good time. + keyboard for chattingI do like the story and worldbuilding. The open world is great and there's a lot of content through achievements/awards/titles/cosmetics. Right now I could put in 100 more hours to grind without progresion but I've been playing nonstop past 24h and I'm taking a break.
