And what's worse is that, despite her being a Mary Sue due to how the story presents her, she's not perfect and has some flaws, but the game never addresses that. Nothing about these aspects is a part of the 'I can fix her' archetype to which you reduce her, those are just traits of an interesting character. Now, remove Blazer's main treats which you emphasize - her being nice and lovely - and what do you get? A blank character. I literally cannot imagine her in a setting different than the one she is, because it defines her. This cannot be said about Visi, who I can imagine being a character in a different story even without the capeshit elements.

And from the way she touches Robert and looks at him at the end of episode 3 you can tell she genuinely wants to be in a relationship but hesitates because of her position. It's already there, but Courtney is a lot more upfront about everything which unfortunately makes it read off like only she's the one interested in Robert. Plus Mandy and Robert have that mom and dad dynamic going on around the Z-team, which requires her to act more subtle and mature to contrast the other personalities.

It's placed between two far more explicit scenes, of him looking at his dad's photo (failed hero legacy theme) and giving a pep talk to Waterboy/Phenomaman - which is either about self-confidence or finding a new purpose, which also ties into the 'being a hero' theme. This isn't subtlety, this is an undercooked idea. Him talking to fucking Beef about his struggles beforehand would be enough to make it work better, but we only see him talking to Beef about Blazer wanting to help him - in becoming a hero again. Wanting to be a hero is the core theme of the game and a short scene of a family in the office with Robert who doesn't even look at them with any kind of subtle yearning/longing on his face, but merely noticing them with a blank expression, isn't enough to change anything.
